I'm always happy to come back here. The price/performance ratio is great and the service is very good. The clams and shrimps are particularly recommended as starters.

Super tasty, decent portions, not exactly cheap but acceptable price with friendly service. A nightcap at the end is on the house. It was my second time there at some distance. You really have to bring a lot of time. Both times it took well over an hour for the main course (schnitzel, very simple) to come to the table. Too long for me, I won't be seeing you there again any time soon.

Gute portugiesische "Hausmannskost", alle Gerichte etwas rustikal angerichtet, aber geschmacklich überzeugend. Große Auswahl an Meeresfrüchten und Fisch, besonders zu empfehlen sind die Gambas. Dazu portugiesischer Wein und Bier. Das Lokal ist relativ klein und daher recht laut, dafür stört es niemanden, wenn man Kinder mitbringt. Man sollte am Wochenende reservieren.

We have been coming here regularly for years. We always order the same dishes: fish soup and muslitos, then shrimp with the typical Portuguese potatoes, with a side salad - every time. That sounds boring, but it's not. It's familiar, nice, simple and soooo good...and also a little piece of a good habit. Hmmm...I think we'll go again today!

Everything was very authentic, even the paper tablecloths, the selection of food and drinks was great. It was my first visit, but definitely not the last. My sea bream was very tasty, my companion had scabbard fish, I was very impressed but it is very fatty, you have to like it.

The food is always delicious and you can taste the love for your job! Personally, I like sea bream the best :) The staff is also super friendly! You may have to wait a little longer for the food, but it's 100% worth the wait here. I can only recommend this small but fine restaurant to everyone!

Meine Freundin und ich hatten einen super schönen Abend. Das Essen ist sehr authentisch und super lecker. Die Atmosphäre erinnert ein bisschen an eine Kneipe, gesellig und ausgelassen. Waren am Freitagabend eigentlich nur dort, weil ein anderes Lokal, wo wir eigentlich hin wollten, uns nicht zugesagt hat. Und es erwies sich als Volltreffer. Schon vorher sensationelle hausgemacht Aioli mit eben solchem Brot und Oliven dann eine geniale Fischsuppe. Danach Garnelen und Seehecht mit ungeschälten Kartoffeln. Alles absolut lecker und preislich auch günstig. Am Ende gab es nach dem Zahlen noch einen Portwein aufs Haus. Absolute Empfehlung!.

Super Essen zu zivilen Preisen. Urlaubsfeeling, weil nach Portugal versetzt. Einfache Landes typische Einrichtung, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Der obligatorische Fernseher ist glücklicherweise stumm geschaltet.

Ehrlich, mega lecker, persönlicher Service. Hier fühlt man sich als Gast willkommen, nicht als Kunde, der nur Geld liefern soll. Ein kulinarisches Kleinod im Herzen Dr Mainzer Neusatdt. Papa macht die Aioli selbst, die Eier von den eigenen Hühnern...

Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist super. Auch wenn hier sehr viel Knoblauch und Öl zum Einsatz kommt. Ist aber Geschmackssache. Der Service ist gut.

Das Café Portugal ist ein sehr authentisches portugiesisches Restaurant. Das Essen ist frisch und super lecker. Die Preise sind spitze. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr offen und herzlich. Ich kann es jedem empfehlen dort essen zu gehen!

Das Essen war einfach nur bombastisch. Man hat vor dem Essen VIEL Brot bekommen, dazu gab es noch selbstgemachte Knoblauch-Butter und ein paar Oliven. Der Hauptgang war auch sehr lecker. Ich empfehle die Nr. 27 (wenn ich mich richtig erinnere)😅. Der Chef ist auch sehr nett. Im Großen und Ganzen 10/10

Netter Platz in zentraler Lage, leider mit schwieriger Parkplatzsituation. Speisen und Getränke zu angenehmen Preisen.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Es handelt sich um ein äußerst authentisches portugiesisches Restaurant. Die Einrichtungen innen und außen sind rustikal, aber das hat uns gut gefallen. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, aber weniger ist hier mehr. Uns hat alles gut geschmeckt. Auch waren die Kellner sehr hilfsbereit. Einzig die Wartezeit war etwas lang, es war aber auch viel los. Sonst top, gerne wieder!

Sehr gute, typisch portugiesische Küche samt wunderbarem ebenfalls typisch portugiesischem Ambiente, man fühlt sich wie in Portugal. Cozinha excelente num ambiente muito típico português, um sítio perfeito para matar saudades.

Beste Risois de Camarao und auch die gemischte Fischplatte , sowie andere Speisen sind super. Der beste Portugiese in Mainz und Umgebung. Preislich und von der Qualität Top.

Das Lokal hat sich seit Jahren nicht verändert. Das Essen ist gut und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Es war wie immer sehr voll, laut und eng bestuhlt. Der Service war gut Das Personal ist freundlich wirkte aber überfordert wegen der Anzahl der Gäste. Zum Schluss gab es noch einen Absacken auf Kosten des Hauses, danke. Gerne mal wieder

Wir haben verschiedene Vorspeisen und diverse Sorten an Fisch als Hauptspeise probiert und alles war lecker und nett serviert. ...einzigst die Möbelierung und Einrichtung sind nicht mehr zeitgemäß, aber trotzdem gibt es volle Punktzahl!

Ehrliche und schmackhafte mediterrane Küche ohne unnötigen Firlefanz, sympathischer und aufmerksamer Service . Wir sind häufig dort und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Die Gambas in Olivenöl und Kartoffeln sind ein Traum. Sensationell lecker, grosse Portionen und Preis Leistung stimmen. Die Familie ist immer nett freundlich auch wenn es mal länger dauert, dann trinkt man einfach ein Wein mehr ;-). Einfach empfehlenswert. 😋

A little place on a corner on Mainz near the hopbahnhof, great atmosphere. We sat at a long table with 10 people and never wanted for anything. The waitress was always attentive and refilling our wine, and seafood platters. Great place to share since the meals are rather large.

...war schon mehrmals in diesem Restaurant, wobei das Essen ordentlich war. Doch am vergangenem Freitag trifft das Essen von Fett/Öl. Auch waren die Pommes frites mehr schwarz als goldgelb. Enttäuschung!

Wir hatten für mehrere Gäste reserviert, allerdings war nicht für die entsprechende Zahl an Gästen gedeckt. Wir fragten mehrmals nach, mussten uns aber selbst darum kümmern, einen Tisch zu organisieren. Essen schwamm wie gesagt im Fett. Gegessen wurde auch nicht gemeinsam. Das Essen meiner Nachbarin kam, als ich meins bereits gegessen hatte.
