The restaurant and beer garden appear to be closed at the moment; at least the restaurant was set up. When the weather's nice, you can enjoy coffee and wine and snacks in front of the kiosk, which is open.

I was at the Friedrichshain Hospital and had a great time there. It was a really nice change from everyday hospital life. I truly enjoyed walking through the park and eating some delicious Kaiserschmarrn.

A very unfriendly and bitter barista at the outdoor bar who hates his customers. This local shamelessly exploits its location as the only shop in the otherwise beautiful park. If you want an authentic GDR service experience, this is the place to be.

Aman is such a wonderful, charming waiter, thank you! The schnitzel could be crispier, but otherwise the food was good!

We love it on Sundays for breakfast

We accidentally made a reservation for the wrong day, but they super-friendly pushed tables together for the ten of us (!). Not typical for Berlin... The service was fast, efficient, and friendly, and the food (spinach dumplings!) was absolutely delicious. After dinner, the kids were able to play in the park within sight. Okay, it wasn't cheap, but it was definitely worth the money!

I can only recommend this really good restaurant. Of course, the atmosphere is great in Volkspark Friedrichshain, and the food is also excellent. The service is also very attentive and friendly, perhaps a little too much.

We came for late lunch at Restaurant Schoenbrunn after our morning trip to Wasserglocke. The food was very tasty, and the atmosphere was really pleasant in the restaurant. We didn't book, and had no trouble getting in, but we were out of peak lunch time hours so that could be why. But I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to eat

Three tables occupied, virtually no customers. We wanted to sit in the front with a stroller on a quiet day and needed another chair. "ONLY 2 SEATS IN THE FRONT!" screamed across the square. I confronted the patient, who showed no understanding and was completely immune to gentle persuasion and appeals to common sense. We've seemingly returned to the GDR.

We celebrated our company summer party here with 65 people, and it was simply fantastic! 🌞 The food: super delicious, fresh, and made with lots of love. The service: warm, attentive, and totally uncomplicated. We felt welcome the entire time. The location is a dream – a great terrace outside, but also very inviting and cozy inside. Perfect for a summer evening with such a large group. The organization beforehand also went so smoothly that it was almost "too easy" for me. 😉 A huge thank you to the whole team for this wonderful evening! We'll definitely be back! 🧡

The Schönbrunn – located in the heart of the historic Volkspark Friedrichshain. A beautiful park oasis in Friedrichshain with appealing, delicious Austrian-Mediterranean cuisine.

Not a pleasant evening at Schönbrunn! We wanted to enjoy the beautiful late summer weather and end the day at the beautifully situated Schönbrunn (I'd happily give it two stars for its park location). First, we went to the beer garden to the right of the restaurant and wanted to drink a 0.2 l white wine for €7. But the waitress just said "self-service." Why? We've always been served here in the beer garden. And after a hectic day at work, I'm not in the mood for self-service at all. So we went next door to the Schönbrunn. There we had to wait at the terrace entrance (although the terrace was mostly empty). Then we got a table, and later a young waitress brought us the menu. After that, she was nowhere to be seen again. We waited and waited—ready to order a 0.2 l glass of the cheapest white wine for a cheeky €9.60. At the next table, guests arrived, served by a nimble Indian. They already had a bottle of rosé and water on the table, while we were still waiting for our waitress. Until, at some point, we got annoyed and called it quits. We went home, made ourselves a delicious cocktail, and enjoyed it on our terrace. Another experience that perfectly sums up the current situation in Berlin's gastronomy scene. And explains why fewer and fewer guests are willing to visit a restaurant – a real shame, but the restaurateurs themselves.

The pizza tastes really delicious!

Excellent Wiener Schnitzel, a limited but good wine selection, and friendly service. When the sun is shining, the terrace is more than pleasant.

Delicious food, but the brunch could have more flair considering the complexity of the lunch menu. The freshly pressed orange juice was so good! Be careful with the wasps if you sit outside.

The ambiance was nice, but the food and service were poor despite a reservation. We were there early on a Friday evening with a reservation. The restaurant filled up after us. The starter came quickly but was poorly presented and reminiscent of a chain restaurant. After the tables around us had already finished their main courses, and after repeatedly asking where our main courses were, I was served the worst schnitzel I've seen in years – an absolute disappointment for €32.90. The spinach dumplings were good, but the dinner as a whole was a complete disappointment. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We always enjoy coming to the beer garden whenever we're nearby. The exceptionally friendly service and delicious food make every visit a pleasure.

Insanely overpriced for this quality food! There’re plenty of good places in the same price range where you don’t regret spending money for food. This is not the case Great atmosphere just for drinking beer or just chilling outside with a cup of coffee

You sit in the middle of the Volkspark Friedrichshain with cool drinks and delicious food.

It was so lovely again, the service attentive and very friendly, and the food: 10 out of 5 stars, best schnitzel ever. Unfortunately, we're only in Berlin once a year, but always at Schönbrunn. Thank you for a lovely evening, and keep up the good work!

Great food, whether it's brunch or schnitzel in the evening. The ambiance inside is more of a 3, but on the terrace or in the beer garden, it's cozy and pleasant, depending on the setting. The service and staff are usually top-notch!

We ate well. The bottled wine was very good.

We went to the restaurant last night, and it was truly delicious. The lemon flavor in the mashed potatoes was fantastic. The vegetables were also perfectly prepared and had a great flavor. The Wiener schnitzel was, as it should be, nice and juicy.

I can recommend it. Relax in the greenery by a pond in the middle of a public park and eat something different from the usual standards.

The restaurant is in a good location, but the service is very slow; you shouldn't be in a hurry. Reserving a table online worked well. The food was quite expensive, and the selection wasn't great. It's better to go to the beer garden next door than to the restaurant.

A lovely restaurant with a really fantastic terrace and a great location in the beautiful Volkspark Friedrichshain. The Volkspark is also getting on in years and is no longer as nice to look at as it used to be. There is a lot more rubbish and broken bins than before. Nevertheless, this restaurant has a lovely outdoor area. You can eat in the regular restaurant. In the summer there is usually a grill outside too, as well as a small kiosk and so on and so forth. The service is friendly, but the restaurant itself is a bit dated and could do with some modernisation. Apart from that, everything was good. We were there for breakfast and everything was very good.

Pizza like in Italy, ambience in the green park, warm evening, absolutely great!

Great café, lovely atmosphere. What I find unfortunate, however, is that oat milk costs extra and the vegan food selection is unfortunately very limited. I wish they were more accommodating, especially from the animal perspective!

Very nice restaurant: from breakfast to dinner, there is a wide menu available. I had one of their tasty brunches. The place is located in a quiet park and it is possible to dine on the terrace/patio with a beautiful view.

In the middle of the Volkspark, great pizza, delicious drinks, and especially great coffee. Very friendly service and a great setting outside when the weather is good. I can only recommend it. Prices are reasonable.

Beautiful lunch at a beautiful place! We booked online and they have us a great table. Service was prompt and courteous. They happily adjusted the umbrella for us twice. Wine was brought in an appropriate cooler. The dessert pancakes were to die for. Only downside are the insufficient toilets.

The owner objects to Google about bad reviews. The same applies to mine, which, like many others, was still available to read this morning and all referred to the long waiting times. Therefore, the following descriptions are all my personal experiences and opinions: In my opinion, waiting times of 40 minutes for a beer in a beer garden are too long. The long queues on site snaked past our tables and were anything but comfortable for a beer garden for us. Our planned short break while walking through the Volkspark didn't work out with a queuing time of 40 minutes alone.

Were here today for Easter breakfast and are completely thrilled. The food, service and location can't be beat.

When it comes to Wiener Schnitzel, only the “Alt Wien” inn a few hundred meters north is even better!

We had reserved in advance and everything worked out great. The service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right. Apart from the Kaiserschmarn, which was very good. The toast with egg and avocado for 16 euros was a slice of dry toast, carelessly prepared. A grown man won't get enough of it. The pancakes were also manageable and dry. The terrace is very nice and you can sit comfortably. The toilets, however, resemble a train station toilet.

Whether for coffee, lunch, dinner, coffee at the kiosk or pizza in the beer garden - the service is usually extremely friendly, the quality is good and the ambience is excellent.

Went there for brunch today. Simply great, lovely service, competent and flexible if you have special requests. The food was absolutely delicious and delicious, perfectly prepared. Drinks also flawless and perfect. Great dishes and everything very clean ❤️. Large selection from vegetarian to Bavarian to Arabic, everything is included. Had reserved and that would also be recommended, the shop is “running”👍 A tiny criticism, there was a lot of dust along the windows and on the shelves. This needs to be reworked. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend it again at any time!!!

Self-catering. You can really relax here

It's a quiet and idyllic place in noisy Berlin. On the terrace you can enjoy the sun on the first nice days and the food is very tasty. I can recommend good Austrian Kaiserschmarrn. The beautiful park around it is perfect for taking a walk.

I've often walked past it, but today I spontaneously tried it out in the nice Sunday weather and only got a seat inside, but free choice of seating and advantages such as no cigarette smoke, which you appreciate even more as a young family. The food and service were really great. It is rare that everyone enjoyed all three main courses so much.

We were here for breakfast today with a group of 11, of course we reserved it in advance. The breakfast was excellent, rich and tasty. The staff was quick and attentive. All in all we will come back. It is highly recommended.

I was in the restaurant with my Colombian friend and myself with Kufiya. We had to ask for a table at the entrance and were not greeted. Then, after a long wait, we had to ask for the card. When we wanted to order, we were ignored by both waitresses. One waitress even stood near us for a long time twice, but ignored my questioning look, so we left without ordering. We felt like we were being deliberately ignored due to racism and felt very uncomfortable in this place. Kindness is different.

Lovely little place in a beautiful park. We came over for some beers. They were affordable and quite good. From the terrace you have a lovely view of the park, people and birds. Also the architecture of this place is great DDR architecture which I enjoyed very much.

This afternoon I wanted to have coffee with three women over 80 years old in Café Schönbrunn. Unfortunately the café was closed. There was no notice of the closure either on the internet or at the café. Inside we saw 2 men who ignored us and didn't respond to calls. We were very disappointed because we wanted to meet up for coffee and cake before the holidays.

Breakfast on Sunday: Service very slow, cappuccino & hot chocolate were both hot milk drinks with very little taste. Food was mediocre - no avocado in the avocado toast; English breakfast was made from ready-made products that were made warm. Big disappointment!

Do you really want to go to a restaurant that can't handle criticism? Regarding my factual but critical review - originally 3 stars! - I received a message that my post had been deleted after the operator objected. The accusation is: defamation Dear operators of the Schoenbrunn restaurant: how about you use your energy to optimize the service to your customers instead of deleting critical reviews? My original review reads: "Food is ok in terms of price-performance ratio - but nothing more. Service is limited: tried to be friendly, attention leaves a lot to be desired."

Since I know that giving a bad but correct review doesn't help your business, I generally refrain from doing that as I am an entrepreneur myself. Only today I'm making an exception because a slightly hard-of-hearing, snotty bartender pointed out to me that I should say hello before I could say anything, which I duly did when I entered. No wonder that the Berliner enjoys such a bad reputation in the world. As a German, I am ashamed of such behavior from an apparent native.

Nice restaurant in Friedrichshain

Schönbrunn is a great place to sit in the sunshine and enjoy an Aperol Spritz. However, when looking at the menu you have to hold on to your wallet...

We were there in a larger group. Food was very good, but rather €€ for the portions. Still, everything is very good. Nice environment right in the park. Toilets take some getting used to, but there's always something.

The four of us came by here around 5:30 p.m. after a long walk through the park, a little cold. The sign outside the door asked us to wait outside until we were assigned a seat. So we, like the woman in front of us, waited with a stroller. When it was our turn and we expressed our desire for a table in the warm indoor area to have a drink, we had to wait again. The interior was almost completely empty. We didn't understand what the problem was. But then we kept waiting. After a while two men came to the door again. We heard something about reservations starting at 8 p.m. (2 1/2 hours later!) and then we were told we could sit outside. Everything is inside! reserved. As cold as we were, we declined and left. And we probably won't come here to eat again. It's a shame I have to give it one star. He doesn't deserve it.

You've heard a lot of positive things, but I can't repeat that. The staff is absolutely overwhelmed and has no overview of who has ordered and who hasn't. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired. The tables are greasy and the floor even more so. The fact that dogs are allowed in what is actually a clean and hygienic environment is an absurdity. The prices are cheeky for what is offered. Everything seems unstructured and overwhelmed. The staff licks their fingers when the cake isn't properly on the plate and brings it to the table, simply disgusting. The cloth for cleaning the table is in a cooling jug where something should normally be kept cold. Hygiene is the last thing. I am very disappointed. The company's management should make further improvements and train employees on the subject of hygiene. In addition, the menus are simply ridiculous, some pieces of paper on the clipboard that are crumpled and dirty. And being addressed as first person is simply rude. The kitchen door is open, simply unbelievable.

Potato gratin was very al dente and only lukewarm. Food too expensive for what was brought. Service very nice and helpful.

Wir sind ohne Reservierung hin und bekamen sofort einen Tisch. Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam und nett. Wir hatten ein Wiener Schnitzel (original) und einen gerösteten Blumenkohl mit Rote Bete Mus und Humus. Beides war sehr gut und die Portionen waren groß. Der Blumenkohl war ausgefallen und echt mal was Anderes

We felt completely comfortable here. Sure it's a bit pricey, but the quality of the food was excellent and worth the price. Pleasant, unobtrusive service rounded off the stay. And even though it actually ends at 11 p.m., we were still able to finish our bottle of wine in peace and leave the restaurant 30 minutes after closing time. So thumbs up!

I've been going to Schönbrunn regularly for almost 2 decades... it's still delicious and good! The beer garden next door is also great… It's a shame that there are no more parties where the Märtini Brös play on the roof :)

Guest on September 14th and super satisfied!!! Excellent cuisine paired with confident service - what more could I want? I had the impression that friendliness was practiced here and that the staff's smiles were not professionalism. Everyone was friendly and accommodating - it was simply a successful evening. The restaurant is very easy to reach and recommended for families. Many thanks to the entire team - I look forward to the next visit!!!!

Beer garden closes before the advertised closing time, in our instance it was closed at 7.30 (mid September). The restaurant remained open but is expensive: nearly 30 Euros for a schnitzel. We had a small but expensive beer and left.

Amazing location in the nature. Good beers and good food. Also the pizza is very good - a nice option to share with friends with a couple of beers in a sunny sunday!
