A very nice restaurant. We managed to get a table without a reservation, even though the restaurant was very busy. If you definitely want a spot, you should make a reservation. Luckily, it worked out for us. Thank you very much for that. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food came very quickly and was also delicious. The menu has a good selection, and the non-alcoholic cocktails were also really good. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The ambiance with the view of the Wadden Sea was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, the service was not attentive.

It was really fun, the food was amazing, and the waiters weren't pushy but always nearby. I've rarely been treated so kindly, and the atmosphere was very chic. The place was packed, but it was still easy to have a conversation.

We ate there yesterday, October 9, 2025. The food was delicious. The food and drinks were brought by very attentive waiters, who repeatedly asked if everything was to our satisfaction. A very nice location with a fantastic view of the kitesurfers and waves.

The food and drinks were truly excellent. However, immediately after our meal, we were informed that we would have to vacate the table for another reservation after 20 minutes. We would also like to point out that there were still other tables available in the restaurant after we left.

The food is generally very tasty, but could be seasoned better, or the burger buns could have been toasted a bit. The salad dressing is mediocre, and you can ask for more, but it costs extra. The sweet potato fries could also use a bit more seasoning, and the boring tomato ketchup and mayo don't really save it.

I hadn't reserved a table, a friend casually said...you don't need to. When I arrived there with my two guests, confident that I'd get a table...we were politely told to wait until 8:00 PM...but at the last minute, we were called back and got a great table in the restaurant. Thank you! I'll never forget that. So I was still able to enjoy my birthday with a good meal and a get-together with my friends.

Asked for a recommendation for our vacation. "Go to the cliff - it's always full in season, no reservations can be made outside." I went there, and there was space inside and outside. The location itself is slightly elevated. Parking isn't easy so close to the beach. However, this gives the restaurant a good view of the North Sea. The large glass front is also impressive. I arrived and was assigned a table upon request. The restaurant was quite busy, so it was correspondingly noisy. After ordering, the food was served quickly. The starter was as expected, but the main course was a bitter disappointment. The fish tasted bland and lacked seasoning. The spinach was only lukewarm, and the potatoes were unfortunately a bit stale. The beer was at least as good as hoped, but drinks are available everywhere. Hopefully, the restaurant will return to its former glory.

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant! The location is simply stunning – with a magnificent view of the sea, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The food was incredible. We would especially like to highlight the service: We were served by a young man who was not only very attentive and friendly, but also always had a lighthearted joke ready. This made the evening even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend this restaurant!

My husband spontaneously called and reserved a table for two. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to a table by the window. The staff were friendly, pleasant, and very attentive. The food was delicious. The fried potatoes could have been crispier. But that's just complaining at a high level. The Kliff beer was naturally cloudy, light, and delicious. 😋 We were able to take our other drinks out onto the terrace after paying. The view from inside and from the terrace was uniquely beautiful. We liked it so much that we immediately made another reservation for Wednesday.

Six of us came here for lunch today. The service was pleasant, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was excellent.

We stopped by as a family for dinner on a Saturday evening. We've rarely experienced such fantastic service. Very courteous, friendly, and attentive! And the food was absolutely delicious! If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!

The view is unbeatable. Very friendly service. Good selection and delicious food. Prices are fair. Only the parking situation is difficult; you have to walk a bit.

There's something for everyone on the permanent menu, supplemented by current specials. The five of us had a variety of delicious dishes: burrata, Caesar salad, currywurst, burgers, and Jägerschnitzel. Everyone was very satisfied. Friendly, attentive, and fast service.

The gastronomic highlight in Sahlenburg. If you want to enjoy a uniquely beautiful view of the Wadden Sea and Neuwerk, sit on the wonderful terrace in good weather and let the North German sun pamper you with delicious drinks, coffee and cake, or good food. Spending an afternoon outside there is an absolute must. The interior is ultra-modern and stylish. Simply a fantastic ambiance, where you can enjoy the unique panorama through floor-to-ceiling windows. It's not a cheap treat, but the high-quality food and drinks, along with the ambiance and view, are well worth it. A reservation for dinner is absolutely essential! There are a few criticisms, however: the noise level inside is relatively high when the place is full (which it often is), and the staff can sometimes seem a bit snippy. The latter aspect in particular needs to be improved. All in all, though, an absolute recommendation. Definitely going back.

The food was rather mediocre: a tasteless fish soup, a boring salad, and an unnecessary amount of bread. When I mentioned the issue with the soup, there was no reaction from the staff. However, the location itself is beautiful, offering a stunning view of the sea.

Here, we enjoyed a lovely latte after a long walk across the mudflats. The service is excellent, and all the employees are very polite and attentive. Relaxing on the sun terrace in comfortable sun loungers and gazing out at the sea is possible at the Kliff Restaurant.

Large restaurant with really good food and a great view of the North Sea. Plenty of space inside and tables are recommended even in bad weather. Wind-protected tables behind glass outside. There are a few parking spaces on-site if you know how to get there; otherwise, you'll have to walk a bit, which is a problem for those with poor mobility. Even when it's full (it usually is, at least in season), the kitchen is well organized and fast, which also applies to the service for the most part. Prices are within the usual range and not excessive, and the quality of the food is consistently delicious. We highly recommend it, but reservations are highly recommended; last-minute visits can involve a long wait to get a table.

The one star is for the location and the view. The coffee and cake were delicious! Only the service from the female server was abysmal! I've never treated my guests like that in over 20 years of restaurant experience. It's a shame! If tables or areas are reserved, you can politely clarify this! It's all in the tone! The server seemed very arrogant, condescending, and her tone was very subliminal! Reserved tables could easily be marked, or there should be staff to seat the guests! Unfortunately, the nice, friendly, and humorous colleague couldn't make up for it.

We went there spontaneously, and they were able to get us a spot for four people and three dogs without a reservation, even though it was really busy. Thank you so much for that! The food was delicious (the veggie burgers are amazing) and the service was excellent. This kind of service is something we could definitely emulate elsewhere.

It would be nice if higher-ups were reading this. First of all, the food was excellent, the price-performance ratio was perfectly acceptable. The ambiance = a unique selling point due to the location, with modern furnishings. I've given the service a 4-star rating. It would be unfair to all the really nice and friendly staff to give fewer stars. They can't do anything for their colleagues. Two service employees were particularly unfriendly. We've never experienced anything like this before. Okay, they're adjusting everything. Speed and efficiency are demanded. But please not at the expense of the guests. We can't help it. We just want a nice evening and will pay for it. Employee number 1, the "terrier": we had a reservation, walked up the driveway, and was asked, "Sit outside?" Yeah, good idea, we actually saw a free table for 6, which would have been perfect. As soon as we'd said that, the employee shot forward out of nowhere and barked at us, telling us to go to the end of the line. Which line, where, how, what? Huh? Anyway, he made a very, very rude comment that we should get in line. Note: we had a reservation. He pointed disparagingly to the entrance, telling us to report there. Employee number 2, the officer. She came to the table and asked about our order: oooo, barracks-style at its finest: "NEXT!" That's how orders were taken. Sorry, but a drive-thru is friendlier; you can actually hear words like "please" or "thank you." We looked at each other after "the officer" turned around and left. We all thought, "What was that just now???" And then we all burst out laughing. A comedy of circumstances. All the other employees were really friendly and accommodating. Whether it was with the phone reservation or with the on-site service.

The view is amazing! The ambiance is worth it for a drink with a beautiful view. For outdoor seating, you have to be aware of the weather. It can change quickly. Blankets are provided. The service is friendly. The cakes are highly recommended! From a culinary perspective, I would deduct points for the main courses. I would like to see more refinement, less fat, and more time/love.

Beautiful location. However, the service was abysmal and the food truly bad. We were served very slowly, or not at all. There was no apology either.

Anyone visiting Cuxhaven-Sahlenburg must visit the Kliff. The ambiance is contemporary; the location is unique. A priceless view stretching as far as the eye can see. The food, as always, is of excellent quality, the fish (cod) cooked to perfection. The service is attentive and professional. We'll be back

Amazing view - First-class service - Extremely delicious food (portions enough to fill you up😁)

It's an absolute insider tip. You sit outside on the terrace and have a direct view of the North Sea. The food was excellent and the staff very accommodating.

Unfortunately, today was a disappointment. The restaurant was quite busy, but that's no excuse for having to wait over an hour for the starter. It only arrived after we asked for it. There was no sign of the main course afterward either. Since we didn't want to wait any longer, we finally canceled the main course and, after paying for the drinks and the starter, left feeling quite frustrated and hungry.

The seating here is fantastic, with a view of the Elbe estuary. Unlike many restaurants with good views, the food here is also very good. The cocktails are also very good, a bit sweet for my taste, but overall well-balanced and beautifully presented. The prices are, of course, a bit high, but reasonable by today's standards.

Pure disappointment! We've been coming here every summer for many years and everything has always been perfect except for this year. As soon as we walked in there was no greeting, no one wanted to seat us, after about 10 minutes of just standing there in the aisle we were shown to a table. But that was about it for a while until after 25 minutes I asked the waitress if we could order. Quite apart from the unfriendly manner of this lady, the food was a disgrace. My son got ice-cold, disgusting fries, the potatoes with the sea bream were ice-cold and undercooked, and the salad consisted of partially rancid leaves, 2 tomatoes that had been halved, and 5 slices of cucumber and was drenched in dressing. Despite complaining and returning full plates, no further attention was paid to the matter and suddenly the bill arrived without any fuss, no coffee, no offer of a side table. Unfortunately, after many years, that was the very last time I went there!

Today, we spontaneously went to the beach with the dogs. After a good breath of fresh air and the wind in our hair, we really needed a warm drink. Our furry friends were actually allowed in, so we discovered the "Bunten Hund" on the menu. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the drink was fantastic!

The vegan oriental lentil curry is a dream. Cordon bleu with fried potatoes and, upon request, with oil and vinegar. Excellent. The view is a dream. A fantastic atmosphere. 5 stars.

A very nice location, modern, and with a great view of the North Sea and the kitesurfers. Parking is almost nonexistent. You have to walk quite a bit to the restaurant (or rather, yesterday we drove right up to the restaurant and the driver dropped us off there. Then only the driver had to walk to the restaurant in the rain). The food was good; some of the portions were very good, while others were just okay. For example, the burgers are large and come with a generous portion of fries, but the veal schnitzel is relatively small, and the amount of fried potatoes was manageable. The fried potatoes were also quite bland, but you could add salt and pepper at the table. It seemed as though the more expensive the food, the less there was on your plate.

The view and the ambiance are great. But... the food unfortunately didn't impress us at all. I can recommend the fish tapas. We were there for lunch, inside, and tables and chairs were constantly being moved around loudly, which was really annoying. The staff was friendly and efficient. If the weather's nice, you'll definitely enjoy the terrace.

I would like to share my experience at the cake counter in this restaurant. Unfortunately, I was served by an extremely rude and unprofessional waitress. Instead of attending to the guests, the lady blocked the cake counter because she considered it more important to stick labels on ketchup bottles. Her response to my question was completely unprofessional and rude, which I found incomprehensible. As a paying customer, I expect appropriate behavior, as we are ultimately the ones who generate revenue. It is important that the manager urgently investigates this and ensures that such incidents do not occur again. On the positive side, the restaurant has a professional team that offers good food and a pleasant atmosphere. However, experiences like this significantly tarnish the overall impression.

We can't judge the food. We only ever drink cocktails there. It's my husband and I's retreat. Always very good and always friendly.

The ambiance and the view are truly unique – a great place to sit and enjoy yourself. Unfortunately, the restaurant's culinary offerings weren't impressive: the roulade was very dry and barely seasoned. The drinks, however, were good. The service seemed inattentive and unfriendly at times. It was also quite warm inside, and the air quality was rather poor – better ventilation would have been desirable.

Yes, if it's not too crowded inside! It feels too cramped and smells too bad. Watching kite surfers on the terrace and nibbling on delicious sweet potato chips is great!

I think, without exaggeration, this is one of the best places in the Cuxhaven area. Great food, very friendly and attentive staff, and the location and view are practically priceless. Only the parking issue slightly dampens the visit.

We were very impressed with the quality of the food, whether it was soups, main courses, or desserts! The team was great, the atmosphere was very pleasant! We definitely wanted to come back, so we went twice on a long weekend. The view is fantastic whatever the weather. The kids always get something fun to do, whether it's doodle templates, stencils, or something to braid! Great! Online reservations are very convenient!

Update June 8, 2025: The food was good: a burger and a cordon bleu. However, everything seemed to come quickly, and the service had a kind of commanding tone. The waiter thought he was being particularly cool, but he simply seemed rude. We were there on the evening of November 1st. The food was of very good quality. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't state that a salad garnish is included with the main course. So we ordered a leaf salad as well. The waitress could have pointed this out, but unfortunately, she didn't. All in all, the young lady clearly lacked attention and interest. We were also seated next to each other at a "table for two," which made conversation significantly more difficult. These tables are sometimes located in the middle of the room, and you feel like you're constantly being watched by other guests, like in The Muppet Show.

We were there today, and I ordered a 0.30-liter apple spritzer from the drinks menu for the incredibly expensive €3.90. After taking the first sip, I realized it was a 0.25-liter bottle. The manager explained to me that the manufacturer had changed the size, but the price remained the same. I then had to argue with him for a long time, enduring insults (I couldn't be talked to, I don't understand it anyway). The waiters already knew about the different bottle size, but apparently didn't say anything. Then, "coincidentally," they also forgot to bring my husband the cake. It wasn't even homemade. We would have expected that at the outrageously high price. Never again from this restaurant.

It was wonderful that I was able to get a child's portion, since I can't eat much... But that was about it as far as the food goes... fries had been in the fryer at least twice, and there were three small pieces of fish... that was enough for me, but the breading was soggy and the fish was unfortunately cold inside... definitely not again. The staff is super attentive, friendly, and quick. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is far too loud when it's packed, as it was on our visit.

I spontaneously ate a Kliff Burger with my son today. The burger tasted excellent. The bacon was really crispy and the meat was well done. Even without a table reservation, we got a table without any problems and were able to enjoy the fantastic view. The service team was extremely friendly and responsive to the guests. In any case, to be recommended. All thumbs up!

Magen durch Nordsee Taps verdorben mit durchschlagendem Erfolg. Bei den Nordseekrabben hatte ich schon Bedenken, dass die nicht mehr frisch waren, was sich dann Abends leider bewahrheitet hat. Und ich bin was das angeht wirklich nicht empfindlich.

The location of the restaurant is very nice, you have a really good view over the North Sea. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to food, decent portions, decent quality and preparation, the rump steak was ordered medium and received medium, the side dishes were completely sufficient. As a starter there was a crab soup, I've never had this before, it was really good and I'll definitely have it again. The atmosphere is really good, you immediately feel at home. There's actually nothing to complain about when it comes to service. Yes, something was missing that was ordered, but it was made up for immediately. The staff was very nice and fulfilled every wish. The most important thing at the end: we were also welcome with a dog. Definitely worth a visit.
