Restaurant Am Pier Cuxhaven - Alte Liebe in Cuxhaven

Unfortunately the iced coffee is a disaster. It tasted old and stale. A scoop of ice cream, cream and you're done. No coffee liqueur, no sauce or similar cream, no waffle. Too expensive at 6.20. Service...well. There was no question whether everything was okay. 14,-paid without one, that's right. She left without any change. She didn't need to give it to us either. That was pretty cheeky. That was in March and not all places were filled. Take an example from the Arctic Ocean.

All I can say to the owner's answer is that if I had told the restaurant staff that the potato salad didn't taste good, they wouldn't have been able to help me. The salad tastes just like an industrially produced salad tastes. Maybe change the company/brand

We spontaneously went to Pier Vier and got a seat straight away. The food was soooo delicious and the service was top notch! A great atmosphere with great food ☺️ Thank you very much and we'll be happy to come back!

Everything was fine until Bianco came. I have never met such an unfriendly person in a restaurant.

The waiter Bianco is aggressive and threatens guests. I've never experienced anything like that. He definitely doesn't have his emotions under control. Furthermore, he introduced himself as the owner of the land, which is certainly not correct. The other cellars are nice and friendly, eat drink and promenade is very good. The skills shortage is at its best.

This time we were a bit disappointed. A children's plate had a huge schnitzel with lots of fries where the rice pudding portion was for mice. The fried fish was dripping with fat and the bruschetta didn't taste good either. Very unfortunate. Our reserved table wasn't free yet and we had to sit in the aisle where everyone was walking. We won't be coming back for a while.

Went here just to have a coffee and were very impressed by the friendliness, the ambience and the location in the maritime center of Cuxhaven. It was a great end to the walk at the “Alte Liebe”. 👍

We stopped here spontaneously during a short stay in Cuxhaven. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly. I especially recommend the evening menu for vegetarians. While other restaurants along the coast usually only serve fish, vegetarians have a wider selection here.

We wanted to sit outside at 4:00 p.m. and order food. The man, wearing a thick quilted jacket, told us he wouldn't be serving outside anymore because it was too cold. So we had to take our order for two meals and drinks from another restaurant.

Food is good but dogs are not very welcome, on the contrary... not even outside on the terrace, it's a shame, it ruins everything, it was the last time we were there

I ordered today daily recommendation. It was too tightly fried fish file, had to be 4 different types of fish... it tasted like one kind. I felt that the food was prepared without “love”.

A lovely restaurant in a great location. The staff is friendly, unfortunately a bit intrusive, but attentive. It's not nice to be asked 10 times in 15 minutes whether you've already chosen something, you can see that when the card is closed on the table. The ambience and the view of the small harbor is very nice. Unfortunately the rest is just mediocre. The prices are not justified by the quality. We had the fish with potato salad and the Holsteiner Schitzel. The potato salad tastes just like it tastes from a bucket. You can also make one yourself cheaply. The taste of the fish and meat wasn't what you would actually like. The fried potatoes were good. Unfortunately, I don't think it's very unlikely that people will stop there again.

We had a nice breakfast here. The reception was friendly. Our wish of a sea view was fulfilled. The waitress fulfilled our wishes with our special diet, which is very rare.👍👍👍 Reservation is required.

Incredibly good. Huge portions at a more than fair price and the food tastes very tasty. Reservations are strongly recommended, but you can always get a seat for two if a wait of 2-5 minutes is not a problem.

First something positive: the restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. The waiter was very friendly....but.....unfortunately he hardly knew the menu and had to keep reassuring himself in the kitchen! For food: I had the tacos. All 3 tasted the same even though they were different! Unfortunately we had to endure the owner's complaining all evening. Apparently he wasn't that enthusiastic about his chef, which I could understand after the tacos! ;) if the owner doesn't celebrate his chef... it can't be good...!

1 star because I could almost have ordered something. But at least I was allowed to sit there for half an hour.

Everything is great! Despite the tourist area, the prices are completely reasonable. The food is served beautifully prepared and tastes good too :-)! But what impressed me most was the service! Thanks for the hospitality!

Good service, lovely waiters, good food, reasonable prices, nice ambience with pleasant music, I can only recommend it. Of course the view of the Elbe is the highlight. We didn't have to wait long for our food and it was tasty and fresh.

We went to PierVier twice for breakfast. Reservations are recommended on weekends. The location of PierVier is great with a view of the water and harbor. The prices for the breakfast buffet depend on the amount of coffee/tea/cocoa you drink. The buffet leaves nothing to be desired and everyone will find something that suits them. The staff is friendly, quick and attentive. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.

After the owner changed, we tried again. But unfortunately it was a disaster. Cheapest sausage, no refills in a reasonable time. The meat salt wasn't refilled at all. I didn't even try the Mett, it looked so scary. When asked, the chef probably didn't have time because he had to accept goods. The salmon was the cheapest product. Breakfast costs €19.80 per person. This is an outrage. Glasses were dirty, they stuck to the glass tray. No, something like that is a rip-off. Maybe the health department should take a look there. I don't even know what it looks like in the kitchen.

Had a very tasty dinner. All dishes were of good quality and very tasteful. The service was super attentive and friendly and always had a kind word. Price performance is therefore very good and a great recommendation for Cuxhaven.

Great location, unfortunately an absolute rip-off! The breakfast buffet is absolutely clear. When we got there at around 9:45 a.m., the buffet was empty. When asked, they said the buffet would be refilled immediately. After about 10 minutes, only a small portion of salmon and a small portion of scrambled eggs were added, but unfortunately the rest was still not clear. The meat looked as if it had been on the buffet for 3 days. There was perhaps a spoonful left in the bowl with the meat salad, but it wasn't refilled. Other guests also asked several times whether anything would be refilled. After a while the rest was filled up. It was then said that the chef had to accept a delivery, so it wouldn't have been possible sooner. The cheese platter consisted of 3 types, the sausage platter also only consisted of 3 types. The quality of the food offered was not very good. The only positive thing was the fresh fruit salad. The juice/water glasses were on the shelf and stuck to each other, very unpleasant! At 10:45 a.m. it was announced that breakfast was about to end. You should take something else now, there would be nothing left in a moment. So honestly, for a price starting at €19.60 and up for the breakfast buffet on offer is absolutely excessive. It's really not recommended.

We went for a walk and then got a seat at the restaurant at short notice to drink coffee and eat waffles. What friendly and great service. Cakes, waffles and ice cream were delicious and there was a nice view too. Very happy again!!!

Very tasty, the bowl is vegan without dressing, vinegar and oil were served with it. Large portions. Very tasty mocktails.

There were four of us there on New Year's Eve. Actually it was nice and the food was okay. But the waitress was very loud, busy with herself and her conversations. As a guest you don't want to feel like you have to rush, but unfortunately we had the feeling that we had to leave during the meal because they wanted to close. Everything was collected and cleaned while we ate. Shortly before 9 p.m. we asked again whether it was actually open until 10 p.m. as agreed over the phone. It's a shame, because everything started very promisingly with the starter, which was really very good 👍We'll be happy to come back, maybe we just had a bad day.

It's a nice restaurant with good food. The terrace is an absolute magnet in summer. It's definitely nice to take a break there.

My husband and I wanted to have a leisurely breakfast between the holidays. That's why we decided on pier four. We had already been there and really liked it. But this time it wasn't like that. The breakfast was OK. Quite expensive, but you know that when you stop there. Our problem was the table. I had reserved a table for two people for two hours as my favorite guest. We also knew that it would be full. The table was right at the entrance behind the reservation terminal. We sat right against the wall and next to the counter. The phone was constantly ringing and reservations were being made. There was a terrible draft there because the door naturally opened and closed. All in all, it was out of the question to have a conversation with my husband because the noise level from constant phone calls was extremely high. We didn't make the most of our two hours. I would have preferred it if they had said there were no tables left. So we basically sat in the hallway. That wasn't nice. Therefore one point deducted.

We were super satisfied, the food was attractively served and extremely tasty. The staff overall was very friendly and customer focused. We felt comfortable and will be happy to come back.

Great ambience right next to the “Alte Liebe”. The service was really nice and friendly, unfortunately our fried fish was very dry and not good. We were probably just unlucky, because all the other dishes at the other tables looked really great. Update: Of course we ate there again because we had to have a second chance. 😉 We wouldn't be disappointed. We had meat dishes that were not only fabulously prepared, but also tasted delicious.👍🏻 In addition, we were again served super nice and friendly. Thank you, we'll be happy to come back on our next visit to Cuxhaven.

At the beginning of October 2024 we had a great evening in the restaurant 'Am Pier' with my wife and our two children. The food was really delicious and we were impressed with every dish. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. We particularly liked that the waiter was in such a good mood - it made us feel very welcome straight away. Another highlight was the direct view of the harbor, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant. It was an all-round successful experience that we would happily recommend!

The food is great every time! Unfortunately the staff wasn't as friendly as in previous years. When we had just finished eating, the waiter slammed a “Reserved” sign on the table right in front of me, according to the motto, that’s enough time. Unfortunately there are no more cocktails either!

We stopped here after our bike tour. Nice large outdoor area with a view of the water. The service was very friendly. The food was disappointing, crab soup was okay, the hash browns with the matjes tasted completely like deep fryer fat and were also too heavily fried, the side salad had no dressing. The dressing I ordered had an indefinable taste. The fish on the sailor's plate was fried to death. For the price, the performance simply has to be right. We do not recommend anyone.

We were here twice for dinner. The location and the building are really great! We didn't have to make a reservation because there was always plenty of space. We always found something to eat. This wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't bad either. Good average. It was plentiful and tasted good too. The tea is really good! The staff was friendly and attentive. 👍🏻

The stay appealed to us. It's nice to sit here when the sun is shining. Service was also friendly, we didn't have to wait long. The taste of the food was okay, but we couldn't finish our fried potatoes. They were very greasy. The whole plate was full of fat, just not nice and not recommended for people with stomach problems.

Good morning, Fish and chips? Rarely served as badly as here. Breading was thick but the fish portion was rather thin, looked a lot like Conviniens. The location is good, service is rather agitated and no questions are asked as to whether the food ordered is ok. We have known the restaurant for a very long time, you can tell that the management has changed, as the saying goes: everything used to be better.

Die Speisen sind mehr 0815, aber OK. Man bekommt meistens auch ohne eine Reseriverung noch einen Tisch, zumindest drinnen. Es gibt eine Vielzahl wechselnder Bedienungen, die aber meistens ziemlich freundlich und motiviert sind.

The restaurant actually looks quite stylish and is a good way to pass the time until a booked boat tour starts at the nearby pier. But I was very disappointed with the food. I had a cheeseburger with fries. The fries were okay, but the burger had little taste and was quite tough. Unfortunately, most burgers from discount stores taste better in the microwave.

Of course a very nice view. The service was there quite quickly, even though the outside area was not yet occupied. I just had something to drink.

We were there today around 4:15 p.m. Not recommended. Service was very unfriendly and rude. We left without eating anything. We ate there days before. This was almost inedible. Fish as hard as a schnitzel and the fried potatoes were almost floating off the plate with fat. Fries were cold.

Spontaneously had dinner at Am Pier, price/performance ratio is there. Had Viennese style schnitzel with hollandaise and it was very tasty!!! A fantastic pork schnitzel, nice and thin and tender in a not excessive breading. Absolutely recommended!! The service was also extremely attentive, friendly and competent!!!

Unfortunately, the service and offer of the breakfast buffet this year were not as good as last year... There were still enough free tables, but unfortunately the one we reserved was a bit too small for two people and several plates. So maybe don't make a reservation beforehand and choose a larger table on site ;) The service staff's promise to clear away the empty plates in the meantime was not fulfilled. A flat rate for hot drinks only makes sense if you can order them later... It's a shame - the ☕ tastes really good. There was also a selection at the buffet not very varied. Last year everything was fine.

The location is good, but otherwise it's rather mass-produced with lots of fried foods. The currywurst was very tough, the fries were dry, the pan fish was dry, the fried potatoes were raw. On the second visit, the rösti was dripping with fat, and the fish plate was also too dry again. Price/performance is simply inadequate.

I had the cauliflower bowl. Cauliflower, after which the dish is named, had maybe 4 florets on it. The rice was eaten in 3 spoonfuls. Absolutely not justified for the price.

Directly located in front of the departure points of the Heligoland ferry. Good coffee, good friendly staff. We were satisfied

Unfortunately, after eating the Cauliflower bowl, I didn't feel well for four days because I had severe stomach cramps and gastrointestinal problems shortly after eating it.
