Restaurant Hafenmeisterei in Konstanz

We sat down briefly, the waitress rolled her eyes at my father, who was trying to put a piece of trash into a cup (the cup and trash belonged to the people sitting before us at the table). Then she spilled the old espresso on the table, dirtying my mother's pants. Normally, this would be fine since it was an accident, but the waitress was generally rude and conceited. We then got up and left. Not recommended.

But charging a paying guest for the toilet is outrageous.

It was fine, but if you want to use the restroom as a guest, you still have to pay for it, even though you're sitting there eating or drinking. What a pity.

We waited almost 20 minutes for the beer! Everything else was brought quickly. If you want to order, it's best to let the staff know you'd like to order, otherwise they won't ask! When the food arrived, special requests made when ordering were ignored, even though they had been promised. I asked for garlic oil and they rolled their eyes, and I had to ask twice before it arrived at the table! What I absolutely didn't tolerate was the staff walking past customers cursing! And also the ridiculous looks they gave people with disabilities! A course on how to serve people would be a huge advantage!

We came here at short notice and wanted/were able to fully enjoy our evening with good wine and top-notch service. The value for money was very good, and we'd be happy to come back. The sea bream was highly recommended, as was the creative and delicious starter platter.

This was my first time in Konstanz, unfortunately got off to a bad start going to Hafenmeisterei for a drink. Sat down and ordered a ginger ale and an espresso, definitely pricey at nearly 10 euros for 2 drinks. I paid for the drinks, then we both went to use the toilet, a cost of 1 euro each. I didn’t realise you could be reimbursed until a lady gave me my ticket which I hadn’t picked up from the machine, my husband put his in the toilet bin as had no idea it was required. I spoke with the waiter who had served us, he would only give me 1 euro as I didn’t have my husbands ticket, i explained we didn’t know about the reimbursements his reply was “Too bad, next time”. There will be no next time, outrageous.

The place was packed, and it was simply a pleasure to be there as a guest! Great service, good food, and a breathtaking freak show thanks to the SM ship! I'd love to go again.

€6.50 for a fake 0.4-liter Coke. Absolutely not recommended.

Good breakfast. However, a 30-cent surcharge for milk instead of creamer is ridiculous.

Food and pizza were okay. Very unfriendly service. I wouldn't recommend it for the high prices.

The location is very nice by the harbor, and the service was friendly. But those were the only positive points. We spent €15 on bruschetta (four half-raw pizza rolls with spread), €18 on a salami pizza (Wagner frozen pizza), and €6.50 on a 0.4l Coke, and then had to pay €0.50 for the restroom… I've never experienced anything like that before. (Ps. €9.50 for Aperol, but it's only €7.50 in all the surrounding restaurants.)

The food here is truly unbelievably delicious, and the staff are all very friendly. It's truly top-notch, and I can recommend it to anyone!

Beware, it's a total tourist trap! Mislabeled wines served in a 0.5L glass carafe – disappointing in taste and definitely not what was on the menu or what we ordered. We ended up taking a bottle to be sure. The service was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed by every question. Restroom use? Only for a fee – seriously, in a restaurant! The prices are more reminiscent of Paris than Konstanz: completely exorbitant for what you get. Never again – this place is all about making a quick buck off tourists. 0% of regular customers

Worst pizza ever, just a lump and the dough was half raw. The server was unfriendly and unmotivated.

Pizza is good, curry completely without coconut milk, just broth and some vegetables.

The pizza was excellent. The service was friendly, and you sit right by the water. Simply wonderful.

We spent four days in Konstanz and (no joke) visited the harbormaster's office at least once every day. Very friendly staff, always helpful even though the place was busy. The food was very good... delicious pizza and very good fish... We'll be back

Here's the thing: I had a beer mat in my beer. Why?! Maybe a perverted joke, but I didn't find it that funny. At least I got a new one.

Unfortunately, our server was in a bad mood and didn't want to make any sales. The asparagus soup was cold. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the bruschetta either; only the sweet potato hummus was delicious. The zander was divine. Drinks for the second round were served after a very long wait. A third round didn't even happen. It's a shame that this dampened the overall impression.

We were pleasantly surprised. Friendly and nice staff, good food from a visible kitchen. In addition to the dishes from the Wolk, we recommend the Fritto. The terrace overlooking the harbor is not only large, but also always very busy.

Only cash payment possible. No EC card, no Visa Credit payment possible. At least you say it. But not before you've already eaten. After waiting an hour for the bill, you have to go to the ATM to withdraw cash. Of course you're welcome if you leave your ID card.

Asparagus cream soup resembles water in which asparagus has been boiled. Rolls were hard as stones. Service staff unfriendly. Noodles disgustingly oily.

What could be nicer than sitting by the lake in great spring weather and letting yourself be pampered! My desserts and pizza were very, very tasty and the service was always very courteous and friendly. They really go out of their way to get to every guest as quickly as possible! Not an easy job and being friendly is an art, since not all guests are always friendly and, as observed, some of them act like the center of the world. For this reason ! BRAVO to every single person who works there and serves the guests with a smile and jumps!!!

Here you can find Swiss prices in Germany. Price-performance ratio overpriced for German standards. The food was very good, the staff was of German standard. Nobody needs packaging tax.

The location of the restaurant was very nice and the toilets were clean - that made a good first impression. However, the food was rather average. There were few options, especially for vegetarians, so I opted for a Margherita pizza. Unfortunately the tomato sauce was a bit too sour for my taste. The biggest problem, however, was the service. When I said I would pay by card, I was joking with my partner and didn't immediately get around to mentioning the tip. At this moment, the waiter hurriedly wrote down the amount, sighed in annoyance and clearly showed his dissatisfaction. He didn't say goodbye or thank you - he just put the bill on the table without a word and left. This behavior was completely inappropriate. Tipping is not an obligation, but a gesture of appreciation. Since he was being so rude, I ultimately decided not to give him one.

The day before yesterday we were able to enjoy the tournament evening in the harbor master's office on the occasion of the senior hockey championship. The entire service team was very attentive and courteous from start to finish. The 3-course menu (ginger carrot soup, ribeye with au gratin potatoes and green beans and a beautifully presented dessert plate with various sweet dishes) was very tasty and the price (€ 65.00) was certainly justified. HC Konstanz will probably get a piece of the cake too. But let's leave that alone for now ;-) Many thanks again and would be happy to do so again perhaps on another occasion.

Only had two coffees and an apple strudel. The prices are quite high, almost 10 euros for 1 portion of fries... unfortunately the apple rrudel was also rather bad.

It's nice to sit outside and get nice service despite the stress because it was really full. The drinks also come very quickly. We didn't eat anything.

Very stylishly decorated restaurant. The outdoor area is also very nice and large. The service was super friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable. The coffee was very tasty. There is also delicious cake (according to the next table). Everything is reasonably priced. I was even surprised by the price and was expecting more.

It was our first time in Konstanz and even though it was Carnival, the atmosphere was very pleasantly quiet. The entire staff was nice and accommodating. The food can only be given a full 5 stars! Absolutely inexpensive and high quality. We'd love to come back.

The service was friendly and the food was good. Overpriced, but that will be the Lake Constance surcharge. When my children didn't eat all of their pizzas (one costs just under €20), we wanted to have the two halves of the pizza wrapped up. The waitress called the manager and he explained to us that there was a new tax law in Baden-Württemberg that if we wanted to take the food with us, we would have to pay taxes again on the already taxed food, another 19% VAT, so a total of 38% VAT, he said said that would result in an additional €8. For me this is a disgrace, a pure rip-off. We will not visit this restaurant again.

There is no suitable table here for groups of 5 or more. The waiter sends you back and forth unfriendly. If you have a stroller you are also a guest non grata. There is no vegan milk...

For years I have been here in winter to visit the cute Christmas market on Lake Constance. It has therefore become a tradition to drink a coffee and eat a piece of cake in the harbor master's office. The varieties such as rhubarb cake, baked apple cake and apple strudel are very tasty. However, the Kaiserschmarrn wasn't that convincing. Of course that's a matter of taste. I haven't eaten warm here yet, it's simply too expensive for me. As do the drinks. Anyone who drinks a Red Bull here for €6.50 has only themselves to blame. I also felt sorry for the €5.50 for the Diet Coke. The point is deducted for the smelly sanitary facilities. The sink may look modern, but it's absolutely unsuitable for washing your hands - you'll inevitably put everything under water. The revolving door of the toilet machine was open. I assume that it is only used in high season to ask toilet users who don't eat anything to pay. Otherwise I like it here, it's cozy and clean and the staff is very friendly. Nevertheless, the next time I visit the old town, I will look for another café.

Prices above ground... dusty, fly droppings on the window sills, service not exactly friendly, slow... and unkempt teeth, we lost our appetite and then limited ourselves to coffee and cake... the only thing was that the cheesecake was good was. Actually a nice location...but not like that.

RIP-OFF, RIP-OFF, RIP-OFF!! Beautifully located, staff not very helpful and food overpriced for average quality at best. I ordered a small portion of soup (10€) with no taste - probably a ready-made soup and outrageous for the price... We won't be back

Sehr positiv überrascht haben mich die kreativen Zusammenstellungen der schmackhaften Mahlzeiten, die aufmerksame und schnelle Bedienung und die perfekte Lage direkt am See. Vor- und Hauptspeisen waren so grosse Portionen, dass ich das eingeplante Dessert weglassen musste.

The good first! The food (pizza) was very fresh and had a lot of toppings. The taste was very tasty and would also be recommended. That's about it for the good ones in this restaurant. The tablecloth was dirty, the waiter had no attitude and because we were 2 women we ordered 1 pizza for 2 people because 1 per person was just too much for us. We then got the pizza on one plate with the comment that if we wanted two plates it would cost 1 euro more. Then everyone took our small plate with the cutlery on it. Sorry, but service looks different, especially in a fancy restaurant.

Pizza is tasty, I didn't get a box for the rest of the pizza (half), saying it wasn't allowed, well... Half the pizza was put in a small bag, not appetizing, very expensive and poor service, a shame ☹️

We were here in autumn and after a short walk we came across a pleasant restaurant with a beautiful view of Lake Constance. The atmosphere was complemented by a beautifully colored tree, under which we settled. I have to commend the waiters for their really helpful behavior and level. We ordered two macchiatos and a tea for a friend. Everything was absolutely perfect, and all for beautiful Swiss prices :)

A very unfriendly and inattentive waiter combined with carelessly prepared tiramisu and lukewarm cappuccino at overpriced prices. I've been there several times and unfortunately the service has deteriorated over time. I will save myself the visit in the future. The only plus point is the view of the harbor

We had an extremely delicious meal there. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The only negative point was the weather ;-)

Food tastes like a finished product, service was subpar. Dirty dishes and the boss yelling at his employees. In between the music was raised to Ballermann's volume and we were shouted at if the music was quieter he could just leave it out. The toilets were at least clean. There is nothing more positive to report.

We ordered a beer and an Aperol Spritz there. The 0.3L beer costs €5.20 and €9.50 for the Aperol. Beer is tasty but a bit too small. Aperol contains more water than other ingredients, so you almost only taste water.

The location of the restaurant is really great. The interior design is rather neutral. Unfortunately we were once again disappointed by the service and also the food. The sauces tasted bland, the fish was fried for too long and the salad was literally drowned in marinade. In addition, one too many meals were delivered...the nice waiter must have misunderstood us. When we wanted to take half the pizza with us, there wasn't even a piece of paper to wrap it with. Very bad service. The prices are excessive under the circumstances. We cannot recommend the restaurant and we will not be visiting it again. If you go a few steps further you come to the inn, it's very nice and you also have a beautiful view of the lake!

Beautiful view of the harbor and table by the window. The still water was good. So much for the positive impressions. Then, unfortunately: Thai curry soup was totally over salted. The unfriendly waiter wasn't interested, and the chef probably wasn't either. The red wine ice cold. We were taught that 12 degrees was correct for red wine. The Thai curry consisted of a huge pile of sticky rice with a few vegetables in a boring sauce. Only the price is top notch. Apparently the owner has changed, we should have checked first.

We enjoyed the excellent antipasti platter for two on the terrace. We were politely asked every now and then if everything was OK. Service very nice. Gladly again.

The food is very tasty but the service is very bad. After eating we wanted to take the leftover food with us, but when we asked for packaging material we said they didn't have any. But when you look into the kitchen, the pizza boxes are piling up. You feel like you're being made fun of.

We came here for lunch with six people and were very disappointed. The staff was very unfriendly from the start, forgot and mixed up orders without apologizing, and didn't give us enough menus or enough cutlery for our entire group. The food was mediocre for the very high price and when paying there was a complaint about not enough tip. Afterwards there wasn't even a farewell. Overall, it's a shame because the location right on the harbor is actually very nice.

Today I would like to thank the waitresses for going above and beyond to make our dinner exceptional. Your warm welcome and excellent service played a crucial role. The waitresses were simply fantastic, they knew the cuisine very well and gave great recommendations 🥰🥰🥰. Please 🙏offer them a reward, they deserve it.

You don't get served here; the staff looks at you but doesn't notice the guests. Left after waiting 20 minutes. Only then did movement come into the place. Too late, sorry. That doesn't work at all. By the way, it was manageable for the guests. Want and ability are very close together! 👎

Coffee is only offered with cow's milk, no alternative. Kaiserschmarrn was also rather medium. The apple compote tasted like it came from a prepackaged package. Rather disappointing for the beautiful location. What was very positive was that we were served very quickly and didn't have to wait long for drinks and food.

El señor dueño del restaurante contrata empleados a través de una oficina croata porque nadie de los alrededores va a trabajar porque todos saben la mala reputación que tiene. as a worker in the restaurant I say it was a very bad experience for every future worker to know. The man who owns the restaurant hires employees through a Croatian office because no one from the surrounding area goes to work because everyone knows the bad reputation it has. I endured a month and a week and he didn't pay me. He owes me, when I went to ask for the money he told me that I would have to pay a fine instead of being paid. I am attaching messages.

8.90 euros for a portion of fries is simply not possible! The rest was okay, but the prices should be changed! As a guest, the 0.50 cent for using the toilet will be credited back to your bill!

The service was very rude, especially the man with glasses and a beard. Food mediocre, Kaiserschmarrn was inedible. I won't go back there and I don't recommend it to anyone.

My companion and I wanted to enjoy the beautiful summer evening and have something to drink last night (8/24/24 around 8:00 p.m.). We sat in the farthest row and were also noticed by an employee (black hair, dark complexion). But that was the only one of the employees. When we still weren't served after 15 minutes, even though there wasn't much going on at that time, we went to another restaurant. As I was walking I noticed two female waitresses chatting animatedly! Apparently the "Hafenmeisterei" doesn't need to pay close attention to new guests...!

Pizza and pasta were very good and the view of the harbor was great. Price is ok for Prominade... a small point of criticism would be that the waitress is explained what a small spoon is because supposedly there wasn't one in the house. But after asking in the restaurant we got one for the little plug👍😉

My pizza goat cheese, pears... was very good. Good wheat beer, cold... The waiter was very friendly and the musician in front of the bar played exactly my songs... all in front of Lake Constance... what more could you want...
