Restaurant & Café Giovannis Inn in Hamburg

Highly recommended. An authentic neighborhood Italian restaurant with many regulars and no tourists. The food is very high quality, and has been for many years. A relaxed atmosphere with Italian service! The decor is a bit dated, but it doesn't really detract from the experience. Consistently good. Thanks, Vito!

The pizza is okay, but nothing special. The bowling alley in the basement is very good. Unfortunately, they don't accept card payments, which is hard to understand. I wouldn't recommend this place, except for the bowling.

Poor service; we were left waiting for 20 minutes despite having a reservation. It took another 15 minutes to order drinks. The pizzas were tasty, but not as special as, for example, at Luigi's in the Portuguese Quarter.

The best Italian food you can get outside of Italy. It's a family business, and everyone lends a hand. For example, the owner's sons and his brother. They're all warm, friendly people, and the service is top-notch. The food is of the highest quality and tastes exceptional. The ambiance is upscale, classic, and Italian. And the view—well, it's the Milky Way alone—is beautiful. The restaurant's location reflects this. My conclusion: if you love good Italian food, you should definitely visit Ristorante Portonovo.
