Very bad experience When I ordered, I said I wanted a Schäufele and was served Wiener Schnitzel. After confirming with the clerk, he told me categorically that this was Schäufele. I even showed him the correct picture of Schäufele, and he told me that it was another dish on the menu. The meat dishes are excellent, unfortunately this does not apply to the vegetarian dishes. The celery schnitzel and the baked brie were inedible, the salad that came with it had numerous brown spots and was generally not fresh. The dressing isn't good either. Unfortunately for vegetarians we only recommend the fries, which are really very tasty. The service staff is friendly and on the ball, but didn't want to know why all of the vegetarian dishes had been returned. What I would like to give credit to the service is that we still got our reserved table, even though we were 30 minutes late due to traffic. When we called again about this, we were told that it wasn't a problem and that the table would still be reserved for us.

Unfortunately, that was a bad recommendation from friends...we were there during the week. I had made a reservation, but I could have saved the reservation since there wasn't really much going on. The selection of different dishes is really manageable and small, unfortunately my food was very salty and that of the others was mediocre. As a little consolation for the over-salted food, we were given a short meal on the house, which was again a nice gesture. The location of the restaurant is really nice, you have a nice elevated view over Nuremberg, the staff was also friendly and quick to serve and clear away, but since the food wasn't convincing, we probably won't come back. You can definitely recommend it for a beer on the terrace, but nothing more.

The waitress got me 2 out of 3 things wrong, I was also rather disappointed with the taste, but the prices are okay. It's also quite nice to sit there.

A dusty, damp and sweaty feel to the restaurant knocked home the fact this is most likely a tourist trap. I say most likely because we didn’t even get seated! I booked the restaurant (more of a pub) for 8pm but due to the traffic from the convention in town we were 13 mins late. Despite me phoning while in the taxi at 7.55 saying we were going to be 15 mins, an absolute horrible and sassy waiter cancelled our booking in front of us since we were a couple minutes late. After seeing multiple empty table, he refused to even serve us and then essentially told us he didn’t want us there because we were late. We went down the road and a lovely Italian restaurant called Muro, who accepted us despite being full - that’s a true restaurant

What an absolutely rude disgusting place. Absolutely do not go to this place. Rude arrogant staff. Smells damp Absolutely avoid. Food looked awful but we didn’t even get to eat as they gave our reservation away with a snarky smile as we were a few minutes late even though there were spare tables. Apparently nothing they can do….well I tell you what potential customers can do …and that’s take your business elsewhere . The rest of of Nuremberg islovely. This is the absolute opposite

Just the most rude reception at any restaurant we have had . We were running late because the town traffic was terrible and our taxi was not able to move . We rang and said we would be late . On arrival were told the booking was cancelled. Not because they were busy just because we were late . I have to say on arrival the cancellation was an absolute relief. The restaurant is damp and smells of old oil . Please do yourself a favour and avoid this .

Just had a drink here after climbing to the castle. Service was great.

Big loser. The children ordered a children's steak with fries. The fries smelled of burnt oil, the schnitzel had a strong taste of rancid oil, the meat smelled, it was strongly stale... I had a wurst with sauerkraut, quite ok, I just had to change the bread for the old, hard and moldy one they brought me . The beer goulash was ok. Overall thumbs down.

A lot of beers to try from. Prices are moderate. I was surprised. This place is the heart of Nürnberg. Nice walk from there up the castle. Enjoy the view across okd town.

Wir hatten den Geheimtipp des Lokals, das Burgwächter Schäuferl. Es war butterweich, saftig und knusprig. Also sehr geschmackvoll. Auch Soße und Salat (ein Extra auf Vorschlag der Bedienung , da ich kein Sauerkraut vertrage) top. Besonders herauszuheben waren auch die sehr freundliche Bedienung, die "echte Nürnbergerin" und der Herr hinterm Tresen, "der Chiemseer". Solchen Service würde man sich gern immer wünschen. Kurz: sehr gutes Essen mit perfektem Service!

This restaurant is the best I have ever tasted in the city. What I particularly loved was the pork, where there was crispy skin along with the delicious sauce.

The guest room is comfortably furnished and the staff was really nice. The menu contains many regional dishes at really good prices. The portions are very generous.

Rustikale Wirtschaft direkt unterhalb der Nürnberger Burg. Das Essen ist typisch fränkisch. Mein Schäuferle war kross und echt lecker. Die Schnitzel sind riesig und schmecken ebenfalls sehr gut. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ein sehr schöner Ort um sich nach dem besichtigen der Burg ein Getränk zu genehmigen. Zum essen kann ich leider nichts sagen.

Wir waren Mitte Dezember da und saßen draußen. War sehr schön, essen haben wir nicht probiert, Bier war lecken, man musste nur Geduld haben, bis es ankam.

Junges Personal dementsprechend keine Berührungsängste, sehr aufgeschlossen gegenüber Fremden, das Essen war auch gut und reichlich, preislich leicht teurer als anders wo aber es lohnt sich, jetzt im Winter wenigen sitze frei im Sommer kann man bequem draußen sitzen und den Blick auf die Kaiserburg genießen!

(사진3) 다른 식당에 가려했는데 그 가게가 만석이라 이 가게에 오게 됐어요. 생맥주 3종류를 시켰는데 모두 맛있었습니다. 번역기를 돌려보니 양조장에서 만든 맥주 같았는데 맛있었어요. 돼지 어깨고기 요리를 굉장히 추천해요. 같은 바삭하고 속은 촉촉하며 굉장히 부드러웠습니다. 칼질이 필요 없었어요. 언니들이랑 감탄하며 먹었네요. 소세지도 맛있었습니다! 직원분들이 굉장히 친절했어요! 독일어를 못하는 제게 친절히 영어로 설명해주었어요. 그리고 메뉴에 대해 궁금한게 있으면 물어보라고 웃으며 안내해줬습니다. 인종차별도 전혀 없고 굉장히 친절해서 기분이 좋았어요. 음식은 여자 3명이서 돼지어깨요리+소세지9개+사이드 샐러드 +맥주3잔+병맥주 1잔+미니 맥주 1잔+디저트를 먹었는데 세명 모두 배가 터지도록 배불렀어요. 이렇게 먹고 총 56.50유로가 나왔습니다 우연히 오게 된 식당인데 너무나도 친절한 직원들과 맛있는 음식 덕분에 만족스러운 새해 첫날 저녁 식사를 할 수 있었어요! 뉘른베르크에 오신다면 꼭 추천해드려요

Sat down for some lunch here yesterday, it was wonderful! The goulash was great, tasted like the holidays. Others had the sampler of 3 different sausages, which were all excellent, as well. Our server spoke perfect English and was super helpful when we had questions about the menu. Highly recommend!

Meiner Meinung nach leider nicht zu empfehlen! Die Bedienung ist sehr nett - deshalb 3 Sterne! Das Essen leider nicht wirklich gut! Der Schweinsbraten war verkocht (glich eher Pulled Pork - nur nicht knusprig) und in weißer Pilzsauce ertränkt! Das Schäufele war sehr trocken und mit einer sehr wässrigen Soße serviert. Knödel und Sauerkraut waren ok. Unsere Bekannten hatten das Biergulasch - das war ganz ok aber auch nichts besonderes! Da haben wir schon viel viel besser gegessen! Die Preise sind ok - das Bier war gut - das Ambiente ist auch nett aber es ist eng dort! Vielleicht sollte man überlegen einen Koch einzustellen!

Essen war sehr lecker, die Bedienung freundlich, das Ambiente toll. Leider hat ein Kollege eine Geflügelunverträglichkeit. Das Schnitzel Wiener Art war nicht gekennzeichnet. Das Personal hat dann aber weder das Essen noch sein Bier berechnet.

Food was good. The staff were a bit rude and refused to serve tap water to a kid despite us all ordering main meals and other drinks. Just go around the corner to Hexenhäusle where they serve the same food for the same price with far better service and atmosphere.

Das Ambiente und die Lage war das einzig angenehme am Restaurant. Das Essen war zwar nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht gut. Ich würde es nicht meinen Freunden und Familie empfehlen.

Urigen Restaurant direkt unter der Burg

Super leckeres Essen und toller Service. Das Schäufele war sehr zart und die BratwurstVariation war mal eine tolle Abwechslung.

Wir kehren hier immer wieder, über die Jahre, ein, scheinbar unterwechselnden Besitzern, wir mögen es aufgrund der Lage zur Burg, der Burg typischen ähnlichen Einrichtung dem Ambiente, und das Essen hat auch gepasst. Wir empfehlen, und dieses ist übrigens auch Gesetz eine allergikerkarte auch in der Wintersaison vorrätig zu haben. Dies führt zu einem Punktabzug, dass die hierdurch erforderliche Änderungen mit 2 € berechnet wurde, um die bedenklichen Spätzle gegen Pommes zu tauschen habe ich entsprechend beim Trinkgeld quittiert, dies nur am Rande.

Im rustikalen Ambiente werden lokale deutsche Speisen angeboten. Zur Vorspeise gab es eine Leberknödel Suppe, 5 Sterne, leider war das Brot hierzu aber recht trocken. Die Hauptspeise bestand aus 12 Nürnberger Rostbratwürsten 4.5 Sterne. Das Gulasch der Kollegen war nur durchschnittlich. Die gute Auswahl an Bieren hat das Manko aber wieder gut gemacht. Ein Besuch ist zu Empfehlen 👍

Located right by the Kaiserburg - and I mean, right by the Kaiserburg, in a blink-and-you-miss-it kind of way, this quaint little restaurant serves up tradition, both in the decor and food. Had the small sausage links that Nuremburg is famous for. Portion size was just right - not too big and not too small. Food was ok. Dessert was delicious. Service was friendly, and staff speak English. Prices were affordable.

I have been here once or twice prior in 2009 and then 2011. Nothing at all had wavered for my visit in July 2022. I lived in the area a number of years for business, but much of my German had atrophied in the time since, but do not despair -- the kind folks here speak excellent English and are only happy to help. This place takes the guess-work out -- classic Bavarian food and reasonable prices. They even serve the classic Bamberger smoked beer here aside from Nuremberg offerings, which is not always common between city beer cultures. A beautiful place and enjoyable view. My memory brought me back here, but the food and people will cause me to return next my travels cause me to venture to Bavaria. Fully recommend.

Das Personal war sowohl bei der Reservierung als auch im Service super nett, Änderungswünsche waren überhaupt kein Problem! Wir kommen gerne wieder!
