We quickly decided to have lunch in the torch garden. Despite the tables being reserved, we were allowed to sit down. We ate excellently, everything was delicious, very friendly staff. We liked the atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

Rating includes only the experience in the restaurant. This was my second time in the torch garden with my family. The prices are already high. But okay, the location is just great and the atmosphere is very upscale and pleasant. You just pay for that. The service was very courteous, friendly and neat both times. (Personally, I'm bothered by sloppy, pierced waitresses in restaurants.) Now about the food: The tapa plate that everyone in Plau is talking about is really awesome!!!! Versatile, unusual and to feast on. 24 euros for one person, okay. But as soon as we get to the main courses, things go downhill for us. Sometimes we feel like we want too much. Of course the dishes are innovative. But here a little foam and there a crumb and another tirili. This doesn't fill you up and confuses the palate. Both times I had fish that was always too dry and somehow tasteless in all the trimmings. Sometimes less is more.

We (60 and 64 years old) spent our short vacation at the Hotel Fackelgarten in Plau am See. We received a very friendly welcome at reception and were given double room number 13 on the first floor. The room faces the street (cobblestones). The small bathroom has no natural light, but has a nice shower. Unfortunately the room doesn't have any overhead lighting, so it was a little dark. You had to close the curtains so that the neighbors couldn't see in (even in daylight). All in all, the room was quite small, but still attractive. To be sure that you park your car in the local area, it is advisable to book a parking space for €9.00 per day. Breakfast is served in the attached restaurant. It is brought to the table and is very diverse, high quality and very tasty. Any allergies that may exist are taken into account and the breakfast is adapted accordingly. Egg dishes can be ordered personally and are freshly prepared. There was also coffee, tea, juices, etc. We visited the restaurant twice in the evening and ate there. You should definitely reserve a table, especially if the terrace area is not available due to weather. The menu may be a little small, but the dishes we chose were high quality and we really enjoyed them. The service in the hotel was also good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Conclusion: We really enjoyed our stay in the torch garden, we were particularly impressed by the breakfast and dinner. And if you can still use the terrace on warm days, it's even more worth it.

We were in both the hotel and the restaurant. The staff (in all departments) and the owners are very friendly and warm. You immediately feel welcome. There is always positivity and a pinch of humor. Breakfast is served at the table. It is prepared with a lot of love and personal wishes are taken into account. The concept prevents food waste and ensures peace and quiet as there is no “buffet operation”. The cuisine in the restaurant is very delicious and rich. The map contains special features that you won't find anywhere else. It's worth every penny. Great emphasis is placed on seasonal and regional dishes. However, you should know that due to the central location there are no dedicated parking spaces. But there are options within walking distance. Since this is a small hotel there is no lobby or lounges. The rooms are modern and, in our opinion, very tastefully decorated. The facilities are good. We even had a view of the water. Everything is clean. The doorstop rabbit as a “door sign” (do not disturb) is a great idea and immediately puts a smile on your face. There are earplugs in the hallway. Since it was quiet, they weren't needed. Bicycles can be rented at the hotel for 10 EUR (normal bike) and 25 EUR (ebike) Overall, a coherent concept. You can see a common thread. We'd love to come back.

Small but nice hotel, family apartment very modern and comfortably furnished. I can't rate the room because we just wanted to drink coffee in the restaurant and have something to eat. I ordered a waffle with butter, sugar and cinnamon (€6.00 ​​according to the menu). A waffle with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream and cherry jelly was brought (according to the menu: €10.00). When I told the waitress what I actually ordered the answer was, he did something wrong, do you also take this into account for the price of your order? I took it even though cherry jelly and whipped cream aren't exactly my favorite foods. When the bill came it said €10.00 for the meal. I got a two euro discount for the wrong dish. I then told the waitress that according to the menu the waffle I ordered only cost €6.00. Your answer no €8.00, just as the cashier printed it out. I showed her the price on the card and the answer was that I have to tell him in the morning that he has to print out the correct card. No apology, no money back. So please be careful and check the invoice carefully before paying.

I can't comment on the rooms as we only visited the restaurant. The location is absolutely great & the service is great - We only had the tapas plate, but it was great and went well with the bottle of rosé wine. Dogs are allowed.

Sehr geschmackvolles modernes Ambiente und Bedienung auf überdurchschnittlichem Niveau. Speisen und Getränke lassen wenig zu wünschen übrig. Ebenso waren der exzellente Service und das gemütliche Ambiente direkt am Wasser tatsächlich eine echte Empfehlung, aber bestenfalls vorher einen Tisch reservieren!

You come to this restaurant as a guest and you immediately don't feel welcome. You will be asked to go inside from the outside area if you have not reserved the space in the outside pond. Question: How are you supposed to reserve something if you as a tourist don't know the place? Arrived at the table indoors and the next burner. Since we just wanted to drink something and not eat anything, we were asked to vacate the table. This shop is unbelievable! Expensive according to the menu and rude staff. Not recommended

We discovered the restaurant by chance and stopped in at 12 p.m. We were welcomed very nicely by the service staff. The location directly on the Elde with a view of the old lift bridge is very hygge. The modern ambience, whether indoors or outdoors, invites you to relax and linger. The menu reveals modern, interesting dishes (not the standard fare). We ate very well and enjoyed the time. The Fackelgarten restaurant was our spontaneous destination for an early dinner today. 2 people with dog. The service was very nice and helpful. Despite many reservations, we got a great seat inside. The furniture is very attractively combined with modern and old. The tapas plate was super tasty.😋 It was a successful culinary stop.

Hello dear friends of good taste, I would like to rate the food here, but that didn't happen today. First of all I would like to mention that I don't actually write bad reviews, but we were really annoyed here today! We were there at 3:30pm or shortly after...yes, we didn't have a reservation! At that time, a total of around 2-3 tables inside and outside were occupied, the rest outside was reserved. So we asked for a table, the lady said she would come back shortly and let us know... Okay, no problem, the view is nice... Instead of letting us know, conversations seemed to be more important... Then the 2 ladies talked inside and one said "That one" and pointed at us... It was now about 3:50 +/- a few minutes... yes, the table outside would be free and would only be occupied from 5 p.m.... This message came several times asking if we only wanted one course, there wouldn't be time for more. If the lady had taken care of us right away, not so much time would have been lost, as I said, the restaurant was almost empty! When my wife was more or less forced to sit down because there wasn't much time left, we really lost our desire and left the restaurant... just like in 2023, there was a similar incident, but We still wanted to give the torch garden another chance because some people raved about it... There are also plenty of other restaurants where you can eat, which the lady called/told us afterwards. We would have gone inside, which wouldn't have caused us any problems because of the time, but it was just too warm there... Now, after the second attempt, I have to say: never again! You can reserve as many tables as you want from us - if the guests show up at all about 1.5 hours later, that's it for us! There are also some similar reviews. If you want to know how to deal with guests, even without a reservation, you should go to Taverna Thasos! Absolutely top class, despite the restaurant being full, friendly, funny and on the ball. It may not look as fancy from the outside as the Torch Garden, but the food and service have always been impeccable on our visits! 1 star for the beautiful view! Service arrogant and arrogant. Food cannot be rated, it didn't come to that... And honestly, we're still annoyed by the statement "That one"... and I would have liked to give a good rating.

In addition to the culinary blah blah in Plau am See, I was happy to experience a restaurant that seemed appealing according to the menu. The reality is different. Not just in terms of price. Unfortunately. I was happy to follow the service staff's recommendation and order the scallops that weren't on the menu in advance. There was a small visual highlight. However cold. The foam served with it and the pickled version of cauliflower florets... Didn't make it any better. For the main course I ordered pike perch... A delight, with crispy skin and beautifully cooked to perfection. Also different than expected. The pikeperch was much too dry, which the service staff unfortunately noticed even during a conversation. The whole thing is mottled.... It's a simple way, probably.... Hopefully the only thing in the world not to enjoy it. For me personally - a rape of the great product. On the menu there is also a boujabais, plauer type... Based on my experience, I didn't want to treat myself to that. Smile. Maybe a mistake. We were at the restaurant for lunch. The service, as well as drinks and food, were terrific. We recommend.

We spontaneously went to the restaurant with the dog because we were very hungry and had just arrived. We received a very friendly welcome and despite not having a reservation as it is usually full, we were given a table inside. The location on the water, with a view of boats passing by, which is why the historic lift bridge goes up and down next door, is just great. The food blows you away again because it was such a tasteful, perfectly seasoned, beautifully prepared explosion for us, just wow. All the waitresses were great, friendly, funny, attentive. All in all, it fits here and we want to book the hotel there next time we visit and are looking forward to this cute place with its many small shops, the 13th century church and the castle. There is so much to see there, just great.

Great shady spot right by the water. Super warm, fast service and ice cream flavors that I will never forget: wild berry cheesecake and salted caramel (like Daim) - a dream! The paradise spritzer was also very tasty and refreshing and saves the regional ones Steu orchards.

Very nice small hotel in the middle of the town of Plau am See with a modern flair. We had a nice room with a direct view of the lifting bridge. From here you can reach everything on foot. There are parking options in the immediate vicinity. The breakfast was very lovingly prepared, rich and absolutely delicious with homemade jams, yoghurt and much more. Very nice hosts who also have time for a quick chat. The in-house bike rental was also really practical. We felt very comfortable 😀

Unusual... Everything here is done with great attention to detail, which can be clearly seen in the great furnishings in the restaurant/terrace or in the dishes. The food is very attractively prepared and tastes fabulous. The portions are sufficient. The ambience also invites you to linger, whether inside or outside right by the river. A reservation in advance is advisable, but you can still try to get a seat in the restaurant spontaneously (especially outside of peak times). The torch garden is an absolute recommendation!

We had a really nice afternoon in the torch garden. The food was super tasty and the prices were completely reasonable because there wasn't the usual offering. The entire team was very accommodating and friendly, we immediately felt like we were in good hands (you're doing a great job!!!) There is one point deduction for the rooms, unfortunately because the cobblestones make it very loud at night when cars drive past (but the team can't do anything about that). The location of the restaurant right on the water and the lift bridge is still unbeatable. We would like to come again.

After about 40 km by bike we arrived here - great weather, food and service. Great view right on the water. We had pike perch with asparagus, Iberico with asparagus and cake. Everything was very tasty and beautifully served. The restaurant is at a higher price level, but it is still worth it.

Spontan mit 6 Personen an einem Feiertag kann schwierig sein. War sehr gut reserviert, wir hatten aber Glück mit etwas Geduld einen Tisch zu bekommen. Modernes, dennoch gemütliches Ambiente unmittelbar am Fluss mit historischer Zugbrücke. Sehr flinker, aufmerksamer Service - herzlich und dennoch stilgerecht! Tapasplatte für Zwei als Hauptgericht ergab einen spannenden Eindruck in teils unbekannte Geschmackswelten. Auch die anderen Speisen waren sehr gut. Allein die Trüffelcreme mit einer Art Pommes, ein Gedicht! Preise gehoben, aber völlig berechtigt. Super Erlebnis, wir kommen wieder!

We only had a sweet dessert, coffee and beer. Everything was very tasty, but I think the prices are a bit too high (€4.30 for a 0.3 draft beer), so I deducted one star

Every year when I'm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, I go to the torch garden. Great ambience, modern furnishings with very interesting accessories. I think that says it all. The food is excellent and the staff is super, super nice. Breakfast right by the river in the sun, what could be nicer.

Ein perfekter Aufenthalt ! Sehr schönes Hotel / Familienunternehmen mit zentraler Lage. Absolut zu empfehlen ist das Frühstück und das Restaurant, wir waren kulinarisch begeistert ! Service super freundlich, Hotel sehr sauber und gepflegt. Wir kommen sicher wieder. Hatten den Bärenwald in Müritz besucht und sind mit unserem Hund angereist.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal im Restaurant Fackelgarten, ein sehr großes Lob an die Bedienung, sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Essen war für uns 5 Sterne +++++++, wir kommen gerne wieder.
