Restaurant Elitis in Kaiserslautern

The restaurant atmosphere is very nice. Food, very average. My wife ordered Schafskäse. It was a frozen product not made in house. Really nothing special. I had Bifteki that was not Bifteki. Bifteki is normally made of either Beef or Lamb. This was either pork or chicken and not very tasty served with some kind of red sauce also probably frozen and heated up. No Tzadziki. What, Bifteki without Tzadziki?? The food could use improvement. Price to Quality ratio poor, I'm afraid to confess.

The restaurant has a modern interior, but unfortunately lacks the Greek flair one would expect from Greece. No statues, no white, and no blue, but everything in dark brown tones. That's not a negative, just different from what I expected. The staff was super friendly. The chairs with wooden backrests are anything but comfortable. What I'm trying to say is, the chairs don't invite you to linger. The food was good and attractively presented.

Service was excellent. The lamb was cooked perfectly medium as requested and was very juicy and tender. All requests were perfectly met. Highly recommended.

I often go to Elitis, and just like always, I was absolutely thrilled today. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent, fresh, and flavorful. The drinks were also very good. Today I tried the black Hugo and can highly recommend it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and stylish; I especially love sitting on the beautiful terrace in this sunny weather. I'll be back, of course!

A reinterpretation of Greek! I was expecting the usual garlic and onion tzatziki "mash" and was truly proven wrong. Everything was very finely seasoned. Perhaps a touch lacking in roasted flavors on the meat. The meat could have used a bit more heat when grilling. Still cooked to a "medium" perfection. But that's complaining at a high level. The meat quality is really very, very good. I rarely get lamb of this quality – and I travel a lot. Service is very prompt, although they take a while to clear away after the meal... There's definitely room for improvement! All in all, a highly recommended place if you're not expecting "traditional" Greek. Not cheap, but good value for money!

Whether it's tzatziki, feta cheese, or fried zucchini: everything tastes like you're on vacation! But what really makes the visit special is Vasili. A host with heart and passion – friendly, attentive, and always in a good mood. You feel simply welcome, almost like family. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, the food is excellent, the prices are fair – what more could you want? A clear recommendation – we'll be happy to come back again and again!

The fig ice cream is a must have! The Lamb Plate is good and normally what I order. Most of the menu items are great. Only 1 I've tried and won't have again. The staff is small but they are wonderful and the service is good even when they get busy. Seating inside and outside, during summer I recommend outside as it can get warm inside. Overall, highly recommend and have dined here several times.

We came here with kids (hesitantly), and we were so pleasantly surprised by the response- there is a great kids menu, with free ice cream for the kids. Everyone was so kind, this meant a lot to us. As for the food and service overall- definitely 5 stars. We spent 5 weeks in Europe and this was one of our top 5 meals for sure- the gyro meat is fantastic in everything. We loved the gyro tiganaki. Gorgeous place with a really elegant ambiance- highly recommend.

Delicious food, attentive service, cozy atmosphere

The restaurant is certainly not one of the cheaper options. But you get a lot for your money. You can sit comfortably and receive very attentive and friendly service. A member of the staff regularly comes by to ask if everything is okay and if you'd like anything else. The food tastes excellent, and the portions are probably large enough for most people, but not excessive. All in all, a very nice restaurant and definitely worth recommending.

The galaktoboureko was very tasty. The fig ice cream is also very specific and delicious. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

The service and ambiance were perfect. I got a decent portion. I ordered the grilled pepperoni and gyro plates. The grilled pepperoni were the best I've ever eaten. The fries and pitas were also delicious. Unfortunately, the tzatziki and the gyro weren't really my taste. But otherwise, everything was great.

Best Greek I have had here in Kaiserslautern. Best Calamari I've had in K-town.

Delicious!! That's all you need to know. Their lamb (all three different cooking techniques) is incredible! Staff is great (they are Greek), the restaurant is nice....my favorite spot in K-Town!!

Joined my Friend David to celebrate his birthday over the weekend. It was my first time here and I’d happily go back ! The plums wrapped in bacon were to die for. I split the chicken plate - was delicious and perfectly cooked. We had great service - Billy was so friendly and attentive - every person of the wait staff was friendly and very handsome 😍 I’d happily go back here! The chocolate mousse they served at the end was SOOO GOOD!!!

Hmmm...was there for the first time. Tzatziki is fresh and good. Ordered gratinated gyros and mousaka. Everything came in about 10 minutes. The meat of the gyro was... totally dry and had been fried for a long time, as was the gratinated meat. The question is whether it was really freshly made. I can't imagine because of the time and taste. The price is pretty high for that. No side salad, just fries. It may be a matter of opinion, but I don't need it again.

From the starter to the dessert everything was perfect. Our favorites are the bifteki and the moussaka. The service is really very good. We haven't been served so well in a long time. The atmosphere is really nicely decorated and very cozy. A visit is definitely recommended.

We spontaneously looked for a restaurant and luckily found a spot here. The food was delicious, the meat absolutely perfect—not dry or tough. We've rarely eaten so well during our Greek vacation! I highly recommend it. It's certainly not one of the cheaper restaurants, but the price/performance ratio is good. We'll definitely come back. Our four-legged friend was also welcome. 😊

Wonderful food in a beautifully decorated restaurant (at least for me). The setting was very nice, and everything was attractively and exquisitely decorated. My only complaint was that it was a bit dark, but there was a lamp at each table that you could adjust accordingly. The service was attentive and very friendly. I would have preferred it if, for example, the restrooms were better signposted in the restaurant, so you didn't have to ask, but that's just a minor detail, and in my opinion, it doesn't deduct any points.

The best Greek restaurant I've ever visited! I ate at the restaurant and I'm still absolutely thrilled. For starters, I had grilled squid with salad – incredibly delicious! The squid was perfectly prepared, had a great texture, and was perfectly seared. The main course was lightly breaded squid with shrimp, and what can I say – the shrimp were absolutely amazing. So well seasoned that every bite was simply delicious. The food completely transported me to Greece. It truly tasted like you were sitting right by the sea. For me, this is the best Greek restaurant I've ever been to. I'll definitely be back!

One of the best restaurants in KL. Apparently also run by Greeks. Excellent flavor, beautifully presented, and obviously high quality. The ambiance is very nicely designed. It stands out positively from the "standard Greek" restaurant. However, the food is also more expensive. Furthermore, the menu only offers small drinks.

The restaurant is centrally located on Schillerplatz. The ambiance is modern and decorated in dark tones. The service is very friendly and, for the most part, attentive. The menu is extensive, so there's something for everyone. The food tastes excellent, and some of the portions are quite large. With the shrimp, it would have been nice to have a small plate for waste and a refreshing towel for cleaning your hands. The price-performance ratio is very good.

We were there for the first time yesterday. Beautifully renovated, friendly atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was truly excellent. Everything was grilled and seasoned to perfection, and the service was very good. The only drawback, but that's just the nature of the building, is that the restrooms are in the basement, inaccessible to people with disabilities. Reservations are essential; it was a great experience. We'd be happy to go again.

Nice restaurant with unimaginative food. I ordered salmon with potatoes. Then I found out potatoes today. Then I got a plate with a slice of grilled salmon, nothing else on the plate and a small bowl of tomato rice. Nothing else, no vegetables, no decoration, no sauce, just nothing else. Average taste. And all for 26 euros. Sorry, that's completely different. Once and never again.

Salted prices. Food OK - but the main course is rather small portions Dessert, on the other hand, is huge portions 🤷🏻‍♂️ Unfortunately the atmosphere is very loud and uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, there will be no photos, because we ate everything, very quickly. I just didn't have time to take a picture. Everything is incredibly delicious. The compliment from the bar reminded me of my grandmother's delicious tincture. She is hers did every year. Thank you for the pleasant memories and a very tasty dinner.

Food, service and ambience are excellent. However, it is very cool in the restaurant because there is always a draft from the front door when it is opened. Something should be done about it.

It was my first time at Elitis. Great ambience. Very friendly staff. The taste of the food was okay, but not outstanding. A small chicken skewer and a portion of French fries, plus a small bowl of Metaxa sauce for just under 24 euros. Salad would have cost another 4 euros extra. Probably by far the most expensive Greek restaurant in Kaiserslautern. I've never experienced leaving a Greek restaurant hungry...that's why only 3 stars.

We went there for dinner for the first time today. It was really a very tasty meal. No dead grilled meat like you often experience with Greeks. Side dishes with fantastic taste. Wasn't the last time to visit...

Arrived and waited for service. Waited. Waited. Still waiting. Burst his collar and march towards the counter. Grabbed the waitress and made it clear that we wanted a menu. The reaction was: Have you reserved? No! Suddenly she was gone. Waited! A man came, the one who was hit on. Menu... Come immediately!!! So back to the table and lo and behold, there he came with a menu. Then, I ordered gyros with rice. 21€. After a reasonable wait, the food arrived: plate with no decorations, lots of meat, sparingly seasoned. Bowl of tomato rice. Bowl of tzatziki. No lettuce leaf, no cucumber slices, no tomato pieces, but a lot of nothing! Taste, what is that? Conclusion: Dispensable! Price - performance: 👎

The food was just overall amazing and the server was very friendly. Every appetizer was incredible and the main dishes were really good too. My only issues are with the pasta dishes, but the problems with those are overshadowed by how good everything else was.

Great ambience, great food, not so fancy that it scares off walk-in customers who are just looking for a quick bite to eat, but definitely not the old-fashioned Greek place next door either, very classic with Acropolis wall wallpaper and 70s flair, like that was still considered “exotic”. Were there for the second time and we will come again!

The food itself is delicious and beautifully prepared, but far too little and too expensive for what you get! Charging €12 for a simple starter is really excessive. The drinks come in 0.2l bottles, but are still as expensive as 0.5l bottles in other restaurants. If you only eat out once a quarter or have plenty of money, this is a good place for you, but there are clearly better alternatives. Paying €35 and still leaving hungry is quite an announcement!

Honestly the most disappointing Greek dining experience I've ever had. Full disclaimer: I was invited for a company dinner, so I didn't pay, myself, but I will definitely not come back here for personal dinner. Let's start with the food. I've seen several reviews that claim this place serves _authentic_ Greek food, unlike most other places. Whoever thinks that has never had authentic Greek food, let alone been to Greece, which I have more than once. Anyway, I had the Christos platter with gyros, souvlaki and liver. The gyros was about a good handful. Taste was fine, but it arrived lukewarm, so it was completely cold within about five minutes. The souvlaki was extremely bland and not even a centimeter thick. The slice of liver was fine, but even thinner than the souvlaki. This came with a small bowl of tomato rice and a dollop of tzatziki. This cost 24€. And if I hadn't had garlic bread and garlic peppers as starters, I would have left still hungry. (For that matter, a coworker mentioned dining here a few weeks ago and receiving about twice as many garlic peppers, for the same price) Softdrinks are a mix of funny and just sad to look at. You get a 0.2 liter bottle of your ordered drink, and a 0.4 liter glass to drink it out of. As for the service, drink orders of more than say... 3 items took about 10-15 minutes to arrive, every time. One member of our group arrived a few minutes late and they weren't even asked about drinks until someone pointed it out to the waitress, after everyone else was served their drinks. Generally we were already joking that the staff is gone again so quickly, you can barely ask for anything. At the end when picking up the dishes, a waitress dropped a plate. This can absolutely happen and I'm not complaining about that, in the slightest. What did bother me, was that there wasn't even a short "sorry" for splattering tzatziki onto some of our jackets and bags when this happened. The final thing might be me acting entitled, and I know you can't expect anything for free nowadays, but this was literally the first Greek dining experience in my entire life, where I wasn't offered a complementary Ouzo. And I feel with a bill of over 400€, this really wouldn't have hurt their bottom line. For a restaurant that seemingly wants to appear slightly posh, I really expected much, much better.

Nice Restaurant with friendly staff and great atmosphere. Our waitress was trying to be polite but seemed to be stressed. Food was tasty and favorful. Prices are fair for the portions you are getting. It's definitely not a place I would try again. There are better restaurants in Kaiserslautern. Just my opinion, but try for yourself.

If you don't know any other Greeks, you'll apparently love it here. We were guests in KL. The portions are clear, no preheated plates, no salad, drinks only 0.2l bottles.

Well deserved 4.8!!! Great service, great food and the ambience is nice too. Everything was very tasty but the gyros was the best I ever had! If you are looking for great place to eat in K-Town, Elitis is a no brainier.
