Restaurant Austernperle in Cuxhaven

On August 10th, 2024 I ate the fried pollock fillet with homemade fried potatoes in the “Oyster Pearl”. As a starter I had a 🥗 salad. These fried potatoes are really delicious. You should try this at least once. Fish and salad are also recommended. Everything was very tasty.

Very nicely located restaurant. Food is good, but the portions for children could be larger. 3 nuggets with fries are a bit small for the price of the dish. All other portions are good. Service deserves an A+

After we (2E 3K) were turned away from 4 restaurants from 7:30 p.m. on a Sunday (kitchen already closed, no card payment), we were served perfectly and courteously and cooked deliciously. Absolute recommendation for fish dishes in a maritime atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

The food was really good! We were a little worried about getting the freezer, but after the first piece of fish I was thrilled! The view of the harbor from the terrace is also magical! Thank you very much and keep it up!!!!

First of all: the food is really really good! Unfortunately the restaurant is not hospitable. The door was open and we asked the boss to close it because it was very drafty. Then I just said: not yet. After repeated requests, it was then closed. It gave the impression that the boss didn't care whether his guests felt comfortable. He himself smoked outside and the smoke went inside. I also felt a bit uncomfortable because the boss was always drinking alcohol, and in the end he even smoked IN THE ROOM, even though smoking is banned in German restaurants.

Food OK, the ambience is fine. Very cold in the restaurant because the door was left open and the boss didn't want to close it when asked. The feel-good factor of his guests is probably not important to him. He also drinks a few drinks at the bar and smokes! Very unpleasant not to mention legal. Will definitely not come back and will not recommend this restaurant to others.

Super nice, cozy little restaurant (lots of fish) with a great view. Very “clocky” interior furnishings and very nice staff. Food was super DELICIOUS!! Our best recommendation.

We didn't like it that much. Fish and schnitzel were ok. Fish soup and baked potatoes are not. Service could have been nicer. We won't go here again.

I can only rate my food here. Sea bass with fried potatoes for €24. Either frozen goods or baked to death. I've never had one so rubbery Ate fish. I will probably avoid the restaurant in the future.

Op dit adres zijn er duidelijk managementproblemen. De personele capaciteit in diverse essentiële faceten van het proces is niet afgestemd op de zitcapaciteit van het restaurant. Een van de twee zal bijgesteld moeten worden om wachttijden te voorkomen. Daarnaast zal dit de werkvreugde doen toenemen bij het personeel. Tip. Laat de fooi ook via debitcard lopen dan alleen contant geld. Het personeel loopt onnodig tipgeld mis ondanks de fiscale nadelen. De bediening deed hun best en het eten was best goed, maar we baalde van de lange wachttijden. Doe er wat mee!

nettes, kleines lokal, in dem man wunderbar essen kann, ist nicht ganz preiswert, aber dafür wirklich gut, das einzige manko: für die preise wären 1-2 Eßlöffel mehr von den wunderbaren Bratkartoffeln angebracht, ansonsten alles top, freundliches personal

We picked this restaurant by accident, it was just on our way when we wanted to eat something with Nordseekrabben, which is almost everywhere in this town. The restaurant is good. Portions were quite big, at least my Schnitzel made me well-fed. Probably, in the whole country prices are crazily went up, but in my opinion, disches in this restaurant could be bit cheaper. I wanted to leave some tip, but I had no cash and the old paying device did not accept any tip (which is typical in Germany, so it is good that I could pay my bill at all). Unfortunately, despite of the name of the restaurant, they do not have any oysters.

Lange nicht so gut gegessen, die beste Krabbensuppe ever, ordentliche Portion und reichlich Krabben. Das Schollenfilet und das Schnitzel und vor allem die Bratkartoffeln sehr sehr lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Very tasty food, fresh fish, perfectly prepared. I've tried several fish restaurants in Cuxhaven and no one else can match them in terms of quality, preparation and price/performance ratio. What shouldn't be forgotten is fast, friendly service and a very nice view of the harbor.

Nice service, good food, short waiting time

A really nice place to have an excellent fish meal. The service was also very quick and friendly. The terrace facing the harbor creates a maritime atmosphere. Unfortunately, the toilets are on the first floor and are therefore not wheelchair accessible.

Unfortunately, I had expected more from previous reviews. The schnitzel "Madagascar" was swimming/drowning in a ready-made sauce, which after a short time already formed a skin. My plaice fillets had a strange aftertaste that was unpleasant for me. Fish soup and plaice were ok. The service was very nice. But all in all, you can certainly eat better fish in and around Cuxhaven for 1-2 euros more.

Had the four fish pieces with Bratkartoffeln it was delicious and my wife had baked potatoes and salmon sat outside overlooking the harbour

Ein typischer tourististen Fang. Vom Essen hätte ich viel mehr erwartet. Scholle aus, naja kam passieren. Auf Schollenfilet mit Granat unentschieden. Aber konservierten Granat habe ich nicht erwartet und das an der Küste. Die bestellte Krabbensuppe kam auch nicht. War auch ausverkauft, hat man mir nur nicht mitgeteilt. Salz ist in der Küche wohl auch aus gewesen.

Very nice welcome and very attentive service. I had the fisherman's breakfast with North Sea crabs, scrambled eggs and very tasty fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs were probably from the tetra pack and not browned in the slightest. But that's probably also a matter of taste 🤔. I was very happy with the portion itself.

We come to Cuxhaven often and when we want to eat delicious food, we go to the Austernperle. The crab soup and fried potatoes cannot be found anywhere better and everything else is also the finest. The service is super friendly and quick. Greetings MS Flipper

Four of us had lunch there on Whitsun Sunday and it was fantastic. The seats on the terrace are fantastic with a beautiful view and a very quiet location. The food was perfect for each of us, the service was friendly and helpful. Despite the crowds, the food came quickly, hot and extremely tasty. Highly recommended, we would love to come back :-)

The name of the restaurant doesn't do it justice. The food is actually overpriced and tastes so-so. Going to the toilet there is very adventurous. Construction work definitely needs to be carried out. The waitresses are friendly and try to do their best. All in all: without this location right on the water, the restaurant would already be closed. Sorry guys, but this needs to be said.

Schnitzel: totgebraten/fritiert??? Tolle Krabben drauf und mit einer dicken Schicht Käse überbacken. (Arme Krabben, haben sie nicht verdient). Nudeln mit Lachs: Nudel geschmacklos und zu matschig, Lachs zu lange gebraten, war einfach zu trocken. Kommentar vom Chef: Dafür haben wir Salz und Pfeffer auf dem Tisch. ????? Mein Küchenchef hätte mich fristlos rausgeworfen wenn ich dem Gast das vorgesetzt hätte.

With a direct view of the pleasure boat harbor, the fish specialties taste even better and the attentive and friendly staff do their part to make you feel good.

We really liked the food (redfish fillet and cod fillet). I can only recommend the Austernperle restaurant. We'll be happy to come back when we're in Cuxhaven again.

Normally I never give my opinion. But in this case I definitely have to make an exception. The food is exceptional. Service nice. And great shop. Unfortunately I can “only” give this 5 stars. Will eat here again tomorrow before we head home. We're really looking forward to it.

Delicious starter, crab soup is highly recommended and an absolute must. The main course was also incredibly tasty. The portions are not too big and not too small. The service was attentive and super friendly at all times. The price is completely okay.

Price/performance/taste there is still room for improvement. For that money, not even a small salad... Nope

Heute, am Ostermontag 01.04.2024, gab es Empfehlung des Chefs: Seeteufel Filets mit Bratkartoffeln. Ohne viel Schnick-Schnack. Ganz einfach und allerbester Seeteufel mit Bratkartoffeln, die tatsächlich selbst gebraten waren. Spitze...!

The schnitzels were large and, fortunately, the sauce was not canned but freshly prepared. The mushrooms for the other schnitzel were also fresh. Very friendly service and a harmonious ambience round off the good impression.

The ladies in service were nice. Furthermore, what the supposed “boss” has achieved is second to none. An incorrect order came. We then complained and said that please don't re-serve because the food overall wasn't good. Then came the follow-up service. We then went to the checkout and said that it was very nice, but we would be happy to pay for everything except for the one food item that was complained about. Now the “boss” intervened in a tone that I have never heard before. If we were mobbed, “a German” had to know what he was getting himself into at the court. After some discussion, we paid the full amount because we didn't want to stoop to that level. As I said, nice service from the waitresses. Otherwise you can save yourself the store!

Unpleasant boss. Absolutely disrespectful and condescending when dealing with customers. Food seems to be frozen food and out of a can. Price/performance is absolutely not right.

I ate very well here. The service was very friendly and helpful.

We are regulars in Cuxhaven and have so far been put off by the title “smoking bar”. Wrongly! When we walked in you could smell that people were smoking. But as soon as we were seated, no one was smoking anymore, everyone went outside to smoke! WE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS! Very considerate! The food was first class! Very tasty, great value for money! Recommended! This wasn't our last visit!

Wir haben mit 2 Personen jeweils verschiedenen Fisch gegessen. Beide ausgezeichnet im Geschmack, auf den Punkt gebraten.

Essen super, Service 1A sehr aufmerksam auch manchmal sehr hektisch, trotzdem sehr freundlich.

Die Krabbensuppe war Spitze. Der Fischteller leider nicht. Immer der gleiche Geschmack, trotz der 4 verschiedenen Sorten. Wir hoffen, dass unsere vor Ort getätigte Kritik bis zur Küche angekommen ist. Restaurant hat ein positives Ambiente. Also ausbaufähig.

Ein tolles uriges schönes Lokal, das Essen welches wir hatten war sehr lecker und die Bedienung war einfach nur super. Aufjedenfall weiter zu empfehlen

Wir lagen das erste Mal mit unserem Segelboot im Stadthafen und wollten einfach mal schnell etwas essen. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Fischteller und auch Schnitzel sehr gut, die Bratkartoffel einfach super lecker und große Portionen. Wir kamen gleich ein paar Tage später noch einmal wieder. Man sitzt gut und kann sehr gut dort essen. Etwas schade war das die Majo in einer Minitüte zum aufreissen mit dem Besteck kam. Es wäre schöner etwas mehr auf frisch auf dem Teller oder in einem kleinen Schälchen zu servieren. So kannte ich es von anderen Restaurants...

Nach langer Zeit sind hier mal wieder gelandet und waren sehr überrascht von der positiven Veränderung der Speisekarte und des Service. Zukünftig gehört das Restaurant wieder zu unseren Zielen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhöltnis stimmt, die Qualität und der Geschmack der Speisen war hervorragend.

Als Abschluss unseres Cuxhaven-Ausfluges war die Austernperle genau richtig. Der Fisch war frisch und lecker, die Beilage super und die Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend. Die Lage ist schön - direkt am Wasser und auch drinnen ist das Ambiente sehr urig. Das alles auch noch zu einem guten Preis. Gerne wieder!

Leider war das Wetter schlecht. Aber vor der Tür war der tolle Shanty Chor von Cuxhaven.

Mein erstes Mal in Cuxhaven und ich muss sagen, ich bin schock verliebt. Qualitativ sehr hochwertiges Essen. Ich habe bisher 2 Fischgerichte und einmal Schnitzel gegessen. Die Scholle ist einfach ein Traum, kein bisschen trocken. Die Schnitzel super gebraten und auch schön saftig. Die Rote Grütze ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen und die kann noch lange nicht jeder. Ein erstklassiger Cappuccino. Super nettes Personal, obwohl ich am liebsten den jungen Kellner mag der immer einen lockeren Spruch auf den Lippen hat und jeden Spaß versteht und mit macht. Wir waren in diesem Urlaub bestimmt noch nicht das letzte Mal da und wenn wir wieder in Cuxhaven sind ist das unsere erste Wahl. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team
