We only wanted to have a coffee on Friday afternoon around 4 pm. We hadn't even fully entered when we were immediately told, in a dismissive tone, what was reserved. The young woman was incredibly rude...no guest should have to be treated like that. And we certainly won't be coming back for dinner that evening. What a shame...

We enjoyed a delicious Labskaus (with corned beef!). It was served with a fresh salad and honey mustard dressing. The service was very competent and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the lighting is very pleasant. We felt very comfortable.

We stopped here for a snack at lunchtime. The service was friendly and quick, and the food (garlic bread, waffle with hot cherries) was delicious. The atmosphere is okay, but due to its size, it feels almost like mass catering. Of course, the central location on the waterfront is reflected in the prices, so we opted for a café in Duhnen for the next few days.

There were two of us for the breakfast buffet. The selection was good and it was delicious. We ordered coffee with milk, but only received creamer; we would have preferred regular milk. It wasn't a big deal, though, we just got milk from the buffet. :) All in all, it was a great start to the day for us. We'd love to come back again. :)

I ordered a crab dish. When I asked, I was assured that the crabs were fresh, hence the €1.50 surcharge per dish. What I received was a fisherman's breakfast with fried potatoes, fried eggs, and a salad dressed with vinegar and mustard. And about 20 crabs, purple with a synthetic flavor, probably preserved in brine. Never again. Pure tourist trap.

A very cozy harbor restaurant with a view of the activity in the harbor. Absolutely wonderful service; the young man was extremely attentive and friendly. The crab, crab soup, and baked potatoes were delicious; the mixed fish platter wasn't so great, as the fish was very dry and thinly fried. (Question: Why the surcharge on crab dishes when the fishermen are currently so satisfied with the crab harvest?)

Five stars well deserved! The ambiance is lovely and nautical, the service is incredibly friendly and competent, and the food is also very good and beautifully presented! You feel completely at ease here and are treated very well, whether you're just grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely meal and spending more – here, the guest is truly valued!

The restaurant is large, you are quickly shown to a free table and the food arrives quickly, creating the feeling of a well-run tourist service.

We've been here several times. The food is very good, the staff is very attentive, and there's a beautiful view of the harbor entrance. Highly recommended.

We went there for breakfast yesterday, about three times a month. I asked if they had any white rolls. "No," they said. I'm pretty sure they had white rolls last month and before, but oh well, I guess I'll have to eat dark rolls, it's not the end of the world. The buffet is usually nice and clean, but the sausage was all served on one plate—a small, regular plate—and it was already rancid. I pointed this out. The head chef said it was still good. Another woman said it wasn't appetizing anymore. I then took my fork and lifted it up, showing him the greasy film and the fact that it was still half-frozen. It was simply disgusting. I demanded that it be replaced, otherwise I'd take my phone and take a picture for the health department. Of course, he quickly replaced it, and another customer and I thanked him for it. Naturally, we didn't touch any more sausage there. It's a real shame. We always enjoyed going there for breakfast, but what happened yesterday was just awful. The chef's decision to put something like that out there was unacceptable.

Unfortunately, dogs brought along are often annoying indoors.

The breakfast buffet is the best in terms of quality (and quantity, too, at €23.30 per person) that I can recommend in and around Cuxhaven. The selection of cold cuts, cheeses, and various fish salads is very large and absolutely delicious. While over €23 for breakfast isn't cheap, you get almost everything your heart desires for two hours.

We always enjoy coming for breakfast on weekends. The buffet is fantastic, with delicious fish and other things you'd expect to find at a buffet. Everything is replenished quickly. There's plenty of coffee, and if you like – for an extra charge – many specialty coffees are available.

We've now been to this nice restaurant twice. The prices are on the higher side. €14.50 for curry and fries seems steep to me. The young staff are fun to work with and very friendly and attentive. The second time, we were asked if we had a reservation?? Reserving at 3:15?? Who does that?? Unfortunately, we were only given one seat at a table for two, right in a narrow walkway. When we asked about a table by the window, we were told it was reserved. After 10 minutes, a couple with a dog arrived, simply walked up to the table, and sat down. It wasn't the person who had made the reservation; they would have let us know. Nobody seemed to mind, because the table was reserved, right?? It wasn't, and there was no sign on it. I don't like that; I feel cheated. We only had drinks and didn't eat at that table. What I found amusing was... when the man took his dog onto his lap at the table like a child, the waiter asked him to put the dog down on the floor. That should really go without saying.

A perfect place if you want to enjoy perfect food in a perfect atmosphere, served by exceptionally dedicated and friendly staff. Every single employee was friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. We had chicken with rösti and mushroom cream sauce, as well as the Piervier fish platter. All the dishes were cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. The dessert (panna cotta and New York cheesecake) was also delicious. The cocktails are also highly recommended. Generously mixed, very tasty, and full-bodied. The non-alcoholic cocktails are also impressive. It was our first visit there, and we would definitely come back. Great praise to the kitchen and the service!

Hi! A really lovely restaurant! The food was delicious. We had an appetizer followed by a main course, which was excellent. We received a warm welcome and were served with great care. They kept checking on us to make sure everything was alright. We were also informed that it might take a little longer because they were very busy, which I appreciated. Great restaurant! Despite its proximity to the harbor and tourist attractions, the prices are quite reasonable, and everything is delicious. We went there for a light dinner and opted for two baked potatoes with Mediterranean vegetables. Everything was fresh and very tasty, the homemade sour cream was an absolute delight (and truly lived up to its name!), and the portion size was very generous. On top of that, the service was top-notch (shout-out to Kay!), a young man who clearly enjoys his job, is cheerful, and dedicated. I've rarely experienced such a positive and enthusiastic server. We're from North Rhine-Westphalia, but we love visiting Cuxhaven, and a visit to PIERVIER is always (at least) a must.

We were there, and the service was very friendly. My son, who has celiac disease and has to eat gluten-free for that reason, was very happy with the gluten-free burger. The server was familiar with the situation and was always friendly and able to answer all my questions. He even helped me with the ingredients for the ice cream. Even for us, who don't have to eat gluten-free, it was a very pleasant and satisfying visit to PierVier!

A nice spot to stop for a warming mug of tea (delicious fruit tea) after cycling over from Duhnen. Great views ... Cant comment on the food as we only had drinks but the service was very quick and friendly 👍

A charming restaurant with a unique location directly on the harbor (“Alte Liebe”), which impresses with good cuisine, friendly service and beautiful views

We had breakfast, very friendly staff, nothing was missing, quality was very good.

We were here for lunch. Even in slightly inclement weather, you can sit on the terrace, sheltered from the elements, and you can even take a blanket if it gets too chilly. We had various dishes, such as schnitzel and the fish platter, and everyone enjoyed it. The portions were generous, too. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was worth a visit, and we'll definitely be happy to come back again if we get the chance.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and the service top-notch. We had the fisherman's breakfast and a baked potato with crab. We'd love to come back.

The renovation was worth it! It's a great place to linger and dine. The staff is always friendly. I do have one criticism, though. The fact that card payments are only possible for €15 these days is quite high and, in my opinion, a disgrace. If you don't have any cash on you and just want to stop by for a leisurely coffee... you should think about it. But otherwise, it's top notch.

The food didn't taste "freshly made." Our server could have been a bit friendlier. The location is, of course, great, but the price wasn't quite right.

A very unfriendly waiter wouldn't let us sit outside because it might rain any minute. (It was sunny and 20 degrees Celsius.) When I pointed out that it was my decision anyway, he said, "There's no room for discussion here." We went somewhere else; as a paying customer, I don't need to be treated like that. He obviously loves his job. Never again!

I went to PierVier in Cuxhaven and had a fake chicken burger with fries and a glass of rosé – and I was absolutely thrilled. The food was really well prepared, the burger was delicious, and the fries were perfect. I would especially like to highlight the incredibly attentive service: super friendly, attentive, and warm. The ambiance right on the harbor is also beautiful – maritime, modern, yet cozy. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality and location. A great place for a relaxed meal with a view of the water. I would love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend PierVier!

Years ago, it was a highlight to stop there, back then it was still called "Am Pier." The Piervier still thrives on its location, but unfortunately no longer on its food. Too expensive for me, and the portions are tiny. The quality, okay. Potato soup in a bowl, heated in the microwave, for eight euros, is ridiculous.

A fantastic location! I'd love to come back here! Despite the fact that it was very busy and the service was understaffed, you couldn't tell from the staff! Very friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and the portions are generous, and the value for money is okay! It's a very nice, relaxed atmosphere; you can watch the ships sail by and just enjoy yourself! I'm already looking forward to my next vacation.

Pier Vier is beautifully located and offers a fantastic view of the ships departing for various North Sea islands. In good weather, a spot on the terrace is unbeatable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were there for the breakfast buffet. The buffet was very extensive, everything was refilled promptly, and the hot drinks were very large, so one coffee was enough for each of us and we didn't need a refill.

Highly recommended restaurant in a touristy location, right on the pier where the ships arrive. We reserved a table online without any problems, the service was super friendly, and the food and drinks were extensive. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food; there was plenty of choice, so no one went hungry. We would definitely come back if we were to visit Cuxhaven again.

We ate here a few times during our stay in Cuxhaven and can highly recommend it. The quality, quantity, and price were all just right. Plus, the beautiful location right on the Alte Liebe with a view of the harbor. Simply beautiful.

For us, going to Piervier is a must. We've also noticed that it's becoming more difficult to accommodate the number of guests with fewer staff. We hope that prices will be adjusted accordingly.

We were there last weekend with six adults and two children. The food was great. When I went to pay my bill, there were two extra drinks on it. I didn't have to pay for these, but it was still unfortunate.

We had a very pleasant evening with fantastic food and a wide selection. What truly made the evening stand out, however, was the service. Every single member of staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly friendly. You could always sense that they genuinely care about and enjoy interacting with guests. Whether it was ordering, chatting at the table, or saying goodbye, there was nothing but open and friendly interaction. It was precisely this service that made the evening perfect for us.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and service. The iced coffee didn't have a scoop of ice cream, and the garlic bread (3 small slices of baguette with garlic on it for €5.20 + dip for €2.90) is way overpriced! When the waiter asked if we were satisfied, we explained what we weren't happy with, and all he replied was, "Yeah, that can't be right that there wasn't any ice cream in the iced coffee!" That's a quick way to get rid of your customers!

I really like the dark Pierbier and come only for that. I can't really comment on the food, but the cake was good. The chairs are uncomfortable, and the waiter is unfriendly and inflexible. We only come for the view, as there's a lot of boat traffic there.

We were sent away because the chairs were folded up. We took another table where the chairs were in the correct position. We were also sent away. We were ridiculed in front of other guests. This behavior was outrageous. We then left. People, take your money to hosts who like their jobs.

We visited piervier twice during our vacation. Both times, we used the easy online reservation system. The piervier is located right on the Alte Liebe. You have a great view of the harbor and the Elbe River. A very nice atmosphere. All tables were decorated with fresh flowers. The waiters were very friendly, attentive, and courteous, and they were also super nice to the children. I had the baked potato with sour cream, Mediterranean vegetables, and a side salad. A large portion and incredibly delicious. And for €10.50! Where on earth can you find that these days? We can wholeheartedly recommend piervier and will definitely be back!

Great service, delicious food We've eaten at your restaurant several times, and the food has always been delicious. Excellent value for money. Fast service. As hospitable as you'd expect. Including a Kiba (a beer) and a non-alcoholic shandy, the price for both dishes would be €50. On warm days, the wait can be a bit longer if all the tables are taken or reserved. Reservations are recommended in those cases. The salmon fillet was very well cooked and super tender and juicy. The redfish fillet was also very good, and the fried potatoes were just as you'd expect them. I can't comment on vegan options. Vegetarian options are always available due to the variety of dishes.

We waited a long time to be served, then simply stood on the table and walked away. When it came to paying, we were told to wait until later. We waited another long time, and then they insisted on a better tip.

We had a reservation with a group of 17 people, and it went wonderfully. The service was very attentive and professional! The food was perfect and very tasty. The beer was on tap, cold, and delicious.

The value for money of the food should be reconsidered. The quantity could be a bit higher. The surcharge for crab dishes was displayed on a note at the entrance, not on the menu.

We had reserved a table for breakfast the next day at 9:15 a.m. Upon arrival, we were told that there was no reservation and that everything had been fully booked for a week (!!!).

14 euros! Currywurst seeks sauce and ready-made potato salad from the bucket. Unfortunately, the ambiance is everything here. Positive: the service staff are very friendly and attentive.

A wonderful experience at PIERVIER Cuxhaven - Alte Liebe We had the pleasure of dining at the PIERVIER Cuxhaven - Alte Liebe restaurant last weekend, and we were very satisfied. The location is simply unbeatable, with a fantastic view of the water and the passing ships, creating a truly special atmosphere. The service was very friendly and attentive, and we were completely impressed by the value for money. A particular highlight was the service provided by our employee, Kay Lüttecke. He is not only extremely competent, but also incredibly friendly and always had a smile on his face. His commitment truly made our visit perfect. We can wholeheartedly recommend the PIERVIER Cuxhaven restaurant and wish the entire team continued success!

The first visit was quick and friendly service, but on the second visit, we were unfortunately deliberately ignored for almost 20 minutes. It's a shame we left thirsty. Even three hours before the kitchen closes, they're apparently not allowed to put down the chairs that have been leaned against the wall.

Even though I can't drive past there very often, I have to say it's worth every trip. Superb service, very competent and attentive, and above all, very, very friendly. The selection of dishes is excellent, and the quality of the products provided is far above average. As a hotel professional with over thirty years of experience in international companies, it was a perfect dinner; all the guests had nothing but praise. A tourist trap. The service was even worse than the overpriced food. The dishes were completely unloved and seemed like they were prepared by an amateur chef; they had nothing to do with professional catering. The restrooms were awful. The waiters were constantly chatting with each other or entertaining acquaintances at the bar. The highlight was the two waiters who stood in the entrance, gossiping about their colleagues. Absolutely not recommended for breakfast or dinner.
