We received a very friendly welcome and were given a seat immediately. The ambiance is beautiful; the window seats by the water are especially recommended.

We were there on New Year's Eve and had the set menu! It was a wonderful evening. The service was excellent, super friendly and attentive! The food was also fantastic... All in all, a perfect start to a lovely New Year's Eve.

The food, ambiance, and service were good. It was very crowded and therefore noisy. However, the wait times were perfectly acceptable. The owner seemed a bit gruff with the staff, but perhaps he just has a different sense of humor. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and the food was good.

Tourist trap: High prices, poor service, but the most disappointing thing was that you have to pay to use the toilet, which wasn't even very clean, and because we asked for a box of pizza to take home that we couldn't finish at the table, they asked us for another 1 euro...ridiculous.

We were there in the summer. The view of the lake is beautiful then. Now we have the Christmas market, which starts at the restaurant.

I always love coming here! The service is consistently friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The appetizers and main courses are delicious and beautifully presented – the fresh salmon with creamy risotto was particularly impressive. The pizza is also very good, and the varied pizza menu offers something for everyone. Highly recommended for a relaxed and delicious meal!

The restaurant is in a really beautiful location right on the water. If you get a good table, you have a truly fantastic view. The food is okay, but nothing special. €22 is too much for that, in my opinion. The service was good at first, but it got really annoying after a while when someone came by every 5-10 minutes to ask if everything was alright.

As a guest, you have to leave a 1-euro deposit to use the restroom. You can then redeem the deposit with the waiter. Just like on motorway restrooms.

We ordered pizza, salad, and bruschetta here. Unfortunately, the pizza didn't live up to our expectations—instead of a typical stone-baked pizza, it felt more like a ready-made pizza from a supermarket. The salad was covered in a lot of sauce, which also didn't taste homemade. The bruschetta was okay, but overall, we weren't impressed with the food. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The location by the lake is very nice, with music, etc.! It's a great place just for a drink. Our server was very friendly (a woman with glasses).

Sensational, top service, top food, Would gladly go again

The Hafenmeisterei boasts a truly fantastic location right on the water – perfect for a relaxing visit. The service was also excellent: very fast, attentive, and extremely friendly. No long waits – that was really great! There are a few drawbacks, however: You have to pay €1 to use the restroom (unfortunately, card payments aren't accepted, but the staff at least change the bills). Guests who leave a certain amount of money behind should actually be able to use the restroom for free – it's understandable that you'd want to charge non-guests, but for guests… the cleanliness and amenities could have been better. My pizza, at €21.90, was on the higher end (price level comparable to Dubai or Singapore). It tasted good, but too soft for my taste – at €21.90, everything should really be perfect. So, overall, a solid experience with strengths in service and location, but also room for improvement!

We ordered pizza because, on our last visit, 4 years ago, was so excellent. Today, we ordered the same pizza but they were overbacked, chewy and we had to give up after third slice. Later, we ordered some salads and there were the same. No taste at all and sauce had terrible taste.

The waitress didn't even ask if we wanted another drink, even though our drinks had been empty for 30 minutes (the same thing happened to the person sitting next to us). The food was neither satisfactory in taste nor quality, and at a premium price. You don't need a chef or a shopper for that...

We weren't exactly politely reprimanded because we opened the parasol ourselves. The waiter showed no empathy for the guests. Zero professionalism. They should visit a well-run family-run restaurant in Austria to see how hospitality is practiced there. The food... I expected a homemade schnitzel... but we got a frozen industrial schnitzel, and the fries weren't great either. For this price, it's a complete joke... They skimp on raw materials, which comes at the expense of quality. I might as well go to a chip shop, where I know what to expect. ...What a shame. For a restaurant in this prime location...

The food was mediocre, and the service, unfortunately, was not at all up for criticism, especially considering the interesting restroom system (similar to a motorway service station). The restroom system is definitely not customer-friendly, and thus a real negative point: The restrooms cost €1, which is incomprehensible in itself – but even worse if you don't have a €1 coin with you: You're literally left standing in the rain. Card payments? Not an option.

If you don't have a one-euro coin, you have no chance of going to the bathroom. However, we ate for about 70 euros. Last time here, the Asian food also took some getting used to. The staff weren't open to criticism. The most tragic thing for me. One could learn from their mistakes.

We went to the harbor master's office for a relaxing drink during our vacation. We were sitting on the terrace when our dog discovered the rats living underneath. They then ran from the terrace towards the shore and back again. Disgusting! The staff simply replied that they were aware of the problem but couldn't do anything about it. Not recommended!

The food was more or less okay. The service was a bit apprehensive but friendly. The food took a long time to arrive, and some of it was forgotten... You have to pay to use the restroom. €120 for three people is extremely excessive for this meal. NOT RECOMMENDED. NEVER AGAIN.

Very clean toalet, even with restaurant being near the harbor. The prices are a bit high, but not much higher than in restaurants in the city. You also have more choices of drinks and food. And it has nice view on the lake and the mountains. So, all in all, it's definitely worth visiting. I'll come again for sure!

We had a fish dish here tonight on our last day of vacation. A delicious pan full of fish, and it was delicious. One thing to keep in mind is that if you serve fish with squid rings, fry them until crispy and soft on the inside and serve them in a separate bowl on the plate. They had become soft, and the prolonged heat of the plate turned them rubbery. That's a shame, isn't it? The fries and salad were delicious with it. The menu is very extensive, by the way. From pizza to fish dish and everything in between. I'm not sure the kitchen always gets that right. Sometimes a smaller menu is more manageable, and you can focus on that. The location is very nice. We were seated in the harbor area, so there was plenty to see. Tip: if you have such a large terrace, make sure you have enough staff serving. People sometimes had to wait a long time and raise their hands until someone was available.

3 drinks for 12.10... OK, the atmosphere is very nice. Then you want to go to the bathroom and they charge you another euro. If I'd known, there wouldn't have been a tip... What a disgrace.

We went there spontaneously because we liked the location. When we got the menus, the first thing we noticed was the high prices. We thought, well, that's probably fine. The service was awful, unfriendly, and slowly becoming incompetent. This Peter is mentioned a lot in the reviews; the boss should think about it. I'm in the restaurant business myself, and they did everything wrong that could be done wrong! The best part was charging €1 for a takeaway pizza... ps. Pizza 100% overcooked... Never, never, will I eat there again!!

We walked to the harbormaster's office with the intention of getting something to eat. There was plenty of space, so we could choose our own seats. We were able to order our drinks fairly quickly and received them after a few minutes – but after that, we lost contact with the waiters. We would have liked to order something from the menu – as I said, we were there with the intention of getting something to eat – but unfortunately, no waiter was available to take our order. Paying for drinks was also difficult, but after an eternity of waiting, we finally managed that. It's a shame, really, because the restaurant offers very nice seating and there are plenty of tables.

I ate a pizza, but expected a bit more since the pizza at a takeaway tastes just as good. The pizza was expensive, €20, and there were a lot of flies, well, it's not their fault. I can understand that the toilet costs €1, but not for those who eat there.

A true gem on Lake Constance! The management is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the service is absolutely top-notch – attentive, fast, yet relaxed. You immediately sense that nothing is fake here: everything is honest, run with love and passion. A very cozy, charming shop where you feel at home from the very first moment. Everything was perfect – I would love to come back!

Bad service, poor value for money

I was expecting a dish I can't get at Aldi or Lidl: a real schnitzel. They served two small pieces of frozen schnitzel from the supermarket. And the price was enormous. I'm not complaining about the price, but about the quality of the food they offer.

We had a lovely outdoor seating on the terrace, slightly elevated, with a fantastic view of the harbor, the lake, and Switzerland. The service was very attentive. It's not cheap, but the quality is good.

Unfortunately, we fell into the tourist trap with this restaurant. The food was really bad. The pork schnitzel turned out to be frozen meat, the sea bream was old and soft, and the only thing that was okay was the €20 pizza. So, we can only warn you! Keep walking, even if the restaurant has a good location.

Restaurant in a great location with a train station atmosphere: everything is a bit dated, and the service speaks broken German. The glasses are dirty, and you have to pay a euro to use the restroom. Unfortunately, I didn't like it.

I went there for breakfast and ordered a farmer's bread with cream cheese, avocado, and two fried eggs – for €12.50. The idea is actually good, but the execution wasn't convincing: The avocado and cream cheese spread was significantly too sour, probably due to too much lemon. The fried eggs weren't cooked properly, and the egg whites were still runny in places. Overall, it was just a thick slice of bread with toppings – the price was too high for that. Individual requests are generally not taken into account. Everything is served strictly as it appears on the menu – which I found to be inflexible and not particularly hospitable. The biggest negative for me was the restroom situation: access only via a turnstile for €1. This amount is deducted, but you need to know that beforehand. If you've already spent around €20 on food – like me – this is a negative surprise. Unfortunately, the employee reacted quite snippy to my comment. Conclusion: The food was okay, but overpriced. The atmosphere and the way guests were treated were disappointing for me. I'm torn between two and three stars, but I'm choosing two because the overall feeling just wasn't right.

The food was good... unfortunately not cheap. But appropriate for the location

What can I say? It's a prime example of those German idiosyncrasies you'd rather not print on postcards. A scene that gives the impression that stinginess, avarice, and a certain interpersonal frostiness have found their stronghold here. Friendliness seems to be in short supply—with one honorable exception: the girl who stands out with her remarkable warmth and openness. The rest? Well, intellectual brilliance was apparently not part of the daily agenda. One could almost think that thinking is optional here—and unfortunately, often deselected.

An absolute disaster. This "restaurant" on the harbor is nothing more than a tourist trap with overpriced prices, unloving dishes, and service that was probably recruited from the last pirate ship. The menu? Deluxe frozen food – served lukewarm, completely tasteless, and probably expired in 2017. The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a train station kiosk after midnight than a cozy restaurant with a harbor view. The music was loud, the restrooms were an adventure, and the waiters seemed completely overwhelmed or completely disinterested. The only bright spot? A Czech waitress who was not only nice, but the only one who knew what she was doing. If she hadn't smiled, I probably would have fled. The only thing that was truly "enjoyable" here was the view of the water. But even that couldn't compensate for the bland taste of the food and the shock of the bill. Never again. Unless I'm just there for the waitress.

I recommend visiting the restaurant if you want to get a mediocre experience for a lot of money. The atmosphere in the establishment is pleasant, about the same as a gastroenterological examination. The interior looks cheap, uninteresting, as if the owners were inspired by The Sims Players Gallery. Not even 500 candles from IKEA, let alone light chains from TEMU, will improve it. The location seems nice, but I would rather choose a nicer restaurant. The service does its job perfectly, but the prices are more outrageous than the fryers at McDonald's.

No way. To top it off, there was a wasp nest near the terrace. There were numerous wasps on the tables, even in the drinks. Replacements or new drinks? No way. When asked, they were more likely to be waved away than helped.

The place itself charms you with a nice view upon the water. Yet the staff & their service somehow manages to make this charm disappear. The waitress her attitude towards us was horrific, undeserving of service & rather denigrating. She was not allowing us to leave when we asked her to not service us with any drinks until we decided to stay. She said we never said we wanted to wait, nor seemed to care As the manager arrived she made rather mean remarks in german (thinking we couldn’t understand german :) ) and said we never stated her to wait. The manager seemed to not care about the waitress trying to trap us into paying something we did not order. Almost as if intended? Has to be one of the single most dehumanizing experience in a very human oriented field. I would recommend avoiding this place like the plague.

Beautiful location at the Konstanz harbor. If the receipt is correct, Peter T served us. It was 10:30 a.m., and we wondered how this unfriendly waitress would get through the day. No greeting, no thank you, despite the tip; simply abysmal. We had to tell him four times that we wanted to pay, and other guests had the same experience. So if you're planning on going on a ship, think carefully about your choice of restaurant! And it was almost deserted; in our area, four tables were occupied by two or three people. We can't say what the rest of the staff were like, but it couldn't have been worse! Result: Never again!

Very rude waiter, we ordered 2 pizzas and simply communicated an intolerance. His answer “do you see it in the list of ingredients?” - we were a little speechless and felt uncomfortable, definitely not reassured. The pizza dough was not good, some ingredients looked a week old. Very expensive as well. And to make it all worse it was extremely dirty: spiderwebs everywhere, hairs on the table and on the spicy oil. It’s just not a place where there is either passion nor love for what they do. Such a pity having the location they have.

The service was friendly, and the food and drinks were served quickly. Typical for a location at a tourist hotspot—the prices are rather high. Whether the service is worth it is something everyone has to decide for themselves. It's just a matter of supply and demand. It's no different at the harbor in other countries.

We sat down briefly, the waitress rolled her eyes at my father as he tried to put a piece of trash in a cup (the cup and trash belonged to the people sitting at the table before us). Then she spilled the old espresso on the table, soiling my mother's pants, which would normally be okay since it was an accident. However, the waitress was generally rude and arrogant. We got up and left. Not recommended.

We came here at short notice and wanted/were able to fully enjoy our evening with good wine and top-notch service. The value for money was very good, and we'd be happy to come back. The sea bream was highly recommended, as was the creative and delicious starter platter.

Waited almost 20 minutes for the beer! Everything else arrived quickly. If you want to order, it's best to let the staff know beforehand, otherwise they won't ask you! When the food arrived, special requests I'd made when ordering were ignored, even though they had been promised. I asked for garlic oil, and they rolled their eyes. I had to ask twice before it finally arrived! What I absolutely couldn't tolerate was the staff swearing as they walked past guests! And the ridiculous looks they gave to people with disabilities! A course on how to serve people would be a huge help!

This was my first time in Konstanz, unfortunately got off to a bad start going to Hafenmeisterei for a drink. Sat down and ordered a ginger ale and an espresso, definitely pricey at nearly 10 euros for 2 drinks. I paid for the drinks, then we both went to use the toilet, a cost of 1 euro each. I didn’t realise you could be reimbursed until a lady gave me my ticket which I hadn’t picked up from the machine, my husband put his in the toilet bin as had no idea it was required. I spoke with the waiter who had served us, he would only give me 1 euro as I didn’t have my husbands ticket, i explained we didn’t know about the reimbursements his reply was “Too bad, next time”. There will be no next time, outrageous.

The place was packed, and it was simply a pleasure to be there as a guest! Great service, good food, and a breathtaking freak show thanks to the SM ship! I'd love to go again.

Good breakfast. However, a 30-cent surcharge for milk instead of creamer is ridiculous.

The location is very nice by the harbor, and the service was friendly. But those were the only positive points. We spent €15 on bruschetta (four half-raw pizza rolls with spread), €18 on a salami pizza (Wagner frozen pizza), and €6.50 on a 0.4l Coke, and then had to pay €0.50 for the restroom… I've never experienced anything like that before. (Ps. €9.50 for Aperol, but it's only €7.50 in all the surrounding restaurants.)

The food here is truly unbelievably delicious, and the staff are all very friendly. It's truly top-notch, and I can recommend it to anyone!

Beware, it's a total tourist trap! Mislabeled wines served in a 0.5L glass carafe – disappointing in taste and definitely not what was on the menu or what we ordered. We ended up taking a bottle to be sure. The service was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed by every question. Restroom use? Only for a fee – seriously, in a restaurant! The prices are more reminiscent of Paris than Konstanz: completely exorbitant for what you get. Never again – this place is all about making a quick buck off tourists. 0% of regular customers

Here's the thing: I had a beer mat in my beer. Why?! Maybe a perverted joke, but I didn't find it that funny. At least I got a new one.

Unfortunately, our server was in a bad mood and didn't want to make any sales. The asparagus soup was cold. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the bruschetta either; only the sweet potato hummus was delicious. The zander was divine. Drinks for the second round were served after a very long wait. A third round didn't even happen. It's a shame that this dampened the overall impression.

We were pleasantly surprised. Friendly and nice staff, good food from a visible kitchen. In addition to the dishes from the Wolk, we recommend the Fritto. The terrace overlooking the harbor is not only large, but also always very busy.

Only cash payment possible. No EC card, no Visa Credit payment possible. At least you say it. But not before you've already eaten. After waiting an hour for the bill, you have to go to the ATM to withdraw cash. Of course you're welcome if you leave your ID card.

What could be nicer than sitting by the lake in great spring weather and letting yourself be pampered! My desserts and pizza were very, very tasty and the service was always very courteous and friendly. They really go out of their way to get to every guest as quickly as possible! Not an easy job and being friendly is an art, since not all guests are always friendly and, as observed, some of them act like the center of the world. For this reason ! BRAVO to every single person who works there and serves the guests with a smile and jumps!!!
