Nice, but there's still room for improvement! Service: 4/5 Friendly staff, cheerful, laughing! Great But what's the point of a candle on the table if it's not lit? And there's no salt anywhere. And if a bowl just comes out of a very hot oven, you might as well point it out. Ambience: 4/5 Wooden chairs, wooden tables, sofa, simple, rustic, and wonderfully loud. But it's okay! Spanish touches were missing, guests were friendly, relaxed, and easygoing. Great atmosphere, everything very nice! Food: 3/5 First of all: It was okay: 2 of the 13 tapas were really good in our opinion (succulent chicken medallions with tuna capers and meatballs in tomato sauce). The other tapas lacked passion! But at least there was some spice. These included the Pimientos de Patron (bland, not grilled or fried, just brushed with a little oil), the stuffed mushrooms (bland, filling mushy, homemade vegetable filling not detected), small lamb chops in garlic and parsley. (The meat was unfortunately tough, not at all tender, had a tendon on the edge, not typically seasoned, but almost unseasoned instead). Grilled squid somehow didn't seem grilled, but rather a bit oily, but also bland. The fried anchovies were almost unseasoned, so again very bland. A slice of lemon, which was almost accidentally placed on top, doesn't help either. Since tapas are often shared among friends, at least two or even three lemon wedges would have been more hygienic, although not more expensive. The typical spices of Spanish cuisine, such as smoked paprika, saffron, and cumin, were missing. In Spain, the piminentos ordered are supposed to be lightly oiled and then, whether grilled or not, sprinkled with a few flakes of salt and sometimes even a little paprika. Ours were just oiled and warm. Oh yes: we had these pimientos twice. Among all the truly bland pimientos, however, were two that clearly came from a different Scoville batch. They were so hot, it was as if the women had bitten into a ripe habanero pepper. Distinctly different, and by no means justified by the words that pimientos are just different! A little warning up front wouldn't be a bad idea, along the lines of, "Be careful, there might be a small, incredibly hot fruit in there, too." The bread served is certainly filling, but it's a long way from ciabatta or crusty baguette. It seems very bland and uninteresting! Conclusion: The dishes could possibly be adjusted a bit. We've known Altamira for many years. We haven't been there for two years now. There's definitely room for improvement, at least given the prices, I expect that. The Spanish passion may be a bit off at the moment, but it can definitely return! Ben

We weren't impressed. We got stale bread (which cost money!!!). The waitress just said, "Tell me at the counter... the bread is from yesterday." The tapas were good, but not worth the high price. The location, right next to the Ottensen S-Bahn station, is great. The ambiance inside the restaurant is okay. All in all, it was okay. Nothing more. It's a shame.

This restaurant simply works. Excellent cuisine, friendly, attentive staff, and great food. The drinks are also delicious – we like the Pisco Sour, which they make fantastically well here. Highly recommended.

The selection and quality of the tapas is incomparable...great!!! If a fairly high noise level doesn't bother you...reserve a table.

Far too loud; if you're sitting inside, you really have to shout. The staff is helpful but hectic, and the tapas are okay. Aperol is delicious and the price is also okay at €7.50.

We discovered this restaurant not far from our hotel during a short trip to Hamburg. We were seated for two in the early evening. The food and drinks were extensive, all Spanish, of course. The service was fast and friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our order. A large selection of tapas, and truly delicious. The atmosphere was so-so, in need of some renovation. When we left, almost all the tables inside and outside were full. But we would eat there again.

Finally, the food was as good as ever. With a little more attentiveness from the service staff, we would have had one or two more glasses of wine. 😉

The restaurant is popular, the food is good and the prices are fair . Tables are cramped together to get the maximum amount of customers, the effect...loud and noisy . My booked table was next to a couple with their uncontrolled sniffing dog. We left without ordering as the restaurant was overfilled. I won't eat there again .

There were four of us there. The spinach croquettes were delicious, but unfortunately, the other dishes didn't impress us. One person in our group vomited afterward, and another felt sick.

Of four people, one immediately vomited afterward, two had stomach aches, and one had diarrhea. The quality has declined significantly compared to two years ago. Of the nine tapas, we liked one. Some of the food was cold, everything was very greasy, and some meat dishes had a bland aftertaste.

If you're looking for a wide selection of average food, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, most people didn't feel well afterward.

I highly recommend Altamira; I've been there several times and the food has never disappointed.

We all enjoyed the tapas, but the service was rather disappointing, even though there was plenty of staff. On several occasions, drinks were only delivered after repeated reminders (once a beer took about 45 minutes after three reminders, and once a wine took about 30 minutes after two reminders), and then we were all asked to pay even though our glasses were still full (and they didn't arrive for ages). We would have liked to stay longer and would have left more money, which is a shame if that goes unnoticed.

We've been going to this restaurant for years! Always very satisfied. Unfortunately, we've noticed a significant decline in quality. It's worth noting that some dishes are served cold or feel like they've been pre-made. Even after returning the food, the waiter doesn't offer any compensation (possibly due to a change in staff). It's a shame, after 15 years of regular customers, that this is no longer our number one choice! All the best to the entire team!

Quite full so a bit noisy, food great

We were there for the second time and were more than thrilled again. The tapas are of a very high quality. The variety of different tapas is really a dream for vegetarians and the Iberico is also great. I can also give a really big recommendation because the atmosphere is very authentic. For larger groups it may be more worthwhile to reserve.

The service was great and very hardworking. The ambience was normal standard. The food was 75% very tasty. I can recommend the croquettes filled with ham/cheese. The chicken with curry was a disappointment. Overall, I was satisfied and had a nice evening with my friends, but I wouldn't want to eat there again right now.

The food was once again great. The carafe of Tinto de Verano consisted of 50% crushed ice. It was cold and there was a draft coming from every corner and window. Can't stand without jackets. The acoustics are so terrible that conversation is hardly possible. So don't talk, just eat and don't forget your jackets!

Very nice and warm atmosphere. Classic mediterannian vibe that you can feel. I recommend mostly the wines and sangria of course. Meal portions are small rather than german standards. But flavour brings you to Spain. On the winter, garden side is cold. You need to wear something accordingly. By the way remember to make reservations especially on the weekends. Really nice welcoming and sincere service.

It was my first time eating there. Those around me already knew the restaurant and were enthusiastic. I had a very nice evening there. The staff is very accommodating. The food is very tasty and everything was beautifully prepared. The prices are reasonable. The ambience is very nicely decorated. It gets very loud at times, but that can't be helped. This should just be taken into account. This was bearable for two people.

A reservation is highly recommended as it is always very full or fully booked. The restaurant is unusually large, but food and drinks are delivered quickly. The staff is friendly. To start with, the tapas were very good, very tasty and freshly prepared. The location is perfect, right next to the Ottensen S-Bahn, I wanted to drink a few glasses of wine, otherwise arriving with a small car is recommended because of the parking space... Overall, I went home with mixed feelings. Even though I loved the food, I would have been happy to have ordered another glass of Chardonnay. I had this in order when clearing the plates etc. but didn't receive it. It wasn't on the bill, it was forgotten. Maybe I spoke to the wrong person? Even when we wanted to pay, we had a hard time and then went straight to the checkout to pay. There they wished us a nice evening and wanted to say goodbye. We said we still had to pay, so of course we did...

The tastiest tapas are at Altamira! :) It's always busy, but it's a little louder at peak times. However, you don't have to wait very long for your food. I can only recommend it!

One of my favorite tapas restaurants in Hamburg – the price-performance ratio is really great! In summer I definitely recommend sitting outside and enjoying the weather (that's where my pictures come from 😉). But it is also pleasant and cozy in the winter garden. We actually like all the dishes here, but our favorites are definitely the breaded chicken breast fillet rolls with Manchego & Serrano, the chicken wings, the croquettes and of course the pimientos 😍 The dessert is also great, we love the almond cake and the fruit ice cream. The service is always super nice, and if you're lucky, you'll even get a little surprise on the house every now and then. Absolute recommendation for all tapas lovers!

No. The restaurant is very well attended and is probably very appreciated. But if you take a look at the ice-cold winter garden and look, it becomes clear that it is a hovel. Dirty, worn out. A place that makes you want to go anywhere else, but just not for expensive food.

It smokes and smells like cheap, old fat mixed with fish in front of the shop, which is unbearable. It used to be quite nice, now it's just tourists and packaged food, it's just warmed up and not freshly cooked.

Food tastes good. As a man, I have to eat several tapas to get full. This makes a visit more expensive than if I were to eat somewhere else. I don't think the decor is that pretty.

I have been going to this restaurant since 2016, 8 years!! And the quality was much higher than now, portions were larger and prices were lower. The Sangria was very good but today it was very disappointing: 90% ice, 10% wine!!! I'm sorry, you were one of my favorite restaurants but today it was very disappointing.

A Spanish restaurant located directly at the Ottensen train station. It looks a bit cobbled together, but that doesn't detract from the ambience and, above all, the delicious cuisine. We were there on a Tuesday. Unfortunately it is very loud there. The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, we always have to wait a little longer for the drinks before we could order them and also until they were brought.

Great tapas bar that at second glance has really reasonable prices. Portion size significantly larger and good quality than standard in Hamburg. Recommendation, but be careful: make a reservation.

We are rarely here because the price is not insignificant. 2 days ago we paid almost €200 with 4 adults and 1 child (5 years). 1 round of regular drinks, 1 non-alcoholic cocktail, 1 glass of red wine, 1 double espresso and 1 digestive. Plus 4 desserts. If you don't like noise while eating, this is definitely the wrong place for you. Service nice and attentive.
