Wir hatten einen richtig schönen Abend mit einem sehr leckeren Essen in einem gemütlichen und stilvollen Ambiente und wurden sehr nett und aufmerksam bedient. Wir kommen gerne wieder !

Ansprechendes Ambiente, zuvorkommender Service gepaart mit sehr guter Küche, so kann unsere Erfahrung beschrieben werden. Wir hatten diverse Gerichte, vom Gänsebraten mit Knödeln über Lendchen mit Bratkartoffeln, Suppe, Garnelen, Rinderroulade bis zur Salatbowl. Alles war zu unserer uneingeschränkten Zufriedenheit . Sonderwünsche waren auch kein Problem . Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend.

The ambience is simply unbeatable, the menu is currently small but tasty. All dishes ordered were top. And the staff is also very friendly and competent. Only recommended.!!!

We had booked a table at 8:15 p.m. in the Knights' Hall through Open Table. When we arrived at 8 p.m. we were told that we were already very late, that the kitchen was almost closed and that we urgently needed to talk to Open Table about it. You couldn't go into the restaurant itself anyway, only the beer garden was possible. They kindly agreed to cook something else. We then chose the summer menu so that we could still get something. The food was solid, tomato/burrata, the main course was pike perch with chanterelles and for dessert there was ice cream with fruit. But I was expecting something different based on the menu and descriptions, as there was the usual parsley garnish and a lack of spices. Which was all the more unpleasant for me because my companion is also a chef in a restaurant and I actually wanted to offer him something unusual. The service was attentive and nice, but there was only a candle on the table after we asked, so we could hardly see the main course and dessert and had to turn on the cell phone light to see what we got. I found that impossible. Really a shame! That really ruined my evening a bit. Maybe we'll go again when we can sit inside.

So far everything is great, only the prices are on the upper level. Just one main course won't fill you up and the starters average 13.50. Don't get me wrong, the food is worth the price.

We celebrated our wedding in the barn and were completely satisfied. The preliminary discussions and email contact were super uncomplicated and friendly. The food, service etc. everything was perfect. The location itself is a dream anyway. We are really incredibly happy that we chose Haus Kemnade. Thank you!!!

!DANGER! with alternative offers! We wanted to order the house Riesling, here we knew the bottle price. We were then recommended an “OFFER that is currently available”. "Also a very tasty Riesling", but instead of a good €20 (the house Riesling is within this range), this bottle cost a whole €50! Of course that wasn't mentioned! This is a RIP-OFF! In addition, the bottle for €50 was then opened at the table without being shown beforehand and poured into all available glasses. No trying or anything like that - that's also in my opinion. seems highly questionable when one is already serving such high-priced wine! It's a shame it left a very bitter aftertaste when I paid.

This time Burghof enjoyed the summer evening atmosphere under a large parasol in the shade with 😋 schnitzel and a delicious dessert. Despite a large wedding celebration in the barn and another wedding in the knight's hall, the service was very attentive and extremely friendly. No waiting times for food. A very nice evening!

Bei Weinempfehlungen auf jeden Fall nach dem Preis fragen! Gewünscht war zu erst der Hausrieslich für ca. 20€ die Flasche. Daraufhin wurde ein grade verfügbares "tolles Angebot" empfohlen, auch ein sehr leckerer Riesling. Dieser kostete allerdings 50€ die Flasche, da wo ich herkomme, nennt man das ABZOCKE!

I was a photographer at Haus Kemnade and it was really incredibly beautiful there :)

I accompanied a civil wedding at Haus Kemnade in June as a wedding photographer and am still thrilled by the great historical ambience. There are countless opportunities to take beautiful photos and the registrar was also really warm and friendly.

We had an excellent meal and experienced very good and friendly service. In the knight's hall we had a nice, large round table for five people & a dog. We were immediately recommended a Blackberry Spritz as an aperitif, which I enjoyed. As a starter I chose a US pastrami and as my main course I had a wonderfully prepared flamed salmon with Westphalian side dishes and I enjoyed both dishes excellently. As a wine accompaniment we chose a Pinot Gris. What I really liked was the advice I gave my child about vegan dishes. She didn't like the vegan main course on the menu, so another dish was suggested and created, which she really liked. I really liked this flexibility and friendly advice. After dinner we took advantage of the beautiful location of this house and went for a short walk. We parked directly in our own parking spaces.

The historical ambience is very well maintained. Unbelievable when you consider that the last Ruhr floods always caused brutal damage. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. The real hit: “Three soups in sample size”. The team is very quick and friendly.

Goose dinner: We were there on December 12th. Went there with six people and ate 2 geese. A bit much, but two guys canceled at short notice. Everything was perfect: big compliments to Heinz Bruns’ team. The goose was carved at the table. She was wonderfully hot and juicy. The sauce was great. Side dishes: red cabbage, dumplings, chestnuts, baked apples with marzipan. The service was very present, always friendly and in a good mood. That made everyone happy. We will go again this year. The rooms in the moated castle are also added. Modernly designed tables and chairs in centuries-old rooms. Overall grade: Unreservedly recommended.

Very nice staff, the food was very tasty. A large menu with a lot to choose from. Toilets are very clean and also a great outdoor area. Visiting with larger groups is also no problem. We will definitely come back again

We celebrated our wedding four weeks ago in the house's party barn. It was an absolute dream. The location, the food and the service. The owner even got us a replacement cake because ours couldn't be eaten externally. Super helpful and committed. I would recommend everyone to celebrate there.

Very good restaurant in a historic setting. Very varied menu that offers something for everyone and makes it difficult to make a decision. Very friendly atmosphere, the guest is king, at least a knight :). Very good parking options directly at the restaurant in the castle courtyard. Lovely again!

Everything was great and I would give 7 stars if I could. First we talked to the boss, Mr. Hoffmann, about the event and then booked the terrace. Everything was made possible. We were able to come and decorate everything beforehand. Every wish was fulfilled. Food was great and came quickly and hot. The waiter (unfortunately I didn't ask the name) was a force!!! Despite the heavy rain (which he was unfortunately exposed to) he came to the terrace and repeatedly asked what we wanted. Simply great all around! Thank you again for the lovely evening 🫶

It was wonderful! We were there as a group of a bachelor party. The lady who served us was amazing, my sister eats gluten-free and the lady did everything so that she could enjoy her food too. It tasted excellent, the location is beautiful. And as I said, the lady was amazing and gave us umbrellas. Very, very great! We would like to come again.

Friendly welcome, great ambience, delicious original food with a high standard. Service attentive, fast and humorous. A very nice evening. Again any time. Only the background noise when the knight's hall felt good was a bit annoying.

Obwohl wir bisher immer sehr zufrieden waren, ist dieses Mal so ziemlich alles schief gegangen. Der bestellte Sekt ist niemals angekommen und die anderen Getränke wurden nach dem Hauptgericht gebracht, nachdem ich mich beschwert habe. Das Hauptgerich war übrigens kalt. So etwas darf in einem guten Haus nicht passieren. Wir legen erstmal eine Pause ein und gehen woanders essen.

There are many different high-quality and beautifully prepared dishes. The price is reasonable. If you want to have a good meal in a great atmosphere, this is the right place for you. (Best salmon far and wide - repeated and reproducible several times -)

The food was good. The ambience stands out very much. The whole thing is in a kind of former castle. The service was great. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately only 4 out of 5 stars due to the parking situation.

We got to know the property at a larger birthday party and were very pleasantly surprised. All members of the birthday party were happy with their food and impressed with the presentation. The service staff were attentive without being intrusive and very friendly throughout. The location is ideal for all kinds of celebrations, but also for a cozy evening for two! Happiness would be perfect if there were guest rooms on the property... you wouldn't just be able to drink a delicious plum brandy!

Excellent ambience, very cozy and tastefully decorated. The service is absolutely top. Totally attentive, courteous and really in a good mood. The food was very, very tasty and of top quality. Price-performance ratio absolutely justified. We were definitely not here for the last time.

It was a large party at a celebration in the large barn. The food was delicious and very appealing, the service was friendly and attentive, the ambience was special and beautiful. We would also organize celebrations here ourselves!

A wonderful place and a great environment for a hike

Service 10/10! Super nice and despite my special request, I wasn't made to feel like I was causing any inconvenience, which is very important to me. The ambience is of course also a 10/10! But please, dear ones, read your card as a veggie with a severe milk fat intolerance. Unfortunately no chance! And the salad bowl is advertised as “leaf lettuce” and came full of arugula. Unfortunately that doesn't work at all. No dessert without milk! Because I was so hungry, I thought a coffee would help. I had to drink it black too. However, the coffee was also of the best quality, but that was a real shame. Having to cook something at home with a three-figure bill dampens your mood. Nevertheless, if you offer alternatives for allergy sufferers, which are now even available at discount stores, I'll come back!

Hey! Great restaurant, great service very unique atmosphere. Unfortunately, I can only give the actually very good food 3 points because the menu reads rather narrow if you're a vegetarian like me. Unfortunately, vegans will only find one salad on the menu, with vinegar and oil. I think if you called a few days in advance to let them know, the restaurant would definitely be willing to prepare something that was vegan and/or vegetarian, which would then be made. It's just a guess because we didn't call beforehand. All in all, it was a nice evening and the service really deserved praise.

Liebes Team der Burgstuben, wir kennen und lieben Euer Restaurant seit 24 Jahren und waren immer gerne Stammgast. Wir haben mit dem alten Betreiber viele tolle Events und Partys erleben dürfen und sagenhafte Menüs genossen. Dafür möchten wir uns herzlichst an dieser Stelle bedanken. Wir werden immer sehr gerne daran zurück denken. Aber alles hat seine Zeit, wie man so schön sagt... Wir hatten sehnlichst gehofft, nach dem Betreiberwechsel das gleiche gastronomische Niveau weiterhin vorzufinden und wurden heute zu unserem größten Bedauern bitterlich enttäuscht! Wir hatten wie jedes Jahr Karfreitag das Fischmenü gebucht. Allenfalls Brauhausniveau kann man dazu sagen. Der Hauptgang war zu dem extrem versalzen und leider wirklich nicht genießbar. Das erste Gericht dass in 24 Jahren zurückging!! Der Rauchlachs aus der Spargelcremesuppe als Vorsuppe war gleich in der Suppe mitgekocht und erschlug jegliches anderes Aroma. Die Suppe wurde - wie in einer Kneipe - in einer angeschlagenen Suppentasse mit zerknitterter Papierserviette präsentiert. Im Hauptgang lag dann der Rauchlachs aus der Suppe - diesmal als ganzes Stück - wieder auf dem Teller. Selbiger schwamm auf einer sog. Rieslingsauce (die Weinnote war nicht zu schmecken) und in Kartoffelpüree. Der Vorspeisensalat wiederholte sich im Hauptgang und schwamm auf dem gleichen Teller wie Lachs, Püree und Rieslingsauce. Leider katastrophal! Der Service war zwar höflich und gab sich größte Mühe, reichte aber nicht an den gewohnten exzellenten Service aus der Zeit vor 2024 heran. Wir waren leider maßlos enttäuscht! Auf das Dessert haben wir verzichtet. Man setzt jetzt offenbar auf Masse und nicht mehr auf Klasse. Es tut uns aufrichtig leid, aber an die Kulinarik, auf die man sich in der Vergangenheit tagelang im Voraus freuen durfte, reicht das leider nicht im Entferntesten heran. Kemnade war in der Vergangenheit immer ein Erlebnis. Aber jetzt ... Geschmack, Präsentation und das ganze Ambiente (Plastikblumen auf dem Tisch) ist zu unserem größten Bedauern nicht mehr vergleichbar. Wir werden uns daher wirklich schweren Herzens umorientieren. Wir wünschen dem neuen Betreiber denn noch alles Gute für die Zukunft.😔

Dear Burgstuben team, we have known and loved your restaurant for 24 years and have always been happy to be regular guests. We were able to experience many great events and parties with the old operator and enjoyed fabulous menus. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for this. We will always remember it fondly. But there is a time for everything, as the saying goes...We had really hoped that the same level of gastronomy would continue after the change of operator and today, to our greatest regret, we were bitterly disappointed!! Like every year on Good Friday, we booked the fish menu. At best you can say it's brewery standard, the main course was extremely salty and unfortunately really not edible. The first dish to go back in 24 years. The starter salad was repeated in the main course. The smoked salmon from the cream of asparagus soup was cooked straight into the soup and killed any other flavor. The soup was presented like in a pub in a chipped soup cup with a crumpled paper napkin. In the main course, the smoked salmon from the soup was back on the plate - this time as a whole piece. The same floated on a so-called Riesling sauce (the wine note could not be tasted) in mashed potatoes. The salad also swam in the same sauce. Although the service was polite and made every effort, it did not live up to the usual excellent service from before 2024. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed! We skipped dessert. Apparently people are now focusing on quantity and no longer on quality. We are sincerely sorry, but unfortunately this does not come remotely close to the culinary delights that in the past we were able to look forward to for days in advance. Kemnade has always been an experience in the past. But now... taste, presentation and the whole ambience (plastic flowers on the table) is no longer comparable, to our greatest regret. It is therefore with really heavy hearts that we will reorient ourselves. We wish the new operator all the best for the future.😔

The Haus Kemnade restaurant in Hattingen is a real highlight. Located in a historic moated castle, it offers an incomparable ambience that is second to none. The menu offers a diverse selection of regional and international dishes. All dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. The service is friendly and attentive, and the prices are fair. The restaurant is easily accessible by bike from the Ruhr cycle path. There are also enough parking spaces available, so you can easily arrive by car. In the summer months, the beer garden or outdoor area invites you to linger. A visit is an experience. The restaurant not only offers excellent food, but also an unforgettable ambience.

Menu carousel 2024. Very friendly welcome, decent wines. Waiting times were a bit too long and unfortunately the supply of wine dwindled towards the end of the evening. I particularly liked the main course (perfectly roasted deer). Overall, solid middle class.

We were there for the menu carousel. Starter plate with 4 dishes, monkfish roulade, fillet Wellington or saddle of venison steak, dessert plate. Everything is very good. Attentive service. The ambience can't keep up: rustic vaulted cellar. We also had a table near the passage, although better tables remained free. Reasonable price-performance ratio. Recommended.

So first a little introduction for my review friends. Unfortunately, I have to use a pseudonym here because there are restaurateurs who don't want to admit the truth of their cooking skills and become threatening. Everything already happened. Today was the first time with you/them, but not the last time. You get full marks from me. I was greeted very politely, even from the kitchen. Speaks for the climate. Being single isn't always easy because you're not always a welcome guest. But here today, January 14th, 2024, I was greeted very nicely and given a table for four. The steak was very well seasoned and, above all, served hot. It cut perfectly with a sharp knife. The fried potatoes were also very tasty and not too greasy. The only point of criticism was the salad, which was a little bland. Especially the tomatoes and cucumber slices. There are salads in the Swabian Alb, where each salad has its own marinade. In other words, carrot salad is prepared differently than cabbage salad or beans. This as a little tip. :-) The final latte was served very hot and was my dessert. Thank you for the wonderful experience and a greeting to the kitchen and the service from me....... Guest again today on March 17th, 2024. A greeting to the kitchen from us, but also to the service. Very very tasty and well served. Please stay like this....👍 The best thing is that I haven't had any dogs next to me yet. I've already been able to experience it.

We felt very comfortable in this restaurant. The food was very tasty, whether it was a burger, steak or fish, even if it took a long time (45 minutes) for the food to arrive. Tastefully prepared and all wishes were taken into account. The service got a little tired towards the end. When we cleared the plates, we said that we wanted to order a coffee as a nightcap. About 15 minutes later we asked for the bill because no one felt addressed anymore. It's a shame otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Das Ambiente und das Essen waren sehr gut. Der Service eine absolute Katastrophe. Wir waren zum späten Nachmittag da und waren die einzigen Gäste, die dort Mittag gegessen haben. Es wurde permanent von mehren Kellnern für eine später Veranstaltung eingedeckt. Jedes Besteck, Weinflaschen öffnen, Teambesprechung und auch Eiswürfel für die Getränke umfüllen, führten zu penetranten Lärm. Man hat nur gewartet dass wir gehen und uns auch so behandelt.

The food and the ambience were good. Unfortunately the service was poor. We were there in the afternoon and were the only guests who had lunch there. It was permanently set up by the service staff for a later event. Ice cubes were poured very loudly, cutlery was placed correctly and meetings were held quite unabashedly. We were very unwanted there and we were shown that. Then it's better not to accept reservations.

It was a great menu, the ambience was great and we had very, very nice, enthusiastic and attentive service.

We had an appointment at Haus Kemnade because we wanted to view the premises for our wedding. After we were kept waiting for half an hour (at least with a coffee on the house), we drove back annoyed. This is not how you treat potential customers/guests.

The Haus Kemnade house is simply a dream! There was an open ear for every concern, and as a wedding DJ I was supported by a great team. The nice service is also great, helpful and all around accommodating. Thank you for the lovely collaboration. I'm looking forward to the next party with you!

We went to the menu carousel at Haus Kemnade with friends on February 24th, 2024. Everything was perfect and received full marks. Starting with the food, which Not only was it visually well presented, but it also scored points in terms of taste. The service was very friendly and quick. Wine and water (included in the price) were refilled generously without being asked. All in all a full 10 points. We can fully recommend Haus Kemnade.

Wir waren am 24.02.2024 mit Freunden zum Menükarussell im Haus Kemnade essen. Alles war perfekt und mit voller Punktzahl zu bewerten. Angefangen vom Essen, welches nicht nur optisch super angerichtet war, sondern auch geschmacklich punkten konnte. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell. Wein und Wasser (im Preis inbegriffen) wurden ohne Aufforderung reichlich nachgeschenkt. Alles in allem volle 10 Punkte. Wir können das Haus Kemnade uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

From the moment I crossed the threshold of Restaurant Haus Kemnade in Hattingen, I knew that a culinary experience awaited me. Nestled in the picturesque landscape that reflects the historical ambience of the region, the restaurant offered not only a visual but also a gustatory journey through the highlights of good cuisine. The starter, a creamy burrata that was in perfect harmony with sweet cherry tomatoes, an aromatic basil pesto, crunchy rocket and slightly nutty pine nuts, became a true feast for the senses thanks to the smoked olive oil. The flamed goat cheese resting on a cloud of fruity fig jam and a bed of wild herb salad. The walnut vinaigrette added a sophisticated touch that perfectly complemented the flavor of the goat cheese and made the dish an unforgettable experience. The “truffle pasta” was a true masterpiece. The fine tagliatelle, flambéed at the table in a parmesan wheel, covered in a velvety truffle cream and crowned with freshly shaved truffles, were a prime example of the excellence that the House of Kemnade embodies. This dish alone was worth the trip and reflected the high culinary artistry and creativity of the kitchen. The dessert, a crème brûlée accompanied by fresh blueberries, creamy vanilla ice cream and a crunchy chocolate chip, rounded off the meal perfectly. Although rich, it was a sweet finish that complemented the previous courses beautifully. The ambience of the restaurant was as impressive as its food. Elegant seating, a great ambience and friendly and humorous service created an inviting and warm atmosphere that invited you to linger. My conclusion: The Haus Kemnade restaurant in Hattingen is a jewel that impresses with both its exquisite cuisine and its inviting ambience. It is a place that not only touches the palate but also the soul and creates a memory that lasts for a long time with every visit. We were here for a civil wedding. The ambience is very nice. The small but fine wedding hall was very beautiful.

Wir waren in der Adventszeit mit vorheriger Tischreservierung dort. Das Ambiente ist ganz besonders auch wenn es in einem engen Kellergewölbe naturgemäß manchmal etwas lauter werden kann. Wir hatten Trüffel Nudeln und Gänsekeule. Die Trüffelnudeln wurden am Tisch zubereitet und waren eine echte kulinarische Show. Nudeln im Parmesan Käselaib zu schwenken ist ja auch anderen Orts schon üblich geworden. Den Käse allerdings vorher mit brennendem Alkohol an zu schmelzen habe ich zum ersten Mal erlebt. Zusammen mit frischen Trüffel Raspel ein Augen- und Gaumenschmaus. Wenn es einmal etwas ganz besonderes sein soll können wir das Haus Kemnade sehr empfehlen.
