This is one of Berlin's most famous coffee shops. We stopped by for dessert and coffee. The strudel was delicious and definitely recommended, but the other desserts were average.

A fantastic, high-quality coffee shop with super professional service. I had a really great four hours there. What started as a business meeting suddenly turned into four hours. The service was never pushy and was very attentive. The food was excellent, from the omelette and fresh espresso to the delicious fries. I can absolutely recommend Café Einstein.

The waitress seems to be schizophrenic, making some strange jokes about the guests. In a restaurant that prides itself on being quite exclusive, it's the height of luxury. I don't recommend it; if they don't respect you upon entering, I don't know how it's supposed to go.

Even though the outdoor seating was packed, the server was able to arrange chairs and two tables for us (6 people). This allowed us to enjoy the lovely sunshine.

If there were a "0" star rating, I would give it zero. Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as we received no service at all at first, and then truly awful service at the end. After waiting for about 5 minutes at a table still full of dishes from previous guests, I decided to go inside to ask how they handled service in the outdoor area. A very nice gentleman, possibly the owner or manager, kindly informed me that service outside was the same as inside. He gave me a menu and indicated that a server would be coming shortly. Surely, after what felt like another 5 minutes, two servers arrived: a man who seemed to be responsible for the right side of the outdoor area, and a woman who seemed to be responsible for the left. This woman went to the next table, briefly asked the guests something, and disappeared back into the café. A short time later, she returned with salt and pepper, which she placed on the table next to us. Then she quickly surveyed her area and started to disappear back into the café. Then, for a brief moment, she noticed something... ahhhh. She realized there were two other tables: ours and another one that had obviously not yet received its order. A short, annoyed "Hello, what can I get you?" I placed my order, and then my husband asked a question, glancing briefly at the menu to find something relevant. At that, the woman turned around and disappeared back into the café. I have rarely experienced such an incompetent server. I then followed her into the café to ask what she had taken, to make sure she hadn't misunderstood something. No, she hadn't. Since her reaction gave the same impression as outside—completely annoyed and utterly unwelcoming—I decided to cancel the order. Then came the curt question from her: did we want to leave now? Incomprehension! That's all that can be said for her! That's a real shame.

Classical German cafe experience. We love all their desserts but the famous apfel strudel is a must try.

A very good meeting place - you often see members of parliament, public figures, etc. there.

Today, the most famous visitor, Mrs. Merkel, was not in the building. We enjoyed our stay very much, as we received attentive service from friendly staff. After a short wait, our delicious meals arrived. It's a great place to relax and recharge before continuing your sightseeing tour.

My wife and I had breakfast here today. Thanks to the service (Henry) and the lovely atmosphere, we immediately felt very comfortable. The food (Eggs Benedict, Sachertorte) was absolutely delicious. The waiter was very attentive and made us feel welcome at all times. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The food was delicious. Our waiter, Henry, was attentive, extremely friendly, and always served us with a smile. The price is, of course, a matter of personal taste, but quite normal for the business and government district. I would come again.

We went for recommendations of the apple strudel, and it was an Incredible time. It was evident by the ambiance it is a well loved establishment. We got the Apple strudel and the hot chocolate is a must.

The food here is top notch. Me and the kids shared 2 massive schnitzel meals between the 3 of us. Husband had a curry wurst off the cheaper menu. They do the most amazing hot chocolate and chocolate milkshakes. We shared a huge chunk of Apple strudel for dessert. All the desserts looked lovely. Cosy and welcoming. Surprisingly pricey.

It was a great experience in Berlin. The staff are very professional and friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy and pleasant. The waffle and ice cream were fantastic! The prices are a bit high, but it's definitely worth it.

The Sacher Torte was a dream! The cappuccino was creamy, and it came with a small glass of water. The service was friendly and plentiful—what more could you ask for? I was considering ordering apple strudel or Kaiserschmarrn as an alternative, but I don't know if they're really that good or if the prices are just too high (more than €15). Of course, given the location, a lot comes down to supply and demand... So: The Sacher Torte is definitely my 5-star recommendation.

We visited this restaurant during a trip to Berlin and we highly recommend it. The Weiner Schnitzel was fantastic, as was the Austrian Noodles. The service was wonderful and we had a beautiful evening.

We (7-year-old child and 1 adult) just wanted to use the restroom at the Festival of Light. They wanted to charge us €1 for children and €2 for adults. Antisocial and greedy. A total rip-off. See more under Child-Friendliness!

The location is good. And that's it. Breakfast is poor, slow, and expensive. We ordered a fried egg, and it came burnt. The coffee came cold, and the service is poor, even by local standards.

My husband really wanted apple strudel while in Germany and Google told him here was a handy spot to get some. I went to the toilet while he ordered. One piece of strudel, and some water. I came back to a fancy waiter pouring us still water from a large bottle. We paid €15 for one piece of strudel, €9 for water, and a service charge; totalling €27. I was baffled and would not have let us stay/order if I’d seen the strudel cost beforehand. Obviously in a touristy location but I’m honestly shocked; though we were the idiots.

We popped in for a quick breakfast and decided that nearly 40 euros for two eggs each was on the steep side ( and I'm from Central London 🤣) so settled for 2 croissants and they were as hard as rocks !This isn't why I'm bothering to review as the unnecessary lavatory attendant is definitely worth a critical mention !I have travelled all around the world ,dining in five star establishments to beach shacks and I have NEVER in all my years doing so been verbally abused for daring to not leave a tip for a 10 second pee & hand-wash!She screeched at me like a harpie as I fled up the stairs 'SHOW ME SOME RESPECT !'and gestured to her plate of change and then to the QR code as I said I had no cash on me .I did complain to our waitress and she said there had been many complaints and she would inform her boss but I've looked at the reviews on here and it seems behaviour like this acceptable !

Friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Because it was early in the morning, the menu was limited, but the food was delicious, and the thoughtful attention to detail made for a pleasant experience.

The place was super nice and comfortable, loved the Macha it was sweet and great, I too the Benedict, my friends took some other meals with bread, super full and ready for the day. I have some feelings about the food, but overall not bad.

The Austrian restaurant was wonderfully welcoming, its service attentive yet relaxed, just as you would hope for in a place of this standard. Each dish was delicious, but the true highlight came at the end — apple strudel, served with cream, that felt like the perfect sweet memory to carry away. Best I have eaten.

Bad service and the coffee is undrinkable and expensive

The café is great, with a wide variety of coffee options, including matcha lattes. However, the quality of tourists really needs to improve. My mom and I went to the restroom one after the other. Since tipping is a voluntary act and there's no one watching, I left a 50-cent tip. But after my mom used the restroom, the 50-cent tip I left was gone, only leaving behind the 20-cent tips from others. I just want to say, since you can afford to travel, can't you spare this little money? Do you really have to compete with the person cleaning the restroom for tips?

It's a bit pricey, but the food is incredibly delicious. A two-person breakfast set costs 42 euros, and with two drinks and tip, it comes to about 55 euros, but it's well worth it. If you cancel your hotel breakfast for one day, you'll save about 50,000-70,000 won. Add another 20,000-30,000 won and enjoy a full, luxurious breakfast. The portions are enormous. We went for breakfast and ended up having lunch, and both my girlfriend and I were so full we left a little bit. They serve all kinds of cheeses, meats, vegetables, a large basket of bread, and a salmon and egg dessert. If you want a proper, aristocratic European breakfast, I highly recommend this place.

Afternoon tea disappointing. Service was lovely, staff pleasant but food was not good. eur29 for Hunks of toasted bread with avocado and cream cheese on them. The stalest most dense dry scone I've ever had, couldn't cut it with knife, didn't crumble either was more than stale solid dense mass of dough, the cakes were slices of dry dense loaf cakes. Even accounting for differences in afternoon tea content the food quality just wasn't good. On the plus side the Darjeeling tea was fresh leaf, served in a pot and lovely.

Expensive drinks and rude toilet attendant who demanded I pay to use the toilet and stood in my way. I queried it with management and they said it was not mandatory. Not sure why we have to pay for toilet facilities in an already expensive establishment

A bit pricey for my taste, for example, currywurst at €18.00 and goulash at €33.00. The food was excellent, though. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive.

It really depends on where you sit here! The back room is very nice. The regulars sit here, or in the first room at the back. We didn't find the outside area pleasant. The food is sensational, the service very attentive, and the prices are reasonable, but the value for money is good.

Service was not bad; staff were polite and professional. Overall, it was fine, but I probably wouldn’t return given the price point.

I was in Berlin today for business. I have to honestly say that many restaurants are open from 11:30 or 12:00. We just wanted a drink until our train back to Hamburg left. We received a very friendly welcome at the Einstein. What really impressed me was the service and the restrooms, and the nice lady who impressed me with the cleanliness and hospitality. Absolutely fantastic! Keep up the good work 👍

The beer hall where Einstein himself drank beer! And that says it all! An atmospheric place👍. After drinking beer, you can leisurely walk to the Brandenburg Gate and there a little more and see the Reichstag, then take a walk along the shore... In short, here is point A - a great place to start a leisurely tour of Berlin😄

In europe you have to pay yo use bathroom.s so you plan your breaks in places where the bathroom should come with purchase of food or drink. This place charges for the bathroom. I disagree with this practice.

Perfect tourist location, hence the high price. It's not really Berlin, but it's still nice.

Stupid rude waiter. Takes the order wrong. Brings the wrong wine. Doesn't correct it. Lets you pay for it. Avoid like the Spanish plague!

Racist place. The server visibly skipped us even when we were first in line. And have kids. Even folks behind us said sorry to us. Avoid this place at all cost since who knows what the racist servers will put in your plate.

Authentic German food and very fresh!!! You’ll love it!!!

I came here for a mid afternoon snack yesterday and feel abused by the €42 check. My daughter really wanted apfel strudel so we stopped in. I thought to get a raspberry tart and coffee with rum while we were there. The drink was not blended so all the rum was in my last three sips so wasn't pleasant. Our waitress offered us still water which I accepted but she brought a glass bottle to my dismay, then cracked it open too fast for me to object, then charged us 12€. The raspberry tart was acceptable as was the strudel. The decor and ambulance lacks any sort of rich appointments that would justify the prices and pomp IMHO. It feels rather like a country inn. In summary I do not recommend and will never return. I'm mostly bitter about the water charge and the poor coffee delivery though.

This coffee shop is located in a very touristic place. We went inside to sit. The decor is classic which is fine. Good coffee is served. The service is fine and very friendly. In short, just to drink a good cup of coffee.

This is your typical "tourist-catching" restaurant. If you decide to sit down here, be prepared to pay €20 for a sandwich. The prices are ridiculous. The food is good, but it can never cost those ridiculous prices. The worst part is that the waiter DEMANDS a tip. Yes, yes, just as you're reading. The waiter was forcing us to pay €10 plus extra for tips. He had even prepared that amount to charge by credit card. After I refused, he left, offended. Ridiculous. The cakes are really good, but at €15 a slice, it's hard to recommend this place. The place is spotless and quiet.

Great chain of cafes - lovely cakes and reasonably priced. Lots of locations across Berlin, good for a rest stop when exploring. Cheesecake particularly worth trying.
