The food was exceptionally good. It was the first time in my life that I'd eaten a knuckle of pork without mustard, to preserve the delicate, original flavor. The dessert was also truly delicious.

We were with 3 people and dog for dinner, the terrace is just beautiful and the food as well as the service everything was great. Very friendly and clean environment, we will gladly come back, thank you

The first disappointment came right at the beginning of our visit: almost all of us had been looking forward to burgers, but they were no longer available. Okay, that can happen, we found alternatives. There was nothing to complain about with the food per se; it was very tasty. Only the pork medallions had some raw spots. When we asked about it, we were referred to the chef, who was still an apprentice and trying hard. That can happen, too. But no concrete apology came – oh well. In the same breath, we were offered a shot on the house (and all seven people heard it as such). It wasn't until we got home that we realized we had to pay for it. That really annoyed us and explains this review.

Restaurant Café Am See – Plau am See Anyone staying in Plau am See over Pentecost – like we did in the adjacent apartment hotel – shouldn't simply consider the "Café Am See" restaurant a nice side dish, but rather a main course with an experience factor. Because what we experienced here wasn't just a series of restaurant visits – it was more like a long-term culinary date with a high sympathy factor. On the very first evening, a little late and without great expectations, Jane welcomed us – a true original, who couldn't have been more beautiful. With a touch of cheeky charm, a lightning-fast overview, and a generous portion of North German warmth, she promptly served us a first-class solyanka, even though the kitchen was already closed. No hesitation, no snippy "kitchen is closed," but a genuine "There's still something left to do." And how! From then on, we became regulars – at least for the next three evenings. And we spent every single one of them at the Restaurant Café Am See. No two evenings were the same, and yet everything was consistently great: The food was fresh, perfect, and well above what one would expect from a hotel restaurant. The menu offers something for everyone – from regional classics to fine, modern dishes. Particularly noteworthy: the spiced meat and the outstanding burgers. But what would a good meal be without the right accompaniment? I'm not talking about the cocktails – which, by the way, were also excellent – ​​but Jane. She was not just a server, but an entertainer, a judge of character, and also the restaurant manager in one. With her keen eye, she always knew when it was time for the next drink, a casual remark, or a recommendation. After the first evening, she knew our drink preferences better than we did ourselves. At her obligatory "Aperol Spritz and Gin and Tonic?" we could almost nod in unison. She embodied what is called "cheeky and charming" in Berlin and "snazzy" in Hamburg – a true highlight. The restaurant itself is stylishly decorated, overlooking the lake, which is bathed in warm light in the evenings. The terrace is large, well-maintained, and perfect for long summer evenings where you'll lose track of time – especially after your second gin and tonic. 😉 Conclusion: If you're in Plau am See and don't visit this place, you're missing out. And if you're lucky, you'll experience Jane in person – then you'll not only get great food, but also be guaranteed an evening that will be remembered for a long time. The food was delicious. Whether it was schnitzel with asparagus or solyanka, you could immediately tell the chef knew his craft. The service was also very friendly, and the food arrived quickly. A great restaurant and highly recommended for anyone looking for a good restaurant in Plau am See.

From August 7th to August 17th, 2024 we went on a spontaneous vacation at the Heidenholz holiday park. Since we had booked half board, we were able to help ourselves to the breakfast buffet and enjoy a 2-course meal in the evening. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service is very friendly, responds to requests and always has an open ear. Whether in the restaurant or on the terrace, we felt very comfortable. Here you can let all fours dangle.

We just wanted to eat ice cream and drink coffee. As soon as we entered the restaurant, a “good day” was already too much. The staff working there could no longer be surpassed in terms of ignorance. The table next to us was cleared, but no staff was seen at our table. The dishes were not cleared away by the people at the table beforehand. After 15 minutes of internal anger, we left this inhospitable facility. It's remarkable that you can afford to scare guests away. Never this place again!

We have on July 19th. 24 sat there on the terrace and had lunch. Then after our bike ride we had coffee and cake there. Very friendly, courteous service. I can only recommend it

The waffles and sundaes are great. The Aperol Spritz also tastes good. Unfortunately, this encouraged us to stop there for dinner. We had a farmer's breakfast with very burnt fried potatoes and way too much bacon. We also ordered a burger. The fries are delicious (the quantity is easily enough for 2 people), the burger is unfortunately very bland and the frozen patty was fried too quickly and hot. Out came a crispy and dead piece of meat. A pity... Conclusion: Very good for coffee, cake and ice cream. Unfortunately, no recommendation for an evening meal with warm dishes!

Sehr gutes Essen und freundliches Personal

Eine wirkliche Überraschung - leider nicht im positiven Sinn - haben wir erlebt. Fast 17 Euro für einen sehr überschaubaren Salatteller mit Hähnchenbrust (schätzungsweise < 100 g Rohgewicht und leicht angebrannt) ist schon heftig. Dass die Salatblätter auf Briefmarkengröße geschnitten waren, die Zubereitung sehr lange gedauert hat und uns am kommenden Tag die Salattüte im Supermarkt auffällig bekannt vorkam spricht für sich. Das Burgerfleisch machte einen TK-Eindruck und war ebenfalls leicht angebrannt.

Die Hirtenpfanne ist richtig lecker und das Personal außerordentlich freundlich

Ein wirklich schönes Restaurant, sehr gutes Essen. Gehobene Hausmannskost, sehr lecker und toll angerichtet. Toller Service und auch ist das Personal sehr kinderfreundlich. Es gibt eine Ausmal kinderkarte und gleich Stifte dazu. Alles extra wünsche wurden ohne Probleme erfüllt.

Der Service war freundlich, die Einrichtung in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber. Das Ambiente verströhmte den Charme einer 80ziger Jahre (gehobenen) Zeltplatzgastronomie. Das Essen war okay, nur teilweise "convenience food", wenn auch sehr überteuert.

Ein super Ort um mal zu genießen, sogar im Winter

Leckere Burger mit tollen Pommes und freundlichem Service. Hier kann man super schön schlemmen und sitzen.

Google Maps hat diese Lokalität bei der Suche nach einem Eiskaffee vorgeschlagen, entsprechend muss ich meine Bewertung darauf basierend abgeben. Wie von der gezeigten Karte zu entnehmen, ist die Auswahl an Eis doch sehr dürftig. Es gibt recht spezielle Angebote, etwa Eis mit Likör und Apfelmus (Schwedeneisbecher), jedoch beschränkt sich die Auswahl der Eissorten selbst auf Schoko und Vanille. Das hätte man definitiv ausbauen können. Dementsprechend sind die Variationen auf der eiskarte natürlich auch sehr begrenzt. Auch die Zutaten hätte man mit Kokant, Streusel oder Schokolinsen noch erweitern können. Fazit: Wer nach einer Örtlichkeit mit großer Auswahl an Eissorten sucht, sollte sich hier nicht von Maps beirren lassen und dieses Restaurant für ein Eiscafe halten. Bei dem Angebot wurde hier nämlich sehr gespart und man kann nur von Glück reden, dass man überhaupt Eis bestellen konnte.

Es war sehr schön dort. Und das Areal ist gepflegt..der Spaziergang zum See ist sehr schön gewesen.

Getränkepreise jenseits von Gut und Böse. Ab 17 Uhr Reservierung erforderlich ist für ein Restaurant in einer Ausflugsregion wohl auch etwas übertrieben. War immer gerne und oft hier beim Essen. Hat sich leider erledigt.

Ambiente und Service super. Sauerfleisch kaum genießbar. Burger für ein reines convenience Produkt überdurchschnittlich teuer.

Aufgewärmte fertige Patty im Hamburger ist kein guter Anfang und wird auch mit Bedienstete mit schlechter Laune nicht besser. Da erwartet man als Gast beim Hotel nicht über 1.60 Euro zu wenig Bar Geld dabei nicht 3 mal "Nicht vergessen Geld zu bringen" bekommen und nicht nach Zimmernummer gefragt zu werden.

Sehr leckerer Kuchen, allerdings war der Kaffee doch recht dünn? Da wünsche ich mir beim nächsten Besuch ein klein wenig mehr wumms im Aroma!

Freundliche Bedienung, schönes Ambiente im Außenbereich, doch das Essen war leider eine Enttäuschung. War das dritte Lokal während des Aufenthaltes in Plau am See. Das ausgebuchte Lokal am Vortag, die Rezessionen und die Speisekarte schraubten unsere Erwartungen und Vorfreude auf das Dinner. Bestellt hatten wir die Gerichte Bandnudeln mit Basilikumpesto (2x) und Hähnchenbrust mit Mozzarella überbacken und dazu gab es ebenfalls die Bandnudeln 1x). Leider waren die Nudeln verkocht, das Pesto geschmacklich nichts-sagend und Portionsgröße bei der Hähnchenbrust (im Vergleich zum Burgergerichten am Nebentisch) aus Preisleistungssicht, mehr als unangemessen. Auch der Nachtisch konnte es nicht rausreißen. Ob wir dem Lokal noch eine zweite Chance geben nach dem wir z. B. mit „Zeislers Esszimmer“ eine kulinarisches Erlebnis hatten (bei ähnlicher Rechnung) bleibt fraglich.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden, es hat von vorn bis hinten alles gepasst. Super Qualität vom Essen und die Bedienung war top.

Ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Es lohnt sich einmal rein zu schauen. Auch das Essen war sehr gut 👍. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Ab 17 Uhr muss man Platze vorbestellen.Das Restaurant hat eine schöne Lage. Es ist der Plauer See nicht weit entfernt. Man kann sich gut vorstellen einmal Urlaub in der Gegend zu verbringen.

Ältere aber gute gastronomische Enrichtung. Begrenztes Kuchenangebot.Servicepersonal etwas distanziert.

Wir waren hier früher oft in Urlaub. Jetzt waren wir auf Familienbesuch in Neustrelitz. Und da mussten wir natürlich nachschauen ob es immer noch so schön ist wie wir es in Erinnerung hatten. Ist es. Es lohnt immer noch dort Urlaub zu verbringen.
