Coffee was bad and expensive (4.90 for a "cappuccino"), cake was okay but also expensive (6.90€ for a tiny piece of cheesecake).

Always friendly, relaxed, and welcoming staff! All the food is delicious, beautifully presented, and fresh! The ambiance and location are fantastic! No matter the season or time of day...always a feel-good atmosphere! The prices are reasonable for the great overall experience!

I'm only giving these two stars because of the delicious food; the super nice blonde waitress deserved five. But the older lady with short hair and glasses is incredibly unfriendly and has no sense of humor.

Since our food was also fantastic, we immediately made a reservation for the following evening – and we weren't disappointed! :-) Stylish and cozy location, great location. The price-performance ratio is not right. The food was okay (there was too much pepper on half the plate), but a Labskaus for €22 that doesn't fill you up is unacceptable.

One of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Excellent service, pleasant atmosphere, fair price. It's well worth it. However, not being German, I don't understand why restricting the Goulash only to the downstairs part of the restaurant. I wanted to try it, but it became impossible because this dish cannot be consumed if you choose to sit upstairs. Since it's all the same restaurant, I don't understand why create this barrier. Anyway... just a detail that doesn't detract from the excellent gastronomic experience.

Cozy café/restaurant by the canal

We were in Warnemünde on October 3rd and sat outside. It was very pleasant and cozy. The food came quickly and was delicious. Potatoes with two dips (sour cream and garlic – the garlic dip was soooo creamy). The waitress (Sarah) was wonderfully kind and accommodating, and the young man who briefly came to our table was also very friendly. The interior looked very pleasant. Speaking of pleasant, the lady at the entrance, who couldn't even say hello and just seemed unfriendly, wasn't so nice, as it spoiled the fun, but she probably didn't need it. In short, it was great, and you shouldn't let grumpy people spoil the fun.

It was delicious. We spontaneously stopped by Hafenliebe on a Sunday during our short trip. The prices are quite high, but the quality of the food is also very good. We had burgers and Königsberger Klopse (meatballs). We didn't need a reservation. All in all, it was perfect. We'd happily go back on vacation.

Both the drinks and the food were served fairly quickly. • Service (+++) Appetizer (+), Main Courses (+++), Dessert (++) • (-) Value for Money Appetizer • In conclusion, I can only say it was a good evening, with very good food. The roast beef with onions was excellent! The salmon and the Kaiserschmarrn were also excellent. Only the appetizer (chicken avocado) was a little underwhelming for the price of just under €15.

I wouldn't recommend Hafenliebe for food, but I would for a beer. The ambiance is cozy, spacious, and the service is friendly. The food selection is comfortable, with something for everyone in a group. The prices are a bit higher, which is fine given the good location and fresh preparation, but the portions are a bit on the small side. They don't need to do much, or simply switch to fine dining. The restaurant responded kindly to criticism, but that's where it's at. Due to tourism, it's well-frequented. The starters are generous, and especially in comparison, it's more worthwhile to order one of them. Good for a starter with a beer, overall everything's okay.

A beautifully situated restaurant and maritime bar on the Alter Strom. Above all, you can sit outside, sheltered from the wind, and enjoy the somewhat touristy but worthwhile harbor life of Warnemünde with delicious drinks (and plenty of good food). It's just as cozy inside, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and serve fairly quickly... It was a pleasure... Ahoy!

Not recommended. Brief explanation: Ordered a salmon burger, fries, and dip cost extra. In the end, it cost over €28 for a burger with overcooked, barely lukewarm salmon. The portion size isn't for hungry people. Small burger with standard Chefs Cullinar burger bun. The appetizer was called crispy bread...nothing crunchy. Two small (really small...more like a half slice of loaf) slices of whole-wheat bread...just warmed...with garlic mayonnaise and a handful of lettuce leaves that had been sitting in a rather tasteless dressing for too long and were more mush than crisp. Almost €8 for that...sorry...too much for far too little quality or quantity. Bottom line...the ambiance is unbeatable (but every restaurant there has that). Nice service, but the rest is just an illusion. A lot of money for nothing...a shame, others can do better.

Great food and lovely ambience can be recommended with a clear conscience

The restaurant makes a very good impression at first glance – a stylish ambience and a beautiful location. Unfortunately, our visit didn't confirm this positive first impression. We were only there for drinks. Even with just a few customers, the service staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, and some requests were ignored. Around 9:30 p.m., the waitress asked us if we'd like a last drink. Since our drinks were still half full, we declined. Just ten minutes later, however, we were rather rudely told to please finish our drinks, as the restaurant would be closing soon. Since I didn't want to down my large beer in one sitting, they started removing the seat cushions right at our table – while we were still sitting there. I found that very rude and unpleasant. In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't order anything else when they asked us for a last drink – because we wouldn't have been able to enjoy it in such a short time. It's a shame, because the location had the potential to be a much more pleasant experience.

Our Experience at Hafenliebe in Warnemünde During our vacation in Warnemünde, my husband and I spent a particularly lovely afternoon at Hafenliebe, right on the Alter Strom (Old River). The restaurant's maritime-modern style immediately appealed to us – stylishly furnished, yet cozy and inviting. My husband had the bratwurst with sauerkraut and was absolutely thrilled: The sausage was hearty, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside – the sauerkraut was pleasantly mild and not too sour, but perfectly balanced. I treated myself to a piece of the homemade sheet cake – fresh, light, with a hint of childhood memories. Just the thing for afternoon coffee. We also particularly loved the outdoor seating overlooking the water – it really gives you that vacation feeling. And what really stuck with us: The service was exceptionally warm, attentive, and naturally friendly. No fake smiles, just genuine interest and a good sense of the moment. For us, Hafenliebe was more than just a restaurant visit—it was one of those little vacation moments you take home with you. We would definitely come back.

The service is full of great ideas and suggestions, making your stay truly enjoyable. The outdoor area is cozy even in the rain, and in the modern interior, you could eat off the floor. I'm absolutely thrilled!

I have never met a more arrogant waiter.

The food was excellent, and the service from the team was also very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the overall positive impression was marred by the behavior of the manager. She reprimanded and downright humiliated her employees in front of the guests – behavior that was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. The team did a great job despite this unpleasant situation, but as a guest, you feel uncomfortable when employees are treated this way. It's a real shame – because the kitchen and service deserved a better working atmosphere.

A very nice restaurant located right on the old river. We initially wanted to have a drink outside, but then decided to have dinner here as well – definitely an excellent idea! The service is very attentive, the wine is refilled promptly, and they ask in a very friendly manner if there are any further requests. The restaurant offers plenty of seating both inside and outside and is very attractively decorated! Great ambiance, very modern – we 100% recommend Hafenliebe Travemünde!

Very expensive for little food. It's a shame to sell Caesar salad without meat (can be added for 4-7€) for 16 euros. Just got leaves with croutons and parmesan. If you order a burger you have to add fries for an extra euro. Way too expensive and feel like you're being ripped off🫤. The toilets are nice but stink like an outdoor toilet🤢

Update: Great service and delicious food again today. The Labskaus was perfect. We spontaneously stopped for lunch in this atmospheric restaurant. After a warm welcome, we were seated. The selection of dishes is perfectly arranged. There's also a children's menu (the chicken fricassee is world-class). Our meals were truly excellent, both in terms of appearance and taste.

We were in Warnemünde for a short trip and passed the restaurant "Hafenliebe" on our way to the lighthouse. We were impressed by both the exterior ambiance and the menu. On the way back, we decided to eat there. We got a table inside and were pleasantly surprised by the interior. It's beautifully decorated and has a cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger. I had a "Hugo Black," which I can definitely recommend! For main courses, we had Labskaus and Königsberger Klopse, both dishes that were very authentic and well-seasoned. For dessert, we had warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and cheesecake with strawberry sauce. We felt very well looked after the entire time. The waitress was very busy but still made time for us. Overall, it was a very nice evening, and if we didn't live so far away, this certainly wouldn't have been our last visit!

We were here during Watnemunde Week. The outdoor seating is well-sheltered. Blankets are provided. We opted for the cod, which comes with beetroot, mashed potatoes, and butter sauce. A bit pricey: €27.50. This dish isn't all that great. It does have a front-row seat to the harbor scene.

We were immediately chased away by a blonde woman with an accent because we were eating ice cream. We weren't even asked if we wanted to order anything, and she said, rather sarcastically, "...it's best to go back to where you bought it." Her words were a bit like "go where the pepper grows." We will definitely NOT eat or drink there next time.

I've rarely experienced such friendliness from the staff in recent times, anywhere. The decor is superb, the view is fantastic, and the food is consistently excellent.

Als Warnemünderin war ich schon oft als Gast im Hafenliebe -Restaurant. Was wir gestern( 14.6.25), als ich meine weit angereiste Familie zu einem netten Essen dort eingeladen hatte, erlebten, war grotesk. Das Lokal fast leer. Dennoch sehr freundliche Begrüßung und Bedienung durch liebenswürdige Kellnerin. Aber das Essen war eine Zumutung : statt kleiner, schmackhafter Canaria-Kartoffeln gab es dicke Salatkartoffeln. Dazu Sossen aus der Grosspackung-sicher nicht hausgemacht. Die Burger als Hauptgang waren matschig, das Fleisch / traniger Fisch mal so eben lauwarm, das Salatblatt wabblig. Die Gemüsebeilage ( extra zu zahlen) lieblos aus der TK-Tüte. Als wir diese Zumutung noch nicht ganz verzehrt hatten, kam der Juniorchef an den Tisch mit der Frage , ob wir ein Dessert möchten , da die Küche bald schliesse. Nachdem wir dies verneinten, wurden mit lautem Gepolter rings um unseren Tisch die Stühle auf die leeren Tische gestellt. Diese rüde Aufforderung hatten wir verstanden. Ich zahlte, bedachte die nette Kellnerin mit einem guten Trinkgeld .Die nicht beendeten Getränke liessen wir stehen. Das Lokal hätte nach noch eine Stunde geöffnet sein sollen. Ich beschwerte mich bei dem sehr gelangweilten Chef, den meine Argumente nicht im geringsten tangierten. Nie wieder! Und ich möchte auch Touristen , sowie Einheimischen dringend von einem Besuch dort abraten!

The food was very tasty and good. The prices are normal for Warnemünde 😉 The only thing I can't rate positively is the restaurant manager. She was very unpleasant and unfriendly. Meanwhile, the regular "service staff" performed excellently and were always friendly to the guests. Because of the restaurant manager, I'm only giving the ambiance 3 stars.

I'm disappointed 😞 I ordered the onion roast beef and perhaps should have been suspicious when the waiter didn't ask me how it was done. After 10 minutes, I got a braised dish with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. I hadn't heard of this dish before, so I asked the waiter about it. (I hoped the dish had perhaps been swapped.) He explained to me with complete conviction that this is an "original Hanseatic recipe." (I wonder which Hanseatic city. 🤔) If that's the case, this dish should at best be offered here as "according to style," since the original recipe comes from Swabia, a region free of Hanseatic cities, and, as far as I know, is always cut from roast beef. At least, that's how I learned it and was always served it throughout Germany and Austria. Unfortunately, I searched in vain for the onions on this "Zwiebelrostbraten" (onion roast), the sauerkraut (which I hadn't previously encountered as a side dish with this dish) was overcooked and bland, the sauce was just as bland as the cabbage and barely distinguished itself in flavor, and the mashed potatoes tasted like fresh mashed potatoes mixed with a ready-made product. My wife had Königsberger Klopse without capers, obviously a convenience product, with the same mashed potatoes. This came with a large beer (0.5l), a white wine spritzer (0.2l), and a Lillet White Berry for a total of €71. Conclusion: Far too expensive for this less-than-mediocre meal. The location, though, is great!

Disappointing... The Königsberger sausage made according to the "Original Hanseatic Recipe" tasted like a microwaved product. That would also explain why the food was ready in just 10 minutes...the capers were also missing. What a shame.

Wir waren 20 Leute und hatten für 17:30 Uhr einen Tisch reserviert. Sobald wir saßen, wurden wir sehr höflich durch die Bedienung (blonde Dame mit leichtem Akzent) nach den Getränken gefragt. Alle Bestellungen wurden schnell und höflich aufgenommen und auch an den Tisch gebracht. Alle waren geschmacklich zufrieden und positiv über das Ambiente überrascht. Von unserer Seite sehr zu empfehlen! Preislich etwas gehoben aber durchaus gerechtfertigt.
