Quaint restaurant with a friendly owner. This was my first time eating parmesan soup and I can recommend it.

The staff was very accommodating and super friendly. All dishes are seasonal and homemade. The pasta is also highly recommended.

Overall I was very disappointed. The two ladies in service were very friendly, but they seemed very insecure and didn't understand our language well. For example, a lady at the next table asked whether the shrimp on offer had been deveined. Unfortunately, your question was not understood. The boss, however, came across as very unsympathetic in his tone and demeanor. I ordered a mixed fish platter with vegetables. What I got was a plate with two pieces of tuna and a piece of pulko. When I think of a MIXED fish platter, I imagine something other than just one type of fish. Especially at a price of just under €28. The menu included, for example, dishes with salmon, swordfish or shrimp. So it should have been entirely possible to actually put a mixed fish platter on the table rather than the disappointing plate I received. My comment about this was smiled away by the service staff without addressing it. The name “mixed fish platter” on the memory card is misleading! I also think that paying almost 6 euros for a 0.4 juice spritzer is excessive. I can neither recommend this restaurant nor will I visit it again. Price/performance ratio doesn't fit!

The appetizer platter was great. The main courses were just mediocre. Spaghetti Aglio e Olio didn't even have any fresh chili pieces, just ground dry chili. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired, inattentive, slow, the bill took almost 25 minutes. The boss of the house came out of the kitchen every now and then and seemed extremely annoyed. Unfortunately not a nice atmosphere.

Very varied menu, great food, very fresh. I really liked the atmosphere. The music in the background is not too loud, so a conversation while eating is also pleasant. The owner/head chef is very personable, walks through the restaurant, had a nice conversation after the meal. Price-performance ratio is right. We recommend!!!

Mega!!! Went there for lunch and were warmly welcomed and looked after. Nothing to complain about in terms of taste Prices top. We'd love to come back

Ankom Koblenz 16.mai med hund. Gått Rheinsteig 120 km. Vi var sultne og lei av tyske kjøkken. Vi fant en perle. Denne bistroen traff oss i hjertet. Vi valgte en 4 retters til 76 €. Italiensk mat uten pizza på menyen. Sånn skal det være. Smakene dro oss helt til Italias kjøkken. Verdens beste på rene smaker uten sauser. En flaske rosévin av ypperste klasse ble som balsam for slitne føtter. Takk for ypperlig service. Byens beste. Kanskje Tysklands beste italienske. Anbefales på det varmeste

The last time was 3 years ago and it was perfect, as it was then and a few times before. One star less for the service because it was very busy and the service at the table was quite stressful. But the food is still perfect and sufficient.👍

I was lucky enough to find this restaurant last night. Not just the standardized dishes, but also selected delicacies on the daily menu. Decent portions for a good price. Nice wine list. Thanks to the waitress for the great service.

Recently we were in the cauldron for the first time. Many people rave about this restaurant and I could well imagine that it can also be very satisfying for lunch. Portions are large. The noodles are nothing special and there is room for improvement in terms of taste. The waitress was probably still learning, but there were misunderstandings and she walked a little slower. When we got home, we decided not to go to the witch's cauldron again because we first had to wash all our clothes and hair properly, otherwise you can't get the smell out and that's not pleasant and a co-criterion for us personally.

We were there last night because we were staying in the hotel near the restaurant in Koblenz for work. After a quick internet search, we ended up at the Hexenkessel. We immediately liked the atmosphere with the old furniture and the small, cozy restaurant. When we arrived there were only three tables occupied. We then ordered and after more than an hour - tables that were occupied after us had already had their food - we asked if they had forgotten us. There was no apology, just a stammered "there's a lot going on, something like that can happen." That may be true, but as I said, we were the fourth table occupied and the place was very small. A reasonably good waitress would have noticed that something was wrong. After about 20 more minutes the food came, it was without exception good and plentiful and we were satisfied. However, despite the empty glasses that were on the table, the waitress didn't ask if she could bring anything else. Finally, we ordered the bill, even though we would have liked to have had something else to drink, with the result that we were forgotten again. The service only came when we put on our jackets and got up and asked if we had paid yet. When we replied that we had ordered the bill 30 minutes ago, there was no apology. I like to give a lot of tips when the service is good, but I would rather have bitten off my tongue than said "that's right." Conclusion: Food is delicious, but the service is subpar. We have already experienced a lot, but this visit really left us speechless. Before our visit, I read in a review that the landlord yelled at his staff in a choleric manner. In retrospect, that doesn't surprise me one bit.

Tasty, beautiful, everything is right

Went there a few days ago with three people, the atmosphere is a very inviting restaurant which looks promising. Unfortunately, our expectations were disappointed because the service took a long time and couldn't answer questions about vegan options, even though it sounded completely different when we called to make a reservation. After our order was taken and everyone got what they wanted, the big disappointment came. The vegan dish was spaghetti with completely unseasoned vegetables. There was also a hair in the food. The dish was prepared again, but despite the desire to add a little spice, it was still as tasteless as before.

Very tasty, fresh pasta. Like in Italy, simple and well prepared. Very tasty dessert and good selection of wines. Paulo always has something delicious to offer and is flexible to your own wishes. Prices are really cheap for the quality offered. I enjoy eating there and have never been disappointed.

So my food didn't taste that great. However, we were there with about 20 people and others in our group enjoyed what they ate very much. And then you have to say that the staff doesn't have to deal with so many guests every day. In this respect, they handled the situation well.

Food was already better. My wife ordered a risotto. Unfortunately this was made with regular basmati rice. My seafood pasta was too salty But what really doesn't work are the dirty toilets

Wir waren seit langem mal wieder im Hexenkessel . Früher waren wir trotz der Eigenarten wie altes Mobiliar (was jetzt übrigens auseinander fällt ) und einem sehr launischen Chef , mit dem Essen sehr zufrieden. Leider können wir das jetzt nicht mehr behaupten. Mein Mann hatte Spaghetti mit Pilzen und Meeresfrüchte. Pilze könnte man suchen und es war sehr salzig. Ich hatte Risotto mit Garnelen und Orange. Die Garnelen waren gut,das Risotto geschmacklich sehr nichtssagend und LEIDER nicht aus Rundkornreis. Aber den Entschluss wirklich eine Bewertung zu schreiben habe ich getroffen als ich auf die Toilette gegangen bin. Mich stören keine Spinnennetze an der Decke oder Krümel auf dem Boden aber diese Toilette war schon tagelang nicht mehr geputzt worden. Sie war nicht nur dreckig sondern auch sehr staubig und weiter gehen ich nicht ins Detail. Wir werden auf jeden Fall nicht mehr wieder kommen.

Small, cozy and rustic. Fresh Italian cuisine at a good price. Large wine selection. You should definitely make a reservation. The highlight is the zabaglione, freshly made. Negatively and that's not possible, the choleric owner who makes the staff look good in front of the guests is impossible.

Main courses very tasty throughout and a great tiramisu. A small restaurant with great family charm. Thank you for a nice and delicious end to the year!

Essen und Bedienung = 5 Sterne Aber das Ambiente lässt zu wünschen übrig.

Das Restaurant ist klein und könnte vermutlich so auch in Italien liegen. Ohne permanente italienische Musik kann man sich bei dezenter Raumdeko auf den Gesprächspartner konzentrieren. Das Essen ist gut (mehr aber auch nicht). Von leckerem Thunfisch bis zu Vegetarische ist für jeden was dabei. Bemerkenswert fand ich den Kartoffelbrei, der (vorher angefragt) tatsächlich selbstgemacht war! Summa sumarum: Ordentlich ohne großen Schnickschnack. Gutes Essen auf dem Teller ohne besondere Anrichte. Dafür ist der Preis "konkurrenzfähig" - mir persönlich jedoch dafür zu teuer... (Erneuter Besuch fraglich.)

Heerlijk gegeten. Vriendelijke bediening. Nostalgische sfeer met bijbehorende muziek. Mooi opgemaakte borden. En goede producten. Toppertje.

Wir waren mit Freunden hier und hatten zum Glück Plätze reserviert, denn es wurde schnell voll an diesem Donnerstagabend. Wir hatten alle vier unterschiedliche Nudelgerichte und Salat bestellt und waren sehr angetan von den leckeren Nudeln und den gut abgeschmeckten Saucen. Die dreierlei Ravioli haben mit ihren unterschiedlichen Füllungen prima mit der Gorgonzola Sauce harmoniert und die Beilagensalate waren frisch und knackig. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und uns hat das Ambiente mit den unterschiedlichen Tischen und der zurückhaltenden Dekoration gut gefallen. Wenn wir wieder mal nach Koblenz kommen, gehen wir gern wieder in den Hexenkessel.

Das Essen war lecker, der Service war leicht überfordert. Trotzdem haben wir uns wohlgefühlt.

Mein Sohn und ich waren sowohl vom netten und kompetenten Service als auch vom leckeren Essen begeistert ! Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Markig uriges kleines Restaurant mit dem Fokus auf Pasta. Und eine echte Empfehlung! Das Ambiente ist mit der wilden Mischung von Stühlen aller Coleur und alten Tischen echt etwas besonderes! Und dazu noch das tolle Essen. Also wer auf Pasta steht, sollte auf jeden Fall mal vorbei kommen! Hier ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei, und wird saisonal abgestimmt.

Super leckeres Essen und freundliche Bedienung

Ich habe ein Aperol spritz bestellt, welcher direkt fachmännisch und lecker zubereitet wurde, kann ich nur empfehlen, die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr freundlich, kompetent und gutaussehend, die einrichting ist sehr heimisch und man fühlt sich wohl. Alles in allem eine seh positive Erfahrung.

Essen war geschmacklich wunderbar ! Leider war die Kellnerin alleine und das Restaurant stark besucht. Mann musste den Service ansprechen wenn man etwas bestellen wollte. Die Sauberkeit der Location ist sehr ausbaufähig.. Spinnengeweben und Dreck:( Allen in allem hat das Essen den Rest gut weggemacht

Sticky tables. Unfriendly staff and owner. No service. Had to wait at least 45 minutes to get a second drink. Long waiting times. Smells like cold smoke in the small seating area. Loud atmosphere. Sparse decoration and ambiance. Food is OK, but given the prices and bad service, I would not recommend this place.

Einfach lecker Preisleistungstverhältnis super.

Ich habe heute zum ersten Mal dort gegessen. Die Ravioli (3 Sorten Kürbis, Spinat, Pilze) waren unglaublich lecker. Obwohl die Gorgonzolasauce intensiv lecker war, konnte ich jede einzelne leckere Füllung der Ravioli schmecken. Auch die Tiramisu war sehr lecker. Essen für die Seele.

Sehr lecker. Besonders die Carbonara sind zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung ist jedoch ein Fall für sich, aber man kommt ja für das Essen.

Die Antipasti und die Penne Putanesca waren sehr schmackhaft. Der Wein ausgezeichnet. Der Preis absolut in Ordnung.

Qualität und Preis Leistung Verhältnis ist in Ordnung

Rumpsteak medium auf die Minute, Gemüse dazu frisch und lecker. Musik und Ambiente genau richtig. Chefkoch dreht ab und zu eine Runde, wirklich sympathisch. Wein wurde ohne Probleme zurück genommen, neuer kam und musste nicht extra gezahlt werden. Toller Laden!

Das bestellte Essen war sehr lecker, gut gewürzt, sehr geschmackvoll und es kam innerhalb von 15 min. nach Bestellung. Pulpo al Forno sehr zu empfehlen.

Essen war gut, die Speisekarte sehr reichhaltig, die Bedienung leider unfreundlich, sehr unaufmerksam und wir wurden mehrfach ignoriert. Sind lange vor leeren Gläsern und Tellern gesessen, keiner hat gefragt, ob wir noch etwas brauchen oder hat abgeräumt, obwohl die Bedienungen mehrmals am Nebentisch waren. Einrichtung etwas verwahrlost, Kerzenhalter war kaputt und hatte eine dicke Staubschicht, eine Damentoilette war defekt, Zustand der Herrentoilette mau. Wir mussten sehr lange auf das Essen warten, obwohl es nicht voll war. Die Ravioli wurden ohne jegliche Deko serviert, die Tagliatelle waren gut, hier gab es noch Rucola und Parmesan als Garnitur.

We found this by chance, and the window sign reads Paolo’s restaurant Hexenkessel so we are unsure, if it is under new management. Notwithstanding that, it was cosy, friendly and a nice Italian menu. Food was good although it was a long wait, we waited over an hour for our main course. Would definitely highly recommend.
