Highly recommended restaurant in a touristy location, right on the pier where the ships arrive. We reserved a table online without any problems, the service was super friendly, and the food and drinks were extensive. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food; there was plenty of choice, so no one went hungry. We would definitely come back if we were to visit Cuxhaven again.

We ate here a few times during our stay in Cuxhaven and can highly recommend it. The quality, quantity, and price were all just right. Plus, the beautiful location right on the Alte Liebe with a view of the harbor. Simply beautiful.

We were there last weekend with six adults and two children. The food was great. When I went to pay my bill, there were two extra drinks on it. I didn't have to pay for these, but it was still unfortunate.

For us, going to Piervier is a must. We've also noticed that it's becoming more difficult to accommodate the number of guests with fewer staff. We hope that prices will be adjusted accordingly.

We had a very pleasant evening with fantastic food and a wide selection. What truly made the evening stand out, however, was the service. Every single member of staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly friendly. You could always sense that they genuinely care about and enjoy interacting with guests. Whether it was ordering, chatting at the table, or saying goodbye, there was nothing but open and friendly interaction. It was precisely this service that made the evening perfect for us.

I really like the dark Pierbier and come only for that. I can't really comment on the food, but the cake was good. The chairs are uncomfortable, and the waiter is unfriendly and inflexible. We only come for the view, as there's a lot of boat traffic there.

We visited here three times during our stay in Cuxhaven, and it was fantastic every time! The food and drinks always arrived quickly, were delicious, and the portions were always just right for us. The potato soup, in particular, is highly recommended. The waiters and waitresses are all super friendly and very helpful. A special thank you to Kay and Amir! Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and service. The iced coffee didn't have a scoop of ice cream, and the garlic bread (3 small slices of baguette with garlic on it for €5.20 + dip for €2.90) is way overpriced! When the waiter asked if we were satisfied, we explained what we weren't happy with, and all he replied was, "Yeah, that can't be right that there wasn't any ice cream in the iced coffee!" That's a quick way to get rid of your customers!

We were sent away because the chairs were folded up. We took another table where the chairs were in the correct position. We were also sent away. We were ridiculed in front of other guests. This behavior was outrageous. We then left. People, take your money to hosts who like their jobs.

We visited piervier twice during our vacation. Both times, we used the easy online reservation system. The piervier is located right on the Alte Liebe. You have a great view of the harbor and the Elbe River. A very nice atmosphere. All tables were decorated with fresh flowers. The waiters were very friendly, attentive, and courteous, and they were also super nice to the children. I had the baked potato with sour cream, Mediterranean vegetables, and a side salad. A large portion and incredibly delicious. And for €10.50! Where on earth can you find that these days? We can wholeheartedly recommend piervier and will definitely be back!

Great service, delicious food We've eaten at your restaurant several times, and the food has always been delicious. Excellent value for money. Fast service. As hospitable as you'd expect. Including a Kiba (a beer) and a non-alcoholic shandy, the price for both dishes would be €50. On warm days, the wait can be a bit longer if all the tables are taken or reserved. Reservations are recommended in those cases. The salmon fillet was very well cooked and super tender and juicy. The redfish fillet was also very good, and the fried potatoes were just as you'd expect them. I can't comment on vegan options. Vegetarian options are always available due to the variety of dishes.

We waited a long time to be served, then simply stood on the table and walked away. When it came to paying, we were told to wait until later. We waited another long time, and then they insisted on a better tip.

We had a reservation with a group of 17 people, and it went wonderfully. The service was very attentive and professional! The food was perfect and very tasty. The beer was on tap, cold, and delicious.

We had reserved a table for breakfast the next day at 9:15 a.m. Upon arrival, we were told that there was no reservation and that everything had been fully booked for a week (!!!).

The value for money of the food should be reconsidered. The quantity could be a bit higher. The surcharge for crab dishes was displayed on a note at the entrance, not on the menu.

The service was very friendly and attentive, and we were completely impressed by the value for money. A particular highlight was the service provided by our employee, Kay Lüttecke. He is not only extremely competent, but also incredibly friendly and always had a smile on his face. His commitment truly made our visit perfect. We can wholeheartedly recommend the PIERVIER Cuxhaven restaurant and wish the entire team continued success!

Very tasty food and super nice staff

The first visit was quick and friendly service, but on the second visit, we were unfortunately deliberately ignored for almost 20 minutes. It's a shame we left thirsty. Even three hours before the kitchen closes, they're apparently not allowed to put down the chairs that have been leaned against the wall.

Even though I can't drive past there very often, I have to say it's worth every trip. Superb service, very competent and attentive, and above all, very, very friendly. The selection of dishes is excellent, and the quality of the products provided is far above average. As a hotel professional with over thirty years of experience in international companies, it was a perfect dinner; all the guests had nothing but praise. A tourist trap. The service was even worse than the overpriced food. The dishes were completely unloved and seemed like they were prepared by an amateur chef; they had nothing to do with professional catering. The restrooms were awful. The waiters were constantly chatting with each other or entertaining acquaintances at the bar. The highlight was the two waiters who stood in the entrance, gossiping about their colleagues. Absolutely not recommended for breakfast or dinner.

We ate there on two consecutive days. The first day we had lunch. The waitress was attentive and kept an eye on us, and we were served quickly. The next day we went for dinner. The waiter overlooked us and didn't serve us again after our first drink. We then sat in a different area, but there too we had to ask the waiter who walked past us that we wanted to order something. We had to wait 15 minutes for the bill. The food was very good, but the service left a lot to be desired (at least from the male staff).

The food was really great. It was annoying that we weren't allowed to sit outside because the terrace was closed 🤨 There were still people sitting there, and nothing had been cleaned up. The inside was okay, but nowhere near as nice as sitting outside on the pier on a warm summer evening. That really ruined our evening...

Unfortunately, the meat was very dry, a no-go for the price. Unfortunately, the staff gets irritated when there's criticism. We won't go there again....

Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all. We had bruschetta, which was served with slices of baked bread, which arrived four minutes after we ordered. It looked like pizza rolls and was just as doughy. For the main course, we had rösti with herring and sauce. The herring was definitely not fresh and tasted watery, just like the sauce. We didn't finish our meal. The rösti were delicious!

We've been to the Piervier (an old favorite) several times. We were there again today. This time in the evening. We've usually been here for breakfast and lunch. It's changed, but that's how times change. The atmosphere is lovely as always, with a great view of the ships and the sea. Service is friendly. Prices are reasonable. The food was good portions; we had fish, which was okay. The restrooms were very well maintained.

From a favorite spot to a complete disappointment We had actually planned to eat something at PIERVIER – but when we saw the completely exorbitant prices, that quickly changed. Instead, we just ordered a bottle of water for ourselves and the kids. That was a disappointment in itself: the wrong bottle was brought, and one of the glasses was so dirty that we asked for a new one. But even the replacement glass wasn't completely clean – absolutely unacceptable. Two years ago, when the restaurant was still called "Am Pier," we were completely satisfied. Back then, everything was just right: a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, a place to feel good. Our current visit was all the more disappointing. The new ambiance feels cold and uncomfortable. Even outside, everything has been made worse – the beautiful, inviting beach chairs are gone. The low point came at the end: After we didn't tip – for good reason – the staff treated us rudely and unfriendly. The mood suddenly changed. Conclusion: A place we will definitely avoid in the future. What was once a real insider tip is now, unfortunately, just a huge disappointment.

A great restaurant with a truly beautiful location. We dined with two adults and two children, who had a great play area in a quieter corner of the restaurant. The Cuxhaven crab soup was definitely one of the culinary highlights of the evening. The fried fish was a bit too fatty, but still super tasty and by no means dry. All in all, a lovely and delicious evening with friendly and competent service.

Great restaurant with really good food, delicious cocktails, a beautiful ambience and great service

On August 4, 2025, I ate at the "Pier Vier" restaurant. They advertise good food and a prime location. I ordered a fisherman's breakfast with crab, fried egg, and fried potatoes. When I ordered, I was informed that the dish would be €3.00 more expensive because crab prices were so high. Instead of €21.50, it was €24.50. I ordered the fisherman's breakfast anyway. The fried potatoes and fried egg were fine. The 80 grams of crab were watery, tasteless, and felt like rubber on the tongue. The crab was simply inedible. It's a shame that such poor quality is served at such a price. A very disappointed guest from the North Sea coast.

We've eaten there every evening on our vacation (three evenings). The food is highly recommended, and the staff is very friendly. They also politely communicate that the terrace is partially or completely closed in the evenings. We simply can't understand some of the reviews here.

We had the fried fish yesterday. It had seen better days! The fish wasn't the freshest, and the batter was very thick and greasy. The fries were good. The worst part, though, was that they charged an additional 70 cents for a small sachet of mayo. That's pretty cheeky. The server was polite.

Liked it as soon as we walked in. Warm welcome, like to friends. Service is excellent. Ordered crab soup. Excellent. Beer is also good. For the second course I took steak. Very tasty with mushrooms. I recommend guests to visit this restaurant.

Friendly staff and a great location. I've had much better panfish and a much better curry dish elsewhere, though. Strange: If you want to use the restroom, you can't just go through the open patio door; instead, you have to take a longer detour through the main entrance. This is clearly signposted, and the staff pays attention to this rule. It certainly makes sense, but it still seems absurd.

The good thing is that we had vegan options, but the quality certainly wasn't very high. The chicken burger is cheaper than the vegan one, so I can't imagine what kind of meat they use, considering the vegan burger was pretty cheap. The service wasn't great. I politely asked if they could charge my phone while I ate because I was on a long bike ride and it was almost completely dead, but they said no for safety/insurance reasons. Even after I offered to give them my information—if anything happened, I'd take responsibility—they said no, too.

On Monday, we had the sailor's plate, and on Tuesday, we had an espresso before setting sail for Heligoland. The food was excellent, the fish was perfectly cooked, and the side salad was very refreshing. The staff was also very friendly!

New name, new staff. I was happy with my fried fish, and the remolade was homemade and delicious. My husband, however, wasn't happy with his schnitzel. Prices have changed (some are higher).

It's outrageous. We had the normal breakfast twice without hot drinks. Our child (6) hadn't eaten anything except a few bites of my roll. The whole thing cost us almost 40.00€. We won't be coming back.

In glorious sunshine, at 5 p.m. today, the only place to sit was under the awning in the shade (there were plenty of smokers all around). All the chairs outside had already been folded up. The waiter informed us: The outside area is closed. It was also closed at the previous restaurant shortly before the new tenant took over. We think that's a real shame.

The restaurant is in a great location and the staff is friendly... the food was tasty, but the price and quantity of the Caesar salad were not right; I would have expected something different for that price.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place because we were chased outside due to a storm that was supposed to happen at some point. Therefore, I can't comment on the service or the food. It would have been better to post a notice in the cordoned-off area so that customers could see it beforehand. Then the waiters wouldn't have to rudely chase customers away. We can spend our money elsewhere, which we will. I hate to write a negative review and let a lot happen, but this was too much. We'll see if I'll give this place another chance.

We were at Piervier today, Thursday, July 3, 2025, around 5:00 PM. All the seats outside by the wall were taken. In the covered area (umbrellas), the seats were barely occupied. Likewise, inside in the main area, only two people were sitting. On the side of the shopping arcade, the chairs were leaning against the tables. From there, you have a wonderful view of the harbor. My wife had barely picked up the first chair when someone called from afar. "There's a reason the chairs are positioned like that!" Not a good evening, hello, excuse me. It's the tone that makes the music, this condescending, conceited call that made you wonder where you ended up. The man named "Bianco" treated you like dirt. He added in the same tone that there was a lack of staff. ``` It wasn't busy, but he had enough time to have long conversations with his colleagues. Whether outside at the door or inside at the counter, where he distracted the other colleagues from their work. There were at least four people inside, working at the counter, two of them cleaning, others still in the kitchen. So much for understaffing? The other three who were still working outside were very nice, polite, and accommodating. He should take a leaf out of their book about how to treat guests. Isn't it sad that I, as a customer, can't decide where I want to sit if the space allows it so I can enjoy the panorama.

Why only 3 stars: My meal: a slice of black bread. On top, a handful of crab. On top, two soft-fried eggs. On the right side of the plate, a gherkin cut into a fan. On the left, two forks of lettuce, one slice of cucumber, and 1/8 of a tomato. The menu listed a hefty €19.90. When I ordered it, I was told that crab dishes were €3(!) more expensive than the menu indicated. Crab was so expensive, and they hadn't yet managed to change the menu. So: €22.90 for the fun of it. It was delicious, though. Service was also okay.

Nope! Plaice was dry, potatoes were cold and flavorless. The burger had to be returned because the meat was half-raw. Only the rice pudding was okay.

Absolutely not. I've been a regular holiday guest at the Pier for over 20 years. Apparently the new tenant now. I ordered a fish platter at Pier 4 today. I've NEVER eaten such bad fish. If I want dried fish, I order it, but what I was served today was the absolute worst. The plain plaice my daughter had wasn't any better, completely dried out, barely cut with a knife. That was my last visit to that restaurant.

It's a very pleasant place to sit, and the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately, the fried fish last night was so dry, and the shell had probably been fried a few times. It's a shame.

Now we, as locals, have tried the PierVier and, unfortunately, have to say, yet another touristy place that locals are better off avoiding. The service was excellent; the young, friendly and attentive staff... But the fish dishes are a world away from a good fish dish. Everything looks the same; in our case, the plaice was soft and mushy (we thought it was frozen) and barely seasoned. The hunter's schnitzel also had hardly any flavor, and the meat was practically unseasoned. So, unfortunately, not a great achievement for Cuxhaven... we won't be back.

Absolutely fantastic café with a fantastic view, a large terrace, and super friendly service! Rare these days... The food and cakes are also delicious, and the seating isn't too crowded, making it perfect for a dog!

The dinner was incredibly delicious. So we thought they'd have a really good breakfast there too... but we were wrong... For €19.80, there was very little choice. We arrived at 9:30 a.m., and they were already out of sausage and very little cheese. The staff had to send someone out to get some. It wouldn't have been so bad, but we only had the table for an hour... No apology from the staff for this.

Since I had a gastric sleeve, it was no problem to pay the child's price. That's important to know for us after surgery. We'll definitely be back.

We were there on June 9, 2025 (Whit Monday) and ordered three cappuccinos and three strawberry ice creams. The cappuccino... Hmmm... the espresso was way too watery, and the milk foam was more like cotton wool (very bland), not tasting of milk at all. The strawberry sundae was about half full with one (!!!!!) finely sliced ​​strawberry, two scoops of strawberry ice cream, and a bit of whipped cream. After we complained, we were compensated with a huge sundae with at least five strawberries, properly quartered, and two scoops of ice cream (on the house). The server was very understanding and friendly; we couldn't complain. Still, it's questionable whether we'll come back again.
