Restaurant Kajüte in Lübeck

Two of us came here for the first time. We had a reservation and received a very friendly and warm welcome. The menu is straightforward and fully met our expectations. We asked for fish, and we got fish. The service was super friendly and attentive. Our meals were very good and truly filling. We had two whole plaice. It couldn't be better. The interior fits the name and was beautifully done. The prices are very fair: €75.00 for two plaice. Three beers and two aquavits were of the same quality and in the same location. We would gladly return.

A highly recommended restaurant all around. The service is very attentive and warm. The food is very tastefully prepared and delicious. It's also a feast for the eyes. We really enjoyed it and will definitely return if we're ever in Travemünde again.

We went there last night around 7 p.m. without a reservation. Thanks to the waitress, we managed to get a table for two. However, we were immediately told that they were very busy and that we should expect to wait. After ordering, the drinks were served quickly, but the food took almost an hour to arrive... No matter, it was advertised, and drinks came in between 🤭... We had two mixed fish platters... what was annoying was that we wanted fries instead of fried potatoes and were charged an extra €2 for that, for some reason... since we both wanted fries, we only had to pay €2 once... The food was very tasty... could have been a bit more... but I'm also a big eater🫣 The price/performance ratio was okay, though. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance has a maritime feel, and you feel very comfortable... We'd be happy to come back!

A mixed fish platter with a fish portion of 3 fish fingers. It was so crowded that it resembled a cafeteria. The wait for the food was about an hour. The taste was okay, but nothing special.

A thoroughly successful evening at the Kajüte restaurant! 🤩 The aperitifs were delicious, the Déja-Vu Spritz was right up my alley – even though it was "only" the alternative. The side salad was fine, and the coleslaw was very unusual with its lemon buttermilk dressing, but that too was right up my alley! Our main courses were absolutely delicious: a mixed fish platter with fried potatoes and Indian-style butterfish with vegetable rice and cardamom. The latter was amazing for me! 🤤 And for dessert, the so-called classic: affogato. The waitresses were smart and friendly, and we felt welcome and comfortable. The background music was great, and the chef (presumably) tried to accompany the music on the guitar later on – very charming. We'll be back!

We dropped in unannounced today with eight people and were able to find a seat at the counter. The entire staff was refreshingly friendly. All the dishes, from the currywurst to the fish mix, were delicious and plentiful. We'll definitely be back.

A family-run restaurant run with a lot of love. The owner is also the face of the place, and everyone works together very well. In my opinion, the Indian additions to the classic fish menu are a great addition. We're regular guests and enjoy the casual atmosphere. Reservations are recommended, as it's no longer an insider tip. The food has always been of good quality, with fresh ingredients and well-prepared. Prices aren't excessive either; the value for money is good, in my opinion. Decent selection of drinks.

Rather unassuming from the outside, but cozy inside, the scholler in Finkenwerder was good, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We were satisfied!

A spontaneous visit and a very good decision: the Lapskaus from the lunch menu was incredibly delicious (the rollmops is missing from the photo because I didn't want it!), truly tasted like homemade, and the fish soup was also delicious and flavorfully seasoned. The service was very attentive, and the bartender was also very smart and charming with his friendly remarks! A return visit to this small and very fine restaurant is guaranteed.

Tight is cozy and communicative 😃 A bit tight... yes, but all the easier to strike up a conversation with your neighbor or discover the delicious food on their plate for your own order! The service is second to none in terms of communication and quick wit! And now for the food: the plaice: a delicious poem, garlic bread, and the "fake snails": an amazing appetizer. Conclusion: I'd go back anytime! But don't forget to make a reservation.

We were here this evening. We had reserved a table in advance. I had the fish curry from the daily specials menu and my partner had fish and chips. We enjoyed it immensely, and I can fully recommend the restaurant and the service. We felt very comfortable.

A nice little restaurant in Travemünde, right on the waterfront. We were there for lunch, so they offered dishes from a lunch menu. We both opted for the fish mix (plaice fillet, cod fillet, and redfish fillet) with fried potatoes and a side salad. The fish was cooked to perfection, not too dry, and lightly breaded. The fried potatoes were also well cooked, not too dark and not soggy. The side salad was dressed with a wonderful, fresh dressing (Sylt style). There could have been a bit more of the side salad on the plate; it was very tasty. We also enjoyed the homemade iced tea.

A small restaurant with good food and truly great service. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the Trave River. Dogs are also welcome.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Fresh food, sweet service. Really nice dinner. The food came out very slowly, so if we didn’t have enough time we’d be quite nervous. But it was worth it, we loved the food.

Are you really serious? Food comes cold from the kitchen. The waitress with the first name S was really rude and arrogant. So little food for so much money? Quality poor. Side dishes the last. Table not cleaned. We should hurry up to eat because the table was reserved after we had reserved it. Unfortunately the toilet wasn't clean. So we will never enter this store again. Update May 7th. Here you can see once again that the owner doesn't tolerate any criticism at all. One more reason not to enter this store again. And if you look at the opening times, you don't have to.

An excellent restaurant, what you order always tastes great. The chefs always conjure up something great on the plate. The service is always nice and very friendly, accommodating, so once a cabin, always a cabin. Thanks to the team at Restaurant Kajüte, that's why I can only give it 5 🌟.

Kind of mass processing, like so many other restaurants in Travemünde. The labskaus was solid, but it didn't blow me away, and the salt samphire, as an edible decoration, didn't help much either. Portion was rather small. Reservations are recommended on nice days. With our dog we got a place outside with a view of the Trave. An older service worker only had her end of work in mind and wasn't very motivated. When assigning a table, she was bothered by an extra chair, which she tried in vain to get out of the way with force - strange... However, a younger, more motivated service staff was able to compensate for this. Conditional recommendation goes out, you know.

Irresistible Butter Chicken. Food cooked with love in a super cozy atmosphere with great service. Fresh, good cuisine of top quality. The restaurant stands out from all in Travemünde (promenade). The quality is there.

A very nice atmosphere, and the staff was also approachable and friendly. But the food (pannfisch) was rather disappointing. A piece of fish, which tasted good by the way, simple mashed potatoes, a mustard sauce that rather detracted from the flavor of the dish, and a whole four green sprouts (cress), that was it. The presented plate looked more like something from a simple corner pub. No salad, no small side dish, e.g., some white cabbage, zero "color" on the plate, and then at that price. We were very disappointed. Side dishes have to be ordered separately; sorry, it could be much better. The 3 stars are because the fish, the atmosphere, and the service were good. Travemünde vs. Warnemünde: it's hard to believe what a visual, taste, and price difference there is, and that's in many of the restaurants there where we were a week ago. So there's definitely room for improvement for the cabin.

THE restaurant in Travemünde! Here the cooking is done with a lot of love at star level. It is one of 3 restaurants in this town that still serves really fresh fish. No matter what you order, have a liter of mustard sauce with it Double! The ambience is also incomparable to anything in this place. Every detail is coordinated. Someone has put their whole heart into it. I hope there are still people who appreciate it! Mom is the best💙💙💙

Nice little restaurant, casual atmosphere, very nice staff. The appetizer fish soup was delicious with cognac, the “false snails” were delicious (lightly breaded?) shrimp in garlic butter. The Labskaus has a perfect consistency, the Matjes Hausfrau-style is tender and the sauce is very fine. The red groats are great if you like it pureed. Nordic cuisine at its best!

During our short vacation we went to the “KAJÜTE” twice. Both times the fish dishes tasted incredibly delicious, once it was the fish mix and the other was the cabin fish curry. The boss and all the other staff are very friendly and give very good advice, so all in all, a visit to the KAJÜTE is definitely recommended

My husband and I ate in the cabin for the first time today and were very impressed. My husband had the fish mix and I had the mango shrimp curry, both were delicious and freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and asked several times if everything was OK. The prices were reasonable. We'd love to come back.

Dear team, a big thank you for the nice evening and the delicious food. As a vegetarian, I am (unfortunately still today) regularly faced with the problem of what to eat in restaurants when there are no vegetarian main dishes. I was often offered fries and salad. Things were different in the cabin. When I asked, the boss took his time and offered me a selection of vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately, this flexibility is not a given and I felt like I was being treated as a guest. Thanks so much!

A maritime restaurant with a good menu and nice service. The fried potatoes are extremely tasty, the fish is well cooked, but the portions are too small for the price. The seating is a bit cramped and the ambient noise, loud music and chatter from the guests was a bit too loud for us. Dr service was attentive and friendly.

Yesterday we ate here and were impressed by the friendliness of the owner Patrick and the delicious dishes. We felt at home and it was really good. We will come back often

We had a ladies evening and four of us had dinner there with our dog last week. From the service, to the food, to the water for the dog and the sip that came from the house, everything was perfect. Thank you very much, we had a very pleasant evening!

Was there on a recommendation and rarely have my high expectations been met so well. We had steak and fish. Both were simply perfect and the taste was anything but run-of-the-mill. The portion sizes were generous and therefore the price-performance ratio was more than good. The service was also great. The owner was also there that afternoon and also left a really friendly impression. The ambience is simple, but rustic and cozy. 100/100 points from me.

We were in Travemünde for the first time and discovered the restaurant by chance and made a reservation for the evening in the afternoon - how happy we were, because without a reservation it would have been tight. We were very impressed by the food (cod and butterfish), so we made a reservation for the next evening. It was again very fresh and tasty, just like you would want a fish dish on the Baltic Sea. The sea buckthorn spritz as an aperitif was very tasty. 😋 Then came my Labskaus, which I really enjoyed. The fresh herbs on top, the dressed beetroot - delicious and everything made with a lot of love. My husband had the rump steak and thought the quality of the meat was excellent. 2 more espressos and, as the crowning glory, grandma's red jelly with vanilla sauce. A very nice little northern German fish restaurant with a small outdoor terrace right on the Trave. We were there spontaneously and were lucky to get a spot. I therefore recommend making a reservation. The menu is small but we could hardly decide between the dishes. We had panfish and a mixed fish platter and were very impressed - the fish was cooked to perfection. There is also a lot on the menu for meat eaters. The staff are very friendly and enjoy their job - which makes you feel very welcome and in good hands. We'd love to come back.

Very nice service (the owner was) without a reservation, no problem. The food was very good and tasty, the only thing that bothered me was that the tartar sauce was served in a cardboard bowl. The service recorded the information but reported higher costs for alternatives as feedback.

We stopped here before Sweden and I have to say it was great! The food, the super friendly owner, everything was just perfect 👌 High praise

Super nice place with great staff. Slightly upscale dishes are well prepared, but are very close to the price performance limit. I was only full with starter and dessert. My recommendation: Labskaus.

This was our first time in the cabin and we really enjoyed it and enjoyed it. I wanted to order the fish soup as the main course, but unfortunately there wasn't enough of it left. The chef himself came to our table and offered me a great alternative. It was the best decision. Go to the cabin to drink, eat & have fun. The service and the ambience harmonized perfectly.
