A very pleasant restaurant with nice service, the portions are huge, so we had half of them packed home.

We just went for a plate of Kaiserschmarrn and it was a delight! Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The plum sauce was also great with it. The people here are also very warm. Would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant gets filled up quite soon.

For me, as an Italian, a great experience. Very nice place, good food (not very good), fast and friendly service.

We were guests here this evening. The first impression is of course elegant, unfortunately it falls apart when you take a closer look. It starts with the service, which was apparently extremely focused on getting us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. So it took less than 3 minutes after receiving the card to ask what you wanted to eat. Our order was on the table within 5 minutes. It wasn't until later that I realized why things happened so quickly for us and not for others. The wine list is large - but there was no wine advice and so we got a €40 bottle that costs eight euros on the normal market. So good margin. Here, too, we felt extremely rushed because the wine was being poured almost every minute so that the bottle ran out quickly. After a while a very large group of guests came and were seated at a large table behind us and then we realized why we were being pushed so hard. So there weren't enough tables for the group and it was probably speculated that they could add our table. Overall, very disappointing - the volume increased with the group to train station level. The food was okay but not appropriate for the price, the service was as described, poorly informed and rather stressful. Conclusion: a lot of intentions and not a lot of skills - you can certainly eat better in Berlin.

Abbiamo scelto questo ristorante perché volevamo mangiare una snitzelt fatta bene e ho letto che era uno dei ristoranti consigliati. Bene, posso dire che oltre ad aver mangiato un ottima carne, la location è davvero carina. Anche la gente sembrava molto per bene, non è uno dei classici ristoranti per turisti. Inoltre la piacevole sorpresa è il proprietario italiano, con cui abbiamo potuto scambiare 2 parole. Unica nota dolente , non meno importante è che nel menu c'era scritto il prezzo di 28 € per il piatto ordinato , nello scontrino era 34€ oltre che , credo erroneamente, anziché scontrinare 2 piatti ne sono stati caricati 3! Abbiamo subito reclamato e ci hanno stornato la cifra dovuta. Quindi magari fate attenzione , ripeto spero e credo non sia stato fatto per speculare! Non credo ne abbiano bisogno. Consiglio al proprietario di istallare qualche pannello fonoassorbente alle pareti o al tetto , perché quando il locale è pieno c'è tanto brusio! Per il resto lo consiglio vivamente alle persone che cercano ristoranti in cui si mangia di qualità e non siano turistici!

Overated restaurant... waiters are overworked... this restaurant, which was charming, is a victim of its own success. Really disappointing schnitzel (28,50€)are not minute cooked and we must pay 8.50€ for a simple side.

Amazing place with kind of fusion German cusine. You can feel climat and eat amazing food and drink good wines from region( wine from Bugrenland is amazing!). Place have climat inside. During winter fireplace is open! I recommend!!!

Nice restaurant, had reserved a table. Unfortunately "our" table was without a tablecloth. Very nice welcome and very good service. The boiled beef bouillon was actually very good, just a little too salty, but still excellent. Wiener Schnitzel was world class, (Borcherts is a joke), Cordon Blue was great, great cheese and ham. Great Austrian potato salad, perfect cucumber salad. We'll be back with anticipation :-)

I am very happy to have been here. The ambience was excellent as was the staff. The food was good, a bit too much rocket in the salad for my taste and the meat could have been more tough. Cocktail was 4/5. I would definitely like to come back.

So I imagined the Austrian ambience and service to be different. Small Kietz restaurant, certainly with good food, but tables are too close together, resulting in a very loud atmosphere, cloakroom in the toilet, not recommended, service strained and after paying in cash, with a good tip, would have liked a thank you with a small smile, with the higher ones prices, I was happy. Hello...I know differently.

Lovely, cosy restaurant with great service and amazing food. I don’t understand the negative reviews regarding the Vegan Schnitzel, as I found it really delicious!

We ordered goose here. Not only was the food beautifully packaged, it was easy to transport and tasted excellent! The portions were very large and everything was included at a fair price. The waiters were super nice when we picked us up and bought us a coffee. Really great! Thank you!

Courteous service and good schnitzel, but a bit thin and a bit expensive at €28 (without side dish). A small bowl of fried potatoes costs €6. The main hall gets quite loud when the narrow seating is full. Many details that are otherwise less experienced are taken into account here.

Very tasty dishes but the portion size for the vegan schnitzel is not filling - unfortunately it's a shame for the price.

We celebrated our 30th birthday at Jolesch with 25 people. The team was very nice and flexible with appointment changes and prepared the rented wine bar very nicely. The service was extremely nice and professional and the food was excellent. One of our absolute favorite restaurants in Berlin!

Very tasty in itself - unfortunately the vegan schnitzel was a flop. Taste ok, consistency: mud. It's kind of a shame that the prices for pumpkin seed oil in potato salad are extremely low. As a half-Austrian, I'm used to something different... It's a shame - but it's typically Austrian: anyone who doesn't eat meat is a second-class citizen. The ambience is nice, rustic and the service is in the upper quarter for Berlin standards. All the more annoying: we ate at the window and there was a draft. Bottom line: no recommendation for vegetarians.

Had a delicious meal at Jolesch. Austrian cuisine including large schnitzels. Jolesch is located in the east of Berlin. The environment also feels really dated. The restaurant is cozy and cozy. The quality is good. The prices are high.

I like this Restaurant’s atmosphere, and I’ve been here second time today, and I was hoping to enjoy a leisurely meal, but I was disappointed that the food was cleared away too quickly, making the experience feel rushed. I hope this can be improved in the future

A magnificent mix of warmth, enjoyment, brilliant service and excellent food.

When I was at Jolesch years ago, I thought it was good and was already looking forward to this time. I was even more pleased that they offer a vegetarian or vegan schnitzel. I thought I'd give this a try. When, after some waiting (and waiting, and waiting), the order was taken and then the food arrived, I was unfortunately disappointed. The breading was great, but the inside of the "schnitzel" was too thick, soggy, and salty. At €28 for this I expected better. The “real” schnitzel was ok but nothing great for €34. Combined with the annoyed, slow service, the whole experience was pretty unsatisfying. Guys, pick one of the two things and do at least that right. But if both don't work, you as a guest will feel like you've been taken for a ride.

I recently ordered a goose with side dishes from Jolesch for Christmas and was really pleasantly surprised. The food was perfectly packaged so it stayed cool and was easy to store. Preparation was extremely quick and easy - I didn't have to spend the whole evening in the kitchen. The taste was simply outstanding, especially the cranberry sauce, which was a real hit with my guests. All in all I was very happy with the order. My guests were equally impressed. I can only warmly recommend Jolesch!

Very cool basically. Eating like Christmas with one star deducted for the breast that was way too dry. Can happen. Club was great. Red and green cabbage too. Wine list is good without alternative. Service very mature, attentive and calm. A very successful evening with not quite perfect food.

I know Jolesch from before, when Edith was still the owner or manager. Had an onion roast yesterday, which was admittedly delicious. It was also nice that the four of us got a table shortly before Christmas without a reservation. The biggest drawback are the completely exorbitant prices and the now soulless atmosphere. Too bad!

Unfriendly staff, the dry schnitzels and the greasy potatoes were on the table in 1 minute (very strange), expensive store for what you actually get... we will never go here again!

Overall, the food was very tasty, especially the side dishes and sauce were excellent. However, the goose could have been prepared a little more tenderly. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was attentive and friendly, which rounded off the evening very nicely.

The food is really extremely good. The service was very accommodating and it was a really nice dinner. The volume in the guest room is very loud when it's full, but it's still a nice ambience.

We planned a family Christmas party for 9 people from 3 cities. Reserved 3 months previously reconfirmed on the day of the celebration. When we arrived at the restaurant we were informed that the tables had been allocated twice, apparently for a larger celebration a little later. We were offered that we could eat within 60 minutes. The offer and the justification for the double booking seemed extremely flimsy. One cannot help but get the impression that a double booking was made to the detriment of the guests for purely financial reasons. In the end very sad for a long planned (small) family celebration.

Probably the best Kaiserschmarrn in Berlin! Even in Austria you rarely get one this good. And the juice goulash is also fantastic: not a tough piece. Everything is well braised and very aromatic. Maybe a tad too tomatoey. The dishes are accompanied by excellent open wines; We were able to rely on the recommendations of the staff. All in all, we had a wonderful evening in the beautiful ambience of the guest room with its inviting living room atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Minus five stars for this inglorious experience. We had made a reservation for 8 people, had this reservation confirmed by phone the day before and were really looking forward to our Christmas party. When we got there we were told that we had canceled the reservation using the app the day before. Which app they were talking about was a mystery to us. Not a word of apology, the guest is always to blame here. They tried to set up a makeshift place for us at the entrance with individual tables, but since the constant opening of the door meant that ice-cold air was constantly flowing in, we decided to leave. Of course we were charged for the two bottles of water - €14. When we paid we were again informed that it was our fault. Thank you. Never again.

The food was sensational. The service too. But the screaming and the noise like in the loudest pub...a shame...we had to stop eating after the main course. That was - with all the love - not a hit for a double birthday. Why do the guests shout like that while eating? Too bad.. We'll take dessert at home

After we had been guests at Jolesch during a visit to Berlin a few years ago, we were looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We found ourselves in a very loud hall where we almost had to shout at each other to understand each other. The food was a failure. Mine's schnitzel Partners tasted rather bland. The cucumber salad ordered with it was actually a small jar of cucumber that was almost drowned in sour cream - and at a horrendous price. Since I don't eat meat, I ordered a vegan schnitzel. These were 2 doughy patties, indefinable in taste. Unfortunately I couldn't eat it. The waiter wasn't interested in the feedback. We left relatively quickly and closed the door to Jolesch forever.

Definitely short when it comes to wiener schnitzel. Fully booked but they managed to get a table for us despite that - for the second time in just over a month.

Very excellent cuisine, from the Tafelspitz bouillon to the classic, expansive Wiener Schnitzel to the Kaiserschmarrn. The service: extremely courteous and attentive. We had an excellent evening there and felt really pampered. Perfect.

Attentive, very friendly, good staff. Excellent dishes, remarkably good wine. The location is in any case interesting in the deepest Kreuzberg, unfortunately in the middle of the deep green Wrangel focal point neighborhood with a completely exorbitant parking management fee of 4 euros per hour (the restaurant can't do anything about that). This doesn't hurt the obviously well-run restaurant. It was fully booked, but I would still prefer the restaurant to be in Friedenau, Wilmersdorf or Steglitz😋😉

This was our second time here. Now we know why we came back. The schnitzel is fantastic. This is eating satisfaction. Don’t come for elegance. Come to eat and to eat big. You may feel like a gluten, but hey, no regrets!

I was there for a business dinner so I did not really experience the restaurant as we were in a separate room. But I enjoyed the food! Amazing schnitzels, 100% would recommend!

The Jolesch is a highlight: the food is really top - Wiener Schnitzel better than in Kaffee Central, Kaiserschmarren like a dream: very nice and fluffy, very tasty (for me it could have been a few more raisins...). My wife had beetroot dumplings, absolutely honest in taste. Her dessert: apricot dumplings with apricots that are simply unbeatable. The service team works really well, everyone is there for the guest, but never everyone. It is a pleasure to enjoy this perfect teamwork, especially carried out by people who love their job and also treat their customers very charmingly. Really good! It would be absolutely 100% if you were still offered Austrian beer on tap ;).

Restaurant with Russian cuisine

For me it's definitely the best Viennese schnitzel in Berlin, great pannade, zero fat, preceded by an aged Vulcano ham from Styria or a winter pumpkin soup. Plus a large selection of wines and friendly service. I would be happy to stop by here again!

The food was good, the service very good. However, it was extremely crowded and, due to the fact that the tables were very close, it was also very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation.

Was very hot in the restaurant the entiretime, staff would not open the windows. £30 for some spatchcock chicken covered in breadcrumbs is very overpriced indeed. And whatever you do, don't ask the staff if you can split the bill jees talk about if looks could kill. All 8 of us agreed we wouldn't come back

It started with a rather cool reception from, as it later turned out, the boss. It almost seemed like I was dressed too casually for her. Just as warmly, she led me through the reception area, including a standing desk and reservation book, to a much larger room, which unfortunately had a distinct hall feel, which was also reflected in the volume of the conversations. Everything is neat and tidy, but with too many tables for the space available. When I took a look at the menu, it was clear that the evening would be expensive! An original veal schnitzel with gluten-free breading for 35 euros is quite steep, mind you, without a side dish! Side dishes average 8 euros the volume of a dessert bowl. Our waiter was a ray of hope and sweetened our stay with some intelligent humor. For dessert, an apple strudel with a scoop of ice cream for 14 euros reminds me of a tourist rip-off, but good... My conclusion is... food good, but not appropriate for the price. Waiter pretty good, at least the one we got to know. The ambience isn't very nice, it's too barren, not comfortable and when the dining room isn't completely full it's simply overcrowded and clearly too loud. I can get just as good food elsewhere for noticeably less money and I probably won't visit Jolesch again!

Unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right, side dishes for the schnitzel cost extra. The schnitzel had a flour crust in the breading. There was an apology in the form of a drink or a dessert.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Jolesch. So actually got married that day and went out for dinner later. Unfortunately the restaurant was far too cold at 5:30 p.m. Old wooden windows. We got a table where people could be seen very close to us on the left and right. This was difficult for my partner. Food: Schnitzel was delicious. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn, I grew up in Vienna, is a complete disaster. Way too sweet, too crunchy...Probably almond/icing. No tea was brought. Service is otherwise very nice and we received a drinking bottle for our wedding anniversary..dear.

The dishes were a bit small, but tasted excellent. However, we found it inappropriate that a male waiter repeatedly called us by the first name without asking.

Foods great and the portions are large. I really enjoyed the traditional feel and look. Although, be prepared take off all your clothes because the room temperature is sky high 🔥 🥵. Service was good fun, our man was entertaining to say the least.

Simply great, everything was right here. The finest, delicious Austrian cuisine, plus the feeling that the restaurant is also able to serve first-class French bistro cuisine. The wine and drinks menu are also very good, the service is brilliant. The only drawback, the Fernet Branca at the end was probably limited drop by drop. Very careless.

Still worth a visit. And still very busy, even on a Sunday. The classics are skillfully prepared on the plate and taste very good. The Kaiserschmarrn had too much sugar for me and it caramelized a lot. But for me the biggest drawback of an Austrian restaurant is the lack of very good Austrian beer. No matter whether it's wheat beer or light beer. Only one gusset found its way onto the drinks menu. I would still like to come back. Best regards to the team

Absolutely LOVED this place! From the friendly service, amazing menu options and interesting Austrian wine list.. to THAT spectacular painting that sets the mood for the room. I had been in Germany for weeks and had tried many Schnitzels.. theirs was in a league of its own.. huge serve, but so light and perfectly cooked. Very welcoming and attentive, helpful service.

Jolesch birthday menu: Although there are not 12 courses as announced in the morning post, but only 9, and not the ones described, it is still an experience. The first courses come “to share” on shared plates, true poems in terms of taste (including porcini mushrooms with Parmesan!) and sufficient in size and quantity and depending on the number of courses. The main courses (Vienna schnitzel and juice goulash) come per person on large individual plates and at the same time, so the small table is not big enough, a side table is added, which disrupts the coziness. In addition, the portions are too large and impossible to manage. But they pack it up for us to take with us. The dessert (warm chocolate cake) came again on a shared plate “to share”, unfortunately no apricot dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn. The staff is very attentive and caring and always friendly, recommended wines to go with each course, a successful evening. And at the end there were gifts for the guests (cups and a wooden board), thank you.

This was a great spot for dinner. The venue is very well decorated and welcoming. The staff also were very friendly and offered wonderful service. The schnitzel is why I guess most go there and that was amazing and can be accompanied by a great drink from and extensive menu. There is also a kids menu which has 2 items and was perfect for our kids

Food seems too expensive. Price performance is more geared towards tourists. Supplements sometimes have to be paid extra.

Jolesch has been our go to place in Berlin when we crave good schnitzel. Sad to see that their famously big portions have been significantly scaled down. Hope this is reversed as I would like to keep going there and taking my friends and visitors to have a taste of Jolesch's once delicious and satisfying schnitzels.

Wie immer, gehört das Jolesch dazu bei meinen Berlin Trips. Super leckere gut bürgerliche Küche ohne viel Gedöns, sympathisches Servicepersonal, tolle Weinkarte, gemütliche Atmosphöre. Preis Leistung stimmt!

The soups were sensational, the schnitzels were huge and tasted just like in Austria! Next time I wouldn't take a starter because of the large portions. The wine was also great!

Efficient and friendly service (you need to reserve, it's always full). Nice room but very - too - noisy, there are clearly too many tables and you have to sneak to the toilets. The veal escalope is good and very filling, so much so that a plate for two would be enough. On the other hand, the price (€28) is clearly too high: it's easy to find this good for less in Berlin, but I've lived nearby for several years and wanted to try it at least once. It's done, however I don't feel the need to go back! The cucumber salad on the side was very good but extra. Apfelstrudel OK, nothing particularly notable. In the end: a decent dinner but too expensive, in a nice crowded and noisy place.

Two zalto decanters on September 25th. ordered knd this was on September 26th. Charged. Cookies shipping. Multiple attempts to contact support. Finally reached someone on the phone at the restaurant. Assurance of shipping on October 2nd, 24 because I urgently need the decanters as a gift. Today is October 8th. And nothing was shipped. No proactive or reactive response from support. Never again

Excellent service, delicious food and great atmosphere. The front section, close to the entrance, looks a bit more classy in my opinion - but it's rather small so if you're a party of 4 or more they will likely seat you in the back. We were just 2 and they seated us right next to the window in the front section - really liked it. We chose this restaurant because of their reputation as being able to cater to gluten free needs, and they did not disappoint! The gluten free schnitzel was very good. Service was attentive and very friendly. If I had to say anything negative I would say that it's fairly pricey for Berlin. But all in all I would definitely come back again. Highly recommended, especially for celiacs and others with gluten free needs.

Quite expensive for the area. Portions very clear. Rooms not very comfortable. Attentive service is probably also sales-driven.

The schnitzel was very good and the breading was fluffy and crispy. The cucumber salad and potatoes were also great, although we would come back for the goulash. Big tender chunks, the sauce was so delicious. Topped by the elegant ambience and great service.
