A super friendly team and fantastic food. The Wiener Schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad is an absolute must-try! We always love going back to Austria. P.S. And by the way, they serve Almdudler in glass bottles – you can't find a better ski lodge atmosphere in Berlin!

4 PM. We waited half an hour for service. They didn't even take our drink order. The waiters seem to think they're pretty cool.

The schnitzel was incredibly delicious... and the Spätzle were too, of course...

To start with the positives: The service was truly excellent: quick and friendly, even though the place was packed. The atmosphere is okay and reminiscent of a 90s pub, without being particularly charming. We were rather disappointed with both the food and the wine. €36 for a dry leg of pork and €45 for a bottle of truly boring Riesling – even in the Bergmannkiez neighborhood, that's too expensive for me to come back.

Cozy restaurant The food was great, the Wiener Schnitzel was just as it should be, and the duck breast was also excellent. The Kaiserschmarrn was a bit disappointing.

Disappointing! Very poor value for money. The goulash was served with only three pieces of meat, which were almost tough, and two small dumplings for almost €30… absolutely unjustified. And with the other dishes, the side dishes weren't even served, but were still charged. It was also unpleasant, as it was very cold inside. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it!

Definitely not the right place for your special day. Everyone was very nice and helpful. However, after an hour's wait, they brought me something completely different from what I ordered. The worst part was when I asked for a new dish – they complained about how difficult it was for the kitchen because of all the other orders. That was quite surprising. Luckily, my friends at the table shared their food with me, so I didn't go hungry. They apologized with a dessert and a personal word.

Large Portions, but tired Ambiance My visit to Restaurant Austria this evening left me with rather mixed impressions. On the positive side, we were seated without a reservation on a busy Advent evening, which was appreciated. The service was quick both in taking our order and bringing the food. We ordered goulash, a schnitzel, a couple of beers, dessert, and coffee. The goulash was not bad, the schnitzel was notably large in portion, and the dessert was generous as well. However, the overall experience felt incomplete and somewhat lacking. Perhaps Austrian cuisine is simply not to my personal taste, but I also felt the atmosphere was not particularly comfortable. While many praise this restaurant, I found the prices to be somewhat inflated for what was offered. The main drawback, in my opinion, is the interior. To put it mildly, it feels tired. One specific detail that caught my eye: a picture had been removed from the wall, but the lonely nails were left in plain sight, staring blankly at the guests. Such a small, neglected detail unfortunately contributes to a feeling of inattentiveness and diminishes the overall ambiance. In conclusion: decent portions and efficient service, but the value for money and the worn-out atmosphere didn’t live up to the hype for me.

Great food and very friendly staff who keep an eye on everything.

We held our Christmas party there. We were accommodated in a separate room, which we really liked. We had our own dedicated server who was always attentive to our colleagues' needs at just the right moment, never intrusive, and always had a kind word for everyone. It was a wonderful evening for all of us. Thank you! We've already expressed a desire to hold our next Christmas party with you again.

Aside from the superb food and ambiance, we enjoyed excellent service from the Franconian waitress – a welcome change in the rather service-averse Berlin! Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Found this place by accident and I'm so glad I stumbled onto this restaurant. I was a solo traveler and they were so welcoming right when I walked in the door. The lady waitresses were so nice and helpful. Their food portions are wonderful and the food is phenomenal and professionally done. I would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Burlin.

We had lunch at the restaurant and were very satisfied. The food could have come straight from Austria. The quality was excellent: the "Backhendl" (fried chicken) was particularly outstanding. The original Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) was also delicious. The service was very friendly, and the price-performance ratio was excellent.

A rustic-modern restaurant, currently very popular and bustling. The classic dish is, of course, the plate-sized Wiener Schnitzel (veal schnitzel) with warm bacon potato salad. 🤤

In short, for me, this is the best Wiener Schnitzel outside of Vienna, although there are other typical Austrian dishes on the menu. The older, somewhat effeminate waiter has been there forever, always a bit bitchy and snappy, but somehow we've gotten used to it. The prices are perfectly reasonable; I would definitely reserve a table to avoid disappointment. Cozy atmosphere and really good food in a typical atmosphere.

On October 13th, I went to your restaurant with a friend. The food was good, but the bartender's behavior and professionalism are the main points. After sitting at the table for an extended period, we were asked to vacate. There were no visible signs of a reservation, and we weren't informed at the beginning that the table was reserved. We run a French restaurant (bistro) here in the Bergmannkiez district - Le Pas Normal - and we find your bartender's behavior inappropriate and disrespectful. After all, you're always someone's customer.

The restaurant is everything but not pretty, but somehow it is the ugly beautiful look that immediately sets your expectations as to what you going to get. A true Austrian experience. True, the service could be faster in the first instance it took about 10 minutes to get the first drink, but it was smooth sailing from there. The order was basic: Beer, Schnitzel and potato salad. What you get is anything but basic. The biggest schnitzel you can get, soft like butter, not oily but juicy. The absolute highlight is the potato salad - better than in any restaurant in Vienna I tried. Bier is good. Price range is matching the quality and quantity.

Staff where super friendly at this busy Austrian restaurant in Berlin. Everything from schnitzel to goulash is available. Excellent for groups of people. Booking is recommended due to how busy it is at weekend. Accepting guests after 22 which is unusual in many restaurants but shows that they are happy to look after their clients. Recommended!

I had a VERY good Wiener Schnitzel with two side salads. The atmosphere in the restaurant was as good as the food, and the service was really friendly. Highly recommended!

An absolutely fantastic restaurant! From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. The service was attentive, friendly, and simply perfect; you can tell the passion they put into their work. The food was a dream: every dish was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The dessert was a real highlight! The ambiance is also wonderfully stylish, cozy, and inviting. One could say that the food was certainly of authentic Austrian quality. The prices were even significantly higher in some cases. However, the service was more in keeping with the attentiveness typical of the region and therefore had little in common with the service, attentiveness, and courtesy one expects in Austria. Furthermore, the noise level caused by the staff repeatedly clearing away the cutlery was shockingly insensitive to both the guests and the ambiance. And if you've made a reservation (like we did), you expect to get a better seat, not a table for two crammed into a corner. Our visit was on the evening of September 21, 2025. Receipts and credit card statements are available (just to dispel any possible misconceptions in advance).

We ordered 2 Schnitzel, one regular and one vegan. In both, the cucumber salad and the potato salad were too sugary (why should salad be sweet?). The regular Schnitzel was fine, the vegan one was a joke (it tasted and looked like vegan schnitzel from Aldi - clearly not homemade). So the food experience was disappointing

For me, this is the best schnitzel restaurant in Berlin. The other dishes are also highly recommended.

I rarely eat meat, but the schnitzel was really delicious. The service could have been a bit more cordial. They snarled at us in their Berlin accent. I don't find that funny.

Nothing like what we remembered. The snitzel was just plain, too much batter and not enough meat. We asked for the dessert menu, and the sour-faced waiter told us they were closing. Anyway, we paid the bill and left. We won't be back.

We recently visited here for the second time and can confirm that it was worth it again. The food was delicious, and the dishes demonstrated good quality ingredients and preparation. It was a consistently positive experience. The attentive and pleasant service deserves special mention. The staff was friendly and professional, which made the visit very pleasant. You get good value for your money here. We can still recommend the restaurant.

On a wonderful Mother's Day Sunday in Berlin we had an excellent lunch with a Viennese veal schnitzel. The degree of browning on the Viennese veal schnitzel was perfect, as was the absolutely good taste. A portion of potato salad and cucumber salad was also served. There was also a portion of cranberries...we'll definitely be back, we can recommend Austria at any time

Were there late at night and just got something to eat. Very nice, very tasty - meat and vegan schnitzel. We tasted our way through a selection of classic dishes - each one a hit. The juice goulash was wonderfully tender, the bread dumplings had a perfect consistency and an excellent taste. The cheese spaetzle was a real highlight – creamy, spicy, and the fried onions on top were simply heavenly! The Wienerschnitzel, both small and large, was exactly as it should be: wonderfully thin, fried golden brown and still juicy. We were also impressed by the ambience: rustic and lovingly furnished in an old Austrian style, with beautiful paintings and traditional wooden decorations that immediately convey a warm, cozy feeling. We would also like to particularly emphasize the service: The waitress was very friendly and attentive, always there to help without being intrusive - a real plus! An all-round successful visit – we will definitely come back!

Stopped by spontaneously last Sunday. Courteous service and a great location. Definitely a recommendation to stop by on Sunday when there is a flea market - it gives you an extra dose of flair. What unfortunately didn't quite fit into the picture was the schnitzel. Mine was pretty stringy and the side dishes were pretty unspectacular too. Price performance for the Viennese schnitzel is not the best for me - not a €28 experience... The vegetarian schnitzel and the children's portion were decent and tasted very good (hence 4 stars). Next time I visit I will try a different dish.

Went there for breakfast today. 24 euros for breakfast with 2 coffees extra. The breakfast price was not justified. Were very disappointed. You should still work in it.

I’ve been to Berlin a couple of times, and each time I’ve visited I must come back to this place for a delicious and fulfilling experience! Hands down the best schnitzel in Berlin! We also had the pumpkin soup which was top notch! The portions are larger than what you would expect, which is amazing to me! Would definitely recommend!

I've been to Austria countless times and it always tastes fantastic. On our last visit there were six of us, four of us ordered the delicious Wiener Schnitzel. Without asking, we were served potato and cucumber salad as well as cranberries in a bowl to share. Unfortunately, far too little, especially if you know the individual portions from previous visits. It would have been desirable to first ask whether it would be shared and after criticizing the waiter, one could have reacted differently and perhaps offered a small “adjusted” helping instead of pointing out the additional costs.

We have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed eating here. The schnitzel in particular was a safe choice for us, which was previously served with its own portion of cucumber salad and potato salad. This time, however, there was a change: Instead of everyone getting their own side dish, we were served a shared bowl of cucumber salad and a bowl of potato salad for four people. This means that the quantity is smaller compared to before. In addition, everyone eats different amounts, so individual portioning would have been more pleasant. It would have been nice if this change had been communicated beforehand or if people had had a choice. Otherwise, the food was delicious as usual, but we hope that the restaurant might reconsider this point.

Six of us were rudely rejected after the waiter and waitress briefly discussed whether they would “let us in or not”. Some of us spoke English and Turkish. The restaurant was half empty, it was the afternoon. Seems racist to me!
