With 5 people without a reservation, we got a table despite the restaurant being full. Not only was the food prepared super quickly, it was also super tasty. Very friendly staff, a compliment to the kitchen, we have rarely been served such well-prepared fish. Another visit will undoubtedly follow.

This is our second time in Duhnen and we are staying again in Christiansen accommodation. The food here is very good, although the dishes are prepared a little differently than you would expect. The portions are huge. The prices are very moderate for these large portions. The atmosphere is modern, the service is friendly. It lacks a bit of coziness because it is always full and a space has been conjured up from every corner. Nevertheless, we already have the next appointment there!

Unfriendly, unmotivated staff, I personally didn't like the food, the sauce for the herring was really not good, I won't eat there again.

Very nice staff, service great. You are served promptly and the food comes quickly. The menu has been significantly shortened compared to before, but that's for the better. Dishes from the daily menu are also tasty and inexpensive and definitely recommended.

Be sure to visit absolutely, the food is very good there for a very reasonable price. The service is exceptional, the staff welcomes you with a smile, very good address, you have to go there, I highly recommend

We tried in vain to get a table for 4 people. On 2 different days. On the first day we asked at lunchtime whether anything was available. Statement from the waiter, “Just come over, no problem.” Unfortunately no success, despite calling beforehand. On the second day we were checked in at the restaurant door by the waitress, which was very RUDE. And all of this was not in the peak season, but at the beginning of June.

Fish plate with fried potatoes. The fish fillets were ok - the fried potatoes were a disaster: greasy mush garnished with lots of parsley. Every commercial kitchen (canteen) gets this better. By the way, we were not alone in this opinion. Similar complaints at the next table! When we wanted to pay: there was no service in sight or within reach for 10 minutes! So go to the counter and ask for the bill to be paid. Ambiance needs improvement - There is no shading in the left outside area (seen from the street front) - you can go in mid-June one during the residence time of one hour Get first-class sunburn!

I became single today, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 , severely discriminated against. I was supposed to move from a table for 2 people to a small table for 1 person because I was alone. Two thirds of the tables were unoccupied. The waitress forbade me to sit at a table for 2 people. Discriminatory, I left the restaurant immediately. Now I know why this restaurant was so poorly attended at lunchtime. With this military tone of command, you wouldn't want to eat there. Obviously, customer friendliness is a foreign word.

Very nice restaurant, we spontaneously got a table for 2 people on a Friday evening, even though it was busy. A reservation is definitely recommended.

We have been to Duhnen many times and, for whatever reason, never went to Tohuus. On this vacation we dared and were very surprised. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and, more importantly, the food is just very good. Of the 10 days we were in Duhnen, we went there for dinner 5 times and enjoyed every evening. The staff answered every question in a friendly and respectful manner, even when asked. Respect for that. The menu wasn't overcrowded like in other restaurants, but I think that's very good. Sometimes less is more, but the quality is much better. So, enough raving, have the courage and visit Tohuus. Enough photos have already been taken by other satisfied guests, so I won't take them.

It's certainly nice for the restaurant to be so popular that it's almost always full. Duhnen is a tourist magnet - there are crowds there too. I confess that I don't like being squeezed tightly and having to enjoy my food for a limited time.

Were in Duhnen for 8 days and ate there at Tohuus 6 times. The food from the daily menu was always delicious and inexpensive, the service was perfect and the food was great for seniors. But we always had to be there at 5:15 p.m., otherwise we couldn't get a table. Reservations only for housekeepers and for groups of 5 or more.

Solid, fast and friendly, plus reasonable prices for the food. Beer quite expensive. Definitely worth a visit.

It was very good here. Unfortunately, the second meal didn't arrive until the first was half eaten, but details like that are quickly forgotten when it tastes so delicious overall.

The food was very good and sufficient. However, the service left something to be desired.

Centrally located, practically next to the village fountain in Duhnen. Sufficient spaces that are not too crowded. Inside and outside. The schnitzel was OK, a bit greasy. The liver (dish of the day) was OK, the portions were absolutely sufficient, one piece was a bit soft. The service was super friendly and quick.

Fish platter came after 5 minutes. All the fillets and the fried potatoes came from the warming box and that's how everything tasted. In the self-service fish kitchens in Büsum, the fish is fried fresh when ordered. There's more going on there and the prices are lower, so that can't be the problem.

There were three of us there. We had a fish dish and a tarte flambée and a pasta dish. Fish and tarte flambée were okay, the pasta dish didn't work at all. It was a tomato sauce mixed from the packet, watery and tasteless. I haven't eaten such a bad sauce in a long time. The court went back. The waitress asked if she should bring anything new, which we declined. So we had to pay the court in full. The service was very friendly. The mineral water we ordered was forgotten. Unfortunately no repeat visit.

Absolute recommendation. We ate here twice during our spa stay. The menu is varied, the order was taken quickly and the food was brought to the table quickly. It tasted wonderful and there was no sign of it. The price-performance ratio was great. We'd love to come back. Unfortunately, credit card payment is not possible.

Today we went to the Tohuus restaurant and ate Friesenschmaus and Cevapcici. Super tasty, appetizingly prepared. Good price-performance ratio, service great, nice and friendly. Restaurant was busy, but not a long wait. We'd love to come back.

Whenever we are in Cuxhaven, we come here to eat. Without a reservation it will be difficult to get a table. You should be at the door 15 before it opens😌 the food is on the table quickly and is super tasty. You should definitely eat here.

Der Fisch von der Tageskarte war von der Menge her und geschmacklich sehr gut. Der Preis und das Ambiente stimmt auch. Wir werden im nächsten Cuxhaven Urlaub wiederkommen.

Leider nicht mehr das, was es einmal war. Wir haben hier schon häufig gegessen, was zeigt, dass es uns dort schon gut geschmeckt hat. Die letzten Male schmeckte das Essen nur noch ganz okay. Dicke Minus - Punkte sind aber vor allem: Viele Gäste (u.a. wir) saßen abends in Jacke dort (es war viel zu kalt im Inneren) oder waren sie sich gerade am anziehen. Sowas muss man einfach im Blick haben und daraufhin die Türe schließen. Erst nach Nachfragen wurde das gemacht. Die Teelichter sehen schön aus, vor allem dann, wenn man sie auch anmachen würde. Aber nein, Gemütlichkeit soll hier wohl nicht aufkommen. Der Gast soll sich doch eigentlich wohl fühlen und gerne wieder kommen, aber da fehlt es an so einigem, was sehr sehr schade ist. Hier werden Fehler gemacht, die einfach nicht passieren dürfen. Das ist Grundwissen im Gastronomie Bereich. Ich hoffe einfach, dass meine Kritik angenommen wird, ich meine es nur gut mit euch und deshalb finde ich es so wichtig, dass es angesprochen wird. Ihr könnt es bestimmt besser..

Ein weiteres gutes Restaurant der Familie Christiansen! Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist super, der Service aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Wartezeiten von der Bestellung bis zum Essen sind nicht zu lang. In der Mittagszeit kann es sehr voll sein!

Wir waren spontan und zum ersten Mal hier... Bei der Auswahl der Speisen sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein. Die Portionen machen satt und das Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis passt. Es gibt auch eine kleine Extrakarte (DIN A4-Seite) mit den Tagesgerichten... Nach der Bestellung und Bezahlung an der Kasse erhält man einen "Pieper", der Alarm schlägt sobald die Gerichte abholbereit sind. Die Toiletten (Herren-WC) waren groß und sauber...

Wir können nur sagen.probiert es selber aus ...das Essen ..super.egal ob Fisch oder Fleisch ...die Bedienungen sind alle klasse ...Preis Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut ..da gibt es gar nix zu meckern .wir sind sehr zufrieden

Wir fahren seit über 20 Jahren nach Duhnen und waren schon unzählige mahle hier essen. Nun muss ich noch sagen, dass Wir immer an dem gleichen Tisch gesessen haben ! Mit den neuen Mitarbeiter hat man sich hier keinen Gefallen getan, den Tisch den wir reserviert hatten war besetzt und als dieser frei wurde und wir uns umsetzen wollten teilte uns der „ neue Chef " des Service mit, dass es nicht mehr ginge zu 5 Personen an einem 7 Personen Tisch zu sitzen ! Wir haben dann einen anderen Tisch bekommen, Sitzplätze für 7 Personen, kein Scherz und unser Tisch war den ganzen Abend frei ! Zum Abschluss nur noch eine Bemerkung, für unseren kleinen hatten Wir dann eine Bratwurst bestellt, ohne Currysoße ohne Pommes, wurde voll berechnet als Menü….. Gesamteindruck leider nicht mehr das was es mal wahr, aber Duhnen hat zum Glück sehr viele Gute Restaurants mit sehr guten und freundlichen Personal Ps das Essen war wie die Jahre zuvor sehr gut ! Eine gute Wahl bei der großen Auswahl an Restaurants.

Wir waren in den Mocca Suben zu Gast. Die Lokalität hat durch die Renovierung durchaus gewonnen. Netter und schneller Service. Soviel zum Positiven. Essenstechnisch eher in den 80ern steckengeblieben. Sehr viele Convenience-Produkte und auch die selbstgemachten Dinge wie z.B. Bratkartoffeln eher durchschnittlich. Wir kommen definifiv nicht nochmal wieder.

Sehr gutes Essen schön.dekoriert .Immer wenn wir in Cuxhaven Döse Urlaub machen. Wandern wir nach Cuxhaven Dunen zum Mittag essen.

Netter Service, schönes Ambiente. Das Essen war sehr gut, leckerer Fisch und alles sehr gut gewürzt. Mit 3 Erwachsenen und 1 Kind haben wir für jeweils 1 großes Getränk und ein Gericht+ 2 kleine salate (1 kindergericht) 77€ bezahlt, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist super. Klare Empfehlung 👍

Finde dieses Restaurant in Ordnung, aber irgendwie etwas kalt. Toll fanden wir als Familie, dass es Stifte und Ausmalbilder gab. So waren die kleinen beschäftigt. Insgesamt war alles super.
