Great location, good service, and typical Norderney prices. The cappuccino was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive.

Friendly, courteous staff. There's a microwave for heating baby food, but unfortunately, there was still some baby food from the previous parent in it. I don't understand why other parents couldn't wipe up the spilled baby food. 3 stars because the "Kurt" was unfortunately a bit watered down (it's tasted better before) and the shandy had a strange aftertaste.

So, today I went here with my girlfriend for the first time because I really wanted to eat fish, and I can absolutely recommend it. I had the fish platter, my girlfriend had a pizza, and for dessert, we had creme brulee and teramisu. We were absolutely thrilled and would recommend this place to anyone and would love to come back. The service is excellent, and the chefs do a fantastic job, too. The atmosphere, with the direct view of the sea, is simply wow... :)

Yesterday, four of us visited the Giftbude. I was there alone last week. Where to begin? We had a great spot on the outdoor terrace. The staff was super friendly and incredibly attentive; I've rarely experienced anything so wonderful 😊 Drinks and food came very quickly, and the dishes were all served together, which unfortunately isn't common everywhere these days. We had two redfish dishes, one fish dish, and one sole dish. The food was simply delicious 🤤 We would choose the Giftbude again anytime, because service and quality are still very important here!!! Thank you for this wonderful experience 😘 You are simply amazing

We were here with the children at the end of May. We were greeted and served quickly and friendly. The food was delicious, and our children also enjoyed it very much.

The waiter was extremely nice, accommodated special requests perfectly, and the food was truly delicious. The portions were generous, too. Not to mention the beautiful view of the sea. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied this time; one dish was absolutely tasteless. When we asked if we enjoyed it, she looked suspiciously at the pasta plate, and we said, "No." The cream was overcooked, completely sticky, and had no flavor. The salmon tasted of nothing. There was no reaction. The other dishes were okay. Not even a reaction when paying. We had also made a reservation. Upon arrival, we were told we had canceled. We had our 93-year-old mother with us. We were then given a table in the corner and were given strange looks by another waiter. We didn't feel comfortable. The other waiters were very nice, though. We won't be going back for dinner, though.

Basically, the pizza is okay, but if you don't like a pile of flabby mushrooms from a jar, you should stay away from "Funghi"...

The first good restaurant you come across when you arrive by ferry and walk along the beach. A very nice, tall, dark-haired waiter with glasses gave us excellent advice, and the bottle of Pinot Gris was really good. The only food we had was baked potatoes and bruschetta. However, the menu offers a lot more, from fish to pizza. Absolutely reasonable value for money; €27 for a bottle of wine on the seafront is justifiable. You can have a great time here.

Simply put: a feel-good place with a fantastic view of the North Sea!

Good food and drink just from a small promenade from the beach. During the day there are tourists hanging around everywhere because the poison stall is an attraction on the west beach, as is the milk bar. If you like pseudo celebrities, you're in good hands here. In the evening it is a good restaurant that also offers good service.

We have been regular guests at this restaurant for several years and have been satisfied so far. Our visit today was all the more disappointing: we had a reservation with several people at two different tables. Unfortunately we were treated very unprofessionally by a short, dark-haired waitress. It was less about the content of the communication and more about the tone and way in which we were spoken to - unfriendly, condescending and inappropriate. This dampened the mood so much that part of our group left the restaurant and went to eat somewhere else. It's a shame, especially after so many years as loyal guests. We no longer come to the poison booth and are simply speechless about how we treat the guests.

I had a fantastic experience with my girlfriend for the second time in the gift shop. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pizza and rump steak, and the service was first class. Our waitress was very attentive and gave excellent recommendations. The owner is super friendly and very accommodating. The ambience was perfect for one relaxed evening. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

The food was okay, few meat-free options, but what was there was good. Unfortunately, the waiter made completely unpleasant and sexist comments and didn't understand until the end that we found this inappropriate. That's why I wouldn't go there anymore.

Unfortunately we were not satisfied, the starter - bruchetta - tasted bland, poorly seasoned, the bread was not toasted. We waited 35 minutes for the main course, which also had no taste. The 2 stars are for the friendly staff and the beautiful view.

Unfortunately we were just there and had something to drink. Nevertheless, the service was bomb, and very attentive and had great sayings. Like the best comes last, namely...🤔😎😉 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Our card (credit card) was not accepted - had to take a taxi to the ATM - had offered to show it in person, was not accepted, money may still be lost in the cellar/interior - despite the cash payment, the waitress had a very bad defiant reaction, no understanding, no apology - unfortunately not a nice experience - was there last time - but thank God there are many other nice restaurants on our island

Unfassbar schlecht !!!!! Ich habe ein Glas Chardonnay bestellt und eine ganz schlechte Qualität bekommen. Ich habe nach einmal probieren den Kellner sofort darauf hingewiesen, dass der Wein wie Essig schmeckt. Er bot mir daraufhin an, einen neuen Wein bestellen zu können. Das tat ich dann auch und bestellte einen teureren Wein für 9,00 das Glas. Wir haben dann auch noch zu Mittag gegessen und zu zweit über 90 EUR verkonsumiert. Das Essen war überhaupt nicht gut, wir mussten nachwürzen und haben uns nicht beschwert. Als die Rechnung kam, ist uns aufgefallen, dass der Chardonnay berechnet wurde. Auf Rückfrage, „erklärte“ uns der Kellner unhöflich, dass wir den Wein gefälligst zu bezahlen hätten. Er und seine Kollegen hätten ihn nach unserer Beschwerde probiert und nichts feststellen können. Wir haben dann brav bezahlt und nicht diskutiert. Jedoch werden wir diesen Laden sicherlich nicht noch einmal betreten. Schlechtes Essen und schlechten Service kennen wir von dieser Insel nicht und daher gehen wir zukünftig lieber woanders essen. Auswahl gibt es hier genug.

When we stopped for coffee he immediately made us feel welcome and the service was very nice. Unfortunately, our dog put this to the test by putting a cat on the terrace - because he had probably drunk too much salt water. Faster than we could see, she was there with cleaning supplies and a bucket and removed the stain. She said it happens more often because of the salt water. The woman is simply great!!!! Coffee, tea and espresso came quickly and it was a nice, entertaining morning. The tip was generous according to the service. We'll definitely come back. Thanks!

We were there with a group and I ordered a starter, calamari, then the very nice waitress arrived and said there wasn't a full portion but only a leftover, okay we took the rest, but when we paid, only 1.50 was deducted from the 17 euro dish, even when asked, it stayed that way. It's a shame and we certainly won't show up there again but they don't care.

As a mother alone with her child, only being ordered drinks and not being served after 45 minutes is quite unpleasant. Child is sad and still hungry after visit.

Delicious food in a very good location. The grill plate and the Lugano in particular are highly recommended.

Nice restaurant with a nice outdoor area on the Weststrand promenade on Norderney. Good selection of different food and drinks. The service was friendly and attentive. The prices are around the typical level for the island. While the food (potato soup with North Sea crabs, currywurst with fries) tasted good, the cappuccino - despite the portafilter machine available - was unfortunately only instant coffee, which didn't justify the price of €3.50. Unfortunately, no pizza could be offered during our visit because the pizza maker was sick. Quite nice for a short stop.

Very disrespectful waitress, but nice atmosphere. One soup was watery and the other was poorly seasoned. The staff is nice, but there is a very disrespectful waitress who has no interest in the well-being of her customers and treats customers in a disrespectful manner.

A very vicious waitress who kept interrupting me when I was ordering and I couldn't place my order. I left the restaurant hungry.

Die Lokalität ist sehr gut gelegen. Die Mitarbeiter freundlich und die Getränkeauswahl gut. Die Gerichte lecker und preislich okay. Das wirklich große Manko, die WC‘s sind unsauber, der Fußboden schmierig, Spinneweben an den Türecken und es riecht sehr unangenehm, die Lichtverhältnisse schlecht. Das ist leider nicht das erste Mal, dass ich das feststellen muss. Schade, daher Punktabzug

always happy 7 years ago. Unfortunately, the toilet facility is really unclean in this year 2024. Cobwebs on the doors, the floor is dirty and sticky and the lamps are broken. I'm really shocked that the owner doesn't value this anymore.

Waren heute in der Giftbude am Weststrand in herrlicher Lage direkt am Wasser Mittagessen.Der Service war super nett und freundlich.Hatten Fisch,der ganz frisch nach unserer Bestellung geliefert wurde.Dies teilte uns der Chef am Tisch mit.Da war eine kleine Wartezeit ok.Das Essen war richtig gut,Fisch auf den Punkt perfekt gebraten. Jederzeit wieder,Empfehlung!!!!

Poor selection of drinks, inadequate service & unfriendly, unaccommodating service. Although the restaurant is beautifully situated on the beach, this does not undo the rudeness of the service staff, who made one of our group walk to the ATM for almost twenty minutes because no card payment for less than €20 was "possible" (= desired). The fact that such a limit exists was not clearly communicated on a sign at the entrance/right in front of the entrance on a wall of the house & unfortunately it was not noticeable when entering from the left side of the stairs. Instead of accommodating the customer and showing goodwill, we were cheekily asked to get money and asked why we didn't have the amount "in our pockets". In the poison shop the name says it all.

In bad weather against a strong storm, we walked to the restaurant at around 3 p.m. Contrary to the information on the Internet, the kitchen was closed at that time. So back to the city with the wind at your back. No rating of food and service possible.

Well, one day at the beach we ordered take-away food on site. Very friendly welcome despite a very busy restaurant and the information that it could take 20 minutes. It didn't feel like it was that long before we enjoyed very tasty lasagne, spaghetti aioli and tuna pizza at home. Thank you

A very nice restaurant right by the sea. Staff is very friendly and very attentive. Food is very good and plentiful. We always come back when we are on the island.

We were served by 6-7 different waitresses. A bit confusing. They were also quite inflexible. Open wines and bottled wines differ. Trying a bottle of wine in advance was not possible. Starter could not be ordered separately in advance and was then later forgotten when the main courses were taken. When I wanted to order it 2 minutes later, this was unfortunately no longer possible and they referred me to dessert, which was later no longer offered. Since new guests were already waiting for a table, we had the feeling that they wanted to get rid of us. Great meat quality and preparation of the beef fillet. We had to ask for salt and pepper.

One of the service staff clearly took the name of the beach café too seriously. I have rarely met such an unfriendly, arrogant waitress. We just wanted to know if the kitchen was still open. Different times were given online than on site. I then unexpectedly received such a venomous response, including “batting my eyelashes,” about whether I wasn’t able to read the sign outside. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food. It's a shame, we won't be guests here anymore in this life.

Wir essen hier regelmäßig seit 3 Jahren. Ob drinnen oder draußen (wie zuletzt, mit Meerblick) - es ist immer wieder besonders. Die Reservierungen kann man nur für drinnen vereinbaren; aber die Chefin bekommt es ggf. mit einer kleinen Wartezeit äußerst geschmeidig hin, einen Platz auf der Terrasse zu organisieren. Die Bedienung (gutes Zeichen: wenig Fluktuation) ist durchweg freundlich und gastorientiert (wahrlich keine Selbstverständlichkeit). Das Essen: Super! 👍 Ganz besonders: Die leckere Vorspeise Rinder-Carpaccio. 😊 (Achtet bitte zudem auf das kreative Design … 😉) Vielen Dank, bis zum nächsten Mal! 😊

We have been eating here regularly for 3 years. Whether inside or outside (like last time, with a sea view) - it's always special. Reservations can only be made for indoors; but the boss can manage to organize a place on the terrace extremely smoothly, if necessary with a short waiting time. The service (a good sign: little fluctuation) is consistently friendly and guest-oriented (certainly not a given). The food: great! 👍 Most notably: The starter: beef carpaccio. 😋 Thank you very much, see you next time! 😊

The food was okay, but nothing more. The ambience is of course very nice, the sea view is something nice. The service was rather neutral, which is something positive. Unfortunately, the waitresses on Norderney tend to be unfriendly... must be something German...

Had dinner at the poison stall yesterday. Great service, very tasty food and great prices. We will be back definitely.

We were there for the second time today, on the first visit there was no problem with our Croozer in which our 9-month-old daughter was lying. Today she was supposed to be in a high chair because Croozer carts were supposedly not allowed. All the guests around us confirmed that this wasn't a problem, but the waitress insisted that the Croozer should go, even though it wasn't an obstacle. Well, child-friendly is something else and we left. Never this store again

Great location by the sea, but very hot under the glass roof on the outside terrace. Swarms of mosquitoes everywhere on the windows. We then just chose a coffee and ate somewhere else. A pity

We came here twice. The view is very nice. The food was good and the staff was friendly. We would come again if we should return to Norderney. Hopefully with nicer weather :-)
