We stopped in for lunch. We had a pork schnitzel with pepper sauce and a hamburger. The hamburger was very good. The schnitzel was rather tasteless. It lacked salt. The pepper sauce didn't taste good either; it had no flavor at all. The fried potatoes were very good. The salad was colorful, but the dressing lacked any flavor. A bit of lemon/vinegar and salt and pepper would have been good. Therefore, I can't really recommend the food. There are much better options nearby for the money.

A charming historic building. Outside, it has a moat, even with nutreas. Inside, it houses a registry office, a restaurant with an outdoor seating area, and a museum.

We've eaten at Haus Kemnade three times so far, with groups of 2-6. The food was of excellent quality each time! Very friendly and prompt service. The ambiance, especially indoors, is very quaint and cozy. I think the prices are reasonable. A little tip for Haus Kemnade: A more cozy atmosphere in the courtyard (I mean the tables and chairs) would be the absolute highlight (e.g., like the outdoor area at "liebevoll!" in the Auermühle)!

We got married at Haus Kemnade and enjoyed a meal there afterward, including a wonderful champagne reception with sparkling wine from the estate's own winery. The food was excellent, and our wedding guests lacked nothing. An all-around perfect day!

Wow, what excellent food! I went there for the first time in a long time (after moving away) and really enjoyed the food. Truly first-class. The only downside: Despite making a reservation, we only got a seat in the back corner and couldn't quite enjoy the wonderful ambiance.

We had our wedding here on June 13, 2025, in the Knight's Hall. Best location ever, amazing food (no catering), and everything fresh. Our guests were equally thrilled with the variety. Service was first-class, always present and extremely friendly. Special requests were fulfilled immediately. Our wedding on June 15, 2024, in the barn at Haus Kemnade was an unforgettable experience with around 150 guests and a non-denominational ceremony. Along with many other service providers such as a DJ, photographer, and decor, the location and the food were the most important components for us – and here we were in excellent hands at Haus Kemnade. We couldn't have imagined a better location. Mr. Kachel and Ms. Wecker, together with their team, carefully and enthusiastically incorporated all our wishes and suggestions and prepared an indescribably beautiful day for us. The close communication with them gave us a high degree of security. They were available at all times, spared no effort, and always responded quickly to our questions and requests. This relieved a lot of stress, and we felt well looked after at all times. Even individual special requests were handled flexibly and professionally and implemented seamlessly. The food was of the highest quality and delighted not only us but also our guests. Particularly noteworthy were highlights such as pasta made from a Parmesan wheel or freshly sliced ​​roast beef served directly at the buffet. Even days later, we received numerous messages from our guests praising the food highly. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Haus Kemnade. We recently celebrated our wedding here in the Knight's Hall and were very pleased. The buffet was a hit with our guests and left nothing to be desired. All arrangements made in advance were kept, and everyone was very helpful. The ambiance is beautifully situated in nature, but the castle itself exudes a very special charm. We can definitely recommend Haus Kemnade as a wedding venue.

Really really good. Just like you imagine when you want to go out for something “better” to eat. Sure, it costs a little more than a McMenu or a taxi plate from your favorite Greek restaurant, but it's absolutely worth it.

The menu at the menu carousel was excellent. The service is friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is unique.

The food and service were exemplary and approachable at all times. The ambiance was unparalleled. Open for anything, whether it was just a cold beer or coffee and cake or lunch, there was something for everyone. We took a Gropper beer home with us as a souvenir for our next visit. Thanks again for the warm welcome, even though we were stylishly equipped for a ride on our e-scooters.

In this beautiful atmosphere, we unfortunately had a rather negative experience: after we were assigned our table, we were largely ignored. We then had to actively speak to the waitress twice in the following 15 minutes to order both drinks and food. At this point, the space was around 30% full. You wait in vain for the “greetings from the kitchen” that is usual given the price level and demands of the restaurant. When we then asked for bread for the main course, the waitress explained to us that the dish already contained enough carbohydrates and we had to ask for bread again. The quality and taste of the dishes we ordered also didn't match the requirements: for example, the boiled potatoes were obviously warmed up and the bowl was missing the quinoa promised on the menu. Overall, the service team seems overwhelmed, poorly coordinated and not very professional, especially since the capacity utilization was rather low at the time of our visit.

We were there on Saturday with 4 people for the menu carousel. It was an all-round successful evening, nice ambience, delicious food and I would like to highlight the super good service. Despite the lack of staff, the cellar was simply great, you couldn't do it better

We celebrated our wedding in this location last summer. There was a change of ownership between the reservation of the room and the celebration, which meant that some arrangements had to be made again. However, apart from a few price adjustments, this was not a major problem. The face-to-face arrangements went well, while communication via email was a little more challenging. For example, we asked for a cost estimate several times, but it was not provided. On the day of the celebration, we arrived at 3 p.m. as planned and were warmly welcomed by the service staff, who had already prepared a champagne reception. It was also possible to order an ice cream truck to distribute ice cream on the farm. At 6:30 p.m. our agreed menu was served, which was very tasty and met our expectations. However, contrary to what was discussed, the food was dismantled after about two hours, although we assumed that it would be left longer so that guests could help themselves. Additionally, we weren't asked if we wanted to take leftovers that we paid for with us, which we would have gladly done. At dusk we asked for fire bowls outside to roast marshmallows. These should be provided by the location. When we asked, it turned out that the service team was not informed about this. There was also a situation in which the service team came to me around 11 p.m. and commented that the 8-hour drinks flat rate was now over. It was originally agreed that the flat rate would apply until the end of the event, which was ultimately implemented. One unfortunate point was that the midnight snack that I had booked in advance via email was forgotten and I was only told about this when I asked. Unfortunately, it was no longer possible to get a replacement at this point. Overall, the location offers a nice ambience, plenty of parking and a good selection of food. The toilets are spacious, and both the dance floor and the outdoor area have enough space. The drinks menu is also very appealing. The location was also understanding and accommodating when a death occurred five days before the wedding and some guests had to cancel at short notice. However, after all the planning, a few small details would have made this day even more memorable.

We were in the Burgstuben Essen back then and were treated like the last people. Food was OK. In general, judging by the waitress's reaction, card payment was a problem and the atmosphere was generally quite unsympathetic and oppressive. We were banished to a table in the far corner. Apart from us, the only other people sitting in the next room were the Frankenstein family (presumably regulars).

Unfortunately, the Christmas menu for a whopping €70 doesn't do justice to its price. While the main course (roast beef) was certainly convincing, the starter in particular left more than to be desired. However, the rest of the service was very friendly and helpful! Overall tasty but not justified in terms of price.

Haus Kemnade offers a pleasant feel-good atmosphere inside and out. Although the rooms are not barrier-free, they are still very easy to reach. The finely designed interior was a fitting contrast to the rustic brickwork, surprisingly warm despite yesterday's freezing weather. The service staff were 👍🏼top👍🏼, always on hand with drinks and dishes, friendly and above all helpful. The food (buffet) was a feast for the eyes and the palate (pumpkin soup and game ragout were my favorites), incredibly delicious. Here too, constant attention was paid to freshness, order and cleanliness. So I say, gladly again and definitely 5*****

Very tasty goose dinner. The goose menu is well thought out, the portions are decent. Price-performance is right. The chair covers are nice, but unfortunately there is a lack of legroom.

The food was very good, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio was poor Ravioli filled with pumpkin and amarettini Roasted walnut | Goat cream cheese melted tomato fried rocket for €18.50 disappointing in contrast to the schnitzel for €22.90. In addition, an ingredient that was advertised was not included (walnuts), which were then added in a small bowl without a word of apology. That's a shame. So unfortunately no recommendation for vegetarians, they get their money's worth but don't get full...

Wir hatten diverse Gerichte, vom Gänsebraten mit Knödeln über Lendchen mit Bratkartoffeln, Suppe, Garnelen, Rinderroulade bis zur Salatbowl. Alles war zu unserer uneingeschränkten Zufriedenheit . Sonderwünsche waren auch kein Problem . Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend.

This was our second time eating there. The daycare child and dog were warmly welcomed after the walk. The opening times can be wonderfully combined with activities with the family in the area. The menu reads well, the food was good and the service was great. Friendly, authentic, customer-oriented and attentive. Unfortunately it's not that common these days, but you really feel welcome here as a guest and you go home afterwards feeling like you had a really good time in this house. It's worth it!

We had booked a table at 8:15 p.m. in the Knights' Hall through Open Table. When we arrived at 8 p.m. we were told that we were already very late, that the kitchen was almost closed and that we urgently needed to talk to Open Table about it. You couldn't go into the restaurant itself anyway, only the beer garden was possible. They kindly agreed to cook something else. We then chose the summer menu so that we could still get something. The food was solid, tomato/burrata, the main course was pike perch with chanterelles and for dessert there was ice cream with fruit. But I was expecting something different based on the menu and descriptions, as there was the usual parsley garnish and a lack of spices. Which was all the more unpleasant for me because my companion is also a chef in a restaurant and I actually wanted to offer him something unusual. The service was attentive and nice, but there was only a candle on the table after we asked, so we could hardly see the main course and dessert and had to turn on the cell phone light to see what we got. I found that impossible. Really a shame! That really ruined my evening a bit. Maybe we'll go again when we can sit inside.

Bei Weinempfehlungen auf jeden Fall nach dem Preis fragen! Gewünscht war zu erst der Hausrieslich für ca. 20€ die Flasche. Daraufhin wurde ein grade verfügbares "tolles Angebot" empfohlen, auch ein sehr leckerer Riesling. Dieser kostete allerdings 50€ die Flasche, da wo ich herkomme, nennt man das ABZOCKE!

!DANGER! with alternative offers! We wanted to order the house Riesling, here we knew the bottle price. We were then recommended an “OFFER that is currently available”. "Also a very tasty Riesling", but instead of a good €20 (the house Riesling is within this range), this bottle cost a whole €50! Of course that wasn't mentioned! This is a RIP-OFF! In addition, the bottle for €50 was then opened at the table without being shown beforehand and poured into all available glasses. No trying or anything like that - that's also in my opinion. seems highly questionable when one is already serving such high-priced wine! It's a shame it left a very bitter aftertaste when I paid.

This time Burghof enjoyed the summer evening atmosphere under a large parasol in the shade with 😋 schnitzel and a delicious dessert. Despite a large wedding celebration in the barn and another wedding in the knight's hall, the service was very attentive and extremely friendly. No waiting times for food. A very nice evening!
