Cozy restaurant with Austrian cuisine. The Kaiserschmarrn was fantastic.

Simply fantastic! The service at Schneeweiß is warm, attentive, and absolutely professional. The food – a dream! Every course was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and lovingly presented. We'll definitely be back and can only warmly recommend it to everyone.

Unfortunately, no stars. I ordered via Uber and was really looking forward to the food, only to be told by the courier, 45 minutes later, that the order had been completely taken up due to incorrect packaging. The restaurant couldn't be reached by phone either.

It's really not good anymore. The food is mediocre. Service is also bad (drinks came after the appetizer). It used to be good, but now it's no longer worth it.

Standard price for a Wiener schnitzel in Berlin, and a super delicious one at that. Popular restaurant, it was decently crowded on a Monday evening. Also I really liked the decor and interior furniture.

Really good food and super service

We came here for our wedding anniversary and were thankful that we came with a gift voucher from friends as the food made no sense for the price! Ok if it tasted good or if the plating was visually stunning - but the taste was normal and the visuals mediocre. Perhaps it was a good restaurant many years ago but the house specialties that we tried - Schnitzel and Gulausch with dumplings - were really not worth the price. Overall it felt like a restaurant that was trying to be high end, without the fine touches of a real high end restaurant. The menu was not updated and staff did not inform us that the burgers had been removed from the menu until we were about to order, 15minutes after sitting with our drinks. At 25 euros, the Schnitzel is just a piece of breaded meat with nothing - you need to pay 2 euros for the sauce and another 5 euros for a side each of potatoes etc. The beef for the Gulausch was dry and served with sauce over meat instead of the typical hearty, soupy Gulausch. Shame as the sauce was tasty. We ordered a spinach-fenchel salad with truffle dressing and a beef soup as starters. At 17 euros, we thought the salad would be something special but it was just a plate full of spinach leaves with grated parmesan tossed in truffle vinaigrette oil. The plating looked like something out of our home kitchen.

We were invited to a wedding reception here. It was great. The service was fantastic.

We've been coming here for over ten years, and this is the first time we've noticed a significant decline in the quality of the food. It was, unfortunately, a consistently disappointing experience and certainly overpriced given the quality of the food. I don't know if we'll ever return.

If you like the Schnitzel and the Kartoffel and the Spargel, then you should make the going here!!! because this is all of that in super tasty! oh also kaiser schmarren and apfel strudel etc… Only the beer had hardly any fizz… :( the Wine was very good though !

Overall, we were very satisfied with our visit to Schneeweiß. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was warm, plentiful, and delicious. The only thing that wasn't really my cup of tea was the Kaiserschmarrn. As a Kaiserschmarrn fan, I didn't really enjoy it (the consistency and flavor were more reminiscent of torn-up curd strudel), but that's ultimately a matter of taste. The wait for drinks (including refills) could have been a bit shorter, and the wait staff could have stopped by the table every now and then to check the status of the drinks. Perhaps they also check the table surfaces. We sat at a table with a slightly sticky/sticky surface (not dirt; more likely the residue of a tablecloth or something similar).

We tried the Spargel with schnitzel, which was delicious! Huge portions… Service was good, the staff were patient and friendly. We had a pleasant visit. The restaurant is not too big, and gets busy during dinner time. I would recommend one reserves a table.

Not so crowded relaxed enjoyment

Unfortunately, very disappointing food (I say that as an Austrian) - soup was very bland, meat at our table was once not cooked through and once it was so stringy that you couldn't cut it. Service was not very attentive, you were allowed to refill your own drink. All of this at high prices. The offer itself sounds good and so do most of the reviews, so hopefully it's just a blip, but we'll avoid it in the future.

We sat in a separate area behind the main room, so it was nice and quiet and we could have a good chat. But we were a bit forgotten by the service back there... Food and drink were good, only the beer was too warm.

We had brunch at Easter and were pretty disappointed. The buffet was almost empty at 11:00 a.m., chaotic and carelessly arranged. The bread was very tasty, but the topping was nothing special, there were hardly any salads, cereals, fruit or desserts. Cake was ok, but again almost empty and not arranged in an inviting way. The very hearty warm dishes (white sausage, meatloaf) are not my thing, so I don't want to rate them. I think they were ok. We waited 40 minutes for the drinks (you can only reserve 2-hour slots...), then half of them were missing and the coffee was lukewarm and mediocre in quality. Without complaining, we were offered a 10% discount because of the long waiting time. The staff was nice, they were probably just understaffed. We were still disappointed. Brunch used to be much better.

Unfortunately, the Easter brunch on April 20, 2025 did not meet our expectations at all. The taste of the food wasn't that good, the meat on the knuckles was clearly too firm and corresponded more to the taste quality of convenience. In principle there was no dessert at all and the mustard had also run out in the meantime. The service was very friendly, but the number of guests couldn't cope. We waited 30 minutes after ordering for the hot drinks, when we were almost finished eating. That doesn't work at all! The price/performance ratio was poor. Too bad!

Too bad. Used to be a very good restaurant. Easter brunch today was a big disappointment. The buffet was clear. The staff is completely overwhelmed. Order drinks only after urgent requests. Some of the drinks we ordered came after 30 minutes when we had almost finished eating. Black tea was served as green tea and tetra pack nectar as freshly squeezed orange juice. Unfortunately, the service failed across the board. Sorry, but it used to be nicer.

I ate there with my colleagues and have to say that everything we ordered tasted very good. When you think of Austrian cuisine, you think of simple cuisine, but the restaurant has turned it into something extraordinary. The service was attentive, friendly and quick.

Tasty but pricey but definitely tasty!! great place

Wiener schnitzel and grilled knuckle of pork, decent quality, but nothing special. A bit overpriced for what's on offer. Nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The schnitzels were quite dry and so was the “juice goulash”. When I asked the waitress if everything was OK. Oh well, answer that the goulash meat is pretty dry, all I said was "aaaaawwww" with my lower lip sticking out, as if I were a little child who had hit my knee... Later the question was whether “at least the desert tasted good?”. You don't feel like you're being taken seriously... We were also simply given new bottles of water on the table that we hadn't ordered and were refilled without asking. It would be a nice gesture in itself if the water didn't cost 7.50 euros per bottle. Won't be coming here again. The ambience is otherwise nice, the restaurant is attractively decorated.

We ate here again with the company. Very friendly service (very rare in Berlin) and great food! Thank you! 💪

Due to the occasion, I am updating my review to 1 star. The fact that family members who had created a review and made a reservation are called the following day and advised by email not to visit the restaurant in the future is unacceptable in my opinion. In addition, such an approach violates the GDPR data protection regulation, as reservation data is ONLY for the intended purpose and not for any other use. Any misuse of this data can be reported. My review before: (3/5 stars) An update after about 1 year: We had the celery schnitzel and 2 normal schnitzels, with a few side dishes. Unfortunately, the side dishes all have to be ordered separately, which is very strange because for me personally the side dishes are simply part of it. For dessert we had a Kaiserschmarrn, which was very good, the only drawback would be that there were only 4 plum halves, back then you got a bowl with extra plum compote. Unfortunately, we had to wait a good half an hour for both, which is a very long time since the restaurant was almost empty at our time. Unfortunately, the schnitzel wasn't as good as it was a year ago. The taste was a little better back then and the breading came off very easily, but not back then. In general it wasn't bad, but in comparison I unfortunately found it to be not as good as it was back then, and I find ordering each side dish separately to be annoying.

We had Wiener Schnitzel from veal, but if you really think about it, you only get Schnitzel and not Wiener Schnitzel because you have to pay extra for everything. I've eaten Wiener Schnitzel in Germany, Switzerland and even Austria and it always came with a small portion of potato-cucumber salad and cranberry jam. Here you pay €2 for the jam yourself. The schnitzel itself was okay, but I've eaten better. The breading kept falling off and the meat somehow had a slight “stable” taste. The Kaiserschmarren was very good, but there wasn't enough plum compote - unfortunately there was also some skimping there.

As a starter we had a great beef soup with fries. Plus delicious sourdough bread with a fruity spread. Surely lightly toasting the bread would be a bit of an upgrade? For the main course we of course had the Wiener Schnitzel and it was perfect all around - a large portion, a crispy breading, tender meat. The cucumber salad complemented the main course perfectly. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarren - very tasty dough... but the canned plums and syrup are not a must for me. A Bavarian Helles was definitely missing from the menu! But the Pilsener Urquell on tap was also okay. Service was very friendly and attentive. The waiting times between courses were neither too short nor too long. The atmosphere is cozy, almost a little (too) elegant. A very pleasant evening - we would love to come back!

Wow! The asparagus soup was really a taste experience!! An incredible composition with apricot and roasted aromas🥹 highly recommended! The service was also friendly and welcoming. The ambience is chic and the acoustics are very pleasant. The prices are very high, but you really get something for it (and you can come hungry - unlike in other gourmet restaurants)

Brilliant Wiener Schnitzel. But the best thing you can get there is the Kaiserschmarrn. Definitely the best one I tried so far in Berlin and one of the best north of the Alps.

Anyone who wants to eat good Austrian food is in good hands here. There are original Wiener Schnitzel and much more. We really like the atmosphere and the service is very good.

Upon entering the restaurant we felt heavily underdressed, the atmosphere shouts fine dining - and to be fair, this restaurant offers just that with the comfort of the Austrian cuisine. Upon sitting down the waitress greeted us with a smile and immediately offered us some water so we could decide at ease, the music is good, the volume is just good enough, it’s just very nice. We decided to go with the aperitif of freshly made sour dough bread with a fluffy butter that had a very nice, slightly sweet taste to it. The sourdough bread a very nice fluffy inside and the crust was nice and crispy, not crunchy, crispy - how it’s supposed to be. Once we were ready we received our main course and man.. the schnitzel is amazing, it’s tender, flavourful, the batter is just perfect, not too thin, not too thick. Served with a big slice of lemon and some coarse salt. I’ve chosen for a potato salad on the side, it was to die for. Creamy potatoes that still had a bite, mixed with some mashed potatoes, creamy, savoury, slightly sour and salty. Last but not least came desert, I had the apfelstrudel that was very nice, everything I was looking for along with a bit of a crispy surprise on the dough - very nice. My girlfriend had the crème brûlée, which tasted very good, and exactly as expected. My one point of critique would be: use lower and wider crème brûlée dishes and coat the topside with a bit more sugar, that way you heat the entire dish through and don’t leave the bottom cold ;) Keep it up, you guys are doing awesome. P.S: get some more pictures of that magnificent kitchen staff of yours, it looks amazing!

The juice goulash dish was very tasty and the boiled beef was very tender.

Great restaurant in a creatively designed atmosphere. But that wouldn't be of much use if the food and service weren't right. But that wasn't the case at all. Food was great and the service was friendly. We'll be happy to come back - thank you again.

Completely overwhelmed staff. Even though you had booked a table you had to move for dessert because the next ones were already coming for that table. That was really an imposition. Food was ok. Dessert Kaiserschmarrn, which we really like to eat, was very bad - very dry and way too baked. All in all, unfortunately not recommended.

Actually great. Absolutely great. Red cabbage a bit too salty, but nice and creamy. Service on point and accessible, relaxed. Our table right at the entrance was unfortunately not relaxed. But it was our decision and it came about on site because the other tables for two were too narrow for us. We also made reservations at very short notice. The house can't help that. But the most important thing: we'll be back.

The food was really great, the ambience was noble but loveless. We were in the back, somewhat separate area. The service did not meet expectations at all for the occasion (company event) and the image conveyed to the outside world. Each (!) drink was brought individually and a speech was constantly interrupted because we had to find out the “owner” of the drink. When ordering, there was a slight confusion about the dishes on offer, which wasn't necessarily worth mentioning individually, but was also irritating as a whole. The food came very quickly for the size of the group and despite the different dishes.

Calm atmosphere, unobtrusive service, far away from the tourist flow, basically a nice place to go. But the food was far from adequate for the price. We had goulash twice. The sauce is debatable, but the meat was objectively and indisputably far too dry. Not reasonable for 25 euros, the chef didn't make any friends with that.

Christmas dinner with the company, a festive occasion at a long table, friendly staff, Austrian modern ambience reduced to the essentials. Price/performance wasn't that good, portions were rather too small. Acceptable and okay at a company dinner, but a shame privately. Is it because of the neighborhood?

Reservamos mesa para 5 personas y recibimos la confirmación de que nuestra reserva era a partir de las 6 : 00 - 8 : 00 pm. Al llegar nos dijeron que habían reservado nuestra mesa y que necesitábamos salir a las 7: 30 . No estuvimos de acuerdo con esto y nos sentamos a pedir nuestra comida. La comida era agradable, sin embargo, nuestro servidor no estaba muy bien informado. A las 7 nos preguntaron si queríamos postre. Pedimos dos postres diferentes para compartir. Lamentablemente les tomó 30 minutos servir esto. La siguiente cena llegó a las 7: 15 diciéndonos que reservaron esa mesa a partir del 7 : 30 en adelante. Respondimos que nuestra mesa estaba reservada hasta las 8 y que habían reservado en exceso, lo que no era nuestra culpa y que solo estábamos esperando nuestro postre. Una vez que salió el servidor sugirió que lo comiéramos en la habitación de fumadores que tenían en la parte trasera del restaurante! ¡Tan irrespetuoso con ambas partes! Era caótico y no era una buena situación para ser puesto en. El personal se volvió grosero y no asumió ninguna responsabilidad. Cuando nos pidieron hablar con un gerente nos dijeron que no había uno... Un sábado muy ocupado, difícil de creer. Cuando nos preguntaron por su nombre nos dieron una tarjeta de visita del restaurante sin nombre en ella. Me hubiera gustado tratar de aclararlo con el gerente, pero ok Trip Advisor es!

We had our company Christmas party there last week and I have to say that I was very satisfied! The food was very good. The staff did a very good job. I can recommend Schneeweiß with a clear conscience!

Very tasty food, lovingly prepared! I chose the fried char and was very satisfied. My daughter had the schnitzel with warm potato salad, which I was allowed to taste. Also great. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

Unfortunately very full, you should enjoy it a little outside of rush hour, but still an insider tip... the fireplace room is very cool to chill out

The menu offers a culinary overview of Austrian cuisine, but does not offer anything exceptional. The service was quick, friendly and competent, even though the restaurant was very full in the run-up to Christmas. Unfortunately, this made it very noisy - stubborn children did the rest, but this is not the restaurant's fault. Ultimately, the food was excellent.

Today we / I ate tartar, goose leg with breast and Kaiserschmarrn. The leg with breast was great. Rarely eaten so well. The sauce for the leg was seasoned to perfection, and a nice accompaniment that was not intrusive and had a nice finish on the palate with a slightly subtle note of marjoram. The red cabbage was classically good, but the dumpling wasn't quite perfect. Complaints at a high level😉. Tatar was top!!!👍 The Kaiserschmarrn was one of the best I've had the pleasure of enjoying in recent years! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Extra requests were implemented immediately. I would love to come back, as there is still good craftsmanship and sophistication in the kitchen! Highly recommended!

At first glance, high-quality furnishings. Food very good at great prices, staff very friendly, sometimes a bit haphazard.

The food is overpriced and the service was mediocre, but the potato salad was good.

The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly. As a group, however, we had to wait a while for the food and one of the meals was delivered incorrectly, but the correct food was delivered without any problems after an acceptable time. For dessert we ordered the Kaiserschmarrn three times. It took a long time until two of them were brought, and the third came later.

Small menu and also disappointing preparation

Decent place, nice staff. Location is fine as well, schnitzel was alright. -1 point as 3 of us got the pumpkin gnocchi which they all expected to be made from pumpkin. But alas, it s gnochi with a few pumpkin pieces. Gnocchi very dry which didnt make it any better. So please rename the pumpkin gnocchi to gnochi with pumpkin

Chic atmosphere, food more appearance than reality, confusingly different portion sizes, two of us needed two dishes to be full. The quite juicy 'fried chicken' consisted of two breaded chicken tenders on a plate without any side dishes or even a salad garnish. The Tafelspitzburger also came without any side dishes (French fries would have been an option) and was quite small. The duck, on the other hand, came with a large dumpling and red cabbage, but was rather dry; only the cheese spaetzle was a filling portion. The Kaiserschmarrn was delicious and we were full afterwards. Conclusion: Not again so soon.

Very good quality Austrian food. Wiener schnitzel, cheese spaetzle and entrecote were really tasty. The service was very nice and attentive. The ambience is clean and modern, predominantly white. When the restaurant was full, it became loud and stuffy.

We are disappointed. We got a voucher for the restaurant from a friend, had a bill of 175 euros, gave a tip of 25 euros and had to let the staff make a fool of us because we had a voucher. Sorry, but that's not possible because our friend paid the same amount in advance for this voucher. And a tip of 25 euros isn't that small. Apart from the fact that we ordered a wine from Bourgogne and got one from the Palatinate, everything was fine and the food was okay, I just found the attitude of the staff and the reactions towards us because we had a voucher very unfortunate Ultimately, you don't do that in front of a customer. This is simply unprofessional. We will definitely be found in other restaurants in the surrounding area in the future and not here. Luckily there are many of them in Friedrichshain.

Local upscale German restaurant with seasonal menu. Typical Berlin friendly service but the wine and food helps you get over that! Best schnitzel I’ve ever had.

Wiener Schnitzel with chanterelle cream sauce was sensational! Very nice and attentive service. Tables a little too close together for my liking, but overall a great experience.

Unfortunately I have to revise my rating. If you come here on a Saturday expecting a nice meal, you might be just as disappointed as we were. There was no menu but brunch with an amazing selection of two meat main courses. The rest was also rather clear. According to the website, brunch was scheduled for Sunday but not Saturday. What a shame!

Kevin Elias from Restaurant Schneeweiß took care of the catering for our wedding reception and we couldn't be happier. For our location just outside of Berlin we booked a BBQ dinner as well as a midnight snack and a brunch (“hangover breakfast”). The coordination in advance was uncomplicated and easily possible via email and telephone. The team already knew the location and was well prepared. Everything was very professional on site and Kevin and his team met our every need. Even when it started to rain, the staff remained calm and composed, which contributed significantly to the pleasant atmosphere. The clean-up and the entire organization surrounding the dinner and midnight snack were carried out discreetly. Everything went smoothly the next morning too. The team was once again extremely professional and at the same time very accommodating. Overall, we can warmly recommend Kevin Elias and the team at Restaurant Schneeweiß.

The Schneeweiß simply has the best alpine cuisine in Berlin. The service is super friendly and sometimes fulfills the special wishes of little guests if you ask nicely. You can take your time and make a reservation in advance.

Great location in the middle of Berlin. Delicious fresh dishes. The service is fundamentally attentive - but also has something planned here and there. But everything is within reason. We felt good.

Super nice staff, very good food

When you enter the Schneeweiß, you quickly understand the connection between the interior design and the name of the restaurant. This is characterized throughout by the color white and reflects a noble touch. At second glance, however, you realize that this appearance is somewhat deceptive and that some of the furniture is definitely getting old, but this does not provide any reason to keep the prices for the food offered in the restaurant correspondingly high. These are still manageable, but in my opinion the price-performance ratio leaves a lot to be desired. The food is in the middle class and tastes good without exception. However, in my opinion, the prices quoted do not correspond to the quality delivered. It feels like the restaurant is trying to portray more than it actually is. But I can highlight the bar area in the back wing of the location, which stands out very much from the actual ambience. One might perhaps assume a break in style at this point, but in this constellation the whole concept seems positively progressive. This definitely invites you to linger and looks stylish and rustic at the same time. In conclusion, I can say that the Schneeweiß is certainly a restaurant that you can visit with a clear conscience, but this area does offer other locations that convince me much more.

Ein schönes Lokal und leckeres Essen. Der Service war leider nicht angemessen. Zunächst mussten wir lange warten, bis wir überhaupt in die Speisekarte schauen konnten. Dann zu fragen ob wir den Wein sofort oder zum Essen haben möchten, war super. Leider wurde sich nicht dran gehalten. Aber das ist nicht schlimm, das passiert. Was uns aber enttäuscht hatte,war dass der Espresso zum Abschluss fast nur aus Kaffeesatz bestand. Kein Drama, hätte man beheben können, jedoch wurde kein Ersatz angeboten und abgerechnet wurde er auch. Das hatten wir nicht erwartet. Insgesamt kam uns der Service etwas unaufmerksam vor. In Restaurants mit ähnlicher Atmosphäre wird Wasser und Wein nachgeschenkt, es wird ab und zu gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung sei und es wird darauf geachtet, ob neues Besteck nach der Vorspeise benötigt wird. Es sind Kleinigkeiten, aber es gehört dazu.

Delicious food, very appetizing, big plates.

Very good restaurant, which is particularly impressive due to the quality of the food. We had the Wiener Schnitzel and the Käsespätzle, both of which were really impressive. The friendly service rounded off the evening. The prices are significantly higher, but also with correspondingly large portions. We sat outside on an early summer evening, but it quickly got a bit dark. But that didn't harm the pleasant atmosphere.

We had the pleasure of booking Kevin and his team's catering for our wedding - and absolutely loved it! 5 stars for the Schneeweiß Berlin. From the first contact to the implementation, everything went smoothly and professionally. Kevin responded to all of our wishes and organized everything perfectly. On the day of the event itself, the staff impressed across the board. Despite the large crowds, the employees remained friendly, courteous and quick at all times. They were always present when you needed them, but without seeming intrusive. A perfect service! And of course the most important thing - the food was super delicious! Everything was fresh, deliciously prepared and wonderfully presented. Our guests were completely satisfied and enjoyed the delicacies. We are completely happy with our decision to stay at Schneeweiß Berlin and can recommend Kevin and his team without reservation. Thank you for this successful catering experience, Kevin!

The best veal schnitzel I've eaten in my entire life

Schnitzel focus! It was quite empty on a weekday, so we enjoyed great care as a group. Service quick and attentive. I thought it was really good here

The tiny amount of fish on the plate did not correspond to any price performance ratio. Have definitely eaten better for such prices. Unfortunately the service wasn't that good either. Somehow the waiters didn't speak. Unfortunately I wouldn't come back.

Here again after a few years: schnitzel perfect! Cheese spaetzle very good. Spinach salad as a starter and bread with butter were delicious. The portions are a bit too big to treat yourself to dessert, unfortunately. Wine list a bit thin. And the ambience could use some freshening up. But the great schnitzel forgives :-)

It's a nice place, definitely on the expensive side, especially for Berlin. For my taste the design could be a bit less "clean", but it works. The servers are very nice and the food was pretty good, only the berries with the goat cheese had some strange taste, but the rest (Käsespätzle and Wiener Schnitzel - we tried the classics) was nicely done. 7.5 euros for a bottle of still water is ridiculous though, even in a pricey restaurant...
