Best Greek restaurant in the world 👍👍

Unfortunately, the food wasn't properly heated and therefore got cold quickly. The prices are quite high; €24.90 for a bifteki with fries and a little tzatziki is a bit too expensive. If you want some Metaxa sauce on the side, you're easily looking at €30. What the oil rim of every dish is for remains a mystery to me. We came here on a recommendation, but we won't be back.

The service was very friendly and always attentive. The food was delicious and served quickly. The prices are a bit high, but since you're in a vacation spot, you expect that.

A beautifully decorated restaurant, with many small details and a lovely courtyard. We immediately felt very comfortable. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. We didn't have a reservation, but this is definitely recommended during peak season. The food was delicious. 😋

We ate at the Greek restaurant by the lake because of the reviews and were a bit disappointed. For starters, we had the grilled feta (a decent portion size, but a lackluster flavor, €12.90) with the garlic bread (not very crispy, but rather a baguette with a bit of herb butter, €7.50). For the main course, we ordered a grilled platter for two people (it had a lot of meat on it, but the flavor was rather bland, and everything tasted the same and lukewarm, €52.90). Service was okay, fast, and friendly. Overall, we were disappointed and would have enjoyed much better. We won't be visiting the restaurant again.

Typical Greek service, simply good. The food didn't blow me away. I found it average. And for the price, you can expect considerably more.

We went to the Greek restaurant by the lake today without a reservation and got a table without any problems. The service was very friendly, the food wasn't bad, but unfortunately the lamb was very tough, the gyro was very marbled and fatty, and I also found some fatty meat among my fried mushrooms, where did that come from, since I was eating chicken. Otherwise, the atmosphere, whether inside or outside, was very cozy.

We arrived at 5 p.m. to reserve a table for 6 p.m. Unfortunately, a reservation wasn't possible. By 6 p.m., the restaurant was already very full. The meal took 1.5 hours, and the gyro unfortunately wasn't very crispy, and they skimped on the tzatziki.

Truly the best Greek restaurant we've visited in a long time. Warm and attentive hosts with high-quality Greek cuisine. Highly recommended.

We went to the Greek restaurant by the lake and were absolutely thrilled! A really cute restaurant with a beautiful courtyard right by the lake – despite the heat, it was pleasantly cool and shady. The staff was extremely warm and attentive, the service overall was excellent, and they were also great with children. I would particularly like to emphasize the cleanliness – even the restrooms were immaculately maintained. The value for money is absolutely spotless, the portions are generous, and the taste is really good. No wonder it filled up quickly – so a reservation is definitely worth it. All in all: A real insider tip! With a shot on the house, it would have even been the best Greek restaurant all the way to Berlin 😉 – but even so, we would definitely love to come back!

Already with the appetizer, the grilled pepperoni, a suspicion arose... Our new favorite Greek restaurant was in sight. The main course confirmed this suspicion impressively and convincingly. Too bad for us, we're from Erfurt. 🤷🏻‍♂️😆 The grilled pepperoni was a dream. Perfectly cooked, without any burnt marks, like so often elsewhere. You can tell they don't skimp on the oil here. Not because of the quantity, but because of the quality. Then the main course, the grill plate for two. More than enough, and every piece of meat and every skewer so tender and cooked, grilled, and fried to perfection. Truly top-notch. The fries and garlic potatoes were also top-notch. Hey man... today I finally realized how amazing tzatziki can taste! And what was the best part? The cloud of waitresses and waiters... friendly, attentive, and quick as lightning. Anyone on vacation in Malchow and the surrounding area has to go there. Tip... Book a table...

The food was very good, at least the bifteki and szvlaki. The gryros was OK. The portions are very large. The service deserves a deduction. At first, we were offered a seat right next to the kitchen. The smell was very unpleasant, so we asked for another table. We had to ask several times, and then we were offered a smaller table. We would have preferred a larger table, but we weren't offered one. I had to have the knife replaced. It was dirty. That shouldn't happen. This was the first Greek restaurant where we weren't offered ouzo. OK because of the good food, but only 3 stars because of the service.

You are only allowed to sit in the courtyard on the beach which is only for hotel guests.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. The way the staff treats customers is terrible. It's rude and intimidating. We also didn't get our main course until an hour and 45 minutes later. When we commented on it, the gentleman became irritated and blamed us, the customers, for not taking into account the "unique and special" way this restaurant operates. Well... Even now, a year and a half later and dozens of restaurants later, this remains the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I still haven't forgotten it.

The service is warm and attentive, and the location right on the lake makes the visit a special experience. I've been here several times and always enjoy eating there – absolutely recommended!

Very friendly staff, a beautiful courtyard for outdoor seating, and a subtle interior. Unlike many Greek restaurants, you won't be overwhelmed by the amount of meat here. However, my grilled plate could have been a bit more lamb. Everything tasted excellent. My wife had a grilled chicken breast fillet. The meat was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. To finish, we had the customary ouzo. I don't know if it was for the "good friends," but it's always a nice gesture. Yamas!

For me, it's still the best Greek restaurant in McDonald's. The staff, however, could be better trained. Certainly in German. We had reserved a table for 6 p.m. on a Friday at 4:30 p.m., in person. When we arrived, it wasn't listed. This shouldn't happen. Otherwise, thumbs up. 👍🏻

The Greek Restaurant by the Lake is a highly recommended restaurant. Everything is just right: the personalized service, the exceptionally good Greek cuisine, the prices, and the wonderful decor. An absolute disaster: A completely disorganized establishment, and completely unfriendly to boot. You wait forever for the table, then forever for the food, and then the food is bad, too. DO NOT GO HERE.

What an experience, great location and great food

Hmm, since I worked in a Greek taverna for 11 years myself, I might take a closer look. I was actually a bit disappointed. We had tried to call and make a reservation the day before. There was a friendly recorded message saying that they only accept reservations for groups of 8 or more, but that they would be happy for a walk-in. There were four of us there shortly before 6 p.m., and there was already a long queue. We waited patiently in the rain until we were finally at the front. We were then ignored for a while, not a smile or a friendly word; I know Greek hospitality very differently. But hey, we overlooked it. After waiting for about 25-35 minutes, we got a table. I ordered a homemade lemonade, which unfortunately wasn't tasty at all :( , what a shame, but it did look appealing. My starter (baked zucchini with tzatziki) was beautifully presented and a good portion size for a starter. Unfortunately, it had no seasoning other than a little garlic oil on the top slices, so it tasted very bland. After that, there was a small salad that came with the dish. Unfortunately, it was also really boring, with no flair and very unloving. The taste was rather bland too. They were served at the table in different bowls, which didn't look that great, and mine was completely burnt around the edges, which didn't look that great either. For my main course, I had gyros with fries and tzatziki. The side dishes are served separately; you can do that, but I didn't think it was necessary for gyros; there would have been enough room on the plate. It came with a small dollop of tzatziki. The gyros was cold, so I sent it back and came again a while later. Unfortunately, the others had almost finished eating and my fries were already cold in the bowl. The gyro tasted decent but not outstanding. My husband had a mixed platter for one person; the portion was absolutely generous and sufficient. The two young waiters were very attentive and friendly, and I left a good tip for that. If it hadn't been for them, I really wouldn't have tipped at all. The boss and boss's wife were unfortunately not in the best mood you'd expect from Greek hospitality, but of course not every day is the same for everyone. It was okay to have been there once, but I don't necessarily need to go again. All in all, it's doable, but it won't blow you away. The food took an incredibly long time in some places. For us, it was still acceptable, but it was still a long time. The table next to us waited about 50 minutes for the main course after the starter.

We ate here with our children and our dog. First of all, I'd like to say that it's a shame that there's no way to reserve a table in advance. Additionally, although we had indicated that we wanted to eat with our dog, when our table was finally announced to be free and the waiter saw the dog, we were frantically shooed out with the words "Dogs not allowed inside." So, we had to wait again for a seat in the courtyard. The food was delicious. However, when it came time to pay, we suddenly had several items on our bill that we hadn't ordered. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he stammered a bit and returned after about five minutes with a "corrected" bill. My conclusion is that we were lucky in our misfortune regarding the table, as the courtyard was more comfortable than the dining room anyway. The food was delicious, but the service could be improved.

I like Greek food and have rarely been disappointed. But here it started at the entrance. Since no reservations were taken, the four of us had to wait at least 15 minutes until we were assigned a table. Pure pleasure in the rain. 😕 After we finally got the table, the drama continued. After ordering, the drinks arrived relatively quickly, but the beer was unfortunately lukewarm. On the other hand, my companion's gyro was as cold as I would have liked my beer to be. The starter came relatively quickly, but was no highlight. The salad seemed to have been carelessly thrown together from a bag, lacking the love for salad that one expects from other Greek restaurants. No olives, no feta, really nothing. And the portions were very small. Which brings us to the main course. We had to wait almost an hour for our lukewarm dishes. As already mentioned, the cold gyro was the highlight. Here, too, there was no correlation between the very high price and the service received. Disappointing. 😔 And in my opinion, the friendliness of the service could have been improved (empty beer glasses were often overlooked), but that was probably due to the fact that guests were waiting outside, creating pressure. The ouzo didn't arrive after the meal, but in the middle of it. It was like being kicked out in installments... 🙈 In short, I can't recommend the restaurant and I wouldn't visit it again. A waste of money.

Finally, a Greek restaurant with delicious vegetarian food (the selection wasn't extensive, but the food was delicious). The service was excellent! We cheekily arrived without a reservation, and they even pulled out all the stops to get us our desired seat outside in the fresh air!

Really good and authentic food.. Remember to order side dishes. Otherwise it might be a bit dry. 😊 The service was very nice but a bit confused and unfortunately they often forgot your extra orders. But all in all a good and trustworthy experience.

We ate here six days ago with five people. We were able to reserve a table the evening before. All the staff welcomed us very warmly and took our orders quickly. It didn't take long for us to get our food. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. We were very satisfied and would happily recommend the restaurant. We would like to thank everyone in the kitchen and in the service who did such a great job. We would be happy to come back.

Were disappointed 😞. Card payment from 60€. We had a table for 2, which was put together as a table for 4 in a niche. The service immediately asked whether we wanted cash or card payment. After 20 minutes, drinks were taken. Our main courses were missing side dishes. The service said they would be coming straight away. When the manager asked at the table if everything was OK, we said yes. Until then, we didn't know that the side dishes hadn't arrived. The service understands and speaks poor German. Ouzo? Only offered when we left the restaurant. The manager apologized to us as we left and gave us 10 euros because the side dishes were missing. Oh well. All in all, we've been there once, but there are better restaurants in the area. The food tasted good though. A bit more expensive.

We went to the "Griechen am See" in Malchow for the first time on Friday evening with three people. The restaurant was full, and we weren't overlooked; instead, we were immediately offered an alternative seat. The service was very attentive, and we were treated with kindness. The meals were delicious and freshly cooked. The best Greek restaurant I've ever been to. The ambiance is very tasteful. We'd love to come back. See you soon. ...

Important: Card payments only accepted for orders over €60! The ambiance is really nice, even though I couldn't sit in the courtyard due to the changeable weather. Prices are quite high in my opinion. The portion of gyro was quite large, but they cut back on the tzatziki. I had the impression that gyro was cooked in a pan, which I personally don't like. I found the service overzealous. I would have preferred a few fewer glances at my plate. All things considered, this is an average Greek restaurant in my opinion. Unfortunately, these are very rare in this area.

Definitely worth a visit. Super nice, friendly service. Great location in the courtyard for good weather. The restaurant is also very attractive. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean, and everything is just perfect. Great food. My husband had gyros with bifteki, and I had an island platter for one person. A side of garlic potatoes and fries. Everything was very well seasoned, fresh, and generously portioned, except for the tzatziki, which could have been a bit larger for the rest of the portion. But we had already ordered that as an extra in advance. The price/performance ratio is completely acceptable; there's nothing to complain about. The final Italian cappuccino, which was hot and had very good, thick milk foam, is highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back and highly recommend you.

I'm not a fan of Greek restaurants because the food is never as delicious as it is in Greece. The Metaxa sauce alone always tastes awful... NOT HERE! A delight! We went there spontaneously, without a reservation, two of us with a toddler on a Tuesday around 6 p.m. We didn't have to wait. The team was super friendly and the food was truly amazing. The prices aren't at the level of a takeaway restaurant, but when it tastes as good as it does, it's totally fine. Two main courses (including lamb fillet), two drinks, and a kids' meal came to €75. If we can get a table again during our vacation, we'll be back.

Excellent food and super friendly staff

The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Drinks always arrive very quickly and there is always someone from the service staff nearby if something needs to be done. The only downside is the organization in the kitchen as things seem to be a bit chaotic there. This is the second time we have had to wait between 45 and 60 minutes for a starter. Meanwhile, guests who arrived later, at several tables, already had their food. The same problem occurred at the next table and that was some time later. He was given the main course and when he was almost finished the woman got her starter plate. What a shame. The food is delicious but we will leave out the starter in future.

We had a delicious meal and received friendly service, although some of the staff were a bit difficult to communicate with. During our visit, we were in a room with a total of 4!!! dogs, one of which barked incessantly. That's unacceptable. Hence the deduction for the ambience.
