Lux Restaurant in Hattingen

2026: Wir waren wieder hier Essen. Der Kellner ist lustig und nett. Mittlerweile wird immer angezeigt, wie viele Bewertungen das Restaurant bei google löschen lässt. Hier werden bis zu 20 Bewertungen angezeigt. Wir mögen es nicht, wenn schlechte Bewertungen gelöscht werden und meiden eher diese Restaurants. Wenn wir jetzt hier nicht schon gegessen hätten, hätten wir dieses Restaurant nicht besucht. Wir haben die Dorade und den Grillteller bestellt. Die Dorade war sehr gut, der Grillteller für die Größe etwas zu teuer. Bei anderen Restaurants gibt es den gleichen Teller zum gleichen Preis inkl. Zaziki und Gyros. Als Tipp fürs Restaurants: Noch kostenlos Zaziki für den Grillteller aufnehmen. Da mir der Grillteller zu trocken war, nehme ich das nächste Mal die Spieße, weil es dort Zaziki zu gibt. Das Grillgemüse war sehr lecker. 2025: Das kostenlose Brot mit dem Dip als Vorspeise war gut. Wir saßen draußen. Die Stühle waren im Verhältnis zu den Tischen zu niedrig, aber ich glaube eher, dass die Tische zu hoch sind. Draußen sitzen konnte man sehr gut. Der Salat war am besten! Mit Essig angemacht, super lecker. Selten so ein tolles Dressing gegessen. Die Pommes waren auch gut, oder Chips heißen die ja dort. Lecker und schön salzig. Die Menge der Pommes war jedoch zu wenig! Bitte an den Chips nicht geizen, die kosten doch nicht so viel. Ich hatte 3 Medaillons bestellt, vom Schwein, Rind und Lamm! Fürs Schwein die Note 1, super saftig und lecker. Das Lamm mit Knochen war ganz OK und das Rind hätte etwas zarter sein können. War OK, aber mehr auch nicht! Die Preise waren gerade noch OK. 1,50 höher als der Durchschnitt, so ist mein Empfinden. Insgesamt waren wir nicht 100%ig überzeugt, aber zufrieden. 4,1 bis 4,2 hat das Restaurant an Sternen verdient. Wir würden das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Meine Frau hatte übrigens eine Dorade. Die Dorade an sich war sehr lecker.

Wir waren nach einigen Monaten mal wieder im Lokal Lux in Hattingen. Kommen hier seit 5 Jahren immer wieder hin , wenn wir mit dem Wohnmobil unterwegs sind ( Stammgäste ).Auf die Onlinebuchung hat sich niemand gemeldet, sind dann zum reservieren persönlich vorstellig geworden. Es hat sich sehr viel im Restaurant verändert. Das Ambiente fehlt vollständig ( gegen früher ). Es war nur eine Servicekraft im Restaurant. Die Karte wurde verkleinert. Getränke wurden vergessen. Mann musste an die Theke zum nachbestellen. Der Laden war komplett leer ( was wir garnicht kannten ). Das Essen kam zügig. War aber nicht mehr so üppig und schmackhaft. Zu guter letzt konnten wir nicht mit Karte bezahlen . Haben dann erfahren das der Besitzer gewechselt hat. SCHADE !!!

Sehr leckeres Essen, sympathische Bedienung und der Koch hat persönlich nachgefragt wie es bei uns ist.

Geht gar nicht. Zu zweit dort gewesen. Nach einer Stunde der erste sein Essen. Nach 10 Minuten das zweite Essen storniert. Man möchte schon gemeinsam essen. Nie wieder. Beim Nachbartisch ähnlich. Nicht zu empfehlen. Preis Leistung passt auch nicht

Leider eine große Enttäuschung. Für Preise von über 20 € pro Gericht hätte ich deutlich bessere Qualität und angemessene Portionen erwartet. Die Suflaki-Spieße waren winzig und zudem entgegen der Speisekarte kein Filet. Statt der angekündigten frittierten Kartoffeln gab es einfache Pommes. Das Bifteki hatte eine seltsam braune Farbe, war praktisch überhaupt nicht gewürzt und schmeckte insgesamt merkwürdig. Auch der angebliche Schafskäse war rötlich verfärbt und hatte geschmacklich nichts mit Schafskäse zu tun. Die Portionen waren insgesamt sehr übersichtlich und wirkten lieblos angerichtet. Wir haben das Essen schließlich stehen lassen und sind in ein anderes Restaurant gegangen. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass seitens des Kochs keinerlei Einsicht oder Verständnis für die Kritik zu erkennen war. Für den aufgerufenen Preis leider weder qualitativ noch geschmacklich akzeptabel. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Leider hat das Lux-Restaurant für mich deutlich an Attraktivität verloren. Die Mittagskarte wurde extrem zusammengeschrumpft und bietet inzwischen nur noch drei bis vier Gerichte zur Auswahl. Darunter Standardoptionen wie Spaghetti (Grieche?) sowie ein Auflauf, der erkennbar vom Vortag aufgewärmt wurde – insgesamt wirkt das Angebot wenig frisch und wenig durchdacht. Auch die Portionen sind eher durchschnittlich und stehen für mich in keinem guten Verhältnis zu den inzwischen gestiegenen Preisen. Gerade für ein Mittagsangebot erwarte ich eine gewisse Auswahl, Frische und ein stimmiges Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – all das ist hier leider nicht mehr gegeben. Für mich hat sich das Thema damit erledigt. Ich werde künftig andere Alternativen bevorzugen.

Fava war sensationell. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich war mit Freunden letzte Woche im Lux essen. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und der Service war grandios. Zwischendurch haben wir auch etwas vom Haus spendiert bekommen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Aktuell (April 2026) fallen die Portionen so gering aus, dass sie selbst als Vorspeise sparsam wirken würden. Dies gilt insbesondere für die drei Portionen Calamari und für das Bifteki in Minitatur. Calamari wurden nach Reklamation nachgeliefert, für drei Essen zwei kleine Stücke. Sorry, das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht, wir kommen nicht wieder. Es gibt genug Alternativen in Hattingen.

Absolut schönes Restaurant. Hatte es durch Zufall gefunden aber muss sagen; es war einfach super. Die Leute waren alle mega nett, das Essen war himmlisch und definitiv nur zu empfehlen! Für jeden der eine Liebe für Mediterrane/Griechische Küche hat ❤️

Es ist nicht mehr das Lux . Neue Mittagskarte, abgespeckt. Ich hatte das Hähnchenschnitzel mit Pilzrahmsosse und Pommes. War okay. Das Schnitzel und die Soße waren lecker. Etwas wenig Pommes, obwohl die mir reichten. Beim nächsten Besuch in Hattingen werden wir uns mal woanders umschauen. Schade ☹️

Wir sind gestern eher zufällig zur Mittagszeit in dieses Restaurant in Hattingen hineingegangen – und hatten ein rundum wunderbares Erlebnis. Erst im Nachhinein haben wir erfahren, dass wir eigentlich schon kurz vor der Mittagspause angekommen sind. Umso beeindruckender war es, dass wir dennoch so herzlich empfangen und ganz selbstverständlich bewirtet wurden. Der Service war außergewöhnlich: unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und mit einer Herzlichkeit, die man wirklich selten erlebt. Man hat sofort gespürt, mit wie viel Liebe und Großzügigkeit hier gearbeitet wird. Diese persönliche und warmherzige Art hat unseren Besuch zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Auch das Essen hat absolut überzeugt – frisch, sehr lecker und mit viel Sorgfalt zubereitet. Insgesamt war es ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis, das uns definitiv in sehr positiver Erinnerung bleiben wird. Ein großes Dankeschön für diese Gastfreundschaft – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir waren nach einer langen Fahrt hier essen. Das Rumpsteak als Tapas war super um mehrere Dinge zu versuchen. Das Steak hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Einziges Mako bitte fragen wie man das Steak gern hätte. Für uns aber okay. Die Kräuterbutter ist selbstgemacht und schmeckte gut. Das Aioli war auch super und die Menge reichte für Brot und Kartoffelchips. Die Chips waren ebenfalls super. Knusprig und gut gewürzt. Nicht zu aufdringlich. Das Dessert gab es als kleine Portionen, von jedem etwas. Sehr super. Personal war super. Wer hier essen geht, muss sich nach einem Parkplatz entfernt vom Lokal umschauen, die gibt es hier nicht. Aber wir sind sowieso zu Fuß gelaufen, da es in der Innenstadt super erreichbar war. Wenn wir wieder hier sind kommen wir sicher gern wieder. Große Empfehlung.

Waren heute mit 10 Leuten dort Essen...Kinderschnitzel doppelt so groß wie ein normales Schnitzel,Grillteller für 2 Personen verkehrt gekommen,für 26 Euro drei kleine Stücke(chen) Fleisch...Die beiden Herren haben 15 min später Ihr Essen bekommen...Wir haben hier hin eingeladen und uns am Ende geschämt....Für uns nicht weiter zu empfehlen.SCHADE

Wir sind mittags im Restaurant gewesen. Sehr ruhiges schönes Ambiente. Mit griechischer Musik im Hintergrund. Karte hat griechische und italienische Speisen enthalten. Essen war qualitativ sehr gut. Das Fleisch war sehr gut gebraten. Schön saftig. Bei der Leber wurde im Vorfeld gefragt, wie sie gebraten werden soll. Der Service war super. Aufmerksamkeit war sehr gegeben. Es wurde mehrfach nachgefraht, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Getränke und Speisen wurden schnell bereit gestellt. Gerne wieder. Efharisto

Wir haben das Restaurant zufällig entdeckt als wir auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt waren. Hervorragendes Essen, tolle Tomatensuppe, perfekt zubereitetes Fleisch und total freundlicher Service. Und unser Hund war auch willkommen. Vielen Dank!

Das Essen war gut, nicht zu reichlich, aber lecker. Leider mussten wir auf Ouzo und Espresso trotz mehrfacher Erinnerung fast 30 Minuten warten. Als Entschuldigung wurde die lange Aufheizzeit der Maschine und das "frisch verliebt sein" des Kellners angeführt... das hat den Abend dann doch etwas getrübt.

Unfortunately, today's experience was far worse than the other reviews suggested. We were a group of five. The service was unfriendly, and one of the servers couldn't/wouldn't offer any vegan options. Only after asking if they could at least prepare a slightly different salad did this guest finally find something to eat. All the dishes, whether appetizers or main courses, arrived at the same time. This left us wondering which items were supposed to be hot and which were cold. Some drinks took forever to arrive, and when we inquired about them, they were double-charged on the bill. We didn't receive a receipt either, but instead a handwritten one. Each server was serving every table, which inevitably led to chaos.

A cozy shop in Hattingen's old town, with excellent seafood, fish dishes, first-class rack of lamb, and calf's liver to die for. Everything was cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. Many thanks to the whole team, and keep up the great work! 👍🏼

The food was absolutely delicious; there was something for everyone. The appetizer was beautifully presented and a real treat, and the main course, a 300g steak, was fabulous! The fish soup, baby squid, pasta, and grilled meat were absolutely delicious. The chef was a master at making garlic oil, perfectly balancing the spiciness and garlic flavor. Even the toughest chicken breast was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—simply divine. We devoured every last bite.

A very special (culinary) evening I was celebrating my birthday that day. Two weeks earlier, I had reserved a table for four people online at the Lux restaurant in Hattingen's old town based on the very positive reviews and the compelling menu. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to a table next to a beautifully decorated piano. Our Starters: - Baked feta cheese with tomatoes and pepperoni - Ailoi with fresh, still-steaming bread - Tzatziki with fresh, still-steaming bread Our Main Courses: - Tagliatelle with fresh salmon strips and a dill and white wine sauce - Lamb with roasted vegetables - Fillet plate with pork fillet, rump steak, peppercorn sauce, potato chips, and salad - Chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, potato chips, and salad (children's plate with a really large portion, though) Drinks: - Passion fruit spritzer - Apple spritzer - Still water - Ouzo I had the fillet plate and was delighted with both the beef and especially the pork fillet. As I shared my enthusiasm with the friendly young lady, who always looked after us attentively, she told us – quite proudly – ​​that they received fresh meat, etc., daily. And you can taste it. My wife opted for the lamb, and she also praised the tenderness and perfect preparation of the meat. Fortunately, given the "decent" portion, I was able to confirm her assessment by tasting it several times (😇). Our son, craving a pasta dish, opted for the tagliatelle with salmon and was extremely happy with his choice. Our little one's large children's plate was a bit too much for her, so we had some meat packed to take home. The ouzo presented by the house at the end rounded off a wonderful evening. With a personal thank you to our charming "server" and the owner, and with the promise of a return visit, we took our leave for a short stroll through Hattingen's old town.

We come to Hattingen once a year for the Mercedes meet and have always had dinner at "Lux" one evening in recent years, including this year. The quality of the food and service have always been exceptional in the past, but that wasn't the case again this year. Unfortunately, the lady who served us was very difficult to understand. The food and drinks also left a lot to be desired; the beer tasted more like Fanta than beer, some of the meat was very tough, and the lamb fillet consisted more of bones and fat than meat. Overall, the food seemed reheated rather than freshly grilled. Furthermore, the dishes were very poorly presented. At least they still offered the familiar "Greetings from the Kitchen," which used to be more convincing. Upon asking a waiter, we were told that the restaurant's owners had changed a while ago, which probably explains the decline in quality. Overall, I can no longer recommend "Lux." It's a real shame, as I consider it one of the best restaurants in Hattingen.

They also serve lunch until 5 p.m. on Saturdays, so I had a delicious schnitzel with potato chips and salad for under €13 ☺️ The staff is very friendly. The restrooms are clean, and the men's restroom even has hairspray and hair gel.

We visited Hattingen's beautiful old town for the first time on June 18, 2025. I googled beforehand which restaurants were open from 12 p.m. and later, as we wanted to eat at 1:30 p.m. Restaurant Lux was mentioned, and we chose it because of its Mediterranean menu. We encountered very friendly, motivated, and attentive staff: the ladies enjoyed their jobs, which we could tell. It was exactly the right choice for us. We sat on the pleasant outdoor terrace and enjoyed a good meal. The food was excellent, the rump steak was a dream. Compliments to the kitchen team! The subsequent conversation with the Greek owner was so pleasant that it was hard to leave. Thank you for a great time with you!!! We would love to come back.

Not recommended!!! We had to wait well over an hour for our food. Friends from the restaurant arrived 30 minutes after us and were served their food before us – that's unacceptable! The food was mediocre and unfortunately only lukewarm. Overall, it was a disappointing dinner. The salad looked very sad. The steak was anything but medium. The ambiance was okay. Absolutely not recommended for a nice evening in Hattingen's old town.

Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food. Friends of the chef were given priority and received their food after a very short wait. The taste was rather mediocre, although I did have a stomach ache afterward. For these reasons, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

We were at Lux in Hatting today. It was a truly wonderful evening. I had the veal liver with mashed potatoes, and I must say it was very, very good. The liver was tender as butter, the mashed potatoes creamy and light, simply perfect. The others had the rack of lamb with potatoes, and that was also perfect, as was the chicken breast fillet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere pleasant; you feel very comfortable. All in all, I highly recommend it; I will definitely come back. I had veal liver, mashed potatoes (1 spoonful from the bag) and a mini salad dressed only with balsamic vinegar. After eating I was hungrier than before.

We were warmly welcomed, experienced very attentive service and would eat there again at any time.

We were here again in December 24 for the first time in a long time and were very enthusiastic, so we are here again today (January). Very tasty food and super nice, courteous staff. We will definitely come back again.

Wow. I have to think about it all again... but I don't know what to write. Of course, I would never write anything bad... Owners who cannot handle constructive, honest and verifiable criticism would have bad reviews deleted immediately. So open your eyes... That obviously doesn't seem to be the case here with so many great reviews. So I can really recommend this restaurant...everyone has their own experience.

Everything just fits here! Service very accommodating, cozy atmosphere, very friendly boss and incredibly delicious food. The various tapas and the rump steak are particularly recommended. We'd love to come back, keep it up!

Very cozy restaurant right in the center of Hattingen. I had dinner in Lux with my wife today and I have to say that I was very surprised by the many grilled dishes. Our special requests were also taken into account and the staff was very friendly despite the full restaurant. The boss recommended a great wine to us ;) thank you very much for the service

We had a lovely evening for two in the Lux restaurant. You should reserve here in advance, even during the week. The service was exceptionally courteous. The food was also very good, this was also confirmed by our neighbors at the table. The restaurant was full, but the atmosphere there was still very cozy. At a later hour it was also possible to have a very nice conversation with the service.

I had the sheep's cheese, which I had ordered as a side dish for €8, packed up. This was served cold and I didn't like it. Made hot today in the HLF. That was very tasty. But that's not the point of going out to eat. Oh yes, very important. Never put it at the very back in the right corner. We kept smelling the smell of the toilet behind it. Very unpleasant.

On Friday, the four of us quickly got a table at rush hour. Even without a reservation, all employees were very cooperative. Service friendly and quick. Food extremely tasty and really inexpensive for the quality. Perfect for a nice evening with family or friends. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come by again.
