Central ubication and typical continental food. I ordered a vegetarian option that consisted of different breads and cheese. The service was polite, but they work slowly ( i don't know if it was a sporadic thing if it is usually like this), that's why I would recommend it go with time. Nonetheless, the caffe was elegant and charming, and I would definitely recommend it.

If you are from abroad definitely don't go, the waiters are very rude and very disrespectful. We asked for the bill and 10 minutes went by without him bringing it. We asked about it again, he warned us with swear words and when I told him to calm down he hit me hard on the shoulder and said okay, okay and probably cursed in German. Then he brought the bill late and banged on the table like it was our fault. And he kicked us out of the restaurant. Just once, I asked the service staff so I could pay the bill. The waiter turned around and said sternly, "I'm looking after ten tables, you have to wait" and he kept us waiting on purpose.

I came here because it was recommended in a New York Times piece, and this experience was enough for me to never trust a New York Times recommendation again. Point blank and most importantly: the food is terrible. I had criminally flavorless scrambled eggs and overcooked salmon. The breads were fine, but you can get better at a chain bakery. The environment is underwhelming. I know part of the appeal of this place is the history, but this looks like an old diner in need of a coat of paint and some wall decor. The staff is cold and abrupt, which is generally to be expected of Germans — so that just is what it is — but it was very clear that the maître d’ was turning away certain people and not others. I simply cannot understand why anyone would recommend this.

The cake is delicious. They mixed up the bill with another table (overpaid). There were almost no people in the establishment, so you should have been wary :)

I never talk this big about any restaurant but this is the most racist place in Berlin! I visited here today with my two sisters and my mom. The old waiter met us when we arrived and showed a table for us to sit. He was not very welcoming but I thought he is just tired or something else. Then we waited in the table for 15 mins and nobody came to take our order. I called a waiter and he said the old waiter needs to take the order and he’ll let him know. Then I saw them talking and the old guy didn’t even look at our table. He just went to other tables. Then he passed our table a couple of more times and everytime I tried to talk to him, he even didn’t look at us. My mom wears a hijab. He has been so racist and made my mom feel bad. We left the place and he even didn’t look at us. I am warning people wearing hijab planning to go to this place. Please do not go if you don’t want to be humiliated!! It’s 2024 and there are some racist people around.

I would have expected more from a café with such prices. But it takes forever until orders are taken and drinks and food are brought to the table. The café latte (at least delicious) was drunk before breakfast (vegan pancakes) arrived. The pancakes were so black on the bottom that I had to ask for new ones. This was accepted without resistance (but also without any regret), but it took a long time until the new ones arrived. Incidentally, the pancakes didn't come with the apple elderberry compote that was on the menu, but rather a blob of coarse applesauce and a few blueberries, a stalk of currants, a few pieces of pineapple and pieces of melon. Unfortunately, that didn't go well with the pancakes. Others had no more luck with their choice of food: eggs with ham were eggs with KOCH ham, breakfast eggs were almost raw and the hard-boiled egg they ordered was still liquid, you almost had to look for the braised tomatoes on the bread with avocado cream with a magnifying glass... It's also loud and not very comfortable in the store. And to top it off, there is a tip plate on the toilet. Really cheeky with the prices. In any case, I won't be coming back.

Apple strudel for 12.90 and not tasty at all. Cheap cocoa €6. Long waiting time to pay. Never again.

The apple strudel is perfect, little dough, good feel with apple and raisins. And I recommend a coffee with milk in a mug.

Chocolate with cream really delicious 👍🏼

This German cafe has the ambiance of a fine dining chain, but unfortunately, the food falls short. We tried the cream soup, which was delicious, but the accompanying bread was extremely dry. The Caesar salad, despite the staff’s commendable effort to accommodate our dietary needs (no cheese or vinegar), was overly saucy and unpleasantly watery. The Kaiserschmarrn was another letdown, far from the quality we expected. On the positive side, the staff were kind and attentive, and the restaurant’s toilet facilities were impeccably clean, with a dedicated cleaner maintaining them after each use (though tips are optional). While the service and cleanliness impressed, the overall food quality makes it hard to recommend this cafe.

Not cheap, but inexpensive. Nice atmosphere with coffee house charm. Here time stands still a little and the hustle and bustle outside. Reservations are recommended as they are often quite full. Recommendation: Kaiserschmarrn. A visit is worth it. Has nothing to do with the other Einstein cafes in Berlin.

A charming, cozy cafe with a large selection of desserts in the center of Berlin. Everyone is very attentive, the coffee is prepared very quickly. My recommendations!

I was at Einstein Unter den Linden on Saturday evening and it was highly recommended. Service was very accommodating and the porcini mushroom risotto and schnitzel were very tasty. The food more than lives up to the prices!

We had a great evening as a group! The food was excellent, especially the mushroom risotto, and the atmosphere was just great. We had a lot of fun and will definitely come back. Many thanks to the whole team!

Very nice atmosphere with Berlin flair

Four of us were here for breakfast today. The Sylter breakfast, the Berlin breakfast and the Eggs Benedict were delicious. Serving a little dollop of jam for a Parisian breakfast with croissant, brioche and white bread is a joke!

People like to come here. Good selection and it just tastes good. Take a look and take a break. A menu with a decent selection. So take a break and enter

The last time we were here was 10 years ago, when the Einstein was an institution with reliably good cuisine. The food is now completely overpriced and awful, the traditional cheesecake is no longer available and there is no trace of the coffee house atmosphere anymore. Rather a drafty station hall or tourist trap. Avoid at all costs!

Great german classic food. See the prices!

The did not match the atmosphere of the restaurant, we payed around 60€ for something that you buy from Lidl. For recommendations please inform the costumer if the food is a hot meal or cold. The most ironic thing is that the beer is cheaper than tea, tea cost almost 10€.

So this is a coffee house that deserves the name. A wide selection of cakes, breakfast and lunch dishes. We were here for breakfast today and were very satisfied. Breakfast for 2, plenty of everything and something for everyone. Even the breakfast egg was very good. More of an exception. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and always concerned about the guest. The atmosphere is cozy and stylish. A successful visit. We'd love to come back.

Paid €13 for an average apple strudel. Then I was asked to pay an extra euro to use their toilet even though I was a customer! They make out to be fancy by charging high prices but then treat you like it’s a street food location. You can easily get better full meals around at places that let you use the toilet.

Keine Einwände! Tolles Kaffeehaus, gerade wenn man Wiener Kaffeehäuser mag. Das Frühstück war super (die hausgemachte Marillenmarmelade ist zu empfehlen), der Kaffee ausgesprochen gut, der Service hervorragend.

Very well located and delicious strudel. A bit pricey though. And they enploy a very rude toilet lady. I had to change my baby's nappy on the sink and was told to take my dirty nappy with me. When I asked where should I leave it she said outside, take it with you but don't leave it here. I complained to the manager but nothing further than a sorry happened.

33€ for risotto with canned seafood! Dishes prepared as lovingly as possible. When it comes to cuisine, I can't recommend it more.

Far too expensive for the “canned food” you get. Prices are also very high. Not recommended (except for drinking at a cafe, where you'll spend under €20 for 2 people). There was no price list at the entrance.

We sat outside in the beautiful weather and enjoyed a delicious homemade iced tea and a ginger lemon lemonade. The service was very good and friendly. But, the prices are not without reason. An Aperol Spritz costs a hefty €12 here

Today we were at Café Einstein Unter Den Linden and tried to enjoy the apple strudel, but unfortunately there was a very rude tone from a German-Turkish bar manager who shouted at all his colleagues in front of all the customers and belittled them... I don't want to pay so much money for that... and You don't do that in a place like this... must it be the lack of staff or a management that doesn't care about customs? Too bad

Good food, the menu is quite extensive so one can choose from variety of authentic tradition dishes. Pretty natural atmosphere of German pub/kitchen/dining room. Not cheap, not too expensive.

Food and service very good. The Einstein breakfast for two is great value for money. Plus 2 rosé champagnes and hot drinks. Overall price is more than reasonable. Highly recommended. Service is great, the ambience is quite appealing, but it is and remains a new building. But still very nicely done.

Sehr schönes Restaurant, nicht gerade günstig aber die gehobene entspannte Athmosphäre und dieser gewisse österreichische Charme macht es einmalig. Essen ist ebenfalls super. Und... die "Klofrau" - was für ein despektierlicher Ausdruck - ist der freundlichste Mensch, den ich ganz Berlin kennengelernt habe. Das allein ist schon den Besuch wert. Klingt komisch, aber wer jemals da war, weiß wovon ich rede.

Good schitnzel, good spot to go with family when traveling

The prices got much higher and the fact that it's not possible to have anything light that is not a dessert after 5pm is just sad. You need to have either a big dish, a pie or one kind of sandwich. Come on, can't you just keep some of the other snacks available like bagels and croissants?

The food is sublime and service first rate! They even cater for Washington’s finest who ask for ketchup!! 🙄

Classic Austrian café Unter den Linden, i.e. at the tourist hotspot. Lots of business people during the week, very touristy on the weekend. Service above average and committed, prices quite high. Food delicious, but sometimes very atypical (sandwiches at afternoon tea with (tasty) country bread). You can definitely go there, but you'll have trouble keeping up with the lavish prices.

The coffee and the atmosphere were good but the waitress was not friendly. I would say

SCAM experience - hidden service charge I recently visited Einstein Café on Unter den Linden with four friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. When it came time to pay, the cashier automatically added a tip without asking for our consent, claiming it was "the service" and saying that "service in Germany is not included." There was no clear communication beforehand that a tip would be added automatically. This practice felt very misleading and goes against proper customer service standards. In Germany, tipping should be left to the discretion of the customer, not imposed, and finding this extra charge forced upon us was very frustrating. I hope the café reconsiders this unfair approach. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting transparent and respectful service.

We ordered the house special breakfast and were given a cake stand that wobbled and was filled with things that were carelessly thrown up. The offer was so bad that we wouldn't go for breakfast!! Nothing special, just cheap and unspectacular! And for a lot of money!! Never again!!

Very nice café for sophisticated tastes. Viennese coffee house tradition shines through. Upon request, the large brown one was served with lactose-free milk. The apple strudel is huge and very tasty.

Food was ok, pretty standard breakfast that's overpriced. Got an orange juice that was 8 euros which is a ridiculous price, didn't even realize the price until we got the bill at the end because who expects orange juice to be so expensive. Wouldn't recommend coming here, lots of other places around that will serve tastier food for less. The waitress was fantastic & very friendly.

Stopped here for a coffee break and was pleasantly surprised by everything! My ice matcha latte was amazing, the staff was very friendly, and even bought colours and a colouring book for my niece!

The waiters were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The food, I ordered Schlutzkrapfen, was very good.

We had a fantastic dining experience here! The absolute best Wienerschnitzel - recommended by our waiter when I couldn’t choose. The Baratta starter was the best I’ve ever had. Wine was an excellent value and the service was very good.

I do NOT recommend this restaurant. The waiter/waitress does not give a damn about you. We came through the front door. The waiter ignore me. I walked in and go toward the bar area, and asked if I can see the menu. They were “not keen” but showed me the hard cover menu. After reviewing the menu we asked to be seated as all we wanted was a quick lunch and a coffee to refuel. We were seated for more than 10 min. I tried 5-6 times to ask the server to take my order, most waiter ignored me or they motioned they will come by but did not bother to come back. After waited more than 15 min, I did not get any attention, help, no assistance, no acknowledgment. I walked out of the restaurant. Will never come back. The service here is less than 1 star!!!

Wir gehen regelmäßig frühstücken, weil uns das Ambiente gefällt, die Bedienung stets freundlich und schnell ist, auf Extrawünsche eingegangen wird und das Essen lecker ist.

Ein Klassiker. Wie immer schönes Ambiente und professioneller Service. Allerdings fand ich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht mehr passend, auch im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Orten in Berlin.

worst service ever , it takes ages to order, never ever

Asked for 2 Italian coffee (like irish, but with amaretto instead of whiskey). Got charged €23 instead of the €17 that 2 irish coffees would be, and the Italian coffees barely contained any amaretto, certainly not the 2cl that was on the bill.

Delicious food, albeit a bit on the expensive side, good service. We would definitely put this restaurant at the top of our list if we return to Berlin.

I'm happy to pay high prices for good quality, but the Einstein Café Unter den Linden is a disgrace 😳 Offering a piece of cake for €7.50 and a café for €6 and then begging for money in the restaurant toilet was also okay too much for me. The service was very friendly, but very slow. But the café and cake are so below average for Berlin that I wonder why the shop was so busy. I somehow spent the entire visit waiting for the camera crew to come popping out of a corner...

Stopped for coffee, after lunch, on way back from Brandenburg Gate. Seating indoors and outdoors. Ordered hot lattes, came served in tall glasses..authentic. Unfortunately, didn't enjoy at all; in spite of asking for the lattes to be made extra hot, they were lukewarm at best, more on the cold side. Okay place to sit and relax a while.

Für uns ein absolutes Muss, wenn wir in Berlin sind. Wie immer ist alles Geschmacksache. Wir lieben das Ambiente, das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist für mich absolut angemessen. Die Qualität ist super und es ist so reichlich, dass immer etwas übrig bleibt. Darüber hinaus bekommt man hier einen exzellenten Service. Man muss sich als Gast nicht entschuldigen, wenn man einen Wunsch hat und man wird mit diesem angenehmen Charm und Humor der Österreicher behandelt. Das alles zusammen macht es für uns zu unserem Lieblingsfrühstückskaffee.

People were sympathetic. But they asked for money for the toilets and then I waited with my girlfriend for another friend and a British woman thought we were child laborers. When we went out a guy asked us if my girlfriend was selling her jacket, a bit creepy but still ok

Der Apfelstrudel war richtig tempereiert (lauwarm) and enthielt viele Apfelstücke und Rosinen. Der Teig war ebenfalls lecker. Dazu eine Kanne Assam-Tee (loose leaf, kein Beuteltee!) Etwas störend war die achtköpfige Gruppe Süeuropäer an den Nachbartischen, die sich alle gleichzeitig unterhielten und deshalb den Geräuschpegel erhöhten.

Very good food, excellent service, and a nice atmosphere make Einsteins a lovely spot to visit when you're touristing about Berlin. Only drawback is that it is quite expensive, but definitely worth a treat day meal in the city!

A PURE NIGHTMARE FOR BREAKFAST AND AN EMBARRASSMENT FOR THE EINSTEIN CHAIN! The atmosphere is just like in a canteen, uncomfortable seating, so that it doesn't invite you to sit down, as it looks rock hard and visually old-fashioned. The rooms offer an atmosphere like in a bar at the train station, no feeling of coming down from the hustle and bustle, to exhale and enjoy the sip of coffee, as the waiters around the crowd sort the cutlery and plates loudly, so that you can only hear the constant clattering. The waiters have absolutely no understanding that the customer is sitting right next to them. An absolute nightmare for a visit to the coffee shop. GOOD LUCK 🍀 NEVER COME BACK

The coffee was the only product that was acceptable BUT the food served is so disgustingly bad and disgusting that you get the feeling that it's a bad experiment and that the camera team is coming out just around the corner and breaking the joke. I ordered the two eggs in a glass with caviar (12€). The individual eggs of the caviar were so hard that you could hardly bite them and if you did, there was no taste of real caviar at all. This is neither natural nor appetizing. The only logical thought that can be derived from this is that it is artificial caviar. But this should also be the case. be mentioned in the horrendously overpriced menu (for nothing)! No customer wants to be so blatantly lied to and consume chemicals! What a perfidious and sneaky management rip-off, pitiful! Furthermore, the croissant for a hefty €4, which I also ordered, was so old and hard that it was definitely from the day before, there is no other way to explain such inferior quality, pure rip-off! My expectation for Caffee Einstein was to get high quality products, as they represent themselves at the entrance, with their sign saying "Please wait, you will be placed" - this is common in restaurants with style, quality and label - which is what at Cafe Einstein is completely exposed as a lie, embarrassing! Class has its price if the main building is no longer to be financed; This is very unfortunate for the city of Berlin, because Berlin doesn't need off-the-shelf coffee houses. Maybe. you'll find a lover after all... Here at Unter den Linden, yes it still has class, but the waiter with a classic vest had more charm...

If you want unsympathetic waiters and bad service then Einstein unter den Linden is the right place for you. Luckily the other branches are not like that.
