Hier kann man wunderbar Frühstücken und am Nachmittag ein kühles Getränk zu sich nehmen und dabei die herrliche Aussicht auf die Nordsee genießen 😊

Touri-Lokal Bestellen am Tresen, Getränke werden gebracht, ein Pager fordert zum Abholen der Speisen auf. Letztere waren nicht sonderlich hochwertig, TK-Backfisch und co, Remoulade aus dem Plastiknapf.

Gute Auswahl an Essen, vernünftige Portionen und wirklich lecker. Freundliches Personal, schöner Blick zum Meer.

Knuspriges Bacon im Barbecue Burger, generell sehr leckeres, frisches Essen und es war blitzschnell zubereitet.

Der Rindfleisch Burger war gut. Der Hähnchen Burger war sehr trocken vom Fleisch. Das Bruschetta war auch nur ok, das Baguette war schon durchgeweicht und der Käse hatte nicht viel Geschmack.

Ich war heute morgen dort zum Frühstück. Ein guten ist eigentlich nicht zu viel verlangt. Eher muffiges Personal. Das Buffet, geht so. Lieblos und übersichtlich. Positiv ist dass es Kaffee und Tee inklusive ist. Morgen definitiv woanders

Die Cocktails waren mega lecker und preislich mehr also ok. Das Essen auch lecker... ein wenig mehr Soße für mein Schnitzel hätte ich gerne gehabt(das ist aber jammern auf hohem Niveau) Mein Gegenüber hatte einen Burger und war auch sehr zufrieden. Personal sehr freundlich!!! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Ich persönlich finde es ist ein gutes Plätzchen mit Blick zum Wasser. Essen und Trinken fand ich persönlich auch lecker und vor allem reichlich.

Im Friesenjung fanden wir immer ein trockenes Plätzchen, wenn ein Schauer kam. Die Getränke waren lecker, der Kuchen ebenfalls. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sowohl drinnen als auch draußen ein fantastischer Blick auf die See. Die Burger 🍔 sind top.😋

Service hat mir nicht gefallen. Essen war ganz gut.

Waren bei unser heutigen Tagestour auf Wangerooge zwei mal dort. Einmal einfach nur um nach der Ankunft gemütlich einen Kaffee und ein Mineralwasser respektive eine Apfelschorle zu trinken. Da es dort sehr gemütlich und ansprechend war sind wir später noch einmal wieder gekommen um, vor der Rückreise, etwas zu Essen. Das Speisenangebot war vielfältig und wir haben uns für einen Cheeseburger mit Pommes sowie einem Hähnchenburger mit Pommes entschieden . Die Speisen wurden frisch zubereitet und standen kurze Zeit später zur Verfügung. Es war sehr lecker, mehr als ausreichende Portionen und qualitativ war alles Tippi Toppi. Vielen Dank.

Gute Lage, gute Cocktails. Essens Qualität auf FastFood-Niveau. Burger, Pizza ok. Bedienung langsam. Telefonisch für Reservierungen nicht erreichbar. War mal deutlich besser! Schade.

Hier wird TK-Ware serviert. Ich habe selten so eine schlechte, fettige, vor Fett triefende Pizza gegessen.

Man merkt, dass hier Qualität auf den Teller kommt. ​Service: Das gesamte Personal war extrem freundlich und aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. ​Drinks: Die Auswahl an Cocktails ist riesig. Die Drinks sind top gemixt und die Preise dafür absolut fair. ​Fazit: Ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wer gut essen und in netter Atmosphäre etwas trinken möchte, ist hier genau richtig! ​Gerne wieder!

Der Friesenjung liegt top an der oberen Strandpromenade mit Hammerblick aufs Meer. Service ist im Wesentlichen Selbstbedienung, nur die Getränke werden an den Tisch gebracht. Na gut, ist ja schließlich kein ‚fine dining‘ natürlich. Speiseauswahl und -qualität sind gut, Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ebenso.

durchschnittliche Systemgastronomie mit Meeresblick, das junge Team war freundlich und schnell und die Geschirr-Rückgabe funktioniert gut.

Super lecker Essen zu guten Preisen. Die Cocktails kann man wirklich empfehlen. Schneller Service bei Getränke. Alles Ebenerdig also auch für Rollie oder Gehwagen geeignet. Wenn wir auf Wangerooge sind, ist Freisenjung für uns Pflicht.

Gestern Schnitzel abgeholt waren super lecker und mager.Sehr zu empfehlen.

Nichts Besonderes. Kleine Waffeln. Teikweise lustlos Servicepersonal. Und das Ambiente ist nicht mein Fall.

Es ist eine gut funktionierende, robuste Urlaubs- und Strandgastronomie. Die Speisen holt man selbst, Getränke werden gebracht. Der kakao mit Sahne ist sehr lecker.

Wirklich cooles Restaurant. Egal ob Mittags, zur Kaffeezeit oder zum Abend, es gibt immer was leckeres zu Essen. Es ist für meinen Geschmack etwas teuer aber man zahlt halt den schönen Ausblick mit. Wir waren zur Kur auf Wangerooge und waren öfter hier essen. Dem Kind hat es jeweils auch immer geschmeckt.

Der spontane Besuch im FriesenJung war ein schönes Erlebnis. Das Selbstbedienungskonzept von der Bestellung, der Bedienung der Getränke am Tisch und der Abholung der Mahlzeiten wurde durch das durchweg freundliche Bedienung gekrönt. Das Essen schmeckte gut. Kein Touri-Nepp. Der Besitzer des Lokals kann sich über sein so gutes Personal glücklich schätzen.

Wenn es schnell gehen soll. Es liegt direkt an der Strandpromenade und bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf die Nordsee. Und die Cocktails sind wirklich lecker.

Schön und unkompliziert, nette Atmosphäre. Mit Selbstbedienung auch mal länger sitzen bleiben möglich.

Auf die Frage, ob es beim Frühstücksbuffet etwas Veganes gibt, wurden wir lediglich achselzuckend mit den Worten „nur das, was hier ausliegt“ beantwortet. Auf die Nachfrage „also gar nichts Veganes?“ kam erneut nur „nein, nur die Sachen, die im Buffet ausliegen“. Dabei ging es weniger darum, dass nichts klar deklariert war – das kann passieren – sondern vor allem um den Tonfall, der wenig freundlich und überhaupt nicht einladend war. Das Frühstücksbuffet selbst war insgesamt sehr enttäuschend. Der als „Obstsalat“ angebotene Mix wirkte geschmacklich und optisch eindeutig wie aus der Dose. Auch bei weiteren einfachen Nachfragen, etwa ob es heißes Wasser für Tee gibt, hatte das Personal offensichtlich keinerlei Lust zu helfen. Für ein Restaurant, das sich ein modernes und hippes Erscheinungsbild gibt, ist das Gesamtpaket leider ziemlich armselig. Service und Qualität passen hier nicht zum Anspruch.

Wir waren hier vor Ort im Dezember 2025 kurz vor dem Jahreswechsel in 2026. Das Essen war schmackhaft und reichlich und wird nach einer Bestellung an einer Kasse durch den Gast selbst zu Tisch gebracht. Also hier wird Mithilfe vom Gast eingefordert. In der Praxis funktioniert das hier auch recht gut. Eine Reservierung ist hier angezeigt,die Plätze aber eng getaktet.. Das Schiff der Seenotretter haben wir gern gefüttert. Nachtrag vom 1.1.2026 ..am Neujahrstag waren wir hier zum Frühstück. Dies war von guter reichhaltiger Qualität.

Wie jedes mal ein essen mit verspätung ! Die anderen am tisch hazten schon alles auf gegessen bevor das letzte essen die küche velassen hat ! Ps . Die portionen sind ganz schön klein geworden für soviel geld !

Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen einen Tisch am Vortag zu reservieren. Wenn ihr am Abend einfach hingeht werdet ihr wegen Überfüllung weggeschickt. Ansich schöner Laden. Essen ist echt okay und die Preise waren auch angemessen.

Sehr schönes Restaurant zum einkehren am Abend! Wir waren zweimal Abends im Dezember da und wir mussten nicht auf einen Tisch warten. Einmal haben wir auch Essen zum abholen bestellt und haben auch hier nicht lange gewartet. Angenehmer Geräuschpegel wärend des Aufenthalts im Restaurant. Jedes Essen was wir gegessen haben war super lecker, besonders die Bruschettas und Cocktails! Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder beim nächsten Besuch auf Wangerooge!

Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Essen schmeckt gut, Preis Leistung sehr gut. Hervorragendes Ambiente in

Impro-Ambiente, warme Küche, Meerblick. Preise gehobener Standard, die dafür gebotene Qualität passt allerdings nicht. Bei Chicken Nuggets und Pommes kann man darüber hinwegsehen, wenn ein Matjes-Teller für 15,90 Euro allerdings aus nur zwei kleinen Filets und Kartoffelsalat aus dem Eimer besteht, und der Rest mit Blattsalat aufgefüllt ist, sitzt man erstmal vor einer Enttäuschung. Alles wird teurer, aber dafür, dass man sich sein Essen selber holt, hätte ich mehr Qualität oder geringere Preise erwartet. Der Burger-Patty auf einem Cheeseburger für 10,50 Euro schmeckte wie ein Supermarkt-Fertigpatty. Die Pommes Frites fanden allerdings überall Anklang.

Nette Atmosphäre,, vernünftige Preise für die Lage und ein durchdachtes Konzept. Wir sind immer gerne hier.

Sehr schönes Restaurant. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Das Essen holt man selbst ab. Die Ausgabe wie auch die Aufnahme des Essens läuft sehr gut. Man wird sehr freundlich behandelt.

Ohne Worte, Tisch reserviert, Gäste ohne Reservierung werden vorgezogen und man bekommt ins Gesicht gelogen. Nie wieder

Great view, delicious cocktails

Unfortunately, the Frisian boys took my beer. I was just using the restroom. What a pity.

The food is good, but not good value for money, especially the drinks. Friendly, fast service. Restaurants need to pay attention to their prices. This is our fourth time on Wangerooge, but we've never eaten out as rarely as this time.

Great place to have a drink at the end of the day in a beach chair overlooking the North Sea and enjoy the atmosphere.

A great restaurant right on Wangerooge's promenade. Whether morning, lunch, or dinner, the Friesenjung is always open and always good. We've eaten and drunk there every time of year. We especially want to mention the delicious and plentiful breakfast. At €19.50 including all drinks, it's a great deal for anyone who wants to start the day with a direct view of the North Sea.

The cocktails here are incredibly delicious. Otherwise, the restaurant has a slight McDonald's feel, only with better food quality and a nicer interior. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. However, due to the self-service and the sticky tables (seat reservations are apparently marked with stickers, so the sticky residue remains on the table), some of the menus need replacing, as they're a bit dirty in places. The outdoor seating is particularly pleasant, and the interior is also very nicely decorated.

Great location right on the beach. Order at the cash register, and drinks are then brought to your table. You pick up your food yourself when the timer goes off. Pizza, burgers, schnitzel, and cocktails (also available to go on the beach) are all very good. The spaghetti is also available in a children's portion. The tables could be cleaned a bit more quickly by the staff.

Nice shop in a great location. Fair value for money. The drinks are great. The food leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality and takes a really long time to arrive. It might be okay for a solo or couple, but there's no point in going there with a large group.

I can recommend the Friesenjung restaurant; we had a great meal there. The pizza margarita and one with mushrooms were delicious, the crust was very good, and they were big enough too. And Jever is delicious anyway. And you can sit on the promenade there. Nice in a beach chair or under a parasol. All in all, very good.

The drinks are great, and the value is okay. Unfortunately, the food can't keep up; the portions are a bit small and the wait times are quite long. There were seven people, and the first few had already finished by the time the last ones got their food. It's a shame.

The staff is very friendly. The burgers are good, but the cocktails are especially recommendable and really large. A special recommendation: the sea buckthorn mojito!

Super-friendly service, even when it's busy. Delicious pizza and the salad with mango chili sauce and chicken breast are especially recommended. Friesenjung...an absolute must for us on Wangerooge.

Food was okay but nothing special, waiting times were long but the view directly on the beach was nice

Located right on the beach. We enjoyed juicy burgers, romantic cocktails in a beach chair at sunset, and an extensive breakfast buffet (including Wi-Fi) on our departure day to sweeten the time until our departure. We've been there three times in five days, and it was a complete success three times.

A nice self-service concept. Some dishes are disproportionately expensive, but most things are affordable.

Perfect for families. Plenty of seating and, above all, a wide selection of food for all ages. It was delicious, fast, and very comfortable. We'll be back.

The restaurant boasts the best location and a fantastic sea view. The food and wait times are average at best.

What nonsense. A two-hour wait, poor service. We walked into the store with a clear conscience and high expectations for the food, which was also good. The first drawback was ordering and picking up the food ourselves, which would have been fine if it were a small fast-food joint. We ordered at 7:45 p.m. and received our food at 10 p.m. The unfriendly cashier then tried to justify herself and tell us we were the stupid ones. In retrospect, we sat there for three hours and had to wait languidly for the food. As an apology, they gave each person a free beer at the end, but that doesn't justify the wait. If the store is empty, it's worth considering, but if it's full, you shouldn't try it.

Even after 20 minutes, unfortunately, there were still no drinks. When asked, the table couldn't be found...

Highly recommended: friendly and well-organized team, delicious food, and a great location—simply pleasant both inside and out.

Lunch was delicious, with pizza, burgers, or currywurst, for example. The coffee, cake, and tarts were also delicious. And in the evening, there were delicious drinks, including non-alcoholic drinks. My children love the food too, and they're still small and don't like everything. As a family, we were always very satisfied!

The food is tasty and the portions are adequate. Drinks are okay, and the cocktails range from adequate to good, depending on the staff. Nice view and pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately, the restrooms were of the lowest standard (toilet paper was unrolled next to the toilet, and a toilet roll was stuck on the exit handle) and hadn't been cleaned in at least a day. This needs to be improved; use may be subject to a fee.

Great self-service restaurant right on the beach promenade with a fantastic sea view. A large selection of food – the burgers and fish dishes are particularly good, prices are reasonable, and service is friendly, though a bit slow during peak times. Some of the food is frozen, but overall, the food is solid. Ideal for a relaxing stopover on Wangerooge.

Completely overcrowded at peak times, despite pagers being handed out, people are pushing and shoving like crazy at the food counter.

Significantly improved. You can always find a spot, and it's very relaxed and easygoing with children. We had a lovely few days here.

We've been there repeatedly for both breakfast and dinner over the years. The location is naturally unique and always a great choice when the weather is nice. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service has noticeably declined over the years.

Delicious cocktails, friendly staff, service—okay, it's a self-service restaurant. When you order food, you get a pager that lets you know when your food is ready. The view over the sea is beautiful, especially in the dark. You can sit either directly on the promenade on benches or beach chairs, or under umbrellas on benches a little further away from the dunes. We ordered salmon with cherry tomatoes, crab sandwiches, and a pizza margherita. There were also various cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Beer lovers should check beforehand which of the mobile bars has the beer taps, as the other one only serves bottled beer. We always go to the Friesenjung when we're on W'ooge.

Nice self-service restaurant (only 3 stars for the service) with good food. I recommend sitting in a beach chair in front of the restaurant and enjoying the view of the North Sea while you dine, especially at sunset.

If the place is empty, I'd be happy to, STAY AWAY!!!! 1.5 hours of waiting with two small children, sorry, a no-go! Pizza arrives after 20 minutes! The rest waits another hour! After 1.5 hours, the rest arrives, the wrong burger, of course... Oh well... The kid ran out of ketchup, waited in line for another 15 minutes... A completely wrong system! Tables can only be booked at 5 or 7 p.m., and then you can't handle the rush! Not a recommendation, and never again!

Pleasant atmosphere with a great view of the promenade and the sea. Unfortunately, our little girl's food took a lot longer to arrive, but it was delicious. The burgers and salad are especially recommended. Definitely a lovely and highly recommended restaurant with an outdoor terrace and bar.

At the "Friesenjung," you'll find an appealing selection of food and drinks at almost any time of day, inside and outside, sometimes in beach chairs, sometimes with music. The staff is helpful, and some have been there for years. You order at the counter or at the bar outside, and you can take your drinks with you. You receive a guest pager for your ordered food, which you can then pick up inside. You sometimes have to watch out for cheeky birds who especially like to steal fries... 😅

Friesenjung on Wangerooge – Sea View, Good Food & a Touch of Improvised Charm As long-time Wangerooge fans (for over 15 years!), we know the island inside and out – and the Friesenjung, right on the beach promenade, is one of the places we love to stop by again and again. Whether for a relaxed lunchtime snack, a slice of cake in the afternoon, a cocktail at sunset, or dinner with the sound of the sea – the restaurant is versatile and rightly popular. Location & Atmosphere The location impresses with its modern, cozy, maritime-inspired decor in a coastal style – new, yet relaxed. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options, depending on the weather and your mood. And the view is unbeatable: Located directly on the promenade, with an unobstructed view of the North Sea and the ships on the horizon. If you love eating while enjoying the wind and waves, this is the place for you. Food & Drink We've tried our way through the menu over the years – and can honestly say: We've enjoyed everything so far. The pizza is crispy, the burgers juicy, the fries as they should be, the cake is fresh, the cocktails delicious, and the homemade iced tea is truly refreshing – even if it's not Michelin-starred cuisine, but rather honest, good coastal bistro food. However, fries don't automatically come with the burgers. One small drawback: The ice cream machine seems to have its own internal workings – unfortunately, the beloved chocolate milkshake wasn't always available. And: Since the pizza chef and chef apparently work separately, we've sometimes found that our two pizzas were ready 15 minutes before the burger and pasta – which unfortunately led to slightly different food. Better coordination would be desirable – or at least a reminder when ordering. Ordering Concept Here, the motto is: "You're the guest." You order at the front counter, receive a pager that vibrates as soon as the food is ready, and then pick it up yourself. The concept is appropriate for a restaurant of this type. Cocktails and drinks are brought to your table (inside). The staff is generally friendly, but of course, things can get hectic when the place is full (and that's often the case here in the evenings). If you're looking for absolute relaxation during peak season, bring that with you – or just look out at the sea; that always helps anyway. Conclusion The Friesenjung is a firm anchor on Wangerooge – modern, delicious, and reliable. If you're looking for a beach view, uncomplicated food, and a relaxed atmosphere, you'll be happy here. Minor lapses in timing and service are easily compensated for with a touch of sea air. And if the ice machine breaks down again – luckily there's still homemade iced tea available.

Very tasty burgers in a nice atmosphere. The only thing that bothers me is the self-service and the high prices; it could be more customer-friendly and service-oriented.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen zum Essen da. Das Essen war gut. Um 21:40 h wollten wir noch eine Runde Cocktails bestellen. Uns wurde dann kurz und knapp mitgeteilt, daß die Kasse schon geschlossen sei... Es gab keinerlei Info über Öffnungszeiten, geschweige denn einen Tipp, daß man letzte Bestellungen plazieren möge :-( Ein etwas mysteriöser Umgang mit Gästen!!!

We come here for dinner several times during our stay. The concept is especially suited to people who like to have some peace and quiet while eating. The view is great and the food is delicious.
