La Gondola in Koblenz

I used to go there often with my parents. Today I was in Koblenz for work and wanted to reminisce about old times. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered linguine with seafood for just under €17. What the chef and the plate delivered was very meager. A good handful of mussels and, believe it or not, two small pieces of octopus...that was it...really bad for the price...plus the very cool service...a shame for me, but never mind...there are plenty of alternatives.

I've rarely experienced such excellent service. It's still old-school. The food is also very good, with a wide selection.

Bei jedem Besuch war der Chef sehr überheblich. Er hat seine Stammgäste, zu denen er freundlich ist. Aber ansonsten, sehr unangenehm, unfreundlich, unsympathisch. Vielleicht ist er eingebildet auf die Tatsache, dass sein Lokal, das Lieblingsrestaurant vom Thomas Anders ist. Die positive Bewertungen schreibt wahrscheinlich der Chef selbe, oder Thomas Anders, oder Gäste, die einfach Glück an dem Tag hatten. Wir fragen uns nach wie vor, was ist ihm in den Kopf gestiegen? Es gibt so viele andere gute italienische Restaurants in der Stadt, er hat viel Konkurrenz. Vielleicht findet er sich persönlich so unwiderstehlich und attraktiv, deshalb so überheblich und dadurch peinlich. Schade, dass er niemanden hat, der ihm sagen könnte, wie armselig das ist.

Was here on a Saturday without a reservation, lucky to get a spot. The food was excellent, the service outstanding. If I'm ever there again, I'd be happy to come back.

It was our first time here and we had the lukewarm pulpo salad, loup de mer, sea bream for two and veal liver. This restaurant was recommended to us by friends as a Koblenz institution - and rightly so! The food was solid, the ingredients were fresh and the preparation was harmonious. Particularly noteworthy is the very friendly and personable service, which made us feel completely at home. The ambience is rather old-school, but that's exactly what gives the restaurant its special charm. Price-performance is absolutely fair – we would love to come back!

Ich kann dieses Restaurant jedem wärmstens empfehlen. Man bekommt sein Essen, welches super authentisch und schmackhaft ist, in großen Porzellanschüsseln und man kommt sich vor, als wäre man zum Mittagessen bei der Nonna. Das Personal war super freundlich und sehr Kinderlieb, wenn ich wieder in Koblenz bin, werde ich dieses Restaurant zu 100% wieder aufsuchen

Wo kommen nur die guten Bewertungen her ? Schlechter und überheblicher Service, Überheblicher Geschäftsführer, mittelmässige Gerichte zu deutlich überhöhten Preisen...Warum sollte ich mir das als gut zahlender Gast gefallen lassen ? Da gibt es viele neue und bessere Lokalitäten in Koblenz. Ein weiteres Beispiel von einem schnellem Aufstieg in der Gastrobranche, bei dem dann der Service und die Qualität nicht mehr zählt.

Die Pizza war wiederlich und für den absolut teuren Preis hat Mann eine kleine Pizza bekommen die verbrannt war und die Vorspeise war genau so wiederlich, alles verbrannt

So first of all, our food was really, really good! There were 6 of us and we actually wanted to go out for pizza, unfortunately there was neither pizza nor bruscetta that evening 🤗 so we turned around and ate all pasta. Which again was very good! Points are only deducted because we were served later than other guests who arrived some time after us and we had already placed our order long ago. As I said, the cuisine/pasta is very tasty and also recommended.

Heerlijk eten en een fijne bediening Italiaanse keuken zoals het hoort te zijn . Echt 1 van de beste Italiaanse ervaring die wij in Duitsland hebben mogen ervaren en we komen er al 26jaar diversen keren per jaar. Dus zeker meer dan een aanrader als je in Koblenz bent. Wij hadden een calzone en een speciale spaghetti, waar eigenlijk ook paprika in zat maar op mijn verzoek eruit werd gehaald Vooraf nog bruschetta deze was heerlijk Heel het team bedankt voor deze mooie avond. La Gondola is one of my favorite restaurants in Koblenz. I really like the food and the attentive service is top notch. The mussels in tomato stock are highly recommended. The Tagliatelle Tricolore was also great.

La Gondola is a quasi-formal Italian restaurant...Quasi-formal in that the waiters are all in uniform, but the vibe of the place is very casual. The waiters are cheerful and efficient and seem to be doing 2 things at once. We arrived at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm reservation, and had to wait outside because the restaurant was too crowded, but when 7:30pm came, our table was ready. The meal was a lot of fun and the food was excellent. All in all, an enjoyable experience.

Never again! The only point there is for the efforts that we even got a table. When we ordered, we already had a feeling of arrogance and didn't want to let the guest (i.e. us) speak out. Ok...we placed our order (antipasti for both of us, as well as two pasta dishes, wine & water), we received our drinks in an acceptable time, as well as bread and homemade butter. And then nothing came, just other guests who had their food very quickly. After about an hour we asked and the error analysis was discussed by accusingly asking the waiter to finish. Is the guest king here? The excuse was that we ordered an appetizer, but it didn't end up on our table. We had lost our appetite and all we wanted was the bill for our drinks. This came in full, with repeated words, something went wrong. The excuse for such a failure should be different if you want to receive guests for a longer period of time. Everyone knows nobody is perfect. I also know myself, you can react completely differently.

Fantastic food. We had pasta with fresh truffles, a calzone and tiramisu. It was absolutely amazing. Very good quality! And fairly priced. You can tell how passionate the boss is about his calling. It was a very great pleasure!

Rundum gelungener Abend Sehr zuvorkommender Service, sehr gute Auswahl an Speisen und Weinen. Meiner Ansicht nach, beruhen viele schlechte Bewertungen hier auf dem Verhalten der Gäste selbst. All around successful evening. Extremely friendly older gentleman who served you, the woman was rather snippy but was only our server at the beginning. The food was a success overall, the ambience is a bit clocky but I like it.

We dachten dat het rustig zou zijn, maar we hadden moeten reserveren, het zat bijna vol. We kregen nog een tafeltje, en het was ontzettend lekker, elke gang was top! Waar zijn nog dit soort restaurants die zoveel effort in het eren stoppen. Niet snel scoren maar gedegen koken.

Great! Original Italian spaghetti carbonara (without cream sauce!) on the menu is, for me, a guarantee that the cuisine is actually Italian. Sind in der grossen Gruppe zum Mittagessen eingekehrt. Von Anfang an war die Bedienung relativ schleppend. Nach Getränken wurde anfangs überhaupt nicht gefragt. Irgendwann kam dann die Frage nach Speisen und Getränken, ok... man denkt jetzt es geht irgendwann los, aber leider zu früh gefreut. 2 Kinder in unserer Gesellschaft haben relativ schnell ihr Essen bekommen aber bei uns dauerte es ca. 30 Minuten, bis dahin waren die Kinder durch und haben sich bloss noch gelangweilt. Zum Essen selbst, Pizza mit Teig der zu dick war, Nudeln in jeder Art, sei das mit Lachs, Meeresfrüchten oder sonstwas, leider sehr beschränkt, es reicht nicht bloss ein paar Muscheln rauf zu schmeissen um das als "Frutti di Mare" zu verkaufen, von der Grösse der Portion mal abgesehen. Alles in allem, da wär mehr draus zu machen, Lokal ist gut besucht und daran wird wahrscheinlich extrem gespart!

We stopped with some friends for lunch, a kind and friendly welcome, they served us excellent dishes with top quality wines, so satisfied that we also booked for dinner... Again we stopped to taste a delicious fish dinner in 2024, always excellent service with an unexpected fish broth for which we complimented all the staff....

The service is lousy! The food was miserable Bay leaves in pasta with salmon? Tastes like a wet cellar The waiting time for lunch was approximately 1 hour 45 minutes If you ask if you have been forgotten, you will be barked “No”. Not recommendable!!! Never ever

Catastrophic would be a compliment here. Service sloppy and overwhelmed, no one is responsible for anything or everything, complete confusion. I felt like I was asked 100 times whether I had already ordered or whether I had already received my food. They were questions, they weren't really of interest. Waiting time epic for Hmmm????? I'm still at a loss for words.

Reserved a week in advance for a 30th birthday. Everything was fine on the phone and table decorations and a surprise were promised. When we arrived there we were greeted coldly and it seemed as if they had no desire to serve us. We were then forgotten later! Once and never again.

Went here for dinner today at 6 p.m. Service was very friendly. We had ordered pizza. The pizzas tasted okay, but they were quite small and more like a children's pizza and at 12.80 it was a proud price. My side salad consisted more of onions than lettuce. The Pils I ordered had a strange taste, as if the barrel was bad.

Unfortunately a total failure! We have heard so many good things and were extremely disappointed. Without a reservation we got a table for three people today for Saturday at 7 p.m. We could choose inside or outside. Despite the downpour, we opted for the outside table. The employee at the reception was very friendly and always had a light-hearted saying on his lips. Unfortunately it took almost a quarter of an hour until we had the tickets. In general, waiting times were above average. The waiter who took our order seemed stressed and slightly annoyed. When we finally got our drinks, my pilsner tasted like it had been stirred with an anchovy. Very difficult taste to describe. I immediately complained about this and the waitress offered me an alternative without any problem. The newly received wheat was excellent. We ordered a calzone, pasta with crabs, garlic baguette and a children's margarita. For a real Italian this shouldn't be a problem. I was more than disappointed with my calzone. The dough was soggy, the contents were too little and consisted mainly of artichokes. My plate became wetter with every forkful. I've had better calzones at the Turkish kebab shop. Too bad. My wife's noodles were okay, but nothing more. There was no taste of the garlic described and it was generally a bit bland. In terms of quantity, it wouldn't have been enough for me. More like a blob for almost €15. My son really enjoyed the margarita, and that's why I get one star. Price-performance went like this. We wanted the bruschetta exclusively with garlic for our son. The portion consisted of four small, thin slices of white bread with lots of garlic and enough oil on top. The price was reduced to €5 for us, which was a nice gesture and earned another star in the rating. We had to wait again for the bill and to top it off there were two drinks on it that belonged to the neighboring table. Unfortunately I only noticed this after paying. The waitress immediately apologized and justified herself and paid me back the overpaid €9.30 with a €10 note. So I got part of my tip back. Well...we tried, but we won't be back. We've eaten MUCH better at the Italian restaurant.

Pizza wasn't completely cooked through and the dough is better on some ready-made pizzas.

Wir sind seit Jahren Stammgäste bei La Gondola. Das Personal von Chef und Chefin bis hin zu den Kellnern ist immer sehr freundlich und bemüht. Aufgrund des großen Zuspruchs des Restaurants sollte man reservieren und muss sich in der Rush Hour auch mal etwas gedulden. Das Essen ist auf jeden Fall sehr gut und zu fairen Preisen.

Food was okay, but you didn't get full. You had to wait a long time for the bill and the service was quite unfriendly. You just didn't feel comfortable.

Friendly, dedicated staff. Very good food. But the tables and chairs are a little too close together. Personally, I find contact with the person sitting next to me uncomfortable.

There were four of us and we all ordered something to drink. Two drinks came right. One drink came wrong. My wife's drink, a cola, didn't come at all. After politely asking, the wrong drink was replaced with the correct one, but my wife's cola was still missing. The boss stood next to us a few minutes later and prepared a sole for a guest. The waiter who was responsible for our table walked past him and my wife wanted to politely ask him about the still missing Coke. The boss stopped this with a verbal outburst towards my wife. “First he has to get a knife for the table over there.” When the boss had finished with the fish, I told him - after dessert had already been served - that the Coke was still missing. He then began to argue with me excitedly and became loud. I explained the matter to him, complained - now annoyed and of course loudly - and was then told that the “mood here at the table wasn't that good” and that he refused to continue serving us. We finished eating and actually the Col - which we ordered half an hour before - was no longer served! In decades of our restaurant visits we have never experienced anything like this. And certainly not that we were refused service at the table and a drink we ordered, even though we were in the right! Conclusion: never again!!!

Wir waren zu viert hatten alle etwas zu trinken bestellt. Zwei Getränke kamen richtig. Ein Getränk kam falsch. Das Getränk meiner Frau, eine Cola, kam gar nicht. Nach einer höflichen Nachfrage wurde das falsche Getränk ersetzt durch das richtige, aber die Cola meiner Frau fehlte noch immer. Der Chef, stand wenige Minuten später neben uns und bereitete eine Seezunge für einen Gast zu. Der Kellner, der für unseren Tisch zuständig war, ging an ihm vorbei und meine Frau wollte ihn höflich auf die nach wie vor fehlende Cola ansprechen. Das unterband der Chef mit einem verbalen Ausraster in Richtung meiner Frau. „Der muss jetzt zuerst ein Messer für den Tisch dahinten holen“. Als der Chef mit dem Fisch fertig war, sagte ich ihm - nachdem mittlerweile schon der Nachtisch serviert worden war - dass noch immer die Cola fehle. Daraufhin fing er mit mir an, aufgeregt zu diskutieren und wurde laut. Ich habe ihm die Sache geschildert, mich - mittlerweile genervt und dadurch natürlich auch laut - beschwert und durfte mir dann anhören, dass die „Stimmung hier am Tisch nicht so gut sei“ und dass er sich weigere, uns weiterhin zu bedienen. Wir haben zu Ende gegessen und tatsächlich wurde die - eine halbe Stunde vorher bestellte - Col nicht mehr nachgereicht! In Jahrzehnten unserer Restaurantbesuche haben wir so etwas noch nicht erlebt Und schon gar nicht, dass man uns, obwohl wir im Recht waren, den Service am Tisch und ein bestelltes Getränk verweigerte! Fazit: nie wieder!!!

An “original” Italian restaurant with delicious food. We felt very comfortable and found the staff extremely friendly. The homemade pasta (around €11-14 per portion) was very delicious and had an excellent portion size. Price/performance ratio is right here! We'd love to come back! Thanks

Wir waren heute Mittag das erste mal in dem Restaurant. Man wurde direkt aus allen Ecken mit einem freundlichen Hallo begrüßt. Das ist uns sehr positiv aufgefallen. Wir hatten eine Pizza und eine Calzone. Uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt 😀 Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und sehen ob diese Freundlichkeit beständigheit hat 😏

Das La Gondola gilt als eines der besten italienischen Restaurants in Koblenz. Das Essen ist sehr gut, der Service ein Original. Mir persönlich ist es in dem Restaurant zu eng und das Ambiente zu klassisch, aber das ist ja bekanntlich Geschmackssache. Zusammenfassend ein wirklich gutes, gediegendes italienisches Restaurant.

Wir mussten 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen warten, was uns jedoch am zweiten Weihnachtstag nicht besonders störte. Leider fand die Mehrheit unserer Gruppe das Essen nicht ansprechend. Die Minestrone war geschmacklos, und auch die Spaghetti Carbonara waren ziemlich fade. Die Fleischgerichte mit Pfeffersoße waren ebenfalls enttäuschend. Positiv anzumerken ist jedoch die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Trotzdem werden wir dieses Restaurant nicht erneut besuchen. Sorry.

Einfach fein! Sind einmal pro Jahr im Rahmen eines Familienbesuches hier. Traditionelles italienisches Essen auf sehr hohem Niveau, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, top Servicequalität und ein Geschmackserlebnis der feinen Art.

Me parece un sitio espectacular para ir a cenar y los camareros son amables! No entendemos que cada vez que llamo para reservar me cuelgan el teléfono vuelvo a llamar me dicen que no me escuchan y así siempre que voy(fui 3 veces a cenar aqui) esta vez a la tercera que llamo me dicen que no hay sitio para 4 personas que si somos 2 que si( al final nos acercamos al restaurante igualmente y sí que había sitio de sobra..) no lo entiendo.. pero bueno todo está rico.

Mein Lieblingsitaliener in Koblenz. Ich liebe das Ambiente, den freundlich und witzigen Service, so liebevoll. Das Essen ist immer frisch und köstlich. Ich kann die Vorspeisen, die Pasta und auf jeden Fall den Nachtisch empfehlen. Kaffee ist ebenfalls vorzüglich. Ich trinke dort am liebsten Aperol Spritz, esse oft die Pasta mit Trüffel und zum Schluss Tiramisu und Creme brûlé, plus Kaffee und den super tollen Amaretto. Draußen wie drinnen lässt es sich sehr gut sitzen. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend!

Belle carte de pâtes, de pizzas mais aussi de viandes et de poissons. Service très efficace. Patrons très sympathiques parlant un peu le français. Portions généreuses. Produits maisons. Belle carte de vins italiens à des prix très correctes (coefficient x 2,5). Pousse café offert par le patron. Réservation fortement recommandée.

Das Tagesmenü 2 + Tomatensuppe Sehr lecker !

We stayed in Koblenz for a five night holiday. Our first night was a Monday and all of the restaurants in our immediate vicinity were closed. We therefore strode out to find somewhere to eat. The first place we found was La Gondola. Our visit was therefore accidental. But what a happy accident! We arrived before opening time but were welcomed anyway. The restaurant filled quickly with what were obviously, in the main, regular and local clients. To us this was a very good sign and our anticipation was quickly justified. This was, without doubt, the best Italian meal we have ever had (including our many visits to Italy). The food quality was excellent and the tastes delighted our palates. The service was equally good and very friendly. The restaurant is within a few minutes walk of the area on the River Rhine where the cruise ships dock and we would recommend it to any of their passengers. Quite naturally the staff lavished their attentions on their regulars. We were not in a hurry so it was not a problem for us that our meal probably took longer than that of the other clients.

Staff was very friendly, good service and the food tasted great. Would recommend!

An einem Samstag Abend etwas chaotisch und sehr laut, da proppevoll. Aber das Essen ist ein Traum und entschädigt für alles!

We hadden op zaterdag geen reservering en het restaurant was helemaal vol. Gabriele, de eigenaar, heeft alles gedaan om voor ons een tafel te prepareren. Ik heb nooit eerder zo een vriendelijke en enthousiaste eigenaar gezien. Het eten was een dikke 10, in een woord fenomenaal. Mille grazie Gabriele de José el spagnolo. Wir sind schon so oft an dem Restaurant vorbeigelaufen und dann haben wir es auch endlich mal geschafft einen Tisch zu reservieren. Am Beginn des Abends waren die Kellner auch noch recht Aufmerksam und freundlich. Je später und voller es wurde desto mehr merkte man, dass es zwei Kategorien Gäste gab: die namenlosen, die mal reservieren und die Stammgäste, die bereits am Eingang mit großem Hallo empfangen wurden und denen man im verlaufe auch eine andere Art der Aufmerksam schenkte. Die Dessertkarte wurde uns beispielsweise gebracht und bis wir bestellt hatten lag diese eine gute halbe Stunde da - und wir hatten uns schnell entschieden. Was dann alle Gäste gemein haben ist ein Likör aufs Haus wenn man die Rechnung begleicht. Auch wenn das Essen ganz gut war, ich werde von einem weiteren Besuch absehen. Es gibt auch noch andere Restaurants in denen man sich von der ersten Minute an wohler fühlt.

Good choice of dishes (over 100), plus daily specials. This is a regular Italian restaurant and the prices are reasonable. The house white wine (Trebbiano) should have been colder. Some of the staff were friendly, others not so.

Das Restaurant war super voll,was mir sagt.....das Essen muss gut sein.....und tatsächlich hat es uns bombe geschmeckt. Daumen hoch....werde wieder hingehen.....und auf jeden Fall sollte man besser eine Tischreservierung machen.

Ein absolut gelungener Abend in dem fantastischen Restaurant. Service der Spitzenklasse, das Essen war von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert einfach unglaublich lecker. Auf die Sonderwünsche wurde unverzüglich eingegangen. Ich bin fasziniert

Sehr leckeres Essen: Calzone und Salat mit Meeresfrüchten. Dazu gab es eine kleine Vorspeise (Brot, Pizzabrötchen, kleines Dreieck Pizza Margerita ohne Käse) kostenlos.

Überdurchschnittlich, dabei preislich im Rahmen

Voll die Abzocke. Wir waren mit 6 Personen dort und wollten eine Antipasti Platte für 6 Personen. Stand so nicht auf der Karte, nur ein Antipasti Teller für 2 Personen für 17€. Also haben wir gefragt, ob wir eine Platte für 6 Personen bekommen könnten? Ja, kein Problem. Es kam eine Platte mit Antipasti mit verschiedenen Sachen, nichts besonders,aber gut. Wir haben unsere Hauptspeisen gegessen und es war auch so weit alles in Ordnung. Dann kann die Rechnung. Für die mittelmäßige Antipasti Platte wurde uns für jede Person 12€ berechnet, das waren dann 72€ für Antipasti. Eine Unverschämtheit. Für drei Teller hätten wir 51€ bezahlt. Wir gehen jetzt nicht mehr hin. So hält man sich Kundschaft!

In diesem Lokal war ich das erste und letzte Mal. Wir sind auf Empfehlung dort hin. Zu Beginn war alles okay, jedoch kam nach der ersten Getränkebestellung keine Bedingung mehr um weiter Getränke bestellen zu können,wir mussten durch winken und rufen uns bemerkbar machen. Es kamen die Vorspeisen aber Getränke immer noch nicht. Die Portionen der Hauptgerichte (kamen nach fast 1,5 Stunden!! Und eins davon wurde vergessen!!! waren mehr als klein,mein "Filetopf" war ein "Töpfchen" mit fertig Soße und für 21€ ein paar Stückchen trockenes Fleisch und die Rösti-beilage für auch nochmal 1,90€ war ein Witz. Wenn nach langer Zeit mal wieder ein Bier gebracht wurde war das Glas nur halb voll. Der Nachtisch war zum Teil nicht mehr zu haben,ebenso wie bei den Getränken welche "aufs Haus" gehen. Schade,nicht zu empfehlen
