The fish soup was exemplary. The pizza was very good, but a bit too heavily topped for my taste.

Food, service, ambiance = good. I would go back. - What you should know: The tables in the restaurant are very close together, or rather "communicative." So there's no privacy, and the noise level is accordingly high.

I invited my family over for dinner at short notice. We were there with the kids for lunch. The lunch menu for kids is 👍, and of course, there are not only that but also other delicacies for adults. Everything is just perfect at Gioia.

Perhaps the best Italian restaurant in Düsseldorf: the food is always delicious, the service is very friendly, and the ambiance is lovely (there's now also an outdoor terrace at the back, so the Grafenberger Allee is no longer a nuisance).

For me, this is the best Italian restaurant in Düsseldorf. The pizza is excellent and very good value for money. The service is professional and friendly, so you always feel welcome. The exceptional, stylish ambiance is also particularly worth mentioning. In nice weather, you can sit on the new terrace, where you'll barely notice the noise from Grafenberger Allee. We always enjoy coming back. :)

We really enjoyed it; we got a table spontaneously. I was brave and had the fig-filled pasta, which really surprised me! Only the apple strudel for dessert could have been a bit bigger.

In June, we dined at the Gioia restaurant one evening. We were seated on the terrace, which was still being renovated at the time—but that didn't detract from our experience. The staff were very attentive and friendly, which made the visit enjoyable. We ordered a pizza parmigiana and a pizza pescatore. Unfortunately, the pizzas weren't quite to our liking—they perhaps needed to stay in the oven a little longer. When we brought this up later, we were told we should have returned the pizzas. In my opinion, they shouldn't have been served like that. Therefore, the value for money wasn't quite right for us. We finished off our meal with a tiramisu and an espresso, both of which were very good and rounded off the evening nicely. Overall, it was a pleasant evening with good service, even if the pizzas weren't exactly impressive.

There was no taste of Italian cuisine. Service was completely overwhelmed. Nice, new terrace.

A really lovely restaurant with fantastic food and great staff!

The service was friendly, the food fresh and well-prepared—but the taste was rather unspectacular. For the prices, I would have expected a bit more refinement. Overall, it was okay, but not a place I would specifically return to.

Gioia, one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Grafenberg and Gerresheim! We always enjoy coming back to Andrea and his always very attentive and friendly team. Special requests are always accommodated, the portions are generous, and the menu selection is always full of surprises. Vegan dishes are also offered, so there's something for everyone. The new terrace in the garden has been very popular, and the team ensures that the closing time there is adhered to – 10:00 p.m. – shortly before closing time, guests are kindly invited to take their drinks inside and enjoy the evening in peace. So, the neighbors can't complain about noise pollution. We'll be happy to come back!

We always enjoy coming back to Gioia – not only because of the delicious food, but also because of the always cheerful and attentive staff. The menu offers a variety of very good quality dishes throughout the year. I was particularly impressed by the dedicated vegan menu on my first visit – even though I'm not vegan myself. They work with great attention to detail, and you feel welcome – something you don't always get in Düsseldorf. The new terrace is also really nice – a fantastic addition! Reservations are recommended during peak times, but we've often found a spot for two on the spur of the moment. Another plus point for us: dogs are welcome! It's a bit tight inside with a dog – the outside is perfect.

Two of us came here for dinner and had a mixed platter of starters, which we shared between us, a pasta dish with seafood, a rump steak with green peppercorns, and tiramisu and almond parfait for dessert. The service was exemplary, and the food overall was very decent. The value for money was about right. Once the recently opened rear terrace is fully completed, the ambiance will probably deserve another star.

We had a wonderful family celebration at Gioia. From the communication regarding reservations, menu, etc., to the ambience, the extremely friendly, attentive and flexible service to the very tasty food, it was an absolutely successful experience. Always happy, highly recommended.

Overall OK. Service great, friendliness too. The food is generally good, but compared to the competition in Düsseldorf it is rather in the middle range as the fine-tuning unfortunately does not go above average. Nevertheless, pasta is homemade and the pizza dough can also do something. It's also child-friendly and acoustic, so you can have a normal conversation without being lost in the general murmuring of a full restaurant.

We came from Dortmund based on a recommendation. It was totally worth it besides all the shopping. We can strongly recommend this restaurant! We ordered pasta with truffle + chicken pieces. What shouldn't be missing, of course, is Aperol Spritz :)

The Goia restaurant delighted us with its excellent cuisine. The truffle pasta was perfectly al dente and full of flavor – to die for! In our group we shared the starters, including the octopus carpaccio with fennel and orange fillets, which was 10/10 in terms of taste. The crowning finale was the dessert plate “Fantasia di Dolci alla Goia”, a sweet selection that was completely convincing. Conclusion: Perfect Italian cuisine and great service – absolutely recommended!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. The food was delicious. The employees were nice and polite. But now I come to the real problem. We were there with a toddler (2 years old), and you know it's hard sometimes. I can't tell whether it was a mistake or whether they took advantage of the fact that things were difficult with the child. Because it was difficult with the child, we didn't check the bill before paying (big mistake). 1) They asked if we wanted an appetizer, and we didn't want it (it was still included in the bill). I don't know whether it's always charged regardless of whether you want it or not. (Clarified) see below 2) We ordered a small water and were charged for 2 waters that we didn't get. We were there this evening, December 22nd. The first time I was really disappointed, my wife's starter plate was so-so, my fish soup had no pep or taste with dry pieces of fish and a slice of bread (A small slice and that was still burnt) one shrimp was difficult to remove from the shell... The spaghetti with truffles was sticky and not seasoned, sticky roux, my pasta with dry pieces of fish was boring and bad or not seasoned at all, I had to order the parmesan cheese but it wasn't brought, the plates were only cleared about 15 minutes later, our criticism of the food was not professionally processed! Our bill of almost 100 euros was presented to us without comment, not a word of regret, let alone an apology……….very unfortunate

My first recent visit to “La Gioia” was enjoyable. Very attentive and nice service, even though the restaurant was fully booked. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, despite the high noise level. The starter (Vitello Tomato) was very tasty. The tagliatelle with beef fillet and king oyster mushrooms for 20.90 euros were unfortunately not so good : I was wondering if the chef even tasted the food? It mainly tasted like canned tomatoes with pasta...quite expensive for that.

We were in this restaurant for the first time yesterday and we just loved it! The service and customer friendliness is an 11 out of 10, here the customer really is king. The food was super tasty and came very quickly. The waiters were very attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere is beautiful, very cozy and chic at the same time. We are more than satisfied, I haven't eaten in such a great restaurant for a long time. We'll definitely be back!

Ordered a pizza via Uber eats last night. The dough was completely burnt and the toppings were next to the pizza. A brilliant performance from the pizza maker and the delivery service. You simply can't pass on a pizza like that to the customer. Point!!!

Good Italian food with friendly service

We celebrated our wedding at Gioia with around 40 guests. It was a complete success. From the menu to the service to the ambience, it's simply great! We really felt like we were in good hands.

It was my first visit to gioia. I'm thrilled. Starter scallops. Main course sea bream. Both dishes excellent. The wines to my taste. Staff friendly and competent. I will come back.

Very accommodating and friendly staff, warm and cozy atmosphere and delicious food. We were there with nine people for a birthday, were very satisfied and had a lovely evening! We were able to eat the cake we had brought with us in the restaurant for a small fee. The cake was cut for us and the service sang along to the birthday song. All in all a really lovely evening, thank you very much!

Gioia (Italian: "joy") - and what a! Gastronomically speaking, perhaps not a major innovation or flashbacks to Italy. But I had an extremely pleasant experience in dealing with customers through the staff here, despite the pear carpaccio and truffle linguine not being particularly complex in terms of taste. They were just fine, I don't want to complain about that. And for the price you can't ask for much more, so it's pretty fair. I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of vegan dishes. But let's come to my highlight of the evening: unfortunately, after 20 years (!) of living here, I have never experienced such outstanding, sincere and attentive service in Düsseldorf (except in Paris or L.A. until now). The acoustic panels, the velor-covered seating and the wooden bar also do a lot to create pleasant room acoustics in which many people can converse at a courageous volume, but there are never unpleasant resonances. The lighting is also, for my taste, pleasant, with the reddish-dark color accents, selection of art objects and decorations and the exposed stone walls visually creating an extremely comfortable ambience. The guest's comfort was really thought of from the start. A big shout out to everyone on the team!

Pasta is delicious. Of course, in an Italian restaurant, the pizza and pasta must be delicious. A restaurant that serves good steak is a real treat. The staff is friendly and the menus are perfect. Vongole, truffle pasta, and tenderloin steak are recommended.

Unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right at all. I really wanted to eat something interesting vegan, but neither the quantity nor the taste of the vegan cheese was right. The surrounding lettuce leaves were wilted and carelessly prepared. A pity.

I just had dinner with my company at GIOIA I would not say less than it was such great experience. The place was extremely full and we haven’t even noticed due to their professional service and attitude. Food was served on time. I had allergy (lactose intolerant ) they made sure that I get the exact meals. I really salute the whole staff for their spirits and taking the stress with laughter to create a good atmosphere for their customers. I strongly recommend GIOIA and I would diffidently come back to them.

All in all good. Went here with a group of four on Friday evening and the restaurant was full to capacity, so you should definitely make a reservation on the weekend. Due to the number of visitors, we had to wait a long time for the starter and main course - around 1.5 hours. So far no problem at first as there was a lot going on. The food was good but we were all hoping for a little more and the prices are quite high. However, the quality of the ingredients seemed to be very good, for example the starters were very good. Maybe try it again during the week when there's less going on, but all in all it's not a restaurant that you'll remember.

I think it's a matter of taste. We had pizza with beef strips and pasta with beef and king oyster mushrooms. Ambience was cozy and Italian. Coffee was very good.

Super nice staff and very child friendly! But I kind of get the impression that there are two chefs working there, because sometimes the same dishes just taste bland and poorly seasoned. Was there a total of 4 times After the first time I was so excited that I invited my whole family there and everyone didn't like it, even the bruschetta was missing all the spices and the chocolate mousse is easier to make at home than this mush with coarse pieces of sugar. After a year I gave the store another chance and it was delicious again. Then laff again last weekend. Or the dishes are pre-cooked / frozen, I don't know where these fluctuations come from. In any case, far too expensive for the bad taste.
