Truly a very wonderful experience in every aspect. I've been dwelling on how much I enjoyed it since. The resturant is very cozily lit and beautiful – which is great for comversation over the table. We started with the recommended appetizer, a spicy pumpkin dish. It shocked me with how rich in flavor and complexity it had. For my main dish I had the BEST lamb I've had the fortune of tasting. Every bite was as impressive as the first, just so delicious that I cannot convey its quality. The resturant seems to be family owned and operated. And the bit of conversation we had with them was lovely. This is a wonderful place to go on a date.

WOW! We were there yesterday for a birthday party with about eight people. For larger groups, the owner prepares several appetizers and main courses to share. This allows you to experience truly authentic Afghan cuisine. Well, what can I say? We were absolutely thrilled! The food is cooked by the owner himself, and you can feel the love and pride he puts into preparing each dish. The meat was incredibly tender, the sauces were rich and flavorful, and the bread was fresh from the oven. We will definitely be back with a larger group, as this is a rare treat. Finally, no recipes altered to appeal to Western palates, just pure Afghanistan. A huge thank you to Qais – he's a natural host, and nothing is more important to him than his guests' satisfaction. This is evident not only in the service but also in the food. We had a perfect evening. Thank you so much!! ❤️

Chopan is simply top-class when it comes to food. The staff is incredibly friendly; I feel truly comfortable and welcome here. Even as a German, I'm here at least once or twice a week. Here, origin or anything else doesn't matter—a person is a person, and you can feel that. A clear recommendation for elegant and beautiful dining.

I thought the food was okay. I preferred the branch at Münchner Freiheit. I'm deducting one point because they don't accept card payments. That's unacceptable these days, in my opinion.

We've been coming regularly to our trusted Afghan restaurant for over 20 years 🫶 We've never been disappointed with the food! It's all the more wonderful to see that such a classic Afghan restaurant, with all its culinary delights, has been taken over by the second generation. Dad still does the shopping, but cooks in the afternoons. During the week, he's at home and only serves on weekends! His son is doing a great job, and we look forward to enjoying the Afghan delicacies for the next 20 years. We wish him continued success and warm regards, the Rossi family.

The food was very tasty – perhaps a bit spicy overall, but that's probably Afghan cuisine. The service was also friendly and prompt. The place is beautifully decorated with an oriental flair. Our seat was right next to the doorway to the restroom, where there was unfortunately a bit of a chilly breeze. We'd love to come back!

We ordered delicious grilled eggplant, which was out of this world, and sweet and light potato samosas. Grilled chicken bukhari rice was delicious and peppery, and lamb biryani. The food is excellent, the chef speaks Arabic, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are respectful. Reservations are required.

Our visit was very disappointing. When we think of a mixed appetizer platter for two, we think of a sample of several appetizers. However, we received a plate of only fried vegetables. When we asked about it, we were told it was mixed vegetables anyway! However, the menu definitely didn't mention a completely fried platter, and we would never have ordered it. The restaurant's high rating was far from accurate and is a mystery to us. The service lacks customer focus. The ambiance is mediocre at best.

Bukhari Restaurant is one of the best restaurants I've tried in Munich. The food is delicious, especially the chicken and rice. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is fast. Chef Maher deserves all our thanks and appreciation for his warm welcome and delicious cooking. The food is truly mouth-watering and I recommend everyone to try it.

Came here for dinner and had veal do piasa for 23.50€ which is an okayish price. Portion size was fine but there's no side apart from a thin bread the dish is served on so I'd recommend ordering some bread or rice with it. Anyway the actual taste is rly nice and full of flavor. Service was quick and friendly but cash only is not great... anyway overall p good.

Wow, ... ... the taste, the ambiance, the hospitality – simply amazing!!!! We actually came here quite by chance and reserved a table the day before just to be on the safe side. However, that wouldn't have been necessary on the Monday we visited, as unfortunately there weren't many guests. The two of us shared an appetizer (pumpkin – very tasty), two dishes from the lava grill, and a dessert (milk balls – also very tasty). This allowed us to try a bit more without overeating. The main courses were chicken breast with brown fried rice, and we were offered roast veal instead of lamb. We opted for the version with salad and flatbread. Both dishes were very good, and the meat was cooked to perfection. The veal was a bit spicier than the chicken, but both were a taste experience. The same goes for the rice and the salad (it had a very special dressing). The spiciness was just right for us – although that might be a problem for people who don't like it that spicy. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. He spontaneously asked if he could explain something about the dishes and then answered our questions completely. He also offered us a change from lamb to veal. He was attentive throughout our entire stay. The price is perfectly reasonable for what's on offer. The restaurant's ambiance is also great – we felt very comfortable. The decor is oriental and very harmonious.

A hidden gem in Neuhausen and my new favourite restaurant in Munich. Great atmosphere, fantastic reception by the chef Qais and unforgettable food - I didn't know afghan cuisine was this good!!!!! Looking for recipes of borani kadoo this moment :-) I don't know if I was lucky, but I didn't even need a reservation - so it's a good place for spontaneous people like myself. Definitely coming back

Egal ob Vorspeise oder Hauptgericht, es war einfach nur köstlich. Besonders der Kürbis macht süchtig, aber auch ein Linsengericht und eine Huhn-Spinat-Kreation, dessen Reis mit feinen Orangenaromen sehr fein war, haben herrlich geschmeckt. Ein sehr schöner Abend, wir können das schöne Lokal nur empfehlen.

I went there on vacation a couple of weeks ago, their service was as amazing as the food I would 10/10 try this again and recommend to all my friends.

Recently me and my mom came here for vacation and we loved the service it was amazing, the food was also incredible. Overall we had an amazing experience here especially with the owner, he is a really funny and handsome man and I wish I even brought some food with me to America because nothing tasted the same after I had this amazing food.

Interestingly, my review got deleted so I’ll post it again, just with one star less: - the food was good yet small portions for a very elevated price (e.g. Lamb was four pieces) - you can only pay cash, no other payment is possible. - we didn’t like the service as the owner tried to always be in the right, of informing us that cash would be the only way of payment when in case he didn’t and all of us agreed that the whole arguing ruined the otherwise ok experience - in the current form we will not come again. We hope that the owner would concentrate on the service and larger portion sizes.

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and absolutely loved it. As soon as you enter you are greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The furnishings are stylish and cozy at the same time, so you immediately feel at home. The service was exceptional - the staff was attentive, friendly and professional. My favorite restaurant in Munich. The owner is lovely and always fulfils every wish. I can’t describe how amazing their afghan spinach is. The lamb, the rice and the aubergine dishes are amazing. Definitely give the entry platter a try. I actually had my first date here with the person who turned out to be the love of my life. The surprisingly best caipirinha in town made a serious impression on my brazilian partner.

What can I say...just great food, ambience! Since I no longer live in Mchn, I haven't been there for a long time. That doesn't happen to me anymore. As a big lover of Afghan cuisine and also Chopin at Gasteig and Schwabing, I was very disappointed with what was on offer in Neuhausen. The appetizer's pumpkin was diced so small that it was hard to find (compared to the thick slice). Very little meat in the saffron Tschalau, a single plum stone, coriander in homeopathic doses had to be looked for with a magnifying glass. The other dishes were ok overall, but nothing more, my mother's veal was fibrous and overall everything was just way too expensive. We skipped dessert and instead got ice cream at Punta Gelato, which was the culinary highlight of the evening. Bread was charged extra (I didn't know that either), cash payment was not possible. I like to spend money on great food, but the value for money here isn't there. The worst thing was the waitress (owner?), who had a (stupid) excuse for everything, scolded us when we ordered and didn't let us order what we originally wanted. Actually we should have left here already, but we were still trying to find it funny. In the end I tried to explain to him why I was disappointed, but he didn't want to know anything and said that then I would know where I wasn't going anymore. Impossible, this man has no idea how to deal with guests. Wasted money. And yes, I know for sure that I will not be entering this restaurant again.

The food was really great, which would justify the high prices. Drinks more so-so. We would have easily drunk three times as much as we actually drank because we simply weren't served in between. Refusing to pay by card is also very special. All in all, the overall package doesn't fit.

My absolute favorite restaurant! The starter “Kadoo” is very tasty as is the side dish spinach. Meat is always very tender and extremely delicious. The vegetarian dishes (especially Quabeli Palau and #324) are also highly recommended. Unfortunately, the restaurant has been closed for some time for unknown reasons (holidays perhaps?). In any case, no one is available and there is no sign on the door.

I will not repeat this experience, the food quantity is very little only on the middle of the plate as shown in the photo and the cola is not full it is almost half of the cup! Its not as we used to from all the restaurants we went to,also the treatment is so bad

This is likely one of my most favorite ethnic restaurants in Munich. They serve afghani food that is very similar to Persian food. I have been here three times and this time was my first time after a couple of years. Although everything still tastes amazing and well prepared, the prices have increased considerably and because they have expanded to a second space two doors down, if you are sitting in the annex, service is very slow. I ordered their yogurt side dish with my mixed grill plate )which was amazing) but it arrived almost after I was finished with my main dish and I ended up eating it as a dessert.

The food is good but the quantities are outrageous compared to the price. The waitress was unfriendly, loudly watched videos on her cell phone behind the bar and it just wasn't a pleasant atmosphere. The furnishings are pretty worn - the carpet at the entrance is wrinkled and you have to be careful not to trip. The drinks are also overpriced for what you get. The house lemonade actually only tastes like water. All in all, not a recommendation! The restaurant in Schwabing is significantly better

I'm a big fan of Chopan, but I wouldn't go to this location again. As usual, the food was excellent, well seasoned and the pumpkin starter was particularly excellent. Unfortunately the atmosphere here wasn't nice. No music, furniture a bit musty. The staff was rather unfriendly and abrupt, we didn't feel welcome. Better go to the branch in Schwabing!

It is a great place to go if you would like to eat very delicious food. The service is very good and polite. It's my favorite Afghan restaurant in the town.

If you want to feel really unwelcome as a guest and be treated condescendingly, then you've come to the right place. Half of the food and drinks we selected were not available. So when it came to a vegetarian dish, the only choice was rice with potatoes or spinach, as the eggplants were not available. However, this existed in the other court. Very strange. The quality of the food was okay, even if it was carelessly prepared, but it was far too expensive for the small dishes that were declared as “main courses”, which we were hardly full of. In any case, we won't go there anymore.

Overall, we had a great evening, the atmosphere of the place is really incredibly appealing and cozy. We were thrilled with the food, the quality is excellent. The portions seem relatively small at first glance, but that is deceptive. The food is very filling and you're happy when you don't have to leave anything left over, like in Bavarian cuisine. The service is fast and friendly, but sometimes seems a bit curt. But you shouldn't forget there are only two of them in the kitchen and service and the place is full. There is a star deduction for the price. But don't forget that we are in Munich, meat and spices are expensive, but I still think it would be a little cheaper. In conclusion: we would like to come back.

There were 4 of us here. We once wanted to go to Narendj Palau with grilled chicken skewers but the boss didn't want to do that because it wasn't traditional and that wasn't possible, even though it was possible at every other Afghan restaurant so far. Instead we had to take braised chicken, which we really don't like at all!!! It was very, very unpleasant because we had no other choice to take it and didn't want to just get up and leave because we were still there with friends The portion was really very very small 2 I myself ordered quabeli palau carrots were fried and there were only 2 small pieces of veal in there rice portion was really minimal (see picture). We then ordered the hot green sauce and red sweet sauce, which cost an extra €3.50, where everything is actually on the house Overall it was 2.5 stars out of 5. The boss was actually nice but customer requests should be taken into account much more so that people are satisfied

Been there for the first time, proven to be incredibly good cuisine and at the same time unique in Munich. No. 321, 104 fresh Andechser keg beer, then immersed in a uniquely hot and spicy taste oasis. Especially the lamb from the rump in its grill roasted aromas (lava stone grill). Also this rice, what an incredibly delicious preparation. The quality is super fair for today's prices for such a charming little restaurant, and it's understandable why it's been hidden in the side street for 22 years.
