The ice cream tastes good, and the price is good. The atmosphere is, of course, great with the view.

Delicious food. The Labskaus is highly recommended. Great service, very attentive.

The breakfast buffet was extensive and very pleasant, as was the atmosphere at the Alte Liebe. Watching ships depart was interesting.

Simply delicious 😋 and super friendly staff. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable, but that doesn't detract from the experience. Always happy to come back.

We were at Piervier today, Thursday, July 3, 2025, around 5:00 PM. All the seats outside by the wall were taken. In the covered area (umbrellas), the seats were barely occupied. Likewise, inside in the main area, only two people were sitting. On the side of the shopping arcade, the chairs were leaning against the tables. From there, you have a wonderful view of the harbor. My wife had barely picked up the first chair when someone called from afar. "There's a reason the chairs are positioned like that!" Not a good evening, hello, excuse me. It's the tone that makes the music, this condescending, conceited call that made you wonder where you ended up. The man named "Bianco" treated you like dirt. He added in the same tone that there was a lack of staff. ``` It wasn't busy, but he had enough time to have long conversations with his colleagues. Whether outside at the door or inside at the counter, where he distracted the other colleagues from their work. There were at least four people inside, working at the counter, two of them cleaning, others still in the kitchen. So much for understaffing? The other three who were still working outside were very nice, polite, and accommodating. He should take a leaf out of their book about how to treat guests. Isn't it sad that I, as a customer, can't decide where I want to sit if the space allows it so I can enjoy the panorama.

Why only 3 stars: My meal: a slice of black bread. On top, a handful of crab. On top, two soft-fried eggs. On the right side of the plate, a gherkin cut into a fan. On the left, two forks of lettuce, one slice of cucumber, and 1/8 of a tomato. The menu listed a hefty €19.90. When I ordered it, I was told that crab dishes were €3(!) more expensive than the menu indicated. Crab was so expensive, and they hadn't yet managed to change the menu. So: €22.90 for the fun of it. It was delicious, though. Service was also okay.

Nope! Plaice was dry, potatoes were cold and flavorless. The burger had to be returned because the meat was half-raw. Only the rice pudding was okay.

Absolutely not. I've been a regular holiday guest at the Pier for over 20 years. Apparently the new tenant now. I ordered a fish platter at Pier 4 today. I've NEVER eaten such bad fish. If I want dried fish, I order it, but what I was served today was the absolute worst. The plain plaice my daughter had wasn't any better, completely dried out, barely cut with a knife. That was my last visit to that restaurant.

It's a very pleasant place to sit, and the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately, the fried fish last night was so dry, and the shell had probably been fried a few times. It's a shame.

Now we, as locals, have tried the PierVier and, unfortunately, have to say, yet another touristy place that locals are better off avoiding. The service was excellent; the young, friendly and attentive staff... But the fish dishes are a world away from a good fish dish. Everything looks the same; in our case, the plaice was soft and mushy (we thought it was frozen) and barely seasoned. The hunter's schnitzel also had hardly any flavor, and the meat was practically unseasoned. So, unfortunately, not a great achievement for Cuxhaven... we won't be back.

Super friendly, relaxed service! The food is highly recommended, and there's a wide selection. As we saw, order and cleanliness are a top priority here. We were very impressed and would gladly return!

Absolutely fantastic café with a fantastic view, a large terrace, and super friendly service! Rare these days... The food and cakes are also delicious, and the seating isn't too crowded, making it perfect for a dog!

The dinner was incredibly delicious. So we thought they'd have a really good breakfast there too... but we were wrong... For €19.80, there was very little choice. We arrived at 9:30 a.m., and they were already out of sausage and very little cheese. The staff had to send someone out to get some. It wouldn't have been so bad, but we only had the table for an hour... No apology from the staff for this.

Absolutely beautiful view of the harbor

Highly recommended. We had the breakfast buffet. Reserved online, and everything worked out perfectly. The view of the harbor rounded it all off. Great service, a fantastic selection, and everything fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, friendly, and very attentive. Since I had a gastric sleeve, it was no problem to pay the child's price. That's important to know for us after surgery. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely restaurant, beautifully located with a view of the harbor and the sea. The outdoor and indoor areas can be used depending on the weather. The service was very friendly and helpful. Perfect for just a drink or a meal. We were very satisfied on two visits.

We were there on June 9, 2025 (Whit Monday) and ordered three cappuccinos and three strawberry ice creams. The cappuccino... Hmmm... the espresso was way too watery, and the milk foam was more like cotton wool (very bland), not tasting of milk at all. The strawberry sundae was about half full with one (!!!!!) finely sliced ​​strawberry, two scoops of strawberry ice cream, and a bit of whipped cream. After we complained, we were compensated with a huge sundae with at least five strawberries, properly quartered, and two scoops of ice cream (on the house). The server was very understanding and friendly; we couldn't complain. Still, it's questionable whether we'll come back again.

Lots of waiters, unfortunately most of them are overwhelmed or have no idea what to do. Tells that we've been waiting for 45 minutes are dismissed with a lack of staff. The comment that the ordered drink (Alster) didn't arrive even after 30 minutes - the answer: it'll come - the bill is wrong (it said more than we had). Conclusion: We've been coming here for over 20 years - the quality has been declining for the last five years - even the new name or operator doesn't help - everything comes to an end eventually - we won't be coming here again.

Surprisingly good for a restaurant in the front row. The food and drink selection is very extensive, and our dishes were all excellent. What was particularly striking, however, was the friendly and prompt service. Many thanks to Marei for the great service. Highly recommended.

We went to Piervier twice today. We had a quick bite to eat for lunch after arriving in Cuxhaven. The outdoor seating was nice and sheltered, with a view of the water and the ships. Very friendly and attentive service. The food was delicious and plentiful. The price/performance ratio was good, in our opinion.

Friendly staff and a great location. I've had much better panfish and a much better curry dish elsewhere, though. Strange: If you want to use the restroom, you can't just go through the open patio door; instead, you have to take a longer detour through the main entrance. This is clearly signposted, and the staff pays attention to this rule. It certainly makes sense, but it still seems absurd.

Great location, overlooking the water. The service was fast and friendly. The seating wasn't exactly conducive to lingering. The food was good. Large portions, although the Labskaus was a bit dry. The potato salad and cucumber salad lacked zest (perhaps it would do the chef good to fall in love again 😉 - salt).

Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied. The buffet served expired cream cheese. They removed it upon request, but there was no replacement. They were sorry, but they were out of any other cream cheese. My little daughter currently eats nothing else on her bread roll. The wet wipes had been expired since August 2024. The whole basket was full. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs are now cooked in the same pan as the bacon, so as a vegetarian, I don't want to eat them. The rolls were gone incredibly quickly, and it took a very long time to refill them. Not a single food item at the buffet was labeled. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and only came to the table when beckoned. They didn't ask if everything was okay or if we wanted to order anything else. All in all, we were incredibly disappointed. We used to enjoy breakfast at Am Pier. But Pier Vier raised the prices while simultaneously lowering the quality. It's a real shame.

The soup was lukewarm, the fish was almost cold, and the fries were cold. Both were dripping with grease. Sad for the price.

Sorry. But the steak in the first attempt was 300g and had almost 50 percent fat content. The 2nd attempt wasn't even close to 300g. I like to eat well and often, but here, after a major disappointment, there wasn't even enough for a tip. 95 bill for 2 currywurst, 1 burger, a steak plus a drink each. The statement that the service is really ambitious is of no use if the kitchen is overwhelmed by apparently new chefs. It's a shame for the price and performance that day

Breakfast buffet highly recommended. My girlfriend paid with a card and the waiter apparently didn't like that at all (because of the tip?) and his smile was gone. I paid in cash and was waiting for change so I could then give him a tip and he gave it up and then walked away without saying a word, we couldn't look that quickly... That had a very strange aftertaste. And we didn't give him a tip either... that's why service deducted 1 star... Otherwise everything was great 😊

We were there on Sunday afternoon. 04/27/25 on site. We sat down at a free table in the sun. After 15 minutes a very strong gentleman finally came and said the area was closed. We weren't the only ones. Another couple was also chased up. We replied that the other places in the sun were occupied. He said he didn't care and we should get up! He tore the tables between us apart and we stood up. No further place was offered. We are 2 entrepreneurs from Cuxhaven who were more than frightened and drove with our wives. Unbelievable but no matter who this happens to... it's unacceptable! If handled sensibly, this wouldn't have been a problem. But just awesome!!

A great restaurant in an excellent location with a view of the large ships arriving and departing! We were there several times, there were delicious cakes from the buffet for our early coffee, and a generous portion of redfish fillet for the evening. The side dishes can be exchanged for a small extra charge, our fried potatoes were crispy and without bacon, the boiled potatoes were tossed in butter, hmm... The drinks menu is very large. Despite it being full, we were served quickly, special praise goes to Josh, an attentive employee with charm and wit! We will definitely come back next time we visit Cux

The food tastes delicious and with the beautiful view, the PIERVIER is always worth a visit. Additionally, the staff is incredibly nice and attentive. Absolute recommendation!

It's actually a nice place, but last year we were sent away because it was half an hour before the kitchen closed, but you could still have had a drink. And today, a year later, we were there long before the kitchen closed, but the waiter asked us not to sit there but just on the outside because only one waitress would be working and that wouldn't be possible! It's just a shame that these places are unsuitable for wheelchair users because the tables are too close together! And if you stand at the head of the table with your wheelchair, you're in the way. Very unfortunate.

Waiter Josh is not nice at all. Anyone who doesn't order straight away will quickly be thrown out of the restaurant. I don't want to visit this place again as long as this waiter works there.

Unfortunately the iced coffee is a disaster. It tasted old and stale. A scoop of ice cream, cream and you're done. No coffee liqueur, no sauce or similar cream, no waffle. Too expensive at 6.20. Service...well. There was no question whether everything was okay. 14,-paid without one, that's right. She left without any change. She didn't need to give it to us either. That was pretty cheeky. That was in March and not all places were filled. Take an example from the Arctic Ocean.

All I can say to the owner's answer is that if I had told the restaurant staff that the potato salad didn't taste good, they wouldn't have been able to help me. The salad tastes just like an industrially produced salad tastes. Maybe change the company/brand

The waiter Bianco is aggressive and threatens guests. I've never experienced anything like that. He definitely doesn't have his emotions under control. Furthermore, he introduced himself as the owner of the land, which is certainly not correct. The other cellars are nice and friendly, eat drink and promenade is very good. The skills shortage is at its best.

This time we were a bit disappointed. A children's plate had a huge schnitzel with lots of fries where the rice pudding portion was for mice. The fried fish was dripping with fat and the bruschetta didn't taste good either. Very unfortunate. Our reserved table wasn't free yet and we had to sit in the aisle where everyone was walking. We won't be coming back for a while.

We stopped here spontaneously during a short stay in Cuxhaven. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly. I especially recommend the evening menu for vegetarians. While other restaurants along the coast usually only serve fish, vegetarians have a wider selection here.

We wanted to sit outside at 4:00 p.m. and order food. The man, wearing a thick quilted jacket, told us he wouldn't be serving outside anymore because it was too cold. So we had to take our order for two meals and drinks from another restaurant.

A lovely restaurant in a great location. The staff is friendly, unfortunately a bit intrusive, but attentive. It's not nice to be asked 10 times in 15 minutes whether you've already chosen something, you can see that when the card is closed on the table. The ambience and the view of the small harbor is very nice. Unfortunately the rest is just mediocre. The prices are not justified by the quality. We had the fish with potato salad and the Holsteiner Schitzel. The potato salad tastes just like it tastes from a bucket. You can also make one yourself cheaply. The taste of the fish and meat wasn't what you would actually like. The fried potatoes were good. Unfortunately, I don't think it's very unlikely that people will stop there again.

First something positive: the restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. The waiter was very friendly....but.....unfortunately he hardly knew the menu and had to keep reassuring himself in the kitchen! For food: I had the tacos. All 3 tasted the same even though they were different! Unfortunately we had to endure the owner's complaining all evening. Apparently he wasn't that enthusiastic about his chef, which I could understand after the tacos! ;) if the owner doesn't celebrate his chef... it can't be good...!

Good service, lovely waiters, good food, reasonable prices, nice ambience with pleasant music, I can only recommend it. Of course the view of the Elbe is the highlight. We didn't have to wait long for our food and it was tasty and fresh.

We went to PierVier twice for breakfast. Reservations are recommended on weekends. The location of PierVier is great with a view of the water and harbor. The prices for the breakfast buffet depend on the amount of coffee/tea/cocoa you drink. The buffet leaves nothing to be desired and everyone will find something that suits them. The staff is friendly, quick and attentive. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.

After the owner changed, we tried again. But unfortunately it was a disaster. Cheapest sausage, no refills in a reasonable time. The meat salt wasn't refilled at all. I didn't even try the Mett, it looked so scary. When asked, the chef probably didn't have time because he had to accept goods. The salmon was the cheapest product. Breakfast costs €19.80 per person. This is an outrage. Glasses were dirty, they stuck to the glass tray. No, something like that is a rip-off. Maybe the health department should take a look there. I don't even know what it looks like in the kitchen.

Had a very tasty dinner. All dishes were of good quality and very tasteful. The service was super attentive and friendly and always had a kind word. Price performance is therefore very good and a great recommendation for Cuxhaven.
