The only thing I liked there was the view I ordered an iced coffee, but it wasn't really an iced coffee. I didn't even like it and the price was just under €7 for not even a 0.3l glass. When I asked about the card, the answer only came from 15€ Otherwise the fees are probably too expensive for them. That's why I didn't tip.

There really wasn't much going on, but unfortunately we were ignored for a while and served after a long wait. Afterwards the condition was unfortunately really rude. Too bad :( The iced coffee is also not recommended in terms of price-performance ratio

I ate here because of the good reviews and the good location. The location is really great, the service too, but I was dissatisfied with the food. I had the fried fish with fries and tartar sauce. The fries were okay and so was the tartar sauce. The fried fish didn't work at all. It was fried to death, it was just dry and hard and I sometimes had problems even cutting it. I couldn't finish it all because it was just hard. Another negative thing I noticed was that the music was very loud.

Lying directly in front of the Alte Liebe you can watch the ships while you eat. The food itself is quite good and the price is just about acceptable. But prices have risen in general, and not just in Cuxhaven. Update 08/2024: unchanged.

The terrace is very nice on the pier and the interior is very pretty and modern. When we visited, the waitresses were often too busy with themselves for my taste. You felt forgotten. The food on my fish platter was good average, only the grilled vegetables were swimming in their own fat but tasted good. That's why overall only 4 stars. Perfect and 5 ☆ is different.

Located right at the harbor, super friendly employees, you can immediately tell they enjoy their work and a great meal for a very fair price! You can eat inside or outside... both are extremely comfortable! We are already looking forward to our next visit to a great restaurant!

We had breakfast there because there were 3 options: 1x without a hot drink, 1x with a hot drink and then all-inclusive, since one of us doesn't drink hot drinks at all, we liked this offer. So we ordered one without and one all-inclusive. The waitress asked if she should bring two hot drinks. No, first one and when that's all the other, since one person doesn't drink them. Finally, the all-inclusive order was ordered. another coffee. When it came to paying, the big end came: the middle-aged blonde saleswoman wanted to charge a hot drink for everyone - an unthinkable surcharge on top of the all-inclusive for the last coffee. We asked why she divided it up like that and not all-inclusive and once without the hot drink as it was. She always talked her way out of it. She even said that the second hot drink was ordered for the wife. Which wasn't true because 1. my wife doesn't drink coffee and 2. I ordered it directly for myself and said this from the start. Then she stopped once that she had already entered it when ordering and couldn't change it. Finally she said that she couldn't see what anyone was drinking. As often as they brought it to the table and asked if everything was okay, she only saw that the man drinks. It's outrageous and full how she grinned. That's how you can also earn a tip, €4.80. Hence the tip: just don't offer it without a hot drink if you don't charge for it. Therefore not recommended.

The food was very tasty but also very expensive. Ambience is okay. Service was friendly.

We had arranged to meet for breakfast in a larger group. Nothing was missing. The offer is plentiful and always replenished. Unfortunately the waitress responsible for our table was not there attentive. The drink replenishment was inadequate despite the flat rate.

My wife and I, like so many vacationers, visited this restaurant. The ambience is absolute 5*. But this can't do anything for the restaurant. The rating here is very sad. 2* for service and food. Why? We ordered Plaice Büsumer style for 28,- and I ordered burgers with fried fish for (I think) 15,-. The waiting time was ok, there was a lot going on, so you should be flexible. BUT, the fried fish was cold. I complained about this. He came back after a few minutes with a "warmer fried fish" and said we swapped it... "swapped" I thought? Fries cold, bread cold, because they haven't seen any heat for 15 minutes. Gastronomically an absolute disaster. Re-do it, done. But this was not good. My wife had her plaice, with lots of bones and other things. A very thick and large one. Everyone should be aware of bones when it comes to fish. At 28, you would think that the staff would at least try to remove a few. Therefore finish 2* instead of actually 3* (5+2+2=9 9:3= 3*). We will HAVE to find another restaurant tomorrow. PS: Unfortunately, pictures had a massive red cast due to the red screen.

The restaurant has deteriorated compared to the previous years we were in Cuxhaven. The food no longer tastes good. We ordered a currywurst with fries and the currywurst was ice cold and the fries were totally soggy.

Unfortunately there are no longer any fries and burgers available, but this meant we were able to try out new dishes, which all in all were very tasty! Only the pork medallions were quite dry. The price is a bit high, but still within reasonable limits for the location. Can definitely be recommended.

Rude and rude service. We wanted to sit on the outside terrace around 8 p.m. and were "complimented away"! Like in the GDR: you are placed! "Please go under the umbrellas, there's supposed to be a thunderstorm. We already have a lot of sick staff...then the others don't have to get sick too if they have to walk through the rain." Then the wrong drinks were “served”! In short: miserable service and pure tourist rip-off...you can safely forget it. True to the motto: “Be careful, the customer threatens to order!”

Very tasty fried fish that made you forget the extraordinary waiting time! The bouillabaisse was also great. The view of the Elbe is great, even if you sometimes have to look around a few pieces of equipment. Always interesting ships on the move. The service was very friendly and relaxed. You can go there!

This restaurant relies on its good location. Food is kept very simple. Even the Aperol wasn't mixed properly and didn't taste good. Service isn't particularly nice either.

Went there for dinner twice at Easter 2024. Registration was necessary because there is obviously a lot going on over the holidays. Atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice. If you sit appropriately, you have a direct view of the sea. The dishes are very tasty and rich in quantity. The service was very friendly despite the hectic pace of the holiday. All in all, a clear recommendation.

We are in a real tourist magnet here. You expect a good snack. But what you get is something completely different: friendly and open-minded service, an extensive menu and delicious, good food from currywurst to fish platters. We were super satisfied, the food was attractively served and extremely tasty. The staff overall was very friendly and customer focused. We felt comfortable and will be happy to come back.

We sat near the entrance in the outdoor area in the area where the seating was NOT raised and therefore the seats were obviously in the area to be served. A lady sat two meters next to us and was served several times. We were consistently ignored for 15 minutes despite making eye contact with several employees. This was also the case last year. A pity. A friendly hint from the staff would have been enough if the seats were too far away for the staff to serve...we ate somewhere else.

I was with my family for the breakfast buffet at "am Pier". The restaurant asks for prior reservation, which is understandable and then you can plan. You then give the opportunity to choose the time, so far everything is fine. I specified 10 a.m. and was then able to choose how long we wanted to have breakfast. They offered 2 hours. It's pleasant, so you don't have to rush. What was strange was that they state 9am to 11am is breakfast. But by choosing the 2 hours, I thought, OK, then you can probably use the buffet in peace. Unfortunately a misconception. At 10am the buffet looked very looted but there was still some food available. 20 minutes later there was almost nothing left and we had to see what else we could eat from the sparse selection. When it came to the drinks flat rate, the waiters didn't feel the need to come past the table or to say at 11 a.m. that it was now possible to order something else... a disappointment for 23.30 euros. Just the service. The plates were hardly cleared in between, you had the feeling you would be bothering the waiters if you ordered more yourself. No recommendation or go straight at 9am...maybe it's better then.

We ate twice this week and were extremely satisfied. It was great. I had crab soup and a fish plate twice and the soup twice and then rump steak..... Awesome The staff was just great and very pretty

The staff is very friendly, the food comes quickly. The food tastes good, but not outstanding. The mustard sauce from the panfish was very strong and very little; I would have preferred it the other way around. The fried fish was crispy but a bit dry. However, I won't visit the place again because the music is absolutely terrible and way too loud. It's a shame how music can ruin a restaurant like that. The music is rap in a foreign language, I think it's Turkish.

Had made a reservation and it worked wonderfully. Nice service, good cuisine, reasonable prices. We will 100% come back.

I was on July 2nd, 2024 at 9:15 p.m., 45 minutes before closing, in this restaurant to have a quick drink before the AIDA arrives in Cuxhaven. I was told that unfortunately nothing will be served anymore. A joke, 45 minutes before closing time.

The fried potatoes not only without bacon but also without salt, the three pieces of "fillet" fried hard on the outside and dry on the inside (also unseasoned). My conclusion- I won't come again.

The location is very good, the service, at least ours, was also very nice. Deduction for my food. The bouillabaisse that was served to me was a fish soup and far from a bouillabaisse. I could only recognize two or a maximum of three types of fish, no trace of shrimp or mussels at all and the stock tasted more like vegetables than fish. €15.50 for that is outrageous. Two days ago I had a fish soup in the "Seuten Deern" for €9.50 that was significantly better than this "Bouillabaisse"!

Great ambience right in front of the Alte Liebe with a view of the ships passing by. Unfortunately my fried fish wasn't that good. The service staff was so attentive that I received a replacement immediately. Really very attentive.

Were there for the breakfast buffet. It was very crowded and the staff was completely overwhelmed. There were no more clean plates and it took forever to make rolls. The price is also pretty steep because you pay an additional 3.50 for a cappuccino and coffee with milk.

Stopped here today in the most wonderful weather. We were able to enjoy the terrace outside in the sunshine and marvel at the activity in the harbor and on the water. The table was cleaned immediately after our predecessors and we were able to sit down straight away. We were served quickly and friendly and ordered the Cuxhavener Pannfisch and the Pier beer. Everything was to our satisfaction, we can't complain about anything. It was delicious and appetizingly prepared and we would eat here again at any time.

We wanted to have lunch on April 24th, 2024 and had already discovered a table by the window with a view of the "Alte Liebe". The table was not reserved. Nevertheless, we were supposed to be assigned 2 seats in the interior by another colleague. We refused and left. "You're being placed!" is nowhere to be read. We no longer recommend this restaurant. 10 minutes later we counted 3 people at the table of 6, which the two of us were denied. Does the nose factor apply here? Grade 6, sit!

As a regular customer for years who always spends between €40-60 during his visit, we have to say that there can no longer be any question of service. If the restaurant is 1/4 full, you will be assigned seats in the back row. It would be understandable if the store was open during the high season. But not allowing 2 people to sit at a table of four is not acceptable. This means they have lost a long-time regular customer. If they can afford it?

Breakfast buffet has become outrageously expensive, look for other breakfast buffet options

A very nice restaurant with the best view (Alte Liebe, harbor). There is something for everyone here (meat, fish, vegetarian, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, cake...). The staff was very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is also great (inside and outside). Unfortunately, there are no disabled parking spaces in the immediate vicinity, so parking quickly becomes very expensive. We will be back definitely.

After a visit to the harbor, we spontaneously wanted to eat in this restaurant, which was nice from the outside. There wasn't much going on, we thought the sign at the entrance saying staff were sick and therefore understaffed was a nice hint, but we weren't stressed anyway, so we were prepared to wait. Unfortunately, we were told rather rudely not to sit at the window because there were only two of us and the window tables were for four. Ok, if the place had been full or there were crowds of people outside who could rush in, I would understand that, BUT out of 20 possible tables, 5 (!!!) were occupied. An older couple who came after us also wanted to sit on another table, so the waitress pushed the tables apart and said: The boss makes the rules, not me. So dear boss of this restaurant: This rule is inappropriate and incomprehensible. Where I sit doesn't matter. Sure, I understand that in high season when everything is full, but not on a day when there's hardly anything going on. You drove us away, we eat somewhere else. I would have left money lying around, you didn't want it. Read my reviews, I get around a lot.

Card payment from 15 euros. Service only on request. But the view of the harbor is great!
