The food is excellent, the staff is very attentive, but the really large dining area and terraces aren't enough. Unfortunately, the lack of a star is due to the outdoor area, which is also used in winter... Having the door constantly open is an imposition for guests inside during the cold season. As operators, you really need a solution.

At the entrance we were approached by a lady with an accent in such an arrogance and snippy manner, whose job it seemed was just to keep the guests away and scare them away. She aggressively told us not to stop in the aisle and to clear the aisle. I then asked about their role and tasks and asked to speak to the management. The lady was unable to give her name or call the management and struggled to find something else to do. This lady is pushing this restaurant to the sidelines, she seemed completely overwhelmed, hospitality is still the highest standard in gastronomy, politeness has no place here. No one sets foot in here anymore and sales are ensured. Please avoid.

We were here in March 2025 and had a wonderful meal here. Both dishes were excellent, the atmosphere was very nice with subtle music and the staff were very friendly, competent and always courteous with a nice smile on their faces. We can fully recommend the restaurant. As a very special tip: definitely try the Kaiserschmarren, for us it was definitely the best beyond the Alps and we have tried many over the years.

We went to Hafenliebe on Friday as a large group. What can I say? It was a fantastic evening. Excellent service, delicious food and drinks. Everything was also reasonably priced. The price-performance ratio is excellent. We went back on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for a few delicious hot drinks. There's also a lovely outdoor seating area with a view of the old river. We'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend Hafenliebe to everyone.

I'm giving it one star because you can't leave a star unassigned. The food was OK and the ambience too. However, the service is subpar. I was heavily pregnant with a toddler and ate here. The stroller had to be left at the entrance, even though there would have been a lot of space next to the table. So the child had to be woken up. In addition, you are treated rudely and instead of being helped with your child, the staff almost push you off the stairs with the words “you have to go through here now”.

Unfortunately, an absolutely child-unfriendly restaurant. We didn't have a good experience there. Please do not support.

Extremely beautiful location. Staff super nice and elegantly dressed. I think the price is okay for a place like this. However, the portions are very small. Which unfortunately brings the price/performance down a lot. Otherwise there was a lot of fat on the meat, on two different meat dishes. Of course it's a matter of taste. Not my thing. Beer was excellently chilled and came very quickly. As are the courts. However, one dish came out wrong. But that was fixed in a short time.

Food was good, service was good and overall the shop with the fireplace was very cozy. Compared to other restaurants in the area, the dishes were a few euros too expensive.

We were in the restaurant with five people, a dog and two strollers - and it was absolutely no problem! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were warmly welcomed and given a spacious seat. The service was attentive and child-friendly, so we felt completely at home. The food was also very good. We would love to come back and can only recommend the restaurant!

Unfortunately we were treated very rudely when we asked if we could come in with a stroller. The restaurant was almost empty and I think we could have easily taken our 3-month-old baby in with us in the stroller. We wouldn't have bothered anyone. Instead, we were offered a place that was obviously used to park scooters. A couple behind us who were there without a stroller were then asked if they were at least there without a stroller. This is not a family friendly place!

Very nice restaurant with great service. We sat outside on the beautiful terrace with a cup of tea and a cocktail and enjoyed the beautiful view of the Baltic Sea and the harbor.

Well located restaurant right on the quay. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the large guest room is very cozy, also because there is a fireplace. There are few fish dishes on the menu, but the cod fillet, briefly fried on the skin with coarse sea salt, was worth the money. In terms of price, compared to the surrounding restaurants, it's on the higher side. Still recommended for me. 4.5 stars!

Unfortunately the restaurant has lost the Mediterranean influence in the menu. The ambience and service are still great. BUT.. the prices are disproportionate to the food served. My main course was lukewarm, as was the side dish. The restaurant was 50% occupied. I was disappointed today!

We stopped by “Hafenliebe” somewhat by chance. Cold and looking for a way to warm up, we were pleasantly surprised to get a spot on Friday evening, even without a reservation. We were very impressed with the interior. Unfortunately it then became increasingly loud. Our ordered food arrived a short time after we ordered. Since just under 15 minutes had passed, the thought quickly occurred to me that a lot of things were no longer being cooked in the kitchen but were "just" warmed up and served. The use of convenience products was also very obvious. The taste was okay, well prepared, but still not a good price-performance ratio, especially too expensive considering the size of the portion. The drinks we ordered were also disappointing. The hot sea buckthorn nectar only came warm and very stretched and the non-alcoholic cocktail was more of a bland mix of the fruit juices listed on the menu without any decoration or garnish. Very unfortunate. Even though the reception was very welcoming and the service was very friendly, I would not eat in this restaurant again or recommend it to others. In my opinion, there is still a lot of room for improvement. The potential is definitely there.

The staff is so super friendly, the food is delicious, the ambience with the fireplace and the beautiful chillout music is like a warm hug. Since I live nearby now, I will happily come back.

We were there again, ate well and felt comfortable. If this is the norm at Hafenliebe anyway, then I would like to point out our special feature: four of us were guests at Hafenliebe with a stroller and a 2-month-old toddler. And we didn't "attack" the restaurant, but we asked beforehand whether it was even possible to accommodate the stroller. We were shown a table where the car wouldn't get in the way - and that worked without any problems. - We received very negative reviews from the restaurant about bringing several strollers in larger groups. My opinion on this: The customer/guest is basically always king, but he cannot force that because there is also freedom of contract - no one has the right to service if, for example, there is hardly enough space in the catering industry. So please ask beforehand and then please come to terms with the rather cramped conditions! Or forego the visit. Negative reviews are unfair if the cause lies in your own behavior! And it's not child-unfriendly if it doesn't work.

We spontaneously stopped for lunch in the atmospheric restaurant. After a warm welcome we were seated at the table. The selection of dishes is clear and perfect. A children's menu is also available (the chicken fricassee is world class) Our food was really very good in terms of appearance and taste.

A real favorite place on the Alter Strom! We've gotten into the habit of stopping at the little bar down by the river when we pass there. The small menu somehow always offers a suitable delicacy. But the cocktails are much nicer in summer, and mulled wine etc. in winter. Just like at the turn of the year last year... Above all, a big thank you needs to be said to the nice waitresses!

The atmosphere is super great and cozy. However, the service was extremely unfriendly. We were there with 10 people and 4 children. At the end they even asked aggressively when we wanted to leave. Even though we were only there for an hour. Unfortunately not recommended.

Our visit to this restaurant was deeply disappointing. The staff, especially the owner, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were shocked when the owner explicitly stated that children are not welcome in the restaurant, which created a hostile and unwelcoming atmosphere for our family. To make matters worse, our personal belongings were damaged by the staff (a complete tray of drinks was spilled over the pram), yet there was no apology or effort to address the issue or compensate for the damage. Such negligence and lack of accountability are unacceptable in any establishment. While the food was acceptable in taste, it was far from exceptional in quality and did not justify the unpleasant experience. Overall, this restaurant failed to meet basic standards of customer service and professionalism. We cannot recommend it and will certainly not return.

After walking past this "inconspicuous" restaurant several times, I decided to pay a visit last week. Once inside, I was immediately impressed by the cozy atmosphere. Everything inside me is red - the opposite of dead - sung by Silly 🤎 immediately came to mind. A young and friendly team enjoys doing their work. Thank you for the entertaining and pleasant conversation while walking. I'd love to come back!

Wir waren im November hier zum Essen. Es ist preislich sehr intensiv. Ich hatte einen Ceasar Salad mit extra Hähnchenflakes. Ich war eher enttäuscht. Der Salat (eisbergsalat, ein paar Tomaten und Croutons aus der Packung) ertrank in Dressing. Das Hähnchen war von der Qualität her nicht gut. Für den Preis hatte ich mehr erwartet. Würde ich nicht weiter empfehlen

Had lunch there today. We think the restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is nice. The food is okay, but when we took almost the last bite, we found a small piece of plastic about 1 cm long and 2 mm wide in the Königsberg. We pointed this out to service, but they didn't really respond. As mentioned above, the rest was okay.

We have been visiting Hafenliebe again and again in recent years! We've often had bad-tempered service staff. But this year, at the end of October, we were lucky! Got a seat outside at the warm mushroom, the table was clean, not sticky or anything like that. The prices are already high, but where isn't that? The quality of the food and drinks was good! The burger was very tasty 😋 and so was the rice pudding for a short time! We were very surprised! Staff friendly, we didn't immediately ask if we had any further requests, I flagged down a lady and was able to order the food. We were very satisfied and will come back!

I've been to the restaurant twice and was very impressed each time. The staff is very friendly and you are served quickly. I was there both times in the evening and didn't have a reservation, but luckily there was always a seat. I had the Königsberger Klopse with mashed potatoes and it was very good. I'd love to come back.

We went on vacation as a family to Warnemünde in October 2021 and wanted to have dinner in the outdoor seating area at the Hafenliebe by the cozy fire and end the day. We sat down at 7:45 p.m. and a waiter quickly brought us the menus and then our drinks. When we wanted to order food shortly after 7 p.m., we were always held back. 'I'm coming straight away, I'll be with you in a moment', more drinks came when called out. When the waiter finally came to us (9:05 p.m.) and we wanted to order food, he replied that the kitchen had closed at 9:00 p.m. After an indignant and factual complaint, we received a large salad plate with cheese and tomatoes from the refrigerator. We paid and left the restaurant with the poor service, never again. In October 2024 I went on vacation to Warnemünde again with my wife and we wanted to give this restaurant another chance by having a nightcap in the outdoor seating area by the cozy fire at 7:30 p.m. When we wanted to sit down, an employee came over and refused us a seat, rudely telling us to sit in the outdoor seating area with heaters. We replied that we would like to sit by the fire, whereupon she refused to let us and put out the fire. For us this restaurant died because of unfriendly service. This means that we cannot rate the ambience and the food, which other guests have rated as positive.

The food is just really good. You can enjoy the food you want quickly and hot and the staff is very friendly. We stopped in for dinner twice in 3 days. The atmosphere is cozy and fortunately there is a winter garden so that many guests can benefit from it. And dog friendly 🐾🐾

PART 1 On July 9th, 2024 my girlfriend and I went to the restaurant. We just ordered two cups of coffee and still water and stayed outside. I have to say I have always visited this restaurant, always liked the atmosphere and the food of course. I've been there a lot with my husband over the last year. We go there very often to eat and drink. He always likes to go there. We usually order two main courses with fish and meat, order drinks: as well as prosecco and wine and often dessert is added. You can easily calculate and estimate what the final sum will be. Normally we have a bill of 70 to 120 euros WITHOUT a tip, which we are always happy to pay… There is a woman who is always present there (unfortunately I don't know what position she has there). I saw her for many years and she was never friendly or nice... It never bothered me because I always communicate with the waiters, but until last night... The owners/managers/administrators greet guests the most because that's normal. That's how it should be. Here in the restaurant the cellars are very nice, but this lady is unfriendly, she stands there like a statue, absolutely speechless with no emotions, like a security guard... As I said, I don't know her position/status. She looks everywhere in every corner, from the first glance you feel something negative if you watch her for a long time. My husband and I, no one pays attention to us because we always speak to each other in German. (yes, I am a foreigner - I work and live in Rostock) Last night I was out with my girlfriend, who speaks Russian just like me, we both chatted like the other. BUT of course, we always try to be as quiet as possible so as not to irritate other people, because I think that's polite. After what happened, I thought for a long time what was wrong with this woman, why she was so angry and harsh with us: Just because we ordered coffee or because we DIDN'T speak in German?!!... So...back to the story, we paid and instead of immediately getting up and leaving, we chatted for a quick 7-10 minutes. That was so exciting, I wanted to tell my girlfriend something at the end... And then suddenly the unfriendly employee comes: Without hello, good evening... Start like this: "When are you both going to leave?" I didn't understand the question immediately. Especially since the restaurant was half empty and there was no one inside. There were more people sitting outside, but there were empty tables next to us. I would understand if it was full...But it wasn't. In that case I would simply walk away without discussing it. Then it continues, I say: - “yes, everything is fine, we were distracted for a moment, we’ll go straight away” and smile. She stands opposite me so evilly, with an arrogant look, as if we were some subhumans... He continues to say to us: “No, please get up now and leave the restaurant immediately, I understand Russian…” came at the end. What does this have to do with my native language, I asked? There was no answer. Even if she overheard our conversation, then she would have learned something about my life. (Part two can be found below) there is not enough space here.

Part 2 Oh God,... (I even find that disgusting, standing and listening to what it's about) But well, not all people are well behaved, not all have good manners. That was shocking because she actually stood next to us like she didn't believe we were going to leave now. Can anyone imagine that? Incredible. I'm at a loss for words, how can you treat people like that? Especially with the regular customers who regularly leave money there, all the employees, their wages, which YOU and I, all of us, leave there... They live off guests!... You can at least be friendly and speak politely. Or?... My friend asked: “Are you feeling as bad as I am now”? – “Yes,” I said, “because that was humiliating.” The mood and evening were ruined, the people sitting next to us naturally looked at us strangely, as if we were criminals. That’s exactly what you get at the end as a “Thank you for visiting”! This is really a good example where the wrong employee used simply destroys the business and ruins the reputation. Of course I have that, I already tell it at work and I will continue to tell it in my area... Rostock is a small town, the information goes on quickly here... Absolutely outrageous! Racist! I regret spending so many days there. I will never go there again. I do NOT recommend this restaurant! P.S.: I have been living in Germany since 2016 and I have never experienced anything like this. Absolutely outrageous! My German is not perfect, but I hope you will understand the text.

We experienced great service at this restaurant. Extreme efforts were made when making the reservation. From ordering to payment we were looked after very well and warmly. The food is really exceptionally good. The lady from the service tries her best, but is completely overwhelmed because she apparently has to cover the whole store alone. The atmosphere is very appealing and it is really super clean. The prices are probably in the upper segment. But it's completely worth it!

I went for a walk on the beach today and of course I was hungry. When I walked past the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its appearance. So I went in and was warmly welcomed. When I asked if I was allowed in with my dog, the answer was yes and I was taken to a table. The menu has a sufficient selection of dishes, not too much and not too little. After ordering, the food was served quite quickly, which was certainly because it wasn't that crowded today. The weather was very gray and rainy. The food was very tasty, both the fish and the dessert. You were asked if everything was okay. So they looked after their guests, which I found very nice (that's not common anymore). All in all I felt very comfortable and in good hands, the food was top and the atmosphere was very pleasant. If I'm in Warnemünde again, I'll definitely eat there again.

A really great restaurant with a nice feel-good atmosphere. A very big compliment goes to the Christian who served us. It's been a long time since I had such great service as this gentleman. Plus the very good dishes and drinks. All in all, a very good restaurant.

We wanted to eat there spontaneously, which was also possible. The food is really very good (a big shout out to the kitchen) but the service isn't necessarily great. We were there with our little one, after asking for the third time whether the restaurant could bring a child's chair, the waitress "woke up" and apologized with excuses as to why she hadn't managed it yet (even though we had already entered the restaurant with our child). , we ordered drinks with a child, we ordered food with a child, the food arrived with a child). Conclusion: If you don't have children, you're in good hands there, for everyone else we recommend moving on.

Wir haben nur einen kurzen Stopp ( Getränke ) im Restaurant Hafenliebe gemacht. Sehr hübsch und schick eingerichteter Innenraum , Aussengastronomie und direkt an der Promenade. Freundliche Bedienung. Wir bestellten einen Baileys Coffee und einen Pott Kaffee. Was mich dazu veranlasst nur drei Sterne zu geben. Der Baileys Caffee war lecker aber sorry, keine 9€ wert! Auch nicht irgendwie besonders aufgemacht oder so. Kein Keks dazu, nix. Ebenso der „Pott Kaffee“ für 4,70€ der im Grunde nur ein normaler Kaffeebecher war. Und klar, wir hätten das nicht bestellen müssen. Keine Frage. Wir waren aufgrund des Wetter durchgefroren und durchnässt und na ja, wollten einfach nur was warmes trinken. Großer Fehler. An der Ostsee ist es teuer geworden, das haben wir schon bemerkt und im Urlaub schauen wir nicht unbedingt auf den Euro. Aber das was wir bekommen haben, war völlig überteuert um nicht zu sagen unverschämt. Meine Meinung.

The HafenLiebe in Warnemünde is a great place for a pleasant nightcap. The atmosphere was really nice and the view of the harbor was simply fantastic. Unfortunately, as soon as we sat down, we were told that there was only the last round left, which dampened the mood a bit. Nevertheless, our visit was overall very pleasant, and the location itself is really great. A nice place to end the evening.

09/07/2024. Warnemünde is overcrowded. Nevertheless, the staff is confident from morning to night, regardless of whether there are small children, dogs or tourists blocking the way. Drinks and food come quickly and are very good. Okay, the prices, like almost everywhere, should not be underestimated 😕. Nevertheless, always happy 😊

Vegan option on the menu, very tasty! Nice staff and good service ⭐️

Food ok, service very nice but a bit slow. (Mind you when fully loaded). Unfortunately a bit too expensive.

Went there spontaneously for a Hugo. When Hugo came, I thought I had a visual impairment!!! Two fingers up, the contents, with 4 ice cubes!! And then asking for €11 is almost criminal!!! When we pointed this out to the waiter, he said he was just the waiter. In any case, we won't be going there again!!!!

Wir waren spontan Essen, haben vorher gefragt ob es okay ist mit einem Kinderwagen drinnen zu sitzen. Als ich auf der Treppe war mit dem Wagen, hat sich eine Kellnerin vorbei gedrängt und gemeint ich sollte Platz machen. Drinnen wurden wir abseits hingesetzt in einen grellen Roten Licht. Das Essen für die Kinder wurde schnell gebracht und war gut, genauso unser Essen. Unsere Getränke waren leer, wurden auch nicht mehr aufgefüllt. Beim Bezahlen mussten wir warten, die Kellnerin musste erzählen mit einem Kollegen. Ich fand es Recht teuer für 2 Burger, 3 Kinderessen und Getränke 80€
