Restaurant Herberts

All in all, only the appetizer met our expectations. We had high hopes for the restaurant after reading the menu, expecting dishes that were a bit different from the usual fare. This only seemed to be the case on paper; the execution was rather mediocre. For our appetizer, we had pumpkin soup. Our main courses were either a wild herb salad with lukewarm duck breast and raspberry dressing, or a venison roulade with mushroom filling, dumplings, and red cabbage. For dessert, we ordered warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. The food arrived very quickly after we ordered, so either the chef was perfectly organized, or everything was pre-cooked and plated well in advance—we'll see. The soup was indeed delicious. The wild herb salad was drowned in raspberry dressing, so that everything tasted only of raspberry and sweetness. The duck breast might have been warm when it was placed on the salad, but it was cold at the table. Neither the taste nor the menu's description was convincing. The roulade tasted okay, but unfortunately it was bland; I could barely detect the mushroom filling, the meat was dry, and the red cabbage was good. The apple strudel for dessert was rather below average. The puff pastry was soggy, the filling average, and the vanilla ice cream tasted like vanilla—there was no sign of quality. Our criticism was met with a dismissive attitude. I'd like to be proven wrong. I suspect they use 90% mass-produced ingredients; there's not much homemade here, unfortunately! At least the prices are only mid-range. If we ever visit Warnemünde again, we'll definitely steer clear of this place.

A very nice restaurant with excellent food and very good service.

We were a group of 10 people, tables were quickly arranged, and the server was very nice, friendly, and attentive. We had goat cheese salad, roulade, seasoned meat, potato pancakes, and waffles. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. Highly recommended.

We spontaneously decided to eat here on October 28, 2025. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and super friendly staff. Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back.

Beautiful ambiance, attentive and friendly service. The food was very tasty. I just thought that a side of vegetables or a salad would have gone better with the filet mignon with baked potatoes than two large pieces of garlic baguette, which I left completely unfinished. The bottle of white wine should have been considerably cooler for my taste.

Super tasty and above all great service

Just had Herbert's fish platter. The salmon was top-notch, the zander was top-notch, and the halibut was too. The rice and sauce were also perfect. I had to add a little salt to the zander, but better that way than the chef oversalting it. Keep up the good work!

I felt very comfortable here. The service was very friendly, and I had the feeling that the employees enjoyed their work. The food arrived quickly and completely met my expectations.

The cod was very good, but the potatoes and mustard butter were slapped on without much imagination. The stuffed chicken breast was also very dry. The food was rather disappointing, but the service was friendly.

If you want to eat delicious, fresh fish at a great price, this is the place to go! This restaurant has become a permanent fixture for me—no visit to Warnemünde is complete without Herbert's! ☺️👍

Delicious fish with leeks and currywurst with homemade sauce, simply delicious. Our dog got a dog meal for €3, a nice, simple treat. The service staff was attentive and friendly. Of course, I didn't get the recipe for the currywurst sauce. I'd definitely go back, though.

Great restaurant with a wide selection of truly delicious dishes. Moderate prices for truly generous portions on the plate, served by very friendly staff. We will dine at Herberts Restaurant again when the opportunity arises and would happily recommend it.

A fairly expensive restaurant that doesn't live up to expectations. The shrimp appetizer was exceptional, and the main courses were OK. The waiter made an effort and was very friendly despite the stress and the thunderstorm... the bar manager is a disgrace... we had a complaint and it was dismissed as ignorance... very unprofessional behavior.

Maybe I'm being too critical, but the food was excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly. Even though our occasion wasn't a joyful one, we received a friendly welcome.

Upon request, I was served spaghetti with wild mushrooms. Simply fantastic. My companion had three kinds of fish and was also very satisfied. Plus, the great location right on the quay by the sea, wonderful 😃

We were there as part of a larger group (20 people), and despite the size of the group, the food was served at a reasonable distance. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and handled the large group very well.

Beautifully decorated and nice place in a good location with a view of the old part of the town. We didn't try the food. We only had drinks (beer, wine). A bright and sunny day in Warnemünde and we enjoyed the terrace. The toilet is very good.

The restaurant is highly recommended, especially for your four-legged friends! They're treated like real guests. They're greeted just like you are, and of course, you can even order a little something for them for a small fee. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. A big thumbs up for everything! Highly recommended!

Great food, great service and great view

Portions were large, but some were a bit bland (beans, for example). Relatively expensive.

We spent two very pleasant evenings here. We chose a variety of starters and main courses, all very good. The craftsmanship is fantastic, making eating out fun. Plus, the service was fantastic. Nicole made both evenings a real experience for us, thank you so much. One more tip for some "stressed-out guests": stay strong, enjoy, smile, don't stress yourself or the staff, you're on vacation...

This place was really cute, but no one really spoke English, so we had to translate a few things with our phone. The fish was pretty good, but I think we would have liked it fried harder. They do not have tarter sauce, and they give you some mayonnaise to eat with it. I assume the mayonnaise is to eat with the fish, we did not eat it. Throw some salt and pepper on it with ketchup, and it can help. The people take awhile to check on your table, so much so we got up and went inside to pay. I do not know these folks customs or if they had a problem with us being black, but it was a little weird. I wouldn't eat here again, but appreciate the experience.

Delicious drinks and very friendly service. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, as we spent a pleasant evening getting to know each other here as a group.

Had really delicious pizza 🍕 and lasagna. Service was super fast. Starter and snack arrived just then... shortly after, the main course was on the table. Fresh and delicious. The waiter asks every time you walk past if everything is OK or if you have any other requests. Towards the end, it felt rather hectic, like they were asking too many questions. But that's a matter of opinion. The service was really good. I can recommend it!

We vacation on the Baltic Sea every year and have now been to Herberts for the fifth time. The food is always excellent, and the service staff is very friendly and professional.

We sat on the upper terrace with a wonderful view over the old river. The service was friendly and attentive. The drinks came quickly and were good. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty! Our two dogs were no problem at all; they even offered a dog menu for €3. Overall, the price was a bit higher, but well worth it. We'd love to come back!

An excellent and very spacious restaurant with stunning views. The establishment has a large outdoor terrace for enjoying its excellent cuisine and a balcony where you can sample its extensive culinary offerings and enjoy its magnificent views. The service is very professional, friendly, and approachable. The cleanliness and presentation are exemplary. The menu is excellent, except for the wine list, which is very limited. The meat and potato side dish were exquisite. The waiter who served me was very kind and polite, but he was wearing old slippers... The worst thing was the price. Quite high. And the wines, besides being scarce, are quite expensive. But enjoying excellent dishes while enjoying the views comes at a price. And nothing good comes for free.

The location is very beautiful, right by the old river. The food is delicious, with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented, a feast for the eyes. The staff is also very friendly. Nicole served us and was very attentive. All in all, a well-rounded experience.

Good restaurant with a great view. The restaurant has a large outdoor terrace and a balcony where you can eat and enjoy the view. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. 👍 The food is rather average... it lacked some seasoning and the fried potatoes were undercooked. The food was okay, but not a highlight. The waiter who served me was very nice and polite, but he was walking around in old sneakers... hmm... okay... they're supposed to be comfortable, but I didn't think they suited the ambiance. 🙄 The prices are, like everywhere else in Warnemünde, on the higher end, but you don't really pay attention to that on vacation. 🤷‍♂️🥳

Sehr schneller Service - eigentlich fast ein wenig schade, insbesondere wenn man eine Flasche Wein bestellt (war sehr gut) und doch ein wenig sitzen würde (Restaurant war auch leer, daher wäre das kein Problem gewesen).

So hmmm... My curry was rather sober, it wasn't just salt that was missing. The mashed potatoes were too salty for the other 5 guests. The service was top notch. I particularly liked the man with the shaker. The chef is certainly still capable of learning.

If you want to enjoy Warnemünde, you should come here. Most beautiful place! On the sun terrace on the Alter Strom with a view of the fishing boats, seagulls, the river and the row of houses on the opposite bank, flower beds all the way to the lighthouse. The menu is varied. Everything that is ordered is visually appealing and lovingly prepared and prepared to perfection. Kudos to the kitchen! Great restaurant with great staff. Quick, one. Sayings on the lips and the food was great. The herrings are a pleasure from the first bite. When you're there you definitely have to go to the toilet, the wallpaper is amazing. All in all a great restaurant and a great evening.

We were guests there on Saturday with 7 people and didn't feel satisfied with a high-priced restaurant in Warnemünde with a lot of local competition. First of all, all the drinks arrived differently in 3 stages within a time window of 8 minutes. In addition, the portions were definitely not enough for everyone, everyone was still hungry after eating, we even had to order a large waffle with ice cream for the child because the portion was empty in 3 minutes. The good filet mignon was ordered well-done, unfortunately it arrived medium-rare. Some of the baked potatoes were 1/3 raw and not edible. Unfortunately, this was a spontaneous visit as there was no more space in the neighboring shops. Definitely the last visit when it comes to value for money.

The location on the Alter Strom offers a beautiful backdrop that is perfect for cozy hours. We sat together in a relaxed atmosphere and were well looked after by the warm and attentive service. The employees took time for us, were friendly and always looked after our well-being. We were particularly impressed by the excellent quality of the food and drinks. As a holidaymaker, we spontaneously asked for a free table for dinner, and despite it being busy, this wasn't a problem. The food was prepared quickly and freshly. My fish with chanterelles and mashed potatoes was very tasty and the portion was sufficient. The staff was very nice and friendly. I'll definitely come back here on my next vacation.

Very friendly staff and great atmosphere! 4 stars for the ambience because we sat directly under the loudspeaker that filled the entire room. Loud and rather annoying. After staying in the restaurant for over an hour, you could slowly smell the kitchen in the entire restaurant area and unfortunately it wasn't as appetizing as you would have liked. Toilets are on the first floor and the children's portion was huge for the price. We even got something to paint and everyone was extremely patient, but paying took a little longer. The food tasted great and was deliciously prepared. We would come again.

I ate here years ago and was very disappointed with it. The ambience is nice, but the food is not. Now after a few years, the owner of the restaurant keeps trying to have the bad reviews deleted. Most of the time he manages it, because after many years you can no longer prove that you were here. So, it's better to look at other people's plates before entering the restaurant.

We had a great New Year's Eve event at Herberts. Well thought out and managed. The service is friendly. But the brunette lady from the service is particularly worth mentioning, it's amazing what this woman does. She is definitely a top performer! For us, the food is rather average when compared to other restaurants in Warnemünde. Sometimes something special is missing. But the ambience and overall interaction in the house invites you to be a guest there. We also loved the schnapps. Thank you for the great turn of the year and all the best to the team!

Restaurant Herberts, we are here a little involuntarily. :) but that's another story. This time we are a larger group who just want to have a delicious meal just before the turn of the year. So into Herberts.... Subdued, quiet music, clean tables, very nicely furnished and clean toilets. Very nice staff. And I believe there is something for everyone. The price is a little higher than our normal restaurant visits... But ok. We once had pasta with tomato sauce for our dwarf. He really enjoyed it... Very good, no flaws. His food also came early, for starters, so that he could take his time eating. I had the fish platter (fried fish), with saffron sauce, snow peas and fried potatoes (originally with rice). The fish wasn't seasoned enough for me, but of course pepper and salt were available, so that's good. Unfortunately I found the salmon a bit too dry, probably in the pan for a few seconds too long. The other fish fillets were very well fried until translucent. See photos. There were also pink fried pork medallions, which we said were very tasty, but not pink, but fried. Not too dry, but not pink. There were also freshly fried mushrooms... Very harmonious and also delicious. My, purely personal, impression that the kitchen wants to exude an upscale flair, which unfortunately doesn't quite work... But it's good and nicely prepared. I think we will be able to come here again...

I can only recommend this restaurant to you, even though I was full after half a plate of cardboard, I not only ate my plate empty, but I also ate my husband's baked potato because he couldn't take it anymore, it was just delicious, yummy. There was duck leg with red cabbage and potato dumplings. Then there was beef fillet with a baked potato and garlic bread and a homemade waffle with Nutella. A visit to Herbert is 100% worth it. For my part, I will eat here more often
