Very nice service, good meatballs, absolutely good value for money!

The reason I deducted points was that there weren't even any fries, which was a bit disappointing. You can watch people passing by on the street while drinking your beer.

Marei was a fantastic and friendly waitress who served us very kindly throughout the evening; a perfect hostess! The food was also delicious, and the atmosphere inside is lovely, and outside in the summer, too!

We were there with four people on a Friday night. The cocktails weren't tasty, and the acoustics were really bad—very loud, you couldn't have a conversation.

It’s cozy spot with a solid range of options on the menu. My favorite was the teas where they gave us rock sugar to go with it. The gentleman working there is very kind as well!

Restaurant serving classic German cuisine. The meat dishes are good, and the desserts are excellent. The portions are generous, of course. The staff is a bit slow and imprecise.

Great location, beautiful setting, very friendly staff. It's a shame, however, that there are no good wine pairings for those just stopping by for a glass of wine or an aperitif. Bread, cheese & olives, and sun-dried tomatoes are available separately on the menu. Different versions of the trio would be perfect, but that's missing. The management should definitely consider this.

I've loved Keyser Soze for years. The staff are really friendly, but the menu is getting a bit touristy. Today I got three small baguette slices with a bit of goat's cheese and three half cocktail tomatoes for €10.50 - seriously, please don't do that, it's really unfair and no fun!

A lovely café, bistro, and a place to linger. We had a wonderful second breakfast here, which was excellent value for money. The central location is outstanding. The creativity of the food presentation is also worth mentioning. We thank you for your hospitality.

Even though we had to wait quite some time for the dishes, veal in cognac-pepper cream sauce was worth the wait.

Keyser Soze – No Ordinary Place Keyser Soze. The name evokes a movie character who defies any clear classification. And that's exactly what a visit to this restaurant in Berlin-Mitte feels like. It's a place with character, charm, and a vibe that won't be easily forgotten. The atmosphere is warm, lively, yet relaxed. Between old wooden tables, soft lighting, and well-chosen music, you immediately feel welcome. The service team plays a large part in this. Friendly, attentive, and with a pleasant naturalness, the waiters take care of everything without ever seeming intrusive. Hospitality is lived here without being constantly noticed. The cuisine impresses with clear, honest dishes. I particularly love the creamy potato soup, which makes you feel at home from the first spoonful. And the Hawaiian toast is not only a culinary homage to times gone by, but also simply really well made. Crispy, hearty, and seasoned just right. Keyser Soze isn't a loud place, but it's one that stays with you. Many Berliners from the neighborhood come here regularly because the shop is honest. And that's precisely what makes it so special.

Yesterday, Thursday, June 26th, I spontaneously went to eat at Keyser Soze with a friend in the late afternoon. We received a very warm welcome, good advice, and sensational food! So we went back that evening. Another really friendly welcome. We were recognized right away. Unbelievable! The staff were very attentive and the drinks were delicious! Whenever we're in Berlin again, this will be our first stop, whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a nightcap. Thank you so much.

To the management of Restaurant Keyser Soze: During our lunch visit on 2025.06.23 at 12:30 PM,a female server openly insulted us for not leaving a tip. After payment, she aggressively shouted: "Don’t see you again ‘with a very bad attitude!when noticing no tip. This violates Germany’s voluntary tipping culture and constitutes personal humiliation. Key issues: 1. Tips are appreciation, NOT an obligation in Germany 2. Public shaming + implied ban on returning 3. Total unprofessionalism (service was negligent throughout) We will never return and warn others. Urgent staff training required!

We sat outside for dinner and had the sausages with potato salad and the Mediterranean veg and chicken. Both were really delicious. Service was a little slow but it’s such a nice setting and the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and accommodating, and spoke good English. I loved their drinks benches with the mini table balanced on them, and the full bench tables were all decorated with faux pink flowers. We stayed and had another drink afterward because it was such a nice setting

Lovely restaurant, here I was finally able to have a typical German sweet breakfast, with their excellent pancake with apple compote and the strudel with vanilla cream to lick your lips. Quiet place, away from the chaos, with a beautiful view. Too bad I discovered it on the last day, I would have gladly returned for dinner too

Unfriendly staff. After visiting the Samurai museum we wanted to have a drink on the terrace. At the end there were some free places outside in the sun at the end of the terrace by the window. We sat down there at the tables. The last table there was missing. The 'gentleman' in charge gave us a lecture about sitting in other places, moving a bit. So that other guests would also have a seat. The lecture about this went on for minutes. Quite rude and certainly unnecessary. The fact that we are two older men, still does not mean that we are imbeciles!

Solid breakfast! Some might say the portions are too small, but it was fine for us. Nice atmosphere, cool servers, and a great location. The food came quickly, and everything was perfect.

Pretty long time for ordering, waiting on food, waiter asked if we know what tipping is and before we could even answer he mansplained what tipping is in American culture. Made us uncomfortable. Fyi: we were going to tip anyway :D

A pleasant restaurant/café with old Berlin charm. It's rightfully survived this long!

Kaiserschmarrn was not tasty, felt like cooked from self-do kit, sausages with kartoffelsalat were okayish. I’d rate this place as 4.1-4.2 as people come there rather drinking than eating.

We went there on a Tuesday evening to get drinks. When we entered, the waiter started to talk to us saying its Prime time and they are packed (although the interior part of the restaurant was almost empty). Then I asked if I can get take away because he said they are very busy, the waiter directly told to my face “We don’t do takeaways, we are not McDonalds”. As they were busy, I was going to ask for a drink to go, not even food but the waiter didn’t bother to listen. Then I said okay, then can we sit and order? He dropped his shoulders and looked around like it’s not possible, which was very uninviting. I was trying to accommodate according to them, either sit inside or get a takeaway drink but the attitude made us leave the place. I understand that due to business, people might be stressed but please be kind to people that are there to benefit your business and that are kind to you.

An overpriced gastronomy that is not only based on increased prices, but primarily on the (presumed) thick wallets of its visitors and the location. There are literally cheaper options out there.

Hallo, wir haben früher in Mitte gelebt und waren oft im Keyzer Soze.Es war immer gemütlich und als Stammkunde/Anwohner hat man sogar 20% bekommen.Das Essen ist immer okay, liegt auch immer bisschen daran welcher Koch da ist.Wenn Sonntag zum Beispiel beide Terrassen voll sind weiß man , dass es sehr lange Wartezeiten auf das Frühstück gibt, die Küche ist wohl nicht sehr groß.Für hungrige Familien vielleicht etwas problematisch.Bei der Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Kellner kann man sehr freundliche Kellner erwischen , aber auch mal mürrische, aber wir sind halt in Berlin. Es gab Preiserhöhungen im Keyzer Soze ,die letzten Jahre, was verständlich ist Corona, Energiepreise, Preissteigerungen bei Einkauf für Sprirituosen, Bier, Lebensmittel .Auch gab es eine Mindestlohnerhöhung. Aber bei unserem letzten Besuch waren wir etwas erschrocken über eine erneute Erhöhung der Preise.Ein halber Bier kostet jetzt 6,50 !Wir gehen auch viel in andere Kneipen/Restaurants in der Gegend.Schwarzwaldstuben,Sophieneck,Sophie 11,Zosch usw. nirgendwo kostet ein halber Liter Bier über 6.-€! Selbst in neuen hochwertigen Läden acht&dreißig , Peter&Paul, Dry Gin &Beef Club nicht.Auch nicht in der neuen Gaststätte Dieselhaus mit Biergarten.Aber was wir gar nicht verstehen können ist ein „Schälchen“ Gurkensalat für 7,50.-€ !!!Was kostet eine Gurke im Einkauf? Es gab ja in der letzten Zeit keine Energiepreiserhöhungen , keine Mindestlohnerhöhung unserer Meinung nach auch keine Lebensmittelpreiserhöhung. Das Personal bekommt jetzt auch nicht mehr Geld.Der Laden ist aber trotzdem voll, weil dem Mittepublikum die Preise egal sind.Leider sind die 20% für Stammkunden auch runtergesetzt auf 10 %. Und dann noch das Problem mit den Toiletten was hier in den Kommentaren auch schon oft erwähnt wurde.Sie sind in einem erbärmliche Zustand von der Einrichtung her , die Sauberkeit lässt oft zu wünschen übrig.Es gibt eingetretene Wände, Schmierereien etc.Das mag in den 90ern oder im Friedrichshain cool sein, aber nicht in einer Gaststätte mit dem jetztigen neuen Preisniveau.

A really absolutely great place! Incredibly friendly, attentive service and a very good price-performance ratio. One of my favorite places in Berlin.

We had to insist in order to be served. We managed to place an order after 15-20 minutes. We then waited another 15-20 minutes and nothing (it was just two juices), while we saw other similarly simple orders, placed after ours, being served first.

Classic. I often come here when in Mitte. There's asparagus right now :)

The Keyser Soze always works! Relaxed place somewhere between a pub, café, bar and restaurant. Down-to-earth, solid cuisine. Very nice atmosphere and comfortable seating inside and outside.

Very fair price for what they offer. I will for sure come back for breakfast (4.90 hot beverage + croissant), and they also have meal deals for 9.90 or something like that. I can fully recommend.

Nice pub - great service - toilets could be better

It was a restaurant we went to after a long walk because it had a high number of comments and scores, but the food did not appeal to us at all. I didn't like the taste. My daughter and I both left 3/4 of our plates away. It was an unfortunate evening for us.

Keyser Soze: A Warm Berlin Welcome Arriving in Berlin on a chilly evening, we were famished and grateful to stumble upon Keyser Soze. This cozy spot immediately welcomed us, and the staff were incredibly helpful, even encouraging my attempts to speak German – a gesture I truly appreciated. The food was fantastic! The potato soup was a perfect antidote to the cold – echt lecker indeed. The mulled wine was divine, and the sausage with scalloped potatoes provided a comforting and satisfying meal. We were particularly impressed by the variety of potato dishes, each one exceptional. While the service was generally friendly, we did encounter a couple of instances where the waitstaff could have been more attentive. Their interactions, though likely unintentional, might have been considered brusque in other settings. Despite these minor service hiccups, Keyser Soze left a positive impression. The warm atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly encouragement of my German language skills made it a memorable start to our Berlin adventure.

Keyser Soze, I have known you for so long and you are always something special to me. Of course, stars for food and drinks are obvious, but what makes this kind-hearted corner are the people who work there. Every guest is warmly welcomed and integrated into the atmosphere. The team is diverse, from young to older, from small to large, and that is what makes the store so lively. You can also order a “Molle” or “no Järtnerwurst please”, that’s no problem. Even when you're alone at the counter, it's nice to see how everyone gets along and maneuvers through the shift professionally with a hug or a joke. You are part of the neighborhood and it appreciates that too. Stay as you are! ❤️

Nos alojamos en un hotel cercano que no tenía restaurante. Keyser Soze estaba muy bien ubicado, así que tuvimos el desayuno y la cena allí en un par de ocasiones. Nos pareció que tenía un buen menú tanto para la cena como para el desayuno. El personal era muy agradable y el servicio era excelente. Era obvio que éramos de Inglaterra, y eran muy educados y atentos. Si alguna vez volvemos a Berlín volveremos a visitar.

This is such a lovely cafe. The waiter was an absolute delight and so friendly. We’ve spend a long time there just chatting and catching up and they made us feel so welcome. The food was great as well. Great place!

Ce bar et restaurant est tenu par une équipe de jeunes. Il est très convivial et on peut passer un très bon moment dans une ambiance festive, une belle évasion le temps d’une pause plus ou moins longue.

We went because it was the one that was open on December 24, the waitress who served us was very friendly and smiling. The food was nothing extraordinary, we ordered veal with pasta and cognac sauce with pepper, if you don't like pepper, don't even order it, they put the whole jar on it, something not at all pleasant. Dining with a group of 8 people upon reservation. Excellent atmosphere in the pub. Schnitzel not even in stock (also highly priced at almost 30 euros, which does not seem to be worth the price based on an earlier photo review). Finally ate the sausages and spatzle, meh... mediocre. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this restaurant.

Horrible service with impolite and fraudulent servers! We went there for a drink in the evening, meeting up with friends who were there already. - Nobody came to our table and after 25 minutes we had to go to the bar to order. - The wine we wanted was 5,50€ but apparently out of stock, so they gave us another one which was 6,90€ but didn‘t bother telling us. - The only table service we got was for the last round, which was about an hour after half of the glasses were already empty - When paying by card, we were asked if we would like to add a tip. When I said no, because of the things mentioned above, I was asked „not even rounding up?“. When I clarified my issue with the service, the lady commented „next time try McDonalds“. I asked what she meant by it and she said normally they had very fast service as she did not believe me. I repeated that I did not want to add a tip and she gave me a bill. When I finally wanted to pay, she pulled back the bill and said „I think that is not the right table.“ She worked on the computer again and said there were issues because I didn‘t tip and that‘s never happened. The lack of respect and the audacity of that woman were awful. I will not go there again and I would not recommend this place to anybody. -the other friend ordered a tea for 4€, paid with a 5€ bill and the same woman did not return the change and kept it without asking. I am in utter disbelief of how unfriendly, arrogant and impolite the service has been!

Down-to-earth location with a small menu, otherwise more of a pub character. Something inappropriate (on the day I visited): the music was too loud. Food was good without being outstanding.

Really very nice restaurant. The location is of course great. Due to the location, it is of course nice to see the hustle and bustle on the street in the middle of Berlin. The quality is good, but not outstanding. Unfortunately I had to wait a long time for the staff to order and pay.

I worked here for a very short time in 2005 and loved the people, the food, the atmosphere and the COFFEE!! OH how I miss that coffee!

I have enjoyed going here for many years. There is good German cuisine. I can recommend the Kaiserschmarren. Service only gets 4/5 because sometimes I have to wait a little longer for service.

The Keyser restaurant is always worth a visit on our Berlin trips. We love the selection of breakfast offerings and the service is always super friendly. Five stars are far from enough here.

When you enter a restaurant, you're asked if you have a reservation, not told "we don't take reservations." The only ugly thing there was you, and on top of that, you say you don't speak English. I think the food was this bad because of you.
