Trotz Umbau des Restaurants und plötzlichen Starkregens auf der Terrasse an diesem Abend war das gesamte Team zu jeder Zeit sehr zuvorkommend, hochprofessionell und sehr herzlich. Wir fühlen uns immer sehr wohl und das Essen ist phänomenal.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency, and always look forward to the buffet breakfast here. Due to renovations, we were offered the choice to sit outside on the terrace... and it was beautiful. May I take the opportunity to commend the staff here. Friendly, attentive, and smiles all over. I really enjoyed my breakfast thanks to them. We were in a larger group for dinner at Bellpepper on Saturday evening (August 2nd) because of the positive reviews. We were warmly welcomed and seated on the terrace where we were able to enjoy the view of the Rhine. While most of the group ordered a la carte, I opted for the Chef's Choice menu, which I ultimately regretted. The dishes were all not unappetizing, but a bit roughly prepared. In particular, the starter and main course (“Watermelon Tataki” and “Glazed Lemon Maple Syrup Salmon”) were unfortunately not convincing in terms of taste. Unfortunately, there was no taste antagonist to the spiciness of the starter's cucumber kimchi. The dish lacked balance and I unfortunately missed the punch that the spiciness brought with it in the rest of the aroma. The components appeared to be randomly combined rather than meaningfully connected and neither a balance nor an interesting contrast was achieved. The rice paper chips, which were probably intended to add a different texture (“crunch”), stuck mainly to the palate. The salmon in the main course was cooked perfectly, but didn't really want to combine with the rest. Some of the fennel seemed very fibrous and woody and brought back memories of green asparagus. The individual components lacked intensity and finesse. Overall - at least in the menu - there was a feeling that the dishes had not been cooked down to taste and that the appearance (even if there was also room for improvement) received more attention than the taste. The products were of high quality and there was no lack of skill in the craftsmanship, which made it all the more disappointing that the taste experience didn't do justice to it and awoke associations such as "loveless" and "boring". The service was very friendly, but very inattentive after the starters were served. Requests for new drinks were not asked, empty plates and glasses were not cleared away for a long time. Maybe it was because the sun had set in the meantime? It was so dark that we almost couldn't see our main courses. That also significantly spoiled the enjoyment. The solo entertainer, who provided musical accompaniment to the evening, rounded off the picture. In some songs he sang so convincingly that it took a while before we could identify the music as live music. Unfortunately, other interpretations strayed so far from the original that it was difficult to endure. Maybe because at some point the volume of the singing varied so much that it was difficult to ignore. Conclusion: The basic requirements are there (great location, efficient processes, good products, well-trained staff, etc.). Unfortunately, it is not enough to know “how to do it” in theory. In order to exploit your potential, you need love, discipline and the will to continually examine and question your own achievements. For over 100 euros per person (3 courses + wine accompaniment, aperitif and coffee) you can expect significantly more finesse.

Das bellpepper vereint eine hohe Kreativität mit sehr gutem handwerklichen Können. Dazu kommt ein grandioser Service- insbesondere vom Restaurant Manager, der auch noch über eine exzellente Weinkenntnis verfügt und ein geborener Gastgeber ist - mittlerweile selten geworden. Kurzum: ein fantastischer Abend Leider kommt die Hotelbar nicht ansatzweise mit - ein sehr schönes Ambiente - allerdings Drinks und Service extrem ausbaufähig.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience during our visit to the Bellpepper restaurant. We ordered a schnitzel, which was not only the most expensive (€32) I've ever eaten, but also took the longest - a full 1.5 hour wait. The prices are absolutely outrageous for what you get. As an apology for the long wait, we were promised dessert. Instead we got a Ramazzotti and had to pay €14 for it. Although I did not ask for a free service, the promise of the service was disappointing and not kept. Overall it was a disappointment across the board. Unfortunately I will not visit this restaurant again.

Spent our wedding anniversary here. The staff was very friendly. Ambience on the Rhine is also great. The food was delicious, but I would have expected a little more from the burger side dish (a sauce or sweet potato fries, for example).

The daily menu is a very good alternative to the menu offerings. As far as the service is concerned, there is nothing to complain about, always approachable and friendly. What we also like is the location on the Rhine, especially outdoors on the terrace in summer.

Absolute recommendation right on the Rhine - when the weather is nice, the terrace outside is very popular and great to enjoy. The selection is carefully thought out and the quality of the food is absolutely outstanding. During my long stay at the hotel, I always had a very good meal here. A big thank you again to the excellent service and the team in the kitchen. Speaking of which: This is open to view and is the absolute highlight of the restaurant. I would love to come back here in a beautiful location on the Rhine.

We always enjoy going to Bellpepper and enjoying the food and the wonderful view of the Rhine. But this time we would like to highlight the particularly courteous service. My wife and I wanted to share the beef tartare as a starter and not only was it served on individual plates, but the service staff also recommended two scallops each, which turned out to be a wonderful combination. The highlight later was the Entrcôte, which was also recommended to us.

My first impression when I sat down at the table was the extreme noise in the restaurant. It reminded me a bit of a canteen. The conversation was almost shouting. The staff was too attentive. Spending the evening in peace in a nice restaurant was by far not possible. The food was good...

We wanted to go drink a bottle of wine in this great location. Unfortunately not possible because you have to eat. We could have gotten drinks inside and sat next door on a terrace that was unlit. Incredibly bad service attitude!

First class from reception to coat retrieval. Bellpepper’s receptionist entertained my far from fluent German with the utmost grace. Hannah (waitress) was amazing; she too allowed me to practice my limited German without the slightest chuckle and event complimented the pronunciation of a word or two. Hannah also made outstanding food and drink recommendations. I also extend my compliments to the chefs; each and every dish, from appetizer to dessert, was executed with extreme attention to detail in preparation and presentation. A return trip to Bellpeppers is certainly on the agenda for return trip to Mainz.

We had a wonderful evening here again. In a prime location right on the Rhine, you can enjoy delicious food in a very nice atmosphere. The menu is clear but there is something for every taste. The preparation of the food is perfect. The meat is prepared to perfection and all dishes are seasoned perfectly. The wine list also offers something to suit every taste. There is also wonderful, very friendly and attentive service. The employees are really great. Dogs are also welcome here and you can also pay with a credit card.

I was there for dinner with a friend on Saturday evening. Unfortunately the evening was an absolute disaster. The staff tried very hard, but unfortunately they were completely inexperienced and helpless. Here some examples: Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 10 minutes at reception until someone showed us our table. The aperitif took half an hour to arrive; the wine had already been served to us beforehand. The bread with olive oil and salt was announced in big words on the menu. Then two starving rolls came to the table, unfortunately no salt and no oil. When asked, after 10 minutes a tiny bowl of poor quality olive oil with herbs arrived, but unfortunately no salt. We then gave up asking. The main course Coq au vin was bone dry, so we sent it back. The food as a whole was nothing special in terms of taste. Not bad, but nowhere near (!) what I expect from a gourmet restaurant at this price level. The staff was very embarrassed and they offered us desert and cafe for free. That's nice, but unfortunately it doesn't make up for the otherwise miserable evening. Last but not least, the invoice was incorrect and the card payment device was defective. In the end, we wouldn't have been surprised if someone from the "hidden camera" had jumped out of the corner, because so many "accidents" couldn't possibly happen in one evening. At least, the wine selection is very good, even if the wine list is so confusing that you have to look for the treasures for a long time.

Dear Bellpepper team, Unfortunately, our evening in the restaurant was poor in all areas for a restaurant in this price range. Starting with us waiting over 20 minutes for first service and a bottle of water. The aperitif we ordered didn't come at all. The main course was so dry that we had to return it. We were then offered a free desert and a coffee as an apology, which we later found on the bill. A total chaos between the service staff who were constantly changing. Sorry, that's just far too little for the standard you want to convey and the prices are completely excessive. A total failure - we were very disappointed.

We had a nice evening and my 3 blackheads were happy. Unfortunately my pumpkin soup was cold at room temperature and my €51 400g entrecote steak was more of a 250g extremely streaky rump steak. Unfortunately, the meat supplier doesn't seem to be worth the money. With a bill of over €300 for 4 people, the quality of the food simply needs to be increased a bit. All in all, unfortunately not a good price-performance ratio.

The food was excellent, very tender beef fillet, highly recommended. But unfortunately the service was pretty lagging, drinks took a long time and rarely anyone came, so you were left stranded for a long time if your own drink was empty. I would definitely have expected more for this location.

Have been witnessing the downfall of the breakfast buffet over the years. The view is stunning as always, however the food quality is going downfall. From freshly prepared tea leaves, pancake, eggs , etc from before to tea bag, dry,pre made pancakes and eggs. Servicewise at this restaurant is also a downfall, most of them have discrimination- if you are other races they avoid greeting/even looking at you, clearing dishes, etc. Actively went and asked for a coffee the lady quickly turned and ran away didnt even bother to look at you just said few moments but never returned. The tall guy went around and informed tables about last round for the buffet but purposely skipping my table. They looked if they only cared about clearing other tables' dishes like the Novotel style but nothing else.

It was great again! The atmosphere is still great and we always enjoy coming back. In terms of taste, there is hardly a better restaurant in Mainz. Unfortunately, the Caesar salad no longer includes corn-fed chicken, but instead contains 2 or 3 orientally seasoned chicken fillets. However, these are nowhere near the previous poularde, which was always prepared so tasty and crispy. The prices have almost doubled compared to last year, which we find a bit steep. The Caesar salad was previously €12 and now €21. If you also order the chicken fillets, the salad costs €35. In 2023 it costs around 26 or 24€. As always, the service is super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back and hope that the Caesar salad will be served with the delicious corn-fed chicken again at some point.

Das Essen war wieder ausgezeichnet und auch die Kulanzpolitik für das Ausbügeln der kleineren Unannehmlichkeiten, äußerst großzügig. Absoluter Dessert-Tipp aktuell: Das Nougatmousse. Es war etwas schwer einen Tisch heute zu bekommen! Nicht weil das Restaurant ausgebucht war, bei weitem nicht, aber an der Rezeption des Hotels Hyatt meinte man gegen 15.30h dass alles ausgebucht sei. Man sollte doch den Damen oder auch Herren an der Hotel Rezeption...

This exceed my expectations. Started with the sea bass ceviche with guacamole cream. The fish was well treated and balanced with the lemon and the combination with avocado was delicious. I am going to order this again. As the main dish I went for the filet with fries and seasoning vegetables. The filet was perfectly grilled and really tender. To the filet I was recommended a glass of a local Pinot noir which matched the food perfectly. This is the best restaurant I have been to in Mainz and should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Es war mal wieder ein tolles Erlebnis, immerwieder gern. Geschmacklich sind wir auf einem guten Niveau aber nicht auf einem Top Niveau ich finde oftmals das die Qualität Variiert mal ist es Super mal ist es einfach nur in Ordnung. Ich finde es aber Super, dass die Karte bzw. das Menü sich alle Paar Monate sich ändert. Service immer Top ! Ambiente Top !

Wir waren heute beim Jubiläums Brunch.. top .Essen gut ,aufmerksamer Service. Immer sauberes gefülltes Buffet. Danke ,kommen sehr gern wieder.

Bestes Restaurant in Mainz mit Terrasse und Blick auf den Rhein.

Vor einigen Wochen dort mit meiner Partnerin das Essen genossen. Das 3-gängige Menü ist das Geld wert und kann sich sehen lassen. Die Weinkarte ausgezeichnet - der Service top. So mag ich das. Wir kommen gerne wieder und deswegen einfach eine klare Empfehlung. Im Sommer kann es allerdings auf der Terrasse eng werden und man sollte eine Reservierung vornehmen. Wir sahen durchaus während unseres Aufenthalts einige, die abgewiesen werden mussten.

Essen ist sehr gut, Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit, Aussicht auf den Rhein ist sehr schön, allerdings sind die Preise exorbitant
