Very deceptive, unfortunately, and not recommended. Even one star is a lot for this restaurant! I've eaten there several times with friends, but for me, this is simply not Afghan cuisine. The Kabuli Palau was at least two days old, the kebab didn't taste like Afghan cuisine at all, and the pakora was full of oil. After I personally asked the waiter if the chef was really an Afghan chef, he smiled and said yes, but the chef is new, and that was it. No apology or anything. Yesterday, my wife and I ordered sheryakh to go. It smelled of food spices and onions. When my wife returned the sheryakh, she had to wait for the manager, and after a long discussion, she got her money back. When my wife left the restaurant, the manager told his employee, "Don't let that woman in here anymore." I find this behavior very disrespectful to a woman, and I am personally ashamed of it, both as a man and as an Afghan. As the owner of a restaurant, you should show more respect towards women and guests instead of making such disrespectful remarks over €20. I hope that such disrespect doesn't occur to other women and guests in the future. My wife and I definitely don't want to go there again. I look forward to your feedback!

Unfortunately, my visit to the NIGIN Afghan Restaurant was disappointing. While the food was okay, the service left a lot to be desired. The waitresses were unfriendly and inattentive, and we had to wait far too long—both for our orders and for simple things like water or the bill. It felt like guests were more of a burden than welcome. It's a shame, because with better service, the restaurant could offer so much more.

First of all they didn’t tell you that it’s only cash payment he wait until we finished and he tell us oh it’s only cash payment I told him you should tell us when we inter he says I wrote at the door but he wrote it that in German and most of the costumer in that restaurant Arab or they understand English.

He said, "Leave your phone or something valuable here" and even followed us outside, saying, "I will call the police on you." We told him we were just going to get the money from our sister. We are Muslims—we do not steal, God forbid! We were very upset and deeply offended by how we were treated. To my fellow Muslims: I do not recommend coming here at all. The food was good, but the service was poor. We didn't find a sign indicating that payment was cash only. At the checkout, we were surprised to find that the account was cash. The man told us to go get the money immediately, but his manner was inappropriate. He said, "Leave your phone or anything valuable here." He followed us and said, "I will call the police." Highly recommended! 😍 The lunch menu from Monday to Saturday was simply delicious, with a wonderfully seasoned lentil soup. The main course of meatballs was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The fried chicken was super juicy, I've never had anything so juicy. Quiet and a bit out of the way. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very very expensive compared to others at the same level

To be honest, the prices differ from reality, especially for Gulf citizens. I noticed an abnormal price increase. Make sure before paying. The minimum quantity is very small. I ordered a tikka masala and I was surprised that they brought me a chicken heater and white rice. Poor service, delayed ordering, and abnormal exploitation. There was a very ill-mannered employee.

The food was delicious… But charging us for something we didn't order or canceled was completely unprofessional. Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype We were really looking forward to visiting this restaurant during our trip to Munich. We had guests from Vienna and were touring some of the biggest cities in Germany, and this place caught our eye because of its great location. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations at all. We ordered the Afghan ice cream (Shir Yakh), hoping for something special, but what we received was nothing like the traditional dessert. It was basically tasteless ice — no flavor, no texture — just a bland, disappointing dish. It felt like no effort was put into making it. We left feeling very let down. Definitely not a place I would recommend based on our experience.

Pure disappointment! The staff were very unmotivated and unfriendly. Decor/curtains were completely screwed together. We got eggplant as an appetizer, but for that price, we got maybe a quarter of an eggplant on our plate?! And it wasn't even well prepared. We hoped that at least the main course would taste good. Mantu is usually filled with minced meat and onions, but here we found mostly onions. The rice was okay, but the kebab that came with it was not well seasoned and grilled. I simply cannot recommend anything about this restaurant!

My spouse and I went in there with our 3-year-old. They sat us outside but promised us a table inside when shortly available. That was fine. Then they took us inside and gave us the tiniest table for 2. We obviously couldn’t fit so they said to wait and they would find us a table. Minutes go by and my son is starving and my spouse doesn’t even have space to stand so he goes off. Finally after 30 mins of wasting time there, we just left. So yeah it was a sad experience. They could have just said that they didn’t have a table and we would have found somewhere else. No issues! But wasting our time, especially when we had a toddler with us, was pretty uncool!

Not worth a star. We ordered lamb kebab, and they brought us meat mixed with liver. The food tasted absolutely awful. I wouldn't recommend it. I'd rather go to the Darya Restaurant or Hindu Kush. Sorry, but I'll never go there again. The staff are so rude. They charge a lot for food like that.

I went to NIGIN Afghan Restaurant with my boyfriend over the weekend. We ordered rice with meat, a selection of sauces, ayran, mango lassi, and an appetizer platter for two (three different appetizers with quark dip). The appetizers were tasty, but a bit too greasy for my taste 😔 The rice was soft and filling, but quite bland – I missed the usual spices. The mango lassi was refreshing, but the mango flavor was barely noticeable. My boyfriend enjoyed everything, especially the meat. The portions are very large – we were so full that we could hardly get up afterward 😅 The atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet and cozy. There were only a few customers – some leaving, others coming, but there was no rush. The menu is in English and, as far as I could see, also in Afghan. The service was friendly and quick. Overall, an interesting experience, especially if you want to try something new. Personally, I would choose a different dish next time.

The service was attentive, friendly and made the evening completely pleasant. You can tell that people cook with passion here. I'll definitely be back - a real highlight!

Unfortunately we were back in the Orientisch restaurant – and almost everything was bad. The first impression: a dark, uninviting atmosphere with dusty decorations reminiscent of old buses. Although the waiter was friendly, he didn't know many basic rules of gastronomy. Then came the menu: confusing, ugly and completely chaotic. For example, the numbering suddenly jumped from 47 to 22 and then on to 35 - just absurd. The starters were of very poor quality and the glasses smelled so unpleasant that we had to ask for a replacement. The young man who took our order tried hard, but the basic concept was just bad. The quality of the food was very disappointing - even though I had often enjoyed very good food from Afghan friends. In this comparison, this was simply loveless and tasteless. I don't even want to go into the details - the table was dirty, the chairs were full of leftover food and trash from the previous guest. The service was also extremely poor: when the plates were cleared, only half of them were taken away, the rest were simply left there. When dessert came, only half was served - we had to get up ourselves to ask for the rest. The toilets were also not at the level you would expect from a restaurant in the center of Munich. Running a restaurant is hard work and requires a high level of management and discipline. Unfortunately, in restaurants like Orientisch, many basic standards are simply not met. High prices, but food and service well below average.

Nigin is great for a quick lunch. The food is okay, the price/performance ratio is just okay. The service varies a bit, sometimes very attentive, sometimes a little less.

Expensive, portion is small. they don’t accept card payments and they don’t tell you before (trying to avoid paying government taxes?). I don’t recommend this resturant to tourists. They put the lunch menu which is half priced outside but inside you will pay double.

Was quite disappointed with my experience. The rice in the Kabuli Pulao were undercooked, which took away from the overall taste. Additionally, they had added potatoes to the dish, which was quite unusual and not something I expected. The staff was not attentive at all, I had to leave my table and walk up to the waiter just to request the bill. Overall, the experience was below expectations, and I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

They don't have a wide variety of dishes, it's mostly variations of pilau (meat stewed with onions, carrots, spices and rice) and kebab, but they make them really well. If you want a hearty and flavorful meal this is the right place.

A very tasty and authentic meal from Afghan cuisine. The Palau was very tasty and had the typical raisins and carrots in it. I really enjoyed my Mantu and the portion was big enough. We also tried a single lamb kebab, which I really enjoyed. We will certainly come back.

Neither EC (because from Austria) nor visas were accepted! Why don't we just say EC and only German EC cards? Looks to me like a store that prefers to see cash, for whatever reason. NEVER AGAIN!!!

If you really want to enjoy Afghan cuisine, this restaurant is completely out of place!!! Overpriced, small portions and anything but “rustic” preparation! We were there in the evening, it was initially very busy with visitors, but this decreased significantly as the evening progressed - but the waiters were anything but attentive and friendly...we sat in the upper area and I had to wave "excessively" until we were noticed, EVERY TIME! I've tried almost every Afghan restaurant in Munich, Nigin is by far one of the worst!!!

I had great expectations, which unfortunately were disappointed. Food: The quality of the food was disappointing, we didn't like it at all. The prices were definitely too high for the quality offered and the small portions. Service: The waiters weren't exactly rude, but some comments were inappropriate and seemed unprofessional. Positive: The music created a good atmosphere, which was unfortunately the only bright spot. Overall the experience was unsatisfactory and I would like to see improvements in both food quality and service.

Acceptable food with poor service. Had to wait 10 minutes for cutlery and napkins to arrive after the starter was already served!! Despite asking 3 different servers. Then the mains arrived before the cutlery. Servers only cared to upsell, nothing else. Tried to pay by card, they did seies of drama to make me pay cash. Very unprofessional!

Cozy and colorful Afghan restaurant. Friendly staff and variety of meat and vegetarian, hot and spicy dishes. The rice dish with chicken and potatoes was excellent and plentiful.

The thing with credit card payments ALWAYS works the way the many reviews write: at the beginning it says that credit cards are accepted and at the end "the card doesn't work, do you have another one??" It really has a “Gachmäckle”, but you can't always say that about the food: the “soup” no.2 (with lentils - €5.50) was more of a paste in consistency, very thick, but it was nonetheless yummy! The lamb no.35 (the boss's specialty) was unimaginative in taste, almost bland, is that supposed to be Afghan, the house specialty? The pancakes in which the "stew" was wrapped were tough (top) and soggy (bottom), definitely not enough lamb for just under €22. In addition, flatbread was served and three kinds of sauces, actually completely unnecessary because these sauces didn't go well with the sauce of the lamb stew at all, the yellowish one tasted like mayonnaise, the bright red one was actually sour-tomatoy-good, but didn't go well at all and the green-oily one tasted good A little like spinach, with a slight spiciness, didn't fit either. So in terms of taste it was a wild mix, without a plan. The yoghurt-mint-cucumber-lemon-sparkling water trunk (dough - €4.90) was really nice. Overall, the whole thing was far too expensive, the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

I mostly eat at Afghan restaurants, but this restaurant did not meet my expectations. There was no Afghan bread at all, even though I ordered that specially, unfortunately the rice and kebab we ordered were not cooked properly.

The food was very bad and expensive for such a small portion. We ordered a plate for two people, only white rice came warm from the microwave and a bit of meat and a bit of tomato sauce for €30. So I recommend you not to eat there.

Fuimos a Nigin un domingo por la noche. El ambiente era muy agradable, el servicio era excelente y rápido. Pedimos Sammarod Palau ba Kababe Morgh (pollo) y Katschalu Tschalau (cordero). Los platos estaban deliciosos y bien condimentados. De postre pedimos Fermi y Jala; estaban muy sabrosos. La única desventaja es que el pago solo se puede hacer en efectivo o con tarjetas alemanas. Visa y Master no son aceptados.

Food tastes very good. The waiters are also very friendly. Went there at lunchtime and it was already busy. We had to wait a bit until we could get in, but it was still within limits. It was my first time at Afghan and I wasn't disappointed. We recommend the starter plate for 2 people & the 25. Very nicely decorated.
