I was here a few years ago, and the food was very good. So I went back with a friend. However, we were very disappointed. The sausages were good, but neither the potato salad nor the sauerbraten nor the accompanying dumplings were really seasoned. It's a shame! The service, however, was very friendly.

This is a Nuremberg restaurant located in a historic building. It gets crowded at night, so if you want a good seat overlooking the river, you'll need to make a reservation. I was able to make reservations in English as well. The building is located along the river, with some parts above the river. Once inside, the architecture remains in its original form, and it's fun just to look at it. For meals, he recommended Nurembergwurst and shoulder meat. The amount of shoulder meat is quite large, so it seems better to have it in a large group. There are different types of beer, but the quantities vary depending on the type, so it's best to look carefully. The person in charge was very friendly and responded well. I was also grateful for the tip, even if it was only 10%, which I thought was a good thing.

At first glance I was impressed. The ambience is great. We were in a large group and there were 4 dishes to choose from. One of them is vegan Schupfnudeln. This would have normally cost €16. The portion was more than tiny and the quality wasn't good for the price. Unfortunately I don't know what the other dishes on the menu were like. However, I have heard some similar things from other colleagues. In general, this restaurant seems to cater to tourists who want to spend a lot of money on little food. Very unfortunate.

There were four dishes to choose from, one of which was vegetarian/vegan, Schupfnudeln with Bolognese (see picture). The quantity was small, the Schupfnudeln were not fried (steam-cooked?) and the dish was lukewarm when received. Other guests in the party were also not impressed with their dishes. After the complaints, the service team without hesitation brought a new dish, gnocchi with tomatoes, onions, rocket & cheese, which was very good in comparison. Apparently larger companies don't place as much emphasis on the court. I can't say whether the second dish was ultimately credited as everything is billed together, but according to the waiter it was on the house. With a regular price of sixteen euros, the dish is expected to be right on the first try.

Food is far too small for the prices. Conditions are listless and don't even see that e.g. Drinks are empty. The taste of the food is also more of a Burger King level. But the ambience is nice.

Very atmospheric place, pleasant service and staff. There were not many people and it was comfortable! Order yourself a portion of sasisrk with potato salad and 2 glasses of beer. It came out to 24€. The prices are good. I recommend visiting!

I really liked it. A historic building with gracious decor, very good traditional food, and excellent service.

Went there spontaneously on Sunday afternoon after visiting the museum. Very rustic atmosphere. Unfortunately something was delivered with artificial flowers etc. The service was ok. But nothing more. The menu is Franconian down-to-earth. We had soups as a starter. Were tasty. Then 3x Cordon Bleu. Unfortunately there was fat on the plate. Fries very dark. Not recommended for the price.

A beautiful old building with a lot of history. I really liked the atmosphere. The service was friendly. I had sauerbraten with red cabbage and a dumpling. The sauerbraten was nice and tender and nicely aromatic, the sauce rounded it off. For me it could have been a bit sour in taste. The red cabbage was nice and soft and well seasoned, but a little too sweet for my taste. The dumpling was tasty and had a good consistency. Conclusion: I enjoyed it. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is completely appropriate.

The onion brussels sprouts (Zwiebelrostbraten) were uncomfortably hard. The atmosphere expected for a traditional bar, the beer properly chilled.

The hype around this place can be explained by the atmosphere which is special but nice, but service was a rushed one, food is expensive for what it was and your clothes smells like fried food after it.

It is far from Korean taste. I went there to experience German local food, but realized that the barrier to entry was high (the interior and the view out the window are good). Personally, in Germany, bread and fruit are just delicious. I don't know if they were particularly friendly, and most of the food was left behind, so I counted it as a no tip.

Unfortunately very disappointed with the quality of the food... We had sauerbraten and Wienerschnitzel. The roast was tough, couldn't eat it. Dumpling was cold and hard inside, as if it hadn't been through yet. Unfortunately the sauce wasn't edible either. Schnitzel was still edible. But, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for food. Location and interior design is quite nice.

Yesterday we had old pressed schnitzel from the day before and if there hadn't been any breading on it you could have read the newspaper and for a whopping €19.90 we're not used to that from there

Go every year, with two visits this year. First visit on a Tuesday was ok, second visit on a Sunday the food was terrible! Avoid Sunday's 😁 possibly because everything is frozen or leftovers. The price however remained the same which is that this is an expensive tourist trap. Nothing wrong with that if it a German experience you're after.

Warum geht man in ein Restaurant, doch hauptsächlich des Essens wegen. Aber genau da patzen sie hier. Wiener Schnitzel, zu dick und in Öl ausgebacken. So schmeckte es auch. Schlemmertopf mit reichlich flachsigen Fleischstücken, unessbar.

Portion (at least the gourmet pan) was a bit too small and had to be reordered. But the taste is great Food is really delicious, you can do it

Sehr schönes lokales Ambiente. Freundliches Personal. Qualität der Küche für fränkische Verhältnisse eher bescheiden. Rostbraten trocken und hart, wurde von uns zurückgegeben. Schäufele noch akzeptabel, aber auch trocken, wie aufgewärmt. Holzfällersteak ok. Wir waren schon enttäuscht und haben mehr erwartet.

Dinner for 13 people. A restaurant always full, with a spectacular atmosphere. Very loud but you don't even realize it. Typical German menu (knuckle, sausages...). It is worth visiting.

Bavarian restaurant with historic interior vibe and good beer

There were five of us there and of course we had concerns beforehand about whether the food would actually be fresh and tasty. After all, this beautiful and historically unique restaurant is located in the middle of touristy Nuremberg. However, we were more than pleasantly surprised! The roast dishes were fresh and very well baked in our own delicious sauce, the side dishes such as dumplings or spaetzle were fresh and homemade and the red cabbage and sauerkraut were homemade in the same way it should be. Plus friendly and courteous service and of course a beautiful, historic ambience!

The restaurant in the Heilig-Geist Hospital is definitely worth a visit. On the one hand a historical attraction and on the other hand real Franconian dishes in a great atmosphere - almost like in the Middle Ages. Gladly again

I went to this restaurant today to satisfy my hunger. Unfortunately I have to say that the apple spritzer I ordered had almost no carbon dioxide. In addition, the Cordon Bleu we ordered was not worth the €30 that was unfortunately paid for it. It was very dry and the one sad mushy tomato couldn't fix this dish either. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. But that doesn't justify the lost euros that are now spent on this establishment.

Visited with a Nurnberg local for dinner. The place was packed, but we were able to get a table without waiting. The interior was very nicely decorated for Christmas. Service was fast yet friendly. Food was solid. I got the venison goulash with cranberry sauce and spätzle, which was excellent. My partner got the Sauere Zipfel (sausage in onion broth), an interesting local dish. Pretty sour, but ok. Great location.

Typical place in Nuremberg, an inn like many others, but with exquisite culinary choices and normal prices, I recommend trying the Nuremberg sausages which are their specialty with sauerkraut, very fast and precise service, the only flaw is that the waiters are not exactly friendly , and can only be addressed in German.

Oh well, what I can say for certain is that after visiting this restaurant, I realized two things. 1. If you are Korean, there is a reason to go to a Korean restaurant. 2. This should not be the first restaurant on your trip to Germany.

A typical Bavarian restaurant, the Christmas decorations really added to the atmosphere. The food is good, but the portions are very small for the price. The apple strudel, on the other hand, was horrible: it tasted like a frozen one, was half-baked and chewy. The service is fast but not very polite. Overall, not a very good experience.

Food would be brought quickly, but not at the same time, which was a shame. Quality of the food is very mediocre, especially considering the fairly high prices. The service was nice, the ambience was the reason for the visit, but all in all not a recommendation.

We were here on Christmas Eve 2024, actually happy to get a table. As expected, it was full, for me that was clear, but unfortunately, like some other restaurants in the tourist scene, it was incredibly disappointing. The starter came with the main course, which was the vegan Schupfnudel variant so boring, the cheese spaetzle of the same caliber.Sauerkraut and red cabbage run down in the pot, made hot but prepared without any.Touri, come on, leave the coal and get away again.Thanks again should have known.

Elegimos este restaurante para el almuerzo de Nochebuena y fue una elección encantadora y deliciosa. Aparte de las escaleras de entrada nos ayudaron a subir, ya que teníamos un individuo con discapacidad en nuestro grupo. Disfrutamos de la decoración festiva y las pistas de un antiguo hospital. Pedimos sopa de cebolla y sauerbraten con col roja y albóndigas de patata, así como spaetzle. La comida fue excelente. La carne era extremadamente tierna y perfecta. Para completar nuestra comida disfrutamos de un helado caliente con dulce caliente encantador para servirse. El personal era amable y servicial! Definitivamente volveré.

The waiter greeted our group of 10 with the words: “Not now, right now!” No “Hello” or anything like that. Not a big deal. Food was very good, service itself too. But the tide turned again. When we were paying and again shortly before we wanted to leave the restaurant, the waiter pointed out to us that we hadn't tipped enough. Pretty cheeky! We are local and would probably be... came more often, but not like this! There are plenty of other restaurants in Nuremberg where the waitresses aren't just looking for tips...

Miraculously, we found a place for our company on Saturday evening. The service was fast and delicious! I recommend it.

It was very crowded, but luckily we were able to sit down. I should have had the Nuremberg sausage, but since it was my first day in Germany, I had the schnitzel. It was so delicious!

The staff was friendly and the service was quick, but unfortunately that couldn't improve the overall impression. The size of the restaurant was reminiscent of a gymnasium, but it was still overcrowded, some of the tables were sitting comfortably in the middle of the room (the one assigned to us, for example) and it was therefore incredibly loud in the restaurant - conversation was practically impossible. The strong smell of fried food lingered on my clothes long after the visit. The vegetarian offering was very limited and the taste was disappointing. All in all, unfortunately a rather unpleasant experience.

Fantastic. Less than five minutes after ordering, our two Schäuferle were on the table, even before the drinks! The Schäuferle is also the best I have ever eaten. I was also happy to pay the price of around €23 per Schäuferle - clear recommendation from me, we'll be back!

There was a half-hearted apology. The taste was ok, but a few fries and a veal schnitzel with 2 pieces of lamb's lettuce garnished sparingly for 28.80 is, well, sporty. When you pay, the surprise is only the Wiener Schnitzel on the bill, ok. Small discount, it's a nice gesture if you serve me a schnitzel after it's been carried through the restaurant again, which I find a bit questionable in terms of food hygiene, I don't serve that to anyone anymore, especially since it was only lukewarm. But far from it. Apparently he took my veal schnitzel from my colleague, whom he had his eye on, and I'm supposed to give her the money tomorrow. Unfortunately, he didn't have any proof of this. What a coincidence. I preferred to have it pointed out again as I walked. So I will of course give the money to my colleague with the appropriate receipt, but I will no longer go to this restaurant.

The waitress keeps making mistakes with our orders and even though we get the wrong food, she keeps coming to us and blaming us. When we ordered additional beer, even though we ordered dark beer, they came and asked if we had made a mistake and made sure we ordered dark beer. I asked again and Lot Beer came out. I was embarrassed and felt very uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I find it very unpleasant that they keep forcing me to give service tips based on what they believe. The food was delicious and I wasn't satisfied with the speed of the beer, but the only thing that made me feel bad was the attitude of the waiter. I came to Nuremberg with high expectations, but I was disappointed.

The food was fresh and delicious, even though it felt like they had been on the go for ages. The drinks (two dark beers) also only came after about 30 minutes. We had ordered cheese spaetzle and the house pot... Both were plentiful, very attractively prepared and... delicious. (Even if I don't understand the purpose of horseradish in the house pot)

Es sollte ein gemütliches Abendessen werden, doch datu ist doeses Lokal ebenso woe andere „Grosslokale“ ungeeignet. Das Essen wurde mir fast zeitgleich mit dem Aperitif an den Tisch gebracht während das Essen meiner Frau 2-3 Minuten später kam. Ein No-Go! Die Soße der Gans war etwas fade und das Lebersteak zäh.

The place was very busy on Friday during the Christmas market. We still got a table. The food was very good, especially the apple fritters are highly recommended. The staff was very friendly despite the stress. We'd love to come back.
