Die Lokalität ist sehr gut gelegen. Die Mitarbeiter freundlich und die Getränkeauswahl gut. Die Gerichte lecker und preislich okay. Das wirklich große Manko, die WC‘s sind unsauber, der Fußboden schmierig, Spinneweben an den Türecken und es riecht sehr unangenehm, die Lichtverhältnisse schlecht. Das ist leider nicht das erste Mal, dass ich das feststellen muss. Schade, daher Punktabzug

Waren heute in der Giftbude am Weststrand in herrlicher Lage direkt am Wasser Mittagessen.Der Service war super nett und freundlich.Hatten Fisch,der ganz frisch nach unserer Bestellung geliefert wurde.Dies teilte uns der Chef am Tisch mit.Da war eine kleine Wartezeit ok.Das Essen war richtig gut,Fisch auf den Punkt perfekt gebraten. Jederzeit wieder,Empfehlung!!!!

Poor selection of drinks, inadequate service & unfriendly, unaccommodating service. Although the restaurant is beautifully situated on the beach, this does not undo the rudeness of the service staff, who made one of our group walk to the ATM for almost twenty minutes because no card payment for less than €20 was "possible" (= desired). The fact that such a limit exists was not clearly communicated on a sign at the entrance/right in front of the entrance on a wall of the house & unfortunately it was not noticeable when entering from the left side of the stairs. Instead of accommodating the customer and showing goodwill, we were cheekily asked to get money and asked why we didn't have the amount "in our pockets". In the poison shop the name says it all.

It was a very nice evening and everything was perfect. Thank you for the friendly, competent service and the delicious food.

Well, one day at the beach we ordered take-away food on site. Very friendly welcome despite a very busy restaurant and the information that it could take 20 minutes. It didn't feel like it was that long before we enjoyed very tasty lasagne, spaghetti aioli and tuna pizza at home. Thank you

A very nice restaurant right by the sea. Staff is very friendly and very attentive. Food is very good and plentiful. We always come back when we are on the island.

We were served by 6-7 different waitresses. A bit confusing. They were also quite inflexible. Open wines and bottled wines differ. Trying a bottle of wine in advance was not possible. Starter could not be ordered separately in advance and was then later forgotten when the main courses were taken. When I wanted to order it 2 minutes later, this was unfortunately no longer possible and they referred me to dessert, which was later no longer offered. Since new guests were already waiting for a table, we had the feeling that they wanted to get rid of us. Great meat quality and preparation of the beef fillet. We had to ask for salt and pepper.

One of the service staff clearly took the name of the beach café too seriously. I have rarely met such an unfriendly, arrogant waitress. We just wanted to know if the kitchen was still open. Different times were given online than on site. I then unexpectedly received such a venomous response, including “batting my eyelashes,” about whether I wasn’t able to read the sign outside. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food. It's a shame, we won't be guests here anymore in this life.

We have been eating here regularly for 3 years. Whether inside or outside (like last time, with a sea view) - it's always special. Reservations can only be made for indoors; but the boss can manage to organize a place on the terrace extremely smoothly, if necessary with a short waiting time. The service (a good sign: little fluctuation) is consistently friendly and guest-oriented (certainly not a given). The food: great! 👍 Most notably: The starter: beef carpaccio. 😋 Thank you very much, see you next time! 😊

Wir essen hier regelmäßig seit 3 Jahren. Ob drinnen oder draußen (wie zuletzt, mit Meerblick) - es ist immer wieder besonders. Die Reservierungen kann man nur für drinnen vereinbaren; aber die Chefin bekommt es ggf. mit einer kleinen Wartezeit äußerst geschmeidig hin, einen Platz auf der Terrasse zu organisieren. Die Bedienung (gutes Zeichen: wenig Fluktuation) ist durchweg freundlich und gastorientiert (wahrlich keine Selbstverständlichkeit). Das Essen: Super! 👍 Ganz besonders: Die leckere Vorspeise Rinder-Carpaccio. 😊 (Achtet bitte zudem auf das kreative Design … 😉) Vielen Dank, bis zum nächsten Mal! 😊

We were there for the second time today, on the first visit there was no problem with our Croozer in which our 9-month-old daughter was lying. Today she was supposed to be in a high chair because Croozer carts were supposedly not allowed. All the guests around us confirmed that this wasn't a problem, but the waitress insisted that the Croozer should go, even though it wasn't an obstacle. Well, child-friendly is something else and we left. Never this store again

Impersonal place. No ambience. You want to get out of here quickly. I left the Pilsner. It smelled musty and the glass was sticking. The view of the sea is great, but it's not worth it. We didn't order any food. The risk was too great for us. We will avoid the restaurant in the future.

We went here for dinner last week. The restaurant is in a prime location on the western beach of Norderney with a view of the sea. You should definitely make a reservation before you go there. The menu has a lot to offer and everyone should find something here. Because they are in a good location, the prices are slightly higher than in town, but this is not atypical. We both ate the plaice with shrimps and bacon. Can definitely be recommended. For €20.00 per dish there were plenty of crabs on the plaice and the dish was enough to fill us up. The staff was very friendly. We would be happy to come back on our next visit. See you soon

Wir waren hier vergangene Woche zum Abendessen. Das Lokal ist in bester Lage am Weststrand von Norderney mit blick aufs Meer. Man sollte auf jedenfall reservieren bevor man dort hingeht. Die Speisekarte hat einiges zu bieten und jeder sollte hier was finden. Dadurch das sie eine gute Lage haben sind die Preise leicht höher als im Ort, was aber nicht untypisch ist. Wir haben beide die Scholle mit Krabben und Speck gegessen. Kann man auf jedenfall empfehlen. Für 20,00€ pro Gericht waren ordentlich krabben auf der Scholle und das Gericht hat uns komplett gelangt um satt zu werden. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne beim nächsten Besuch wieder. Bis Bald

Unfortunately, we waited a very long time to be served. Twice we were told the colleague would be coming soon, here you have to be a regular customer to be accepted by the staff. The location is great but the service could still be worked on... We won't be going to the poison booth again.

We just wanted something to drink. Very full place. The external control system is totally overloaded. When we asked a waiter after 15 minutes who was serving us and we would like to order, he replied that he was not responsible and would let us know. After another 15 minutes we asked another waiter again, he took our order and after another 10 minutes our drink came. Not recommended for transit guests.

Unfortunately I cannot confirm the good reviews. When we placed our order, the lady was grumpy and snippy... But the boss's behavior was the last straw: I had ordered a baked potato with herring, but the herring was completely different from the ones I know. They were gray, had bones and the tail was still attached. When asked about this, the waitress reacted snidely and the boss who was called in said he had the best herring on the whole island!! And we shouldn't enter his restaurant again, so we're banned from the house. We had to pay immediately and leave the hospitable place immediately. That was a different kind of restaurant visit

Beautiful sea view from the terrace. The price is still okay, but of course you also pay for the view. Overall, nothing special, we didn't order any food, so there won't be a review here. It was bad weather, so the visit was a bit bleak, but the location can't help that.

We recommend. Cheap and tasty. Compared to the Snop Bunkers that you would like to do on Sylt, a pleasant addition. Great view, uncomplicated and very tasty. Especially the pizza was great.

First of all, I have to say that we have been going to this restaurant in a prime location on the west beach for 20 years on vacation and have always been satisfied. We ordered a fish plate and a plaice. Both dishes were served after about 5 minutes, which surprised me. What can I say - both dishes were subpar, the fish was completely overcooked and had a slightly musty taste. We communicated our displeasure to the service staff - unfortunately without any reaction. For this quality, you can only charge over €26 for a fish plate on Norderney. Update June 2024: Due to some good reviews, we wanted to try it again this holiday, as the location right on the water is simply extraordinary and we ordered 2 x Pizza Frutti di Mare (€17 each). Unfortunately, another complete failure; Except for the pizza dough (which was good), the toppings consisted almost exclusively of squid rings and a poorly made tomato sauce. Not a crab or langoustine. Since the boss is Italian, he should taste his pizza in person every now and then. We will (unfortunately) no longer be visiting the poison booth, which is a shame.

Wir kamen zeitgleich mit einem anderen Pärchen um 14.23 Uhr an und setzten uns parallel an zwei Tischen nebeneinander. Der Kellner ging zum Nachbartisch (14.25 Uhr) und nahm die Bestellung auf Getränke und Essen, ging in die Küche fragte ob es noch ginge, kam raus und sagte Essen klappte noch. Kam dann direkt zu uns und teilte uns mit dass wir kein Essen mehr bestellen könnten (14.27 Uhr). Auf den Hinweis, dass wir parallel mit dem Nachbartisch gekommen seien und es noch keine 14.30 Uhr sei, zuckte er nur mit den Schultern. Wir könnten ja was trinken. Wir sie bd aufgestanden und gegangen und haben unser Geld woanders gelassen. Ganz schlechter Service und absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Habe danach im Netz die Rezensionen gelesen…das Personal scheint sich grundsätzlich mit dem Servicegedanken schwer zu tun.

A great location right on the North Sea. Unfortunately, there is a female employee who takes her whims out on the guests. There were 7 of us there, a table became available and the employee at the entrance waved us through. The glasses from the previous guests hadn't been cleared away yet, which didn't bother us at all. Now the female employee in question came to the table and we were initially insulted because we had “simply” sat down (which is not true). We politely pointed out to them that this was not the case we would like a slightly friendlier tone. Then the terade continued, about working 12 days straight, stressful waiting times and so on Endless hysterical rant. Another employee then took over the service of our table, both of them very nice. At the next table we were told that the employee in question was just as impossible with you and that she no longer spoke to them (the guests). It's a shame, unprofessional and a misguided job... Nothing more can be said about it. 1 star for the nice employees, unfortunately the experience with the employee in question outweighs them.

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant started very disappointingly. The blonde waitress was very unfriendly and seemed annoyed. Her bad mood was clearly noticeable and made the stay unpleasant. It wasn't just us who noticed it; At least three other tables had also complained about her behavior (quote from other guests: "She doesn't talk to us anymore either.") Otherwise the rest was fine and the rest of the staff seemed to be trying hard. But the bad experience with the operation unfortunately severely affected the overall impression. The poison booth on Norderney It is a very nice typical island restaurant. The view and the location directly over the sea on the promenade. The sunset is also beautiful to watch here. I went there with my girlfriend to eat on a recommendation. Unfortunately I cannot share the recommendation. The steak cost €31 and the orange juice for 0.4l cost €7.20. When choosing the food, I had a few questions about the size of the menu and my friend had questions about the ingredients. The size of the steak was only mildly answered as "250g" and the herring was described as "without oil". When I ordered the steak I wasn't asked how done it should be and so I got a steak that was completely cooked through. Unfortunately the herring was bathed in oil and served in aluminum foil. The aluminum foil was difficult to remove and there was always the fear of eating some of it. It's a shame about the money, but the location was great!

For us it is always a “must do” on the island. Great ambience, often with a view of a beautiful sunset, friendly service and the food including wine is always delicious. A timely reservation is important but can be easily done by telephone. In short, the visit is always a highlight on Norderney.
