Müggenbusch in Lübeck

We were invited to a candlelight dinner. The starter was porcini mushroom soup, very delicious. The intermediate course was salmon on a rösti, also delicious. The main course was roast goose leg, so tender and so delicious. Dessert was cinnamon mousse with cherries. It was my first time there and I was absolutely thrilled.

Fantastic place. We celebrated our wedding here with 30 guests and couldn't be happier. The initial consultation and the celebration itself were excellent – ​​these are true professionals with their hearts in the right place and a passion for hospitality. All the guests were delighted with the food and the atmosphere. You're in good hands here. It's wonderful that places like this still exist – a top-notch establishment!

The food was so-so, and the place felt like the roof was about to collapse. I also found the gas patio heaters inside very concerning. So, unfortunately, it didn't appeal to me at all. The staff, however, were incredibly friendly. There was mold and dirt in the room, not a single lamp was hanging straight, and the chairs were worn out. Everything here is showing its age. And probably due to staff shortages, the cleanliness suffers as well.

Absolutely recommended! We went for goose dinner again today! Sensational: the taste, the portion size, the service, and the price! Incredible! We immediately booked for next year, 2026!

I really love Restaurant Müggenbusch as a wedding venue. It's beautifully situated amidst greenery, right by the water, and you can even get married on a meadow by the river under the open sky – incredibly romantic! As a wedding photographer, I always discover new, beautiful spots here where you can take relaxed, romantic wedding photos. I'll definitely be back!

The food and drinks are okay for the price, but nothing special. Unfortunately, cleanliness isn't a priority; the area around the restaurant is unacceptable – a shame given the beautiful scenery.

A place with heart – our absolute dream location! Our wedding was on September 11, 2025, and we were with 80 people. The Müggenbusch Restaurant felt like coming home from the very first moment. From the moment we first met, the chemistry was just right – warm, honest, and uncomplicated. We went there several times, had a rehearsal dinner (which was simply fantastic!), and received wonderful support with all the organizational details. The location itself is a dream: the outdoor wedding ceremony on the jetty, the champagne reception outside, the beautiful rustic ambiance inside – everything feels lovingly designed, thoughtfully arranged, and offers endless possibilities. The team had great ideas, took care of everything, and took so much work off our hands. Even when the rain forced us to reschedule at short notice, they managed everything perfectly. We didn't have to worry about a thing and could simply enjoy ourselves. The food was an absolute highlight – from the appetizer, to the shrimp, salmon, and rump steak, to the salads and desserts: everything was perfect, fresh, plentiful, and consistently praised by our guests. Not a single criticism – just enthusiasm. The entire team also deserves enormous praise: everyone was warm, attentive, and simply truly sweet. You can feel that the people here work with passion and joy. We even returned after the wedding for the final barbecue – everything was perfect again. For us, the Müggenbusch has become not just a location, but a place close to our hearts. We will definitely be back regularly! ❤️

We celebrated our wedding at Müggenbusch on Friday, June 13, 2025, in beautiful weather. I would like to thank Martin and his team for making our wedding such a fantastic day. Everything was perfect for us, and we look back on this day fondly. The uncomplicated, friendly communication, both beforehand and on the day of the wedding, gave us a lot of security, so that we could concentrate fully on ourselves on our special day. We chose the grill BBQ, and the food was absolutely fantastic! There are many beautiful photo spots on the grounds and in a small wooded area nearby, which I can highly recommend. I am also very happy that our photo shoot with alpacas went smoothly (the waiting staff were so taken with the animals, they would have liked to keep them ;)) The professionalism displayed by the entire Müggenbusch team is remarkable. From start to finish, you can tell that the professionals here are passionate about their work and yet still lovingly care for each individual couple. We had to wait almost two years before we could get married—no wonder Müggenbusch is so popular—because, in addition to the fantastic service and ambiance, the price is more than fair. Anyone who wants to live out their dream of a forest wedding is in the right place here.

We celebrated our wedding at Müggenbusch on August 9, 2025. We immediately fell in love with this location and knew we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony there. We can only thank Martin and the entire team from the bottom of our hearts. It was perfect, and we were taken care of in every way. We always had a good feeling during the preliminary meetings, too. The staff are incredibly experienced, and we could ask any questions at any time. Everyone there knew what they were doing. Our ideas for the decorations we had brought with us were perfectly implemented. For dinner, we opted for a served appetizer and the BBQ. What can I say? I've never eaten so well in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Nothing was missing, and everything was top-quality, delicious, and plentiful. The next morning, we enjoyed a small but delicious breakfast. The rooms are perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The service was perfect. There was always someone available. No one had to wait for drinks. We were so well looked after. For a summer festival, we gathered in Müggenbusch with 50 people. We had the BBQ, which left nothing to be desired. The service was super friendly, very attentive, and always with a smile. The ambiance in Müggenbusch speaks for itself; it's a place where you'll want to linger.

Everything is just right here. We reserved the candlelight dinner for two people. The dishes were all delicious without exception. The service was very attentive and prompt. The ambiance was very pleasant with lots of details. We will definitely come back again. Currently, it is only possible to get a table here by reservation, but that works without any problems.

Plus: good service and delicious food. Minus: the last 500 meters or so to the restaurant are along a single-lane road. When there's oncoming traffic, one vehicle has to swerve onto the unpaved sandy road. Getting out of there again in the rain is a disaster. The parking lot directly in front of the restaurant doesn't exactly make the best impression with its large potholes. It's a shame; as long as business is going well, nothing will change here. We were here for a barbecue, and it was simply fantastic. Plenty of food, very friendly and polite service. It was 100 percent value for money. We've already booked our next visit.

An absolute dream location for our wedding! From the very first planning meeting to the big day itself, the Müggenbusch team gave it their all to make our wedding exactly as we had dreamed. Even during the planning phase, we felt in excellent hands. Every request was taken seriously. Communication was always warm, quick, and uncomplicated, and you could tell that they put real passion and experience into it. On April 21, 2024, I celebrated my 60th birthday with 26 guests at a sensational brunch. We had a private room and friendly, attentive staff especially for us. My guests and I were thrilled. It was a true testament to how beautifully you can arrange and present food, while still making everything taste delicious. I was even given two platters from the lavish buffet to take home. I would like to thank the entire team for their outstanding service. And the final bill was a pleasant surprise.

We celebrated my parents' golden wedding anniversary there yesterday. Everything was truly amazing. The beautifully set table, our own decorations were even more integrated, the service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was a delight... It's a wonderful place to linger. A beautiful place, but unfortunately, our impressions were marred by problems with the service staff. When we encountered an issue (which wasn't our fault), we were met with complete lack of understanding, no courtesy, and even some rude comments.

I highly recommend this venue. The food and service are top-notch, and the prices are fair. From a photographer's perspective, it's also perfect for weddings.

We've never eaten so badly...never again...

In any case, it's always great here. Great service, great food, and fair prices.

A special, romantic atmosphere, in the middle of the forest. The food was truly delicious, and all the staff were very friendly, hardworking, and helpful. Ideal for family celebrations. Very dog-friendly, uncomplicated.

A great rest stop on our canoe trip on the Wakenitz River. It's also a great location for a celebration. When we were here, there was a large wedding party and a birthday party to celebrate. We sat in the garden at the kiosk and enjoyed the delicious cake.

A truly fantastic atmosphere awaits you here. A quaint and rustic restaurant, nestled in the countryside, right on the Wakenitz River. Even sheep roam freely. You can relax and enjoy yourself here. It's unique; I haven't experienced anything like it anywhere else. The food is very good, and the staff is extremely friendly.

We celebrated our wedding on April 19, 2025 in Müggenbusch with around 65 people and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. In addition to the great atmosphere, especially during the free wedding ceremony on the jetty and the whole atmosphere around it, the service was also very good. The staff was always courteous and always attentive. The food also left nothing to be desired and there was something for everyone. Just great! Many thanks to Martin and the entire team for not having to worry about anything on our day and for making us feel so comfortable. Without this good organization this would not have been possible. We are looking forward to further celebrations on site, but this time as guests :)

Went there yesterday with a larger group and the food and service were excellent. The price-performance ratio is definitely right here and the location is wonderful. We ordered a buffet and there was a great selection and more than enough of everything. I can definitely recommend it for larger groups and company celebrations 👍

A great restaurant with a fair price/performance ratio. The food is great, the service is almost perfect. A big compliment to the kitchen and the staff. However, there are also shadows. The table was too small for our company and the chairs were too uncomfortable for a longer event. The sanitary facilities also lag a little behind the rest of the restaurant's style and are not appropriate. All in all, a recommendation. Unfortunately you can't give half stars. My rating is 4.5 stars.

I haven't been to this place for ages but it's just as good, if not better, than it used to be. Everything just fit. The food is simply great. The service can't be beat. The service was professional, very polite and always at the table on time. The location is so beautiful with the green areas. With so many details. I'll be back. I was at a wedding party. The Müggenbusch Restaurant is highly recommended! Its location on the Wakenitz River and its spacious private grounds are beautifully landscaped with many native trees and plants. It's an oasis of peace and relaxation with plenty of seating. A large, free parking lot is located directly in front of the entrance. Goats, chickens, and a potbellied pig live naturally on the premises. The service is very friendly and personal. Every guest is warmly welcomed and served with joy and good humor. The food is delicious, plentiful, and lovingly prepared. Prices are family-friendly. Reservations by phone are highly recommended, as many private parties book in advance.

Last year I was able to attend a wedding in wonderful Müggenbusch for the first time as an officiant and I was very excited! It is so beautifully surrounded by lots of nature, forest, meadows and water. There is a very special place for the wedding ceremony on a jetty, perfectly protected from the blazing sun or rain. Really a very special place, I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Actually, you can't recommend the restaurant because it will be even more difficult to get a table 😉 So it's really an outstanding restaurant, great home-style cuisine with great service and a wonderful location. You can also forgive the lack of the option to pay by card. A “must visit” in Lübeck

We come regularly and with pleasure. The food is of high quality and fairly priced. The service is nice and courteous. The ambience is cozy at first glance, but at second glance it's a bit old.

All in all it was a nice evening with good food and nice service. The price-performance ratio is completely ok. The only unpleasant thing was that there was a bit of a draft and it got cold when someone entered the restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

The service is great, no wishes remain unfulfilled. The restaurant exudes a charm that I have never experienced anywhere else. We were there today for a Christmas birthday dinner and had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was cozy, the little Christmas market was very pretty and the mulled wine was incredibly tasty! Apart from the fantastic duck, the service was calm and absolutely great despite the full tables. It was our first time here but definitely not the last!

The goose food was first class, very tasty and the price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. The service, the staff is particularly worth mentioning, so nice and accommodating! We were there with 20 seniors and everyone was thrilled.

We were recently there for a goose meal. The restaurant is conveniently located not far from Lübeck and the BAB 20. There are sufficient parking spaces. You will be welcomed into a small Christmas village with mulled wine. The restaurant itself is decorated in a cozy, rustic style. The menu was consistently excellent. The goose was cooked to perfection and the side dishes went very well with it! Price-performance ratio is right here! The employees are also consistently friendly and courteous. Highly recommended! I'd love to come back.

Very good event location with very good food/buffet for various events and seasons. The service is also very nice and accommodating. I like coming back here every time.

There are enough photos available. Four days ago we had lunch there (small birthday party). The parking situation is annoying, especially when larger groups dine there. Note: The restaurant cannot be reached by public transport. In the spirit of Christmas, the wooden stalls distributed punch, gifts, etc. Food was excellent, veal medallions as tender as I have ever had, as were the venison medallions, three generous pieces each. The pike perch stuck out as a fillet over the edge of the plate. Side dishes were so plentiful that guests brought their Tupperware containers with them. Pre-ordering a table is definitely advisable.

A very special flair, simply enchanting

The grill buffet in the evening was very nice and everything was really good. Breakfast for me personally bit disappointing very little choice. The staff, however, was great. Everyone was really nice and accommodating. The ambience is great, the whole thing has a very nice old style and the small pond outside also fits perfectly into the overall picture.

The place, in this nature, could not have been better chosen and the words that Pastor Frank Gottschalk chose, about Noah's Ark and fragility nature, fit exactly there. The right place to say thank you. Not only for the fact that we can live here happily and in peace, but also to Martin and the whole Müggenbusch team for the delicious food, which was free for everyone and hopefully brought in a lot of donations for children and young people who are not doing so well. When choosing our wedding location, we chose Müggenbusch and celebrated our wedding including a free wedding ceremony here on September 8th, 2024. Admittedly, at the beginning there was some uncertainty about scheduling and scheduling, which made us a little unsure. But we didn't let that deter us, we trusted in the Müggenbusch team's years of experience and in the end we weren't disappointed. On the contrary! The Müggenbusch is beautiful, especially when the weather is good, the staff are super friendly and were always on hand during the celebration and the food was absolutely amazing - the barbecue buffet is a clear recommendation!
