Taverna Apsimon Mainz in Mainz

Wir abends zum Essen dort und haben ohne Reservierung problemlos einen Platz bekommen. Es war gut besucht und trotzdem mussten wir nicht lange warten. Essen kam zügig. Getränke waren lecker und die Speisen auch mit Sonderwünschen kein Problem und sehr gut. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich. Sollte ich noch mal in der Gegend sein, komme ich wieder. Gyros mit Salat und Johannisbeerschorle kann ich nur empfehlen. Vielen Dank!

Update 29.06.2025 Über Lieferando bestellt und 2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet. Zwischendurch versucht telefonisch nachzufragen wo die Bestellung bleibt, keine Erreichbarkeit. Nach 2 Stunden irgendwann geliefert, bei einem Gericht wurde der heiße Feta auf den Salat gelegt und dadurch war dieser warm, matchig und nicht essbar. Auf Nachfragean Fahrer wurde mitgeteilt, dass nicht genügend Personal vorhanden ist wegen Vorbereitung auf folgender Urlaubsschließung. Sehr freundlicher Service und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut 👍

Super, ich habe mir das Essen ins Hotel liefern lassen. Alles perfekt zubereitet, der Geschmack war hervorragend.

Kleineres, familien geführtes griechisches Restaurante im Industriegebiet in Mainz-Hechtsheim. An Werktagen wird mittags vermutlich mehr durch die anliegenden Betriebe los sein. Dafür gibt es auch eine preiswerte Tagekarte. Wir waren Samstag Abends vor Ort und hatten einen Tisch auf der Terrasse und es war sehr ruhig. Sehr freundlicher Service und die Speisen haben uns auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Was uns auch positiv auffiel, war die Musik... keine übliche griechische Standardmusik ala Sirtaki, sondern scheinbar ein griechische Radiosender mit aktueller griechische Popmusik. :-) Edit: Nach erneuten Besuch zwei weitere Fotos hinzugefügt. Sehr lecker und gut gewürzt. Nicht so eine "Einheitswürzmischung" für alles. Salat zum Glück nicht aus dem Kühlschrank, also nicht eiskalt. Tzatziki sehr lecker. Das Ambiente ist angenehm, schöne weiße Tischdecken, griechische Musik; hier waren wir nicht das letzte Mal. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmig.

Weltklasse! Einer der besten Griechen, die wir je besucht haben. Wir haben die Apsimon Platte gegessen und wurden richtig satt. Das Fleisch war saftig, zart, heiß und perfekt gewürzt. Egal ob Souvlaki, Gyros, Lamm oder Bifteki - es war perfekt. Dazu ein dezentes Tzaziki und knusprige Kartoffelscheiben. Zum Abschluss gab es einen Kaffee und Ouzo, die den aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service abgerundet haben. Wir sind durch Zufall mit dem Schlemmerblock auf das Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Und es wird nicht der letzte Besuch gewesen sein. Gerne wieder!

Essen sehr gut. Egal was wir bisher dort gegessen haben war köstlich. Kann mit jedem Griechen in Mainz und Umgebung mithalten!

Wir waren donnerstag Abend bei der Taverna Apsimon essen und können die mit sehr gutem gewissen weiterempfehlen!! Das war mit abstand das leckerste und saftigste Bifteki was ich gegessen habe. Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, parkplätze paar meter neben dem lokal vorhanden. Ambiente eher schlicht gehalten aber trotzdem eine schöne atmosphäre. Also wirklich alles TOP!!

Ich habe nur draußen im Wintergarten etwas gegessen. Kann aber nichts negatives sagen. Essen gut; Bedienung freundlich; Alles sauber;

Wenn ich könnte, würde ich dieser griechischen Taverne in Mainz 10 von 5 Sternen geben! 🤩 Das Gyros ist einfach MEGA lecker – perfekt gewürzt, super saftig und außen leicht knusprig, genau wie es sein muss. Man schmeckt sofort die Qualität und die Liebe, die in der Küche steckt. Dazu frisches Tzatziki, knusprige Pommes und ein Salat, der wirklich frisch ist – einfach ein Traum! 🇬🇷 Die Portionen sind großzügig, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top und der Service unglaublich herzlich. Für mich definitiv die beste Adresse für Gyros in Mainz. Ich komme garantiert immer wieder!

Ich habe für Sonntagabend bestellt, und das Essen kam 1,5 Stunden später als ursprünglich angekündigt – obwohl das Restaurant nur etwa 6 Minuten entfernt ist. Das Personal sagte mir am Telefon, der Lieferfahrer sei bereits unterwegs, aber das Essen kam trotzdem erst nach 40 Minuten an. Und die Reaktion auf meine Rückerstattungsanfrage war absolut unprofessionell. Dieses Liefererlebnis war äußerst frustrierend, und ich werde in Zukunft definitiv nicht mehr hier bestellen. Die Bestellung wurde um 18:46 Uhr aufgegeben und die ursprünglich angegebene Lieferzeit war 19:46 Uhr. Tatsächlich hat der Fahrer jedoch erst um 21:01 Uhr bei uns geklingelt. Ich habe nicht bestellt, um erst um 21 Uhr zu essen. Natürlich verstehe ich, dass das Wetter und die hohe Anzahl an Bestellungen zu Verzögerungen führen können, aber wer möchte schon so spät noch essen? Es tut mir leid, dass wir die Stornierung genau in dem Moment angefragt haben, als der Fahrer ankam. Das war jedoch keineswegs absichtlich – wir waren gerade dabei, telefonisch Kontakt aufzunehmen, als der Fahrer eintraf.

Ein super Restaurant um vorort zu essen. Es war sehr lecker, schnell am Platz und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder!

Super lecker zu moderaten Preisen.

Sehr leckeres Essen! Das Restaurant befindet sich im Industriegebiet. Die Räumlichkeiten sind solide, aber nichts besonderes.

Wir waren Samstag abends Geburtstag feiern und auf dem ersten Blick hat es uns gefallen , es gibt mehrere Parkplätze direkt am Restaurant. Das Lamm Fleisch war besonderes Sehr lecker, so saftig leckerer Lammsteak mit Metaxa Sauce habe ich noch nie gegessen. Dann noch ein Kataifi als Nachtisch bestellt und zum Abschluss noch einen Ouzo von der sehr netten Bedienung bekommen. Wir kommen wieder auf jeden Fall!!

Sehr leckeres Essen, von Grilltellern über gutes Tzatziki bis zu einem leckeren Salatdressing. Der Innenbereich ist eher klein aber gemütlich, wenn die Türe nicht andauernd geöffnet wird und es zieht. Reservierung empfohlen, Essen lohnt sich!

Wir waren dort Silvester Abend mit Freunden. Essen ist super lecker und schnell vorbereitet. Service war sehr gut. Das einzige was mir nicht gefallen hat ist Ambiente. Sehr einfach gehalten ohne Dekoration.

Based on our experience yesterday, the service at this restaurant is purely profit-driven and has absolutely nothing to do with customer service. We had been looking forward to a pleasant evening and had reserved a table a week in advance. We even drove all the way to Mainz from out of town. When we arrived, we were surprised to see so many guests sitting outside in -3°C weather (on a covered terrace with side walls) without any heaters or similar amenities. Inside, two rather young "servers" assigned us a table outside, as our indoor reservation hadn't worked out. This hadn't been mentioned when we made the reservation. To us, this seems like a scam, because with only about six tables inside, they can't generate much revenue under normal circumstances. Adding the terrace and hoping that some guests will play along makes it more profitable. But that doesn't work for us; we don't support such business practices and won't be visiting this restaurant again, not even in the summer.

The portions aren't very large, but they're excellent!

Delicious food, friendly service, and we didn't have to wait long. There's an outdoor seating area where you can sit even in winter. Plus, a delicious dessert.

The food tasted delicious, but the texture of the meat varied. Both the gyro and the turkey fillet had their ups and downs. Both cuts of meat had hard, dry spots. Everything else (salad, appetizers, fried potato slices) was very tasty. The service was very friendly, and everything was clean and comfortable.

Very good Greek restaurant in the Hechtsheim industrial park. Parking isn't easy to find at lunchtime on weekdays, but the search is worth it. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and immediately shown to a free table. Our drinks order and delivery were prompt. The dishes we selected arrived attractively presented. Everything tasted very good. The meat was very well seasoned, and the side dishes were also delicious. Conclusion: The value for money is excellent, especially at lunchtime. Three main courses and drinks for €38 plus tip. We will definitely visit the restaurant again.

A sweet girl served us, and she was helpful with our table change. Good food, generous portions. But back in the day, every Greek restaurant always gave you a free ouzo before your meal, as a warm welcome. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. But I'd say go back to that habit; it always made me happy. I wouldn't mind paying a few cents more for the dishes. Everyone's happy.

We came here on the recommendation of friends and sat in the pavilion. Smoking is also permitted here—something you should be aware of when sitting down. Alternatively, you can, of course, also eat inside. The four of us all had different dishes with appetizers and were thoroughly delighted with the food. The service was also super friendly and quick. We used the Schlemmerblock (snack pad) when paying, which worked without any problems. All in all, a wonderful meal, highly recommended—we'll definitely be back!

So, I can't say much about the atmosphere. We ordered here for the first time today. It took a bit longer than Lieferando stated... Hmm, that's stupid... But we live in the middle of nowhere. Now comes the relevant part... The food was amazing... I had a large gyro plate and my wife had saganaki... It was brutally delicious. I'm not usually a fan of thickly sliced ​​meat from a rotisserie, but this was amazing. Perfectly seasoned... Perfectly cooked... Absolutely perfect. The saganaki... Super tasty... The tzatziki was amazing... And the delivery person was super nice. This was definitely not the first time we've ordered from there ❤️

We've only ever picked up lunch. Yesterday was the first time in the evening. Always very good quality, attentive, and friendly. Despite having a gourmet meal plan, we didn't want the coupon. It was still included in the price. Great gesture, we'll be coming more often in the evenings now.

Absolutely outrageous! Yesterday we ordered food from the taverna. They initially said the driver would be there in 30-45 minutes. After 90 minutes, we called and were told he'd be there any second. Another 15 minutes later, we heard screaming in our hallway. The driver was running around in a rage without even calling or ringing the bell. In the most unfriendly manner imaginable, he handed us the food, which was completely leaking and covered in oil. He didn't even say hello and had a truly negative aura. We then just wanted to pay quickly to accept the food, gave him 50 euros, whereupon he immediately started to walk down the stairs without batting an eyelid. When I pointed out that we still needed change, he rudely and very grimly handed over the missing euros and then left immediately without even saying goodbye. The food this time was truly awful. Apart from the meat, everything was inedible. The olives simply tasted bitter, and the tomatoes in the salad were completely watery and flavorless... On top of that, some things were delivered incorrectly that we hadn't even ordered. That was definitely our last order for a while...

Nice quiet atmosphere, good and inexpensive food. We ordered by phone and picked it up. It was ok too. Our recommendation is lamb grill platter for 1 person, but for € 27.00 it can also feed 2 people.

Six of us had dinner at the taverna on a Monday evening and were pleasantly surprised. Service is super friendly, the food is prepared to perfection and an ouzo at the end. Definitely coming back!!

Food is sometimes ok and sometimes not so much. Schnitzel, bifteki etc. are ready meals that are quickly thrown into the deep fryer, even the fried fish comes from it. The maximum that comes out of the pan is the meat on the skewer or the gyros. Tzatziki and bread is delicious, Service was friendly, atmosphere was very bland. Actually just a slightly better snack with varying quality. It's a shame, loading would have potential if you didn't just focus on profit and used the deep fryer less

We found the store via Google Maps while traveling in the area. Very friendly staff, the small mixed starter plate with warm bread was an ideal starter and the main courses were also very tasty.
