Beautiful venue, fantastic food and a truly special place! The only drawback is that the waiter rarely comes to the table. But everyone is very friendly and it is really a special experience to eat here. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and absolutely loved it. As soon as you enter you are greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The furnishings are stylish and cozy at the same time, so you immediately feel at home. The service was exceptional - the staff was attentive, friendly and professional. Our wishes were immediately fulfilled and the waiters' recommendations were perfectly tailored to our tastes. The food was simply fantastic. Each course was prepared with attention to detail and tasted a true revelation. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors perfectly balanced, and the portions just right.

My favorite restaurant in Munich. The owner is lovely and always fulfils every wish. I can’t describe how amazing their afghan spinach is. The lamb, the rice and the aubergine dishes are amazing. Definitely give the entry platter a try. I actually had my first date here with the person who turned out to be the love of my life. The surprisingly best caipirinha in town made a serious impression on my brazilian partner.

What can I say...just great food, ambience! Since I no longer live in Mchn, I haven't been there for a long time. That doesn't happen to me anymore. My girlfriend has never had Afghan food; she was very excited too! For me, my absolute favorite in Munich!!!! It's great that the boss has maintained his level over the years.

As a big lover of Afghan cuisine and also Chopin at Gasteig and Schwabing, I was very disappointed with what was on offer in Neuhausen. The appetizer's pumpkin was diced so small that it was hard to find (compared to the thick slice). Very little meat in the saffron Tschalau, a single plum stone, coriander in homeopathic doses had to be looked for with a magnifying glass. The other dishes were ok overall, but nothing more, my mother's veal was fibrous and overall everything was just way too expensive. We skipped dessert and instead got ice cream at Punta Gelato, which was the culinary highlight of the evening. Bread was charged extra (I didn't know that either), cash payment was not possible. I like to spend money on great food, but the value for money here isn't there. The worst thing was the waitress (owner?), who had a (stupid) excuse for everything, scolded us when we ordered and didn't let us order what we originally wanted. Actually we should have left here already, but we were still trying to find it funny. In the end I tried to explain to him why I was disappointed, but he didn't want to know anything and said that then I would know where I wasn't going anymore. Impossible, this man has no idea how to deal with guests. Wasted money. And yes, I know for sure that I will not be entering this restaurant again.

The food is very good, I definitely recommend Ayran.

The food was really great, which would justify the high prices. Drinks more so-so. We would have easily drunk three times as much as we actually drank because we simply weren't served in between. Refusing to pay by card is also very special. All in all, the overall package doesn't fit.

My absolute favorite restaurant! The starter “Kadoo” is very tasty as is the side dish spinach. Meat is always very tender and extremely delicious. The vegetarian dishes (especially Quabeli Palau and #324) are also highly recommended. Unfortunately, the restaurant has been closed for some time for unknown reasons (holidays perhaps?). In any case, no one is available and there is no sign on the door.

I will not repeat this experience, the food quantity is very little only on the middle of the plate as shown in the photo and the cola is not full it is almost half of the cup! Its not as we used to from all the restaurants we went to,also the treatment is so bad

We ordered chicken with biryani rice and meat with biryani rice... The taste is very good and melting, an experience that I will repeat.. I thank the employee who was there, his name is Qais, he was friendly and helpful 🙏🏻

This is likely one of my most favorite ethnic restaurants in Munich. They serve afghani food that is very similar to Persian food. I have been here three times and this time was my first time after a couple of years. Although everything still tastes amazing and well prepared, the prices have increased considerably and because they have expanded to a second space two doors down, if you are sitting in the annex, service is very slow. I ordered their yogurt side dish with my mixed grill plate )which was amazing) but it arrived almost after I was finished with my main dish and I ended up eating it as a dessert.

I'm a big fan of Chopan, but I wouldn't go to this location again. As usual, the food was excellent, well seasoned and the pumpkin starter was particularly excellent. Unfortunately the atmosphere here wasn't nice. No music, furniture a bit musty. The staff was rather unfriendly and abrupt, we didn't feel welcome. Better go to the branch in Schwabing!

The food is good but the quantities are outrageous compared to the price. The waitress was unfriendly, loudly watched videos on her cell phone behind the bar and it just wasn't a pleasant atmosphere. The furnishings are pretty worn - the carpet at the entrance is wrinkled and you have to be careful not to trip. The drinks are also overpriced for what you get. The house lemonade actually only tastes like water. All in all, not a recommendation! The restaurant in Schwabing is significantly better

It is a great place to go if you would like to eat very delicious food. The service is very good and polite. It's my favorite Afghan restaurant in the town.

If you want to feel really unwelcome as a guest and be treated condescendingly, then you've come to the right place. Half of the food and drinks we selected were not available. So when it came to a vegetarian dish, the only choice was rice with potatoes or spinach, as the eggplants were not available. However, this existed in the other court. Very strange. The quality of the food was okay, even if it was carelessly prepared, but it was far too expensive for the small dishes that were declared as “main courses”, which we were hardly full of. In any case, we won't go there anymore.

Overall, we had a great evening, the atmosphere of the place is really incredibly appealing and cozy. We were thrilled with the food, the quality is excellent. The portions seem relatively small at first glance, but that is deceptive. The food is very filling and you're happy when you don't have to leave anything left over, like in Bavarian cuisine. The service is fast and friendly, but sometimes seems a bit curt. But you shouldn't forget there are only two of them in the kitchen and service and the place is full. There is a star deduction for the price. But don't forget that we are in Munich, meat and spices are expensive, but I still think it would be a little cheaper. In conclusion: we would like to come back.

There were 4 of us here. We once wanted to go to Narendj Palau with grilled chicken skewers but the boss didn't want to do that because it wasn't traditional and that wasn't possible, even though it was possible at every other Afghan restaurant so far. Instead we had to take braised chicken, which we really don't like at all!!! It was very, very unpleasant because we had no other choice to take it and didn't want to just get up and leave because we were still there with friends The portion was really very very small 2 I myself ordered quabeli palau carrots were fried and there were only 2 small pieces of veal in there rice portion was really minimal (see picture). We then ordered the hot green sauce and red sweet sauce, which cost an extra €3.50, where everything is actually on the house Overall it was 2.5 stars out of 5. The boss was actually nice but customer requests should be taken into account much more so that people are satisfied

Been there for the first time, proven to be incredibly good cuisine and at the same time unique in Munich. No. 321, 104 fresh Andechser keg beer, then immersed in a uniquely hot and spicy taste oasis. Especially the lamb from the rump in its grill roasted aromas (lava stone grill). Also this rice, what an incredibly delicious preparation. The quality is super fair for today's prices for such a charming little restaurant, and it's understandable why it's been hidden in the side street for 22 years.

Very tasty food, grilled dishes really well seasoned and prepared. Unfortunately, the eggplants were already out at the beginning of the evening, which is a shame - eggplants are one of three side dishes with the main courses. Reduction in the choice when loading is therefore 33%! However, the price-performance ratio is not entirely appropriate, you pay quite a lot. The food came quickly despite a visit on the weekend. Devaluation through negative comments from the staff on our food order. In my opinion, everyone should be given equal rights in choosing their portions. Ambience very authentic and good!

It was my first time eating Afghan food, totally thrilled, very good recommendation from the boss.

Overall a little more than okay. Food wasn't as overwhelming as I expected from the comments, but good. The portions could have been a little larger. Service was nice and accommodating. The distances to the neighboring tables were definitely too small because you heard every conversation with one ear and only spoke in a whisper so as not to bother the others.

So we were there on December 26th, 2023 When eating based on recommendations, unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. Service was totally unprofessional, we weren't really taken into account, we didn't want bread for our starter and we had to wait almost 10 minutes, probably forgotten! It was as small as cubes for four people. I'm sorry, but the great reviews people give unfortunately don't match the service and food. The food isn't bad! You should still work on presenting it on the plates, and the portion is far too small for the price, i.e. three pieces of meat and that's called meat skewers, sorry, but that's a disgrace and for 26€

About the staff… friendly, accommodating and the boss gives personal food recommendations when it's appropriate. Now to the food… we were more than satisfied with everything, starters and main courses. The spiciness and balance of spices in the dishes was sensational. A true culinary experience. All in all… a wonderful evening with friends and I have absolutely no complaints about it.

We went there for the first time today and it was really excellent! A very friendly host gave us good advice on our selection. The starter plate with the various dips was a very good start. The main courses - we had grilled chicken and braised veal - tasted great. The restaurant is really highly recommended if you want to try something new and completely different. - the food was good yet small portions for a very elevated price (e.g. Lamb was four pieces) - you can only pay cash, no other payment is possible. - we didn’t like the service as the owner tried to always be in the right, of informing us that cash would be the only way of payment when in case he didn’t and all of us agreed that the whole arguing ruined the otherwise ok experience - in the current form we will not come again. We hope that the owner would concentrate on the service and larger portion sizes. Best, NR

Özellikle 24 ve 27 numaralı menüler favorim. Kuzuyu daha önce hiç bukadar güzel tatmadığınıza eminim. Yemek sonrası pudingleri var. Finalde de çayınızı içtiniz mi deymeyin keyfine. Çocuklara göre bir yer değil ama eşler ve arkadaşlar için çok uygun bir yer. Çorba ,24 numara,puding ve çay içtim. 50 euro civarı ödedim. Fiyat lezzet perdorması diğer restoranlara göre çok iyi. Wir waren zu viert Abendessen. Das Lokal hat angenehmes Ambiente und freundliche Bedienung. Wir wurden bei der Auswahl der Speisen gut beraten. Das Lammfleisch war sehr zart und auf den Punkt gegrillt. Die Aubergine und der Reis sehr gut gewürzt. Es hat uns allen 4 sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Preise sind nicht günstig, aber Qualität hat nunmal seinen Preis.

Wir hatten einen sehr guten Abend bei Chopan. Beim ersten Mal waren wir am Gasteig gewesen und dieses Mal in Neuhausen/Maxvorstadt. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und das Essen war einfach "on point". Zudem gibt es auch genügend vegetarische/vegane Gerichte - sprich jeder kommt auf seine Kosten!

Das Beste Restaurant Münchens, Inhaber ist der liebste und sympathischer Mensch und das Essen ist sowieso Weltklasse. Die Arbeiter waren sehr nett besonders der Sahel, ein wirklich sehr netter hilfsbereiter junger Mann.

Sehr gutes Essen mit fantastischen Gewürzen. Von der Vorspeise über das Hauptgericht bis zur Nachspeise war alles sehr lecker und die Portionen perfekt. Es gibt auch eine gute Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten. Preis-Leistung stimmt. Wir haben einen wunderschönen Abend verbracht und kommen auf alle Fälle wieder. Schön war auch, dass uns der Chef Empfehlungen gegeben hat, die 100% den richtigen Geschmack getroffen haben. Vielen Dank für den tollen und freundlichen Service. Das Chopan in der Elvirastrasse können wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Allerdings sind die Portionen für die Preisklasse schon recht klein. Ohne Vorspeisen wird man nur kaum satt.

Mit Freunden haben wir hier gut gegessen und der Service war sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und ausgesprochen schnell. Man würde gerne mit "gut" bewerten, wenn die Skala dies erlaubte. Die Speisekarte bietet eine ansprechende Auswahl von Fleischgerichten und vegetarischen Tellern, mit Salaten, Suppen und speziellen Vorspeisen. Man kann Kalb, Huhn oder Lamm wählen, gereicht werden vorwiegend am Spiess gebratene oder geschmorte marinierte Fleischbrocken (gemischter Grillteller auch möglich). Die vegetarischen Gerichte entsprechen den Beilagen, die zu den FLeischgerichten gereicht werden. Das Menu-System ist leicht zu durchschauen, es läuft nach dem Baukastenprinzip, welches die gleichen Produkte entweder mit Huhn, oder Kalb oder Lamm oder als vegetarisches Hauptgericht präsentiert. Diese Ökonomie erleichtert es der Küche, und in Bezug auf den sehr guten Geschmack der Speisen ist nichts einzuwenden. Nach meinem persönlichen Vorlieben beurteilt ist das Lammfleisch sehr mild und würde einem Orientalen oder Asiaten weniger gut munden. Wenn es die Masse so will.... wer aber Kalbfleisch mag soll doch dieses wählen. Die Preise sind für die gebotene Qualität und Menge durchaus günstig, verglichen mit anderen, die sich der Inflation bedienen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker! Der Besitzer des Restaurants hat uns verschiedene Empfehlungen zu seinen Speisen gegeben, die wir dann auch so genommen haben - und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Das Restaurant ist absolut zu empfehlen.

Authentic Afghan restaurant. All dishes were well done, with mostly fresh ingredients, tasty and filling. The interior was cosy in a 1001 nights theme, though furniture was a bit worn and arrangement cramped. Service was quick, staff friendly, prices above average. Can be busy in the evening, better call ahead to reserve a table. Parking space in the residential area is very limited, better take convenient public transport.

Ich gehe regelmäß ins Chopan und genieße die Gerichte und das Ambiente sehr. Der Preis für die hervorragende Qualität ist absolut fair. Der Besitzer und Gastgeber ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Immer wieder gerne!

Es war sehr gut und wir hatten unseren 2 jährigen Sohn dabei ,das war auch kein Problem, da ich vorher eine Rezension gelesen hab die das ungerecht behauptet hat .Ja es ist oft ausgebucht aber sie dafür ungerecht zu bewerten ist eine Frechheit. Viele reservieren einfach und haben kein benehmen abzusagen ,falls sie doch nicht können. Bitte mehr sachliche Bewertungen und keine Emotionalen Fantasien. Wir kommen gerne wieder ,und die Preise passen auch für die Qualität, weiter so vielen dank für das hervorragende Essen

Heute zum wiederholten Mal hier sehr glücklich gewesen, hervorragend gegessen und getrunken und sehr gut umsorgt worden

Take away telefonisch nicht möglich. Aber konnten vor Ort bestellen und mach 30 Minuten abholen. Leider war eine Portion mit Fladenbrot sehr klein, obwohl offiziell ein Hauptgericht. Vorspeisenplatte für über 15€ war auch sehr klein (nur 8 frittierte Teilchen). Alle Gerichte mit Reis sind super empfehlenswert, gute Portionen, super Reis, alles schön scharf.

Wir würden am liebsten 7 Sterne geben. Oder 8. Wir hatten Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen (vegetarisch und mit Huhn) und Nachttisch. Und wirklich alles war fantastisch! Das Restaurant ist wunderschön eingerichtet, der Service ist erste Klasse. Bedient wird man vom Chef persönlich, dem man sein Engagement und die Liebe fürs Detail deutlich anmerkt. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder und können das Chopan bestens empfehlen!

Fantastisches Essen in einem tollen Ambiente. Der Inhaber ist unheimlich sympathisch & verkauft es authentisch, dem Gast sowohl atmosphärisch als auch kulinarisch ein schönes Erlebnis bescheren zu wollen - und das gelingt ihm vollkommen. Bei dieser Qualität ist auch der etwas höhere Preis absolut angemessen. Kleiner Makel: Keine Kartenzahlung möglich. Das schmälert den ausgezeichneten Gesamteindruck aber keineswegs. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Angenehmes Ambiente, sehr gutes Essen. Das entsprach dem Niveau des Pendants in Schwabing. Leider war der Service aber um Welten schlechter als in Schwabing, daher nur knappe vier Sterne.

We went to Chopan couple.of times, always with a friend group. Atmosphere is nice and food is delightful. I recommend to follow the restaurant advice and ask for a selection of starters to share. I absolutely loved the pumpkin dish which was cooked in a spiced tomato sauce, eggplant as well was delicious. We paired our meal with one of the teas of the house, their black tea with rose water was amazing, my partner took the cardamom tea. Overall a really nice experience
