Oogland - Das Restaurant der Sandburg

Wir haben an zwei verschiedenen Abenden das Menü gegessen und waren beide Male sehr zufrieden. Das Essen wurde heiß und zügig serviert und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service war freundlich und das Ambiente war ruhig.

Frozen plaice fillet, salad not fresh and without dressing, Couldn't even bring vinegar and oil. Atmosphere like in a canteen.

Disappointing... We came to the restaurant and there was a sign outside that said Matjes Brötchen from 2 p.m. As soon as you walk in you come into a kind of lobby. The employees walk back and forth here without speaking to us. Later someone came and took us to the place. There we were disappointed to find that the fish sandwich promised outside was not available. Nevertheless, the interior is very cozy and modern. I would also like to give the right restaurant another chance.

Selten so schlecht gegessen! Auch wenn man uns vorab auf eine „reduzierte“Karte hingewiesen hatte, war das „Angebot“, was sich letztlich auf der Karte fand, doch extremst reduziert! Dabei kam dann notgedrungen ein Abendessen zustande, wie wir es im „Restaurant“ definitiv noch nie gegessen haben. Da hätte jede einfache Pommesbude /Grillstube sicherlich Nesseres abgeliefert! Dazu passt die Werbung auf der Homepage sicherlich gar nicht! Tomatensuppe dünn, wie aus der Tüte, in kaltem Teller serviert! Am Nachbartisch wurde auch eben darauf hingewiesen, Antwort der Bedienung (nach Namensschild Restaurantleiterin !), man hätte hier unten keine Tellerwärmer!! Dazu mangels großer Auswahl gleichzeitig zwei „Stückchen“ Tortilla mit Aioli! Tortilla eher geschmacklos und pappig, die Aioli krass sauer und heftig „geknofelt“!! Andere Auswahl: Currywurst mit Pommes! Ein Teller mit zweierlei Wurststücken (Bratwurst / Knackwurst) in brauner „Curry-Sauce“, nicht richtig warm, zäh, die Pommes separat, wie aufgewärmt, nicht richtig kross! Insgesamt einfach unglaublich schlecht! Jede Grossküche km new das besser! Da tut einem das Personal wirklich leid, das so etwas servieren muß! Auf die Frage, ob es denn geschmeckt habe, war die ehrliche Antwort nur aufgrund unserer guten Erziehung: wir haben schon besser gegessen! Antwort der Chefin: das glaube ich gerne! Man ist dann einfach fassungslos! Also ein „gelungener Abend“ für ca. 40€, Wahnsinn!!

Complete catastrophe! Management should consider what strategy the restaurant will use. If the cook, among other things, If you can't even fry a schnitzel, the waiting time is unacceptable and the service is overwhelmed, reviews like this will increase. The price-performance ratio is completely inadequate and unreasonable for the guest. Anyone considering a visit should find out about the staffing situation in advance. Otherwise, every local restaurant is a better alternative.

Sehr gute gehobene Küche. Leckeres Essen. Klasse Service.Schöne Terrasse. Drinnen eher etwas nüchtern. Ist aber Geschmacksache.

Since the “Sandburg” opened, we have been enthusiastic guests at “Oogland” every year, and the food has always been sensational, with the best restaurant on the island with the most innovative menu. How disappointing that the concept changed this year (dishes on page 3, which are listed again as individual components on page 4, plus an unpleasant emphasis on “giant”, “XL”, “double” portions), the former Standard but has obviously also been reduced (the prices are still high, although no longer justified). While there used to be four small slices of bread and very good dip (truffle butter, etc.) as a greeting from the kitchen, there are now 6 slices with tomato pesto, herb quark and salted butter (all three wholesale market standard) as an expensive “bread basket”. In the “Hamburger Dreierlei” the beef patty was undercooked and the vegetarian patty was unimaginative (although great experiments are possible, especially with vegetarian burgers). Unfortunately, the solid-colored buns were not blessed with any taste of their own. The steak fries and the service, on the other hand, were very good. Unfortunately, the culinary unique selling point of the “Oogland” is gone; the concept is similar to that of the “Strandhalle” shortly before it closed. Let's hope that next year the concept and cuisine can return to the early years...

An absolute dream. We visited three restaurants, and Oogland was by far the best. Absolutely reasonable value for money. If we're ever back on Langeoog, we'll definitely go back.

Price-performance ratio for the food is not right.

I would love to give more than 5 stars… last week my husband and I got married on Langeoog and came to the Sandburg restaurant after the civil ceremony. First, we had a champagne reception on the terrace, followed by dinner. Where do I even begin… everything was perfect. Every single one of our wishes, no matter how unusual, was accommodated. For example, we wanted my best friend to sing, and they arranged for her to perform on the terrace. We wanted to arrange our own floral decorations, so the evening before, we were allowed to come by with a huge handcart and arrange 15 vases of flowers in the middle of the restaurant. We were allowed to store all our decorations in the restaurant, and the next day the staff set up both the downstairs area and the terrace, even taping the tablecloths down upstairs to prevent them from blowing away – now that's what I call dedication! The service was absolutely perfect, and I'd especially like to commend Claudia. My husband and I both worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, but service like this is a rare find. Claudia served us throughout the evening and also helped me and my maid of honor with all the decorations the night before. She is such a warm and welcoming person, and we felt completely at ease. Claudia even wrote my husband and me a little note with her best wishes, which touched us deeply. The food was fantastic, both our selection of appetizers and all the main courses. Offering various vegetarian options was no problem at all. We were even allowed to keep our wedding cake chilled and serve it at the restaurant. The rest of the service team was also consistently friendly. The excellent communication with the owner, Ms. Silver, beforehand was also worth mentioning. She offered several phone calls to answer any questions we might have, ensuring everything was perfect for us. We felt completely at ease and are so grateful for everything you did to make our day unforgettable. I highly recommend dining here after your wedding; it's our absolute top recommendation! We will definitely be back.

The restaurant wants to give the impression of an upscale class. The dishes on the menu are described accordingly and served with a certain style. Unfortunately, the menu advertises "huge" portions, although this is a blatant lie. The portions are small at best. For example, you can order 2 veal schnitzels from the menu. Instead we were served 1 single, rather small, schnitzel. When asked, the reason given is that you got a very large schnitzel and that's why there was only one. In this specific case, it was undoubtedly not a large schnitzel. The quality of the food is mediocre. The meat was sometimes tough and dry. If small portions are served at high prices, they should at least not be described as "huge" on the menu, but rather with a realistic description. The waiters are friendly. The ambience is nice. We liked the open kitchen. I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend a visit. There are better alternatives on the island.

Great, if not the best, restaurant on Langeoog. The concept of small plates for sharing and those with a light appetite is ingenious. The service is excellent. However, the room gets quite loud when it gets busy.

Excellent traditional cuisine with truly creative elements. Everything we ordered was delicious and made us want to return. The ambiance shines with Nordic restraint and was very appealing to us. The service was very good, but could have been a bit more attentive in some places, though that's criticism at a high level.

Delicious food at a reasonable price with friendly service.

Modern, reserved ambience, an unobtrusive, friendly and competent service and particularly delicious, fine dishes.

Das Sylvester-Menü 2022 ( incl. hervorragender Weinbegleitung) haben wir mit standing ovation beendet! ( ..und alle anderen Gäste haben sich mit ihrem Applaus angeschlossen...)! Ein Lob an Service, Ablauf, Küche ...... nicht zu vergessen : ein Lob an all die, die vorbereitet haben vom Dekorieren bis zur Menü und Getränkeauswahl!!! Da ich vegetarisch lebe, sind oft Speisekarten für mich nicht so interessant -- aber hier bin ich definitiv verwöhnt worden. Auch außerhalb dieses Festessens sind Restaurant und Bar empfehlenswert.

Super leckeres Essen. Wir waren zum Abendessen da. Es war eins unserer Highlights in unserem Urlaub. Alle Hauptgerichte und Desserts haben ohne Ausnahme geschmeckt. Das Restaurant hat eine offene Küche, was vor allem für die Kinder spannend war. Die Weinauswahl ist groß und gut zusammengestellt. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr spartanisch, daher hier ein Abzug. In Summe hatten wir einen tollen Abend.

Kann nur die Bar bewerten. Dort sehr große Auswahl, 50 Seiten Heft, auch Ostfriesen-Eisteesorten und diverse alkoholische Getränke. Bedienung freundlich mit manchen sprachlichen Unsicherheiten. Daher nicht verwirren lassen, wenn darauf verwiesen wird, die Dachterrasse sei geschlossen. Das heißt nur, dass keine Bedienung. Man kann trotzdem in der Bar was holen und das selbst nach oben tragen. Klappte letztlich alles super. Zugang zur Dachterrasse barrierefrei mit Aufzug, neben Bänken auch ein paar Strandkörbe da. Sicht von den Sitzplätzen aber nur zum Meer, der Bereich mit Stadtblick ist der Bereich für Hotelgäste . Zahlung mit Karte, auch virtuelle VISA-Debit im Smartphone, problemlos möglich. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung wert.

Das Oogland ist das Restaurant, welches zur Sandburg gehört. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen waren sehr lecker. Das Personal war auch immer aufmerksam. Fazit : alles gut!

Feines Essen ... der Fischfiletburger was sehr lecker 😋 (besonders das Brioche) ... ich persönlich hätte mir einen spannenden selbstgemachten Ketchup gewünscht (ich gestehe das ist meine Leidenschaft) ich komme gerne wieder 😊

Der Service ist sehr gut, alle sind sehr nett und überaus freundlich. Von den Speisen haben wir uns allerdings mehr erwartet. Es war nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht überragend. Es war nett angerichtet aber geschmacksneutral und der Fisch war leider totgegart.

Sehr gut in Küche und Service. Zur Bewertung ausgezeichnet fehlt noch etwas. Z.B. hatten wir gebeten zwischen den Gängen zu warten, ging jedoch alles sehr schnell.

Exzellenter Service, allerdings hält die Speisekarte leider nicht, was sie verspricht. 1,15 Minuten Wartezeiten auf das Essen. Das Burgerbrötchen angebrannt, trotz zweimaliger Nachfrage falsche Zutaten...für die Preise leider sehr enttäuschend.
