Nice restaurant, super delicious food: the vegan schnitzel was also great, the Kaiserschmarrn was better than in many restaurants in Austria. The schnapps (old wild raspberry and old plum) was incredible! I can only recommend it

Fast and good! We were seated early and the food was on the table quickly after we ordered. Very satisfying. The schnitzel is highly recommended and the service is also attentive and friendly. Sure, the location is a bit old, but it still has its charm. We would be happy to come back at any time.

The schnitzel and the side salad are very tasty! I find the spinach dumplings, unfortunately and mind you without a side salad, too expensive at €16. It's also a shame that there are hardly any children's meals or portions. We found the young waitress to be rather rude and moody. The other service staff were very nice.

At first I thought the small schnitzel wasn't enough because there was only a small salad with it and that was awesome! But together with the beer it was quite a lot. For me, less meat and more cucumber salad would have been even better. All in all, highly recommended

My favorite Austrian restaurant in Berlin. An institution in the Bergmannkiez. This place has been around forever. I love to sit outside in summer as well as inside in Winter. Very cosy , wooden atmosphere. Service is good and the portions huge. I think I always go for the traditional Wiener Schnitzel. But I always get a different appetizer. I was never disappointed. Prices are ok too.

The schnitzel was good. The price is a bit higher. I think it's a shame that there are also overpriced drinks on top.

But if you want to eat a pork schnitzel, you can also enjoy this one. Our choice for the first time was both a pork schnitzel and an original Wienerschnitzel with a fried egg, at my special request. There was also a Lower Austrian potato salad. Everything together tasted really good, it was very well tempered and simply delicious, highly recommended. What struck us, as well as those sitting next to us, was that the menu wasn't overloaded with dishes. The dessert is sure to attract one or two connoisseurs. Simple and very good. You should know what you get there for, not a huge selection, but you don't need more than that. We tried the original Wiener Schnitzel which was excellent, top-notch. And the prices are fair. Solid choice if you have been fed up with all the vegan-fusion-new age Berlin restaurants and you want something simple but excellent at the same time. Well done

Unfortunately I was disappointed with the food. I've wanted to go to the restaurant for a long time and was really looking forward to the visit. But my char was overcooked and the pasta was also much too soft. Service and ambience were good, maybe the chef had a bad day

Can’t say about other dishes but the Wiener schnitzel with asparagus (seasonal menu) was delicious, and so was the red wine they suggest pairing with it! We got recommended by friends as “the place” to try wiener schnitzel in Berlin and it didn’t disappoint… Portions are also HUGE, even when you order the “small size”.

Food was tasty and service was good. Unfortunately we found the prices a bit high. For example, a portion of asparagus around 20 euros plus schnitzel around 40 euros seems a bit excessive to me. I “just” ate Wiener Schnitzel for about 25 euros. The schnitzel was nice and big and I was full. My friends also had cheese spaetzel and goulash, all of which were delicious. Unfortunately the goulash portion was a bit small. The beer was good 👍🏽 We sat outside. The construction of the parasol was not very sophisticated as it kept falling over. We ended up folding it up and putting it in the corner.

The waiters are friendly but hectic. The salad was somehow bitter. The dressing good. The schnitzel was good, although the cheese spaetzle was too little for the price and not tasty enough (the cheese was homemade). Bottom line: you can leave it out - unfortunately.

I had expected more from an Austrian restaurant. Unfortunately the food was just average. The waitress spoke to us in English. The mixed drinks ordered after the meal took a very long time and a reminder every now and then. The other waiter got upset with his colleagues because they asked for a Kaiserschmarrn around 9:45 p.m./10 p.m. This behavior spoiled our appetite for it, so we immediately canceled the order, which had not yet been passed on. All of this motivated us not to spend the whole evening there, not to order any more mixed drinks, to pay promptly and to leave. It goes without saying that the waiter's behavior affected our entire bill and our tips. It's a shame, it was my first and last time there.

Saturday, 5 p.m.: the restaurant is half full, but all the free tables have 'reserved' signs on them. The slightly affected and a bit too arrogant 'reception committee' acted as if it is a blessing to get a table without a reservation (BTW: by the time we left, 1/3 of the tables were still empty). The Wiener Schnitzel was good, the Beelitz asparagus is definitely not their core competence. Stiegl beer is delicious as always, the apple strudel is too close to convenience. Conclusion: as a Berliner, you only go here with 'out-of-town' visitors if they really want to try original Wiener Schnitzel.

Four of us had reserved. Waiter very friendly. Austrian rustic atmosphere. Whether antlers absolutely have to hang...mine doesn't. Very beautiful flowers on the tables. Ordering pleasant. Prices high. Food came after about 20 minutes. Delicious Austria Schwarzbier. I had venison goulash, very good, a bit juniper and laurel heavy, but that's how I like it. The meat was unfortunately a bit dry, but soft. For my "blackheads", the Viennese veal schnitzel was excellent, the asparagus was good, the venison sausage was delicious, and the salad and potato salad were tasty. Dessert Kaiserschmarn large, enough for 3 as requested. No music in the room, I thought that was good, the toilet was clean. If it weren't for the high price, I would come again. Paid 150 euros for the four of us with drinks and espresso and dessert.

Hectic waiters, caught in the “International Blues” of the German-English word goulash. The onion roast was firm, the green beans were too salty, and the Wiener schnitzel also needed good chewing tools. The fried chicken is delicious, but the Kasspatzen is more than neutral. You can't do anything for the delicious Stiegl beer. The discussion about dessert and the right time could have been avoided and the house music as the background is as appropriate as fish rolls at the Austrian restaurant. Overall average... just lost in the hip Bergmann neighborhood.

After a long day my son and I fancied schnitzel and walked in to Austria at 17.15 and asked for a table for two, the barman genuinely shouted ‘Guten Tag’ at me as if I was a toddler for not greeting them extra formally. Admonished, embarrassed, I thought let it slide he’s probably got his own problems…the place was dead but they made the usual fuss of reviewing the bookings…finally we were nonchalantly shown to two tables one by the bogs, one next to a group. We sat at the one next to a group and a lady in the group told us we can’t sit there because her elderly mother needs access. Ok. Tried the table by the bogs for one second and walked out. Honestly? Berlin service: we the customer are not the enemy! I was genuinely upset by the welcome and the lack of giving any sh!t about a walk-in that there was no way I was going to leave my money there. We went across the road to the Markthalle and had a fabulous steak where were treated like princes for a fraction of the cost in a far better atmosphere. Skip this place it’s resting on its laurels.

The service is great and you don't have to wait long for your food. The price/performance ratio is okay. The potato and cucumber salad with the schnitzel has a lot of room for improvement in terms of seasoning, etc. Unusual but good a mixed set in rosé, which is usually made as a white wine. The ambience offers everything from a rustic tavern to a salon with set tables.

We've been really craving authentic Austrian food over the last few days, so we decided on this restaurant. While the starters were visually and tastefully convincing, the Wiener Schnitzel really irritated us because it arrived within 3 minutes of ordering. Unfortunately there was no seasoning at all, not even the breading. The schnitzel only tasted of darker fried fat, which my stomach unfortunately acknowledged later. The cranberry jam served with it was rather sticky and not very fruity and we didn't like it much in combination. The Kaiserschmarren was more like a torn cake base and didn't taste what I expected, but that's subjective anyway. During the main course and dessert, no one asked why there was so much left on the plate. Ultimately a mixed visit, but okay.

Danger! I recommend checking the amount entered by the waitress when paying by card! For me she once added 10 euros even though I had already included a generous tip. Unfortunately, I have to assume that it was intentional, as it couldn't have been a typo (the 6 and 7 are not next to each other on the keypad) and I wasn't offered a receipt. Unfortunately, I only noticed the whole thing when I got home and looked at my bank statement. Unfortunately, that was the last time Austria saw me...what a shame!

Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und urig. Der Service ist aufmerksam und schnell. Selbst wenn nicht alle Tische im Nebengastraum besetzt sind, ist es recht laut. Die Frittatensuppe war, wie sonst so oft, nicht versalzen dafür lauwarm (immerhin 7 €). Das Schnitzel "Wiener Art" war ganz in Ordnung, aber nicht für den Preis (22 €). Leider war das kleine Kalbsschnitzel knorpelig und hart (22 €). Wir waren doch enttäuscht. Wir gehen demnächst nach nebenan!

Unfortunately, vegan schnitzels are served here, which have nothing to do with the expected quality. They look like a finished product, but are extremely expensive.

For 24 years, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the beginning of March with a meal at Austria - always on the "Sissi bench" in the corner. Reservations were always possible without any problems. Until yesterday. We wanted to book a table for our silver wedding anniversary and were harshly told on the phone that it was unfortunately no longer possible to reserve a specific table. "But you'll definitely get a nice one." “But we would like to have this one.” "Unfortunately we don't accept reservations for specific tables. I said you'll definitely get a nice one." "And I said: We would like to have the Sissi bench." "Unfortunately that's not possible. I can't promise you that you'll get it." Well then not. We also have a very good Italian restaurant right around the corner. EDIT: Wrong reaction. The correct answer would have been: "We apologize for the unprofessional behavior of our employee. Please contact us again. Of course, we will be happy to reserve the desired table for you and look forward to your visit." With this in mind: And goodbye Austria.

The onion roast was very tender, generous in size and extremely tasty. The vegetarian schnitzel was also extremely good, as was the pumpkin cream soup. We recommend.

I would definitely recommend here. First of all, the food was delicious. We wanted to have a wine next to our meal but I was so lazy to pick one. The service person guided us and helped us to choose the correct wine. Another very positive thing in this restaurant is the staff. They were very polite and friendly. They make you forget that you're in Berlin for a moment with their warm attitude :)

I was looking for shnitzel, i found it there ! very good beer as well, it was quiet perfect.. waiter adorable.. nice location with beautiful wooden fourniture.. i’ll go back there for sure to test the menu again!! ( i’m french and i’m not joking with food)

Venison goulash with roots and dumplings is not recommended. Dumplings were hard and difficult to cut, the roots consisted of two small wedges of carrots and the meat tasted bland. The large Kaiserschmarrn was delicious and fluffy. Unfortunately, it was taken away from us again without notice, when there was still a quarter on the plate that we wanted to share with the last glass of wine. We used to eat schnitzel here very well and without any complaints. A pity! That's it for now with Austria.

Gutes Restaurant mit wirklich leckerem Essen! Dafür dauert es ein paar Minuten. Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Eine kleine Sache gibt es aber zu verbessern: man sollte dem Gast nicht gleich unterstellen, er hätte falsch reserviert, wenn der Kellner den Namen in der Liste nicht sofort findet.

In larger groups you only get a limited menu which they dont tell you about until you're there. The food was pretty god, the choice of drinks other than wine was lacking. When we came in there was a lot of noise like in a cantina. In the limited menu there were barely any halal options. Overall a passable experience.

An und für sich ist das Austria ein guter Anfang für das, was man landläufig meint, was österreichische Küche ist. Mir persönlich hat an der Stelle ein Bier mit Charakter gefehlt und die Auswahl an Rösti, die man an den österreichischen Autobahnen zumindest immer wieder sieht. Das Hausbier ist sehr an seiner Umgebung angepasst und das Goldkron ist für seinen Geschmack eine Spur zu teuer, wenn man für eine halbe 6€ bezahlt. Das Ambiente dagegen passte soweit, wenn man sich rein auf die Örtlichkeiten bezieht. Rustikal eingerichtet, auf maximale Ausnutzung von Tischen hin ausgelegt, saubere Toiletten. Was für mich den Stimmungskiller darstellte war die "Musik", die sehr nervtötend und laut aufgelegt war und den hippen Anspruch an Berlin Kreuzberg treffen wollte. Nun kann man weiß Gott nicht verlangen, dass es einem wie in Obermenzing in einer Wirtschaft passiert, dass die Opas kommen, Bier trinken, Karten spielen und dann das Quetschakkordeon rausholen und das ganze Lokal (aufs Vorzüglichste!) unterhalten, wenn man das Konzept zu Ende denkt, was das Austria anbieten will, dann sollte man zumindest grob diese Richtung einschlagen. Das Essen selbst war gut: Ich hatte einen Brotkorb mit Dips (Brezn gibs nicht...ja, richtig gehört) und das Jausenbrettl. Man kann also durchaus festhalten, dass man im grundsätzlichen gut essen gehen kann im Austria, wenn man damit klar kommt, dass das Lokal an sein Publikum in der Region angepasst ist, was schade ist und ebenso damit klar kommt, dass die Berliner Schnauze beim Service durchaus mit dazu gehört, was mich mitunter genervt hat...und nein, es ist mir vollkommen egal, auf was ich zeige: Zuhören reicht. Und wenn ich ein großes dunkles Bier bestellen möchte, dann ist das entscheidend und nicht das, worauf ich zeige. Zusammengefasst kann man also das Austria wie folgt zusammenfassen: Hipper-Touri-Ösi mit guter Speisenqualität und mangelnden Parkplätzen. Wenn man einen findet: Plant 10€ Parkgebühren ein für 2h.

Wiener Schnitzel kann man hier 😋 Obwohl die Portion schon ziemlich groß war, haben wir uns noch einen Kaiserschmarrn zum Nachtisch gegönnt - und wurden auch hier nicht enttäuscht. Sehr lecker!

Das Austria ist seit einigen Jahren Anlaufpunkt für unser Weihnachtsessen mit Freunden und Familie gewesen. Leider hat beim letzten Besuch irgendwie so gar nichts gepasst. Der reservierte Tisch war zur bestellten Zeit noch voll besetzt (inkl. voller Gläser). Die Bedienung wirkte irgendwie Überfordert und abwesend. Eine unserer Freunde hat Glutenunverträglichkeit. Auf die Frage, welche Gerichte Gluten enthalten, hat sie wortlos die Zutatenliste erhalten. Nach intensiverer Nachfrage kam dann doch noch der Koch... Die bestellte Rinderbouillon war stark versalzen und musste verdünnt werden. Die Spinatknödel wurden kalt serviert. Den leckeren Glühwein wie in den Vorjahren gab's auch nicht. Klingt schwer nach einem Montagsessen aber zumindest hätte man eine Entschuldigung erwarten dürfen - leider auch hier Fehlanzeige! Fazit: Schade aber das war es für uns...

Leider hat dieser Laden, in den ich früher gerne und regelmäßig gegangen bin, die besten Zeiten hinter sich was die Qualität des Essens und erst Recht des Services angeht. Die Schnitzel sind durch die dicke und feste Panade nicht mehr lecker. Schade.

Leider etwas zu stressig wirkende Mitarbeiter. Wenn man eine Summe X auf den Tisch legt, kann man gerne danach noch was aufs Haus wie Espresso oder Marillenbrand anbieten. Die Begrüßung viel auch deutlich unterkühlt aus. Die Suppe schmeckte schlecht. Die Schnitzel, Käsespätzle und der Tatar waren hervorragend hingegen. Ich denke es ist Luft nach oben da.

Es hat uns nicht gut gefallen. Leider war das Essen nicht so wie wir es uns gedacht hätten. Die Bedienung war mit allem etwas Überfordert. Wir mussten ca 1 Stunde auf das Essen warten, einige Getränke kamen nach dem Essen 🙄was wir dann nicht mehr wollten. Und es war recht kühl im Gastraum. Schade 😢

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Speisen und Service 1+ mit Sternchen. Am Besten den Tisch vorbestellen,zumindest am Wochenende.
