Delicious food, nice ambience, nice service.

Food was super tasty, nice staff, just perfect all around.

We were on holiday on the North Sea and went here to eat fish. In addition to the food, the service blew our socks off...if we go to the corner again we know where there is great food!

Food tasted great, but small portions and expensive

Endlich mal wieder Schollen und Seezungen gegessen, super schön gebraten! Ganze kleine Schollen und Seezungen die auch noch so gut von den Seitengräten befreit wurden findet man selten an der Küste. Tolle Kartoffeln und zerlassene Butter dazu, was braucht man mehr! Den tollen Salatteller nicht zu vergessen. Lieben Dank an die Küche, und auch für die Serviceleistung. Kommen bald wieder.

We were on vacation and went out to eat there, even though the kitchen was only open for 10 minutes, we were warmly welcomed and served top-notch!!!!!

We were here for dinner in the evening. The taste of the food (gurnard with boiled potatoes) was quite ok. What's not right is that the potatoes were almost cold and so was the fish. Paying over 20 euros for that is not okay. Too bad. Will not eat there again.

My girlfriend and I had dinner in the above-mentioned restaurant on August 24th, 2024. We decided on a fish dish. That was a very good decision. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The food was very tasty. The portion was plentiful. Prices absolutely okay. Additionally, the service was first class. All the employees were very friendly. If we go to the coast again, we would like to come back here *****. 👍

We sat right at the entrance and had multiple eye contact with the waitresses. After 15 minutes of not being served or even speaking to us, we left again. I can't explain why we were treated like this. We weren't dressed inappropriately, nor did we misbehave in any way. Of course I can't rate the food itself.

Very friendly, attentive staff serve great fish dishes here at absolutely reasonable prices. The fried fillets of red gurnard with herb butter couldn't have been better. Wonderfully crispy on the skin side and still slightly glassy on the inside - fantastically good! It's just a shame that the wine selection can't even begin to keep up with the quality of the food.

Great restaurant with a nice location right on the market square. The food tasted very good. Only the two schnitzels were very small and I felt like I had leftovers from the fries. Small hard knobs....at a price of 22 euros you can actually expect that the fries wouldn't be served like that. The waiter acknowledged this in a friendly manner and offered me a free espresso. But as a non-coffee drinker I couldn't do anything with it 😅

The Hopfenlaube restaurant is a focal point for German cuisine in Esens, it is centrally located on the market square. There are also parking spaces on the market square! The service is very pleasant, friendly and attentive! I was speechless when the waitress explained to my wife the types of fish on her plate. But my meat dish doesn't need to hide. The fish was to die for. My flesh tender and juicy. Just to come back!

We went out to eat with our 5 year old son. The service responded very well to him, his dinosaur plate came with our soup as requested. Soup and main course, fish, were just perfect. Thank you for the lovely evening.

It's a shame... we were in Esens for two weeks, saw a lot of this beautiful area, and also went out to eat a lot, but unfortunately only on the last evening in the Hopfenlaube. Ein top Mittagessen. Medaillons vom Schweinefillet in Gorgonzolasauce mit Kroketten und grüne Bohnen. Meine Frau hatte Curryhähnchen mit Reis Ananas und Salatteller. Wir haben beide selten so gut gegessen. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und die Bedienung (alle) sehr freundlich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

I was there recently and paid over €30 for two small schnitzels, some sauce, a small side dish, no salad and two Pepsi. The price was not appropriate for what was served and was completely overpriced compared to other restaurants in the surrounding area. I'll save myself another visit and go somewhere else.

Waren im Urlaub zu Gast, gerne wieder, alles in allem, ein guter Tip um Essen zu gehen.

Am Markt findet man das Restaurant 'Hopfenlaube' (am anderen Ende das Rathaus). Wir haben zum Abendessen reserviert und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Es ist ein Lokal mit speziellem Ambiente. Das Personal war trotz vollem Haus super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden schnell bedient, das Essen kam ziemlich schnell und war hervorragend und sehr lecker. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war perfekt. Fazit: Wir kommen das nächste Mal sehr gern wieder und empfehlen das Restaurant 'Hopfenlaube'.

So ein tolles Restaurant,auch ohne Reservierung wurde uns dort ein Tisch zugewiesen. Und das Essen war sooo lecker

Das Essen war TOP und hat uns allen supergut geschmeckt! Nette Betreiber, Lokalität ist halt kein Restaurant, aber vollkommen ok. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Personal sehr freundlich und nette Gespräche an der Theke mit der Bedienung gehabt. Fisch war richtig lecker. Ich freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen.

Leider war das Restaurant auf Grund den Oldtimermarktes sehr überlaufen. Es dauerte ca. 15 min. Bis uns der einzige Kellner nach Zuruf erspähte und wir dann auch bestellen konnten. Der Tisch mit des Kaffeetassen der vorherigen Gäste wurde dann auch erst abgeräumt als unsere Getränke kamen. Die Getränke kamen schnell, der Kaffee war ok, die Bedienung freundlich und es war Kartenzahlung möglich.
