Been there twice within a very short period of time. Super delicious food. Lots of good cocktails. Top service. The owner couple are always there themselves and are restaurateurs through and through. Everything was great...I would highly recommend it and we will come back too. Thank you for the service and the great food. Update:08/24/24 After a small mishap, there was very tasty food again. This time we had beef fillet. I can only recommend it again and again and have probably been here 5 or 6 times (despite the distance)

For me, being back in Mainz means going to Santiago! Very nice interior with great murals, nice street café outside. If you treat yourself to a cocktail at the opening, they are all highly recommended. When it comes to food, let your preferences play, so far everything here has been very tasty, especially the Cuban dishes. But the steaks are also second to none. As a dessert, the fried ice cream is a poem! I'm in tears now because I won't be back in Mainz for another 5 months. But then again, definitely here. Hasta pronto amigos

Went there again recently for a European Championship game. Surprisingly, there wasn't much going on. Otherwise I only know the place as full of people. Probably because Germany had just been kicked out. 2 Cuba libre and 2 different daiquiris and as always 1a. Damn delicious. We are also happy to use better rums upon request. They used to have more selection, but it was still great. Was a great evening with my buddy.

Were there for the first time and it definitely won't be the last time. The owner couple is so warm, the quality of the food is high and the price/performance ratio is also great. The rump steak was on point and very tender, the cocktails were very tasty, everything was perfect!

The location is nicely decorated and is somewhat reminiscent of event gastronomy. After a very sobering starter (carelessly prepared and average nachos), the main course was fortunately convincing. The rump steak was very tender and you could taste pleasant roasted aromas. The vegetables were fresh and the sauce was tasty. Only the salad dressing was a bit too creamy. When asked, the margarita, which was too sweet, was kindly corrected directly by the service team. However, it should be noted that card payments are only possible to a very limited extent.

Unfortunately, the food tasted rather bad, was very dry, and 30m after we came in, music was turned on that was way too loud, which was also pretty bad, and was very annoying.

The tables are very close together, at least in the upper back area. We found it unpleasantly loud and a maximum distance of 50cm from the next table meant there was a lack of privacy. My wife had a burrito that was good. I had the souffle con carne. The taste was really excellent. However, I found the portion size to be silly for this price. The relationship is simply not right. Payment by card is temporarily not possible. Information about this was only available during the payment process. There was no sign on the door, but it would have been helpful. Especially since this situation had probably lasted a little longer. I was then allowed to run to the nearest machine in the pouring rain. A first visit that was unfortunate.

The food is good, but not necessarily Latino (e.g. the starter platter with olives and garlic baguette). Plus point for the ambience and the delicious cocktails.

We had reserved for 8 p.m. and were there at 7:50 p.m. Unfortunately, the tables were very, very narrow, so it was difficult to get through. Sat at a table in the corner. All the tables directly around us were occupied after us but everyone was served before us. Several rounds of drinks, some even starters and we're still on dry land. Unfortunately, we were ignored even after half an hour, so we left.

Found this restaurant by accident but what find, nice atmosphere, food was excellent value for money and good quality.

Ambiance: The tables are very close together and it was full. A reservation was urgently necessary. It is relatively loud and warm. (It's probably more pleasant in summer if you can sit outside). The service is friendly. Unfortunately the banana cocktail wasn't that good (it tasted very artificial) but the beer was okay :D The food was very, very good. Gladly again.

I've been going there for years and the food is always great. All quite ok. A smile on the lips of some of the waitresses would be desirable.

I dined here with colleagues and therefore didn't choose the restaurant myself. Unfortunately, there are few vegetarian options and no vegan main courses at all (it's also difficult to convert any of the vegetarian dishes to vegan). So I ordered two starters; a portion of olives and potato wedges with a small side salad. The latter only consisted of chopped iceberg lettuce and a slice each of tomato and cucumber and was served to me very wet and without any dressing. However, the potato wedges were quite tasty. There is a wide selection of drinks and cocktails (also non-alcoholic). The service was very friendly and attentive. I probably won't come back for food, but I wouldn't say no to a cocktail because of the large selection and the cozy atmosphere.

I'm actually a really uncritical person, but my experience here was bad. The food (No. 102) tasted very bland, without any nuance or special aroma. For the price of €16 I expect something different. Also, the boss was quite patronizing. After a new waitress took our order regularly (2nd day), we had to place it with him again because "she's new here and just takes too long." (And all that in the presence of the friendly waitress). In the end, one dish was forgotten anyway (or because of that??). Unfortunately unsympathetic. After all, the cocktail was very tasty!

We had three different dishes, all of which were ready at the same time and quickly despite the seats being full. The The filet was grilled perfectly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the music is also pleasant. Only the noise level is quite high. Price-performance ratio is great. We'd love to come back.

Alles bestens. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Super leckeres Essen und netter Service. Das Rindfleisch war mega. Auch alle anderen waren sehr zufrieden. Daumen hoch.

Sollte man zu einer großen Reservierung gehören auf keinen Fall früher oder als erstes kommen, man wird bedrängt ob auch alle kommen da der Betreiber ja Verlust machen könnte. War 15 Minuten vor Reservierung da um freundlich nachzufragen ob der Tisch schon frei ist, das mache ich nie wieder. Er schicke ja die ganze Zeit Leute weg. Von Anfang bis Ende war es bei uns sehr bescheiden, der Chef war genervt, wir auch alle aufgrund des unfreundlichen Umgangs. Diesen Laden werde ich nie wieder betreten, besser für meine Nerven und die des Chefs.

Seit Jahren mal wieder in der Nähe gewesen und unbedingt her gewollt. Das Steak war genau wie bestellt, alles kam schnell und heiß. Sehr lecker! Großartiges Ambiente, sympathisch und freundliche Bedienung. Genau das, was man erwartet. ♥️

Had a great 300gr Rumpsteak! Very delicious, cooked Medium on point! Nice cosy place. Think the sides where a bit overpriced but still nice and tasty. Fresh salad with the steak was nice. Don't confuse it with the steak house next door.

Wie immer waren wir sehr zufrieden. Super Essen bei einem typisch kubanischen Ambiente und nettem Service. Auch meine Allergien sind hier kein Problem, da man die Gerichte entsprechend anpasst.

Das Essen sowie das Personal waren erste klasse. Das Miteinander ist sehr familiär und auch englisch sprechende Kunden hatten kein Problem.

Leckeres Essen, tolle Cocktails, leider immer noch keine Kartenzahlung möglich ... Rechnung von 250 Euro für 4 Personen musste wieder bar bezahlt werden ...

Wir hatten von Bekannten schon vom Santiago gehört und wollten es nun selber ausprobieren. Uns hatves wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Hier hat alles gestimmt. Leckere Cocktails, super leckeres Essen und nette Bedienung. Wir konnten auf alle Fälle wieder.

Ich war erstaunt über das super schmackhafte Essen.

Sehr gutes Essen im Außenbereich in einer ruhigen Ecke von Mainz. Nur 3 Sterne, da es ein Missverständnis mit dem Dessert gab und wir danach von Personal ignoriert wurden. Sowas geht leider gar nicht...

Hier sind wir an unserem HZT spontan gelandet. Haben einen schönen Tisch bekommen. Service sehr freundlich und das Essen super gut 👍 Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Nettes und liebevoll gestaltetes Ambiente, Betreiber sind immer super freundlich und gut gelaunt. Essen und Cocktails auch lecker mit relativ großer Auswahl, lediglich die Salatsoße ist nicht gut und viel zu sahnig.
