Hello, I was with my wife on Sunday 6th July 2025 in Redo, formerly Uschis Café. Soljanka was only 3 €, but these 3 € were not worth it, salad for 5 €, well, not great, the pizza Parma, well, everything was NOT recommendable, it would be better to raise the prices by 1 € to 2 € and offer decent food, the food is an insult to our food culture

Sometimes you enter a place and know immediately: This is where not only the taste but also any kind of digestive dignity ends. Welcome to Redoxxl Potsdam – the gastronomic final boss for all those who think of "XXL" not as a portion, but as a warning sign. I was there yesterday. Full of courage, slightly drunk with the idea of ​​conquering the XXL Kaiserschnitzel. A dish that, according to the menu, sounds as if an animal had been sacrificed and then drowned in hollandaise. Only: After 20 minutes, a waitress came, visibly overwhelmed by the fact that guests actually wanted to order something. The message: No cheese. No hollandaise. No Kaiserschnitzel. In a restaurant that specializes in mountains of meat in cream sauce, that's like a doner kebab without meat, beer without alcohol, or Til Schweiger without whispering – in other words, pointless. Plan B: Jägerschnitzel with spirelli. Sounds like GDR nostalgia, tasted like a Stasi interrogation. The schnitzel was so dry it could be used as insulation. The tomato sauce had already formed a skin – a culinary ritual of molting that even reactivated my childhood traumas. Zero flavor, zero seasoning, zero zest for life. I've eaten better pasta at gas stations. At night. Drunk. With tears in my eyes. And then a glance at the menu. No, actually a psychological stress test. 3 kg of roulade on a skewer. 2.5 kg of burger with a diameter larger than a bicycle tire. 1.2 kg of steak that probably has its own Instagram profile. Reading it, you feel as if you've accidentally wandered into a gastronomic stunt club where the idea isn't to fill your stomach, but to actively conquer it. Everything is presented like a test of courage – "Eat this or die with honor." This isn't food; it's an event for people who google "meat" while knitting themselves a bacon sweater. Particularly absurd: the Redo Kaiserplatte – 3 kilograms of meat with side dishes that look like the last wishes of a dying grizzly bear. Roast beef, liver, schnitzel, chicken wings, spare ribs. This isn't a meal, it's a protein intervention. Suitable for ten people – or a single bachelor with a death wish. Instead of bean soup, there's now a quinoa chili patty in the "veggie" section. Yes, that's no joke. Somewhere between half a hundredweight of fried animal suffering, a sad legume flatbread shimmers, like a Greenpeace flyer in a tank graveyard. Irony knows no bounds in this place. Redoxxl is like a car crash of breadcrumbs, tastelessness, and lost ideals. Perfect for bachelor parties, bar-room warriors, or people who've never taken their blood pressure. Anyone who eats here not only loses control of their digestion, but also their self-esteem. XXL here does not stand for “extra delicious”, but for “extra suicidal”.

This was our first time here and we chose the location quite randomly, as we wanted something to eat for lunch after a stroll through the city. We were impressed: the taste and portion size of the food (large farmer's breakfast, steak tartare, currywurst with homemade fries), very friendly service, and a large outdoor seating area under a large parasol: perfect lunch! PS: Are the three restaurants on site somehow connected?

Delicious food, but unfortunately the service was at capacity and there were no VIP tickets. But you have to go!

Furthermore, the preparation at Redo Berlin was much more visually appealing. The service was super friendly and left nothing to be desired. A very big criticism. The entire restaurant was very unkempt and unhygienic. There was trash and dirt everywhere on the floor, on the counter, and in some cases, the tables themselves hadn't even been wiped. A look into the kitchen was anything but appetizing; how anyone could step over all that trash and spread it all over the restaurant is beyond me. Maybe it was busy on the holiday, but it was still a deterrent example. I don't want to say everything was bad. The food was, as I said, good and the service friendly; in my opinion, even more competent than in Berlin. Unfortunately, that doesn't apply to the hygiene of the restaurant. I don't know if I can recommend it. In any case, I would prefer to go to Redo Berlin again.

Unfortunately, my visit to Redo XXL in Potsdam was disappointing. I know the restaurant from Berlin and had high expectations, but they weren't met here. The food was significantly weaker than in Berlin, rather mediocre in taste, and poorly presented. Furthermore, it wasn't particularly clean – both at the table and in the surrounding area, hygiene was lacking. The overall atmosphere seemed unkempt and uninviting. It's a shame, because I know that things are actually quite different at Redo XXL. But I must also say, I was there over Pentecost; perhaps they were very busy when we were there, even though it wasn't much going on.

The food was great and the service very friendly! Great value for money! Definitely worth a try!

The schnitzel was incredibly delicious, and the four of us couldn't manage the 1.3 kg! Our waiter (with the bald head) was the friendliest person in the world and a total cheerleader! It was fun. A small deduction in the rating... they could have told us that coleslaw was included with the schnitzel. It wasn't clear on the menu. So we ordered an extra one for nothing, which we couldn't finish.

We – four friends – spontaneously stopped by Redo XXL for dinner. We received a very friendly welcome and were informed that our order would currently take about 40 minutes. The order was taken quickly, the drinks arrived promptly, and the food arrived much faster than expected. It could have been very good. Even if we were only rating the two different schnitzels. They were good. What led to the point deduction: • The 600g rump steak came butterfly-cut and was less than 1 cm thick; The medium-rare cooking point (particularly difficult with this cut) was missed. • The steak was unseasoned (and being able to add more seasoning with a salt and pepper shaker doesn't help, especially since I would expect to use mills for both). • The spiralis in the Jägerschnitzel were also very lightly salted, and the sauce was by no means from "Mutti." • The fries were denied salt. • One component was not delivered - this was pointed out, and a subsequent delivery was announced, but it never happened and remained on the bill (until it was pointed out again). • One toilet was broken and closed; the other, though locked, could no longer be opened from the inside. • A set of cutlery had to be reordered; there was no "automatic" steak knife for the steak. • Several plates had chips (a risk of injury, in addition to the visual aspect). • When the waiter asked if everything was okay, they only shook their heads and responded with "ohh." • An "empty" plate sat on the table for ages and never found its way back to the kitchen. by itself • Surprisingly, the wait for the bill was also many times longer than for the drinks delivery. No influence on the rating because it cannot be verified: • The two schnitzels were ordered, one at 200g and the other at 400g. However, these didn't look like half or double the weight class. • I wanted to share the rump steak because I'm usually extremely full at 400g. For 600g, I was surprised that I had little trouble. However, it looked more like 400g than 600g. The side dishes were, in our opinion, oversized. (Glances towards the kitchen at other plates confirmed this.) As a suggestion: We would consider serving half and giving guests the option to reorder. Yes, it's more work, but it would reduce waste. It's a matter of philosophy. The good reviews show that things could be better otherwise. We hope for the restaurant's sake that we were just the exception to the rule. Rule. All the best to the team.

If you like mega portions for good money, you've come to the right place.

ReDo is very active on social media, and we were curious whether it's all just a show or whether the quality is actually up to scratch. In short, we were impressed. The food is incredibly delicious and, as far as we can tell, high-quality. The restrooms, however, were broken and therefore not exactly pleasant. We'd be happy to come back.

We were very excited and checked in with great anticipation. First impression: Ambience not very inviting and tables typical system gastro, similar to McD. All right. Ordering food via the app is a science in itself. The waiter saved us with a smile and the large menu books and confirmed the complexity. Drinks came quickly, we waited 55 minutes for the food. The quality of the meat dishes was okay, but not a highlight. The potato wedges were sensationally good, the salad was generally limp, bitter and warm. Probably produced in stock for a long time. The decorative salad as well, it's better to save it, because the typical groups of men certainly don't come for the greens. :-) An insert was not delivered despite two requests. The service was very friendly, but the system was rather disorganized. The digital waiter call function on the table ends with a vibration on the waiter's wristband, which he cannot react to because it happens all the time and he literally no longer reacts to it at all. The toilets are inadequate, toilet paper dispensers and soap dispensers are broken, there is also toilet paper everywhere on the floor. This should be addressed urgently and is certainly not in the operator's interest. Conclusion: These giant plates are certainly an experience and offer a very good price/performance ratio. In general it is something for meat eaters and that is the concept. We somehow expected more because advertising promises a real “experience”. That wasn't really it.

Today we ate with friends at the redo restaurant for the first time. It was a really nice evening around Rum. The food was excellent thank you very much and the waiter is great. When we said goodbye, we said goodbye as if we had known each other for 100 years. But that's what makes it. You feel really good and we will definitely come back. I was basically "forced" to make a stopover here on my trip to Berlin - and I didn't regret it! I had already read and seen a lot about it in advance, but since such Xxl restaurants are often not that great in terms of quality, I was very excited. On Saturday lunchtime, right when it opened, we stopped in and took a seat outside. The service guys were all very friendly and on the ball. We tested the 1.3kg schnitzel as well as the schnitzel salad plus extra fried potatoes. We were more than satisfied: the schnitzels were great! In terms of meat thickness and taste. Well seasoned, deliciously fried...the fried potatoes and also the salad decoration (which was actually the size of a side dish) were great! The amount of fries was definitely too much for 2-3 people, but it fits very well for 5 people. You simply take the leftovers with you. I also think it's positive that the so-called "robber's plates" are free and don't have to be charged extra, as is the case in most restaurants. We would love to come back, but we hope that perhaps Rtg Bayern will expand 😅 A big thank you for this positive experience and keep it up!

After a walk around the city, it is pleasant to relax with a view of the Nauen Gate. During the warm season there is a large terrace outside. There is not much space inside, but it is very atmospheric. The food arrived quickly, plus large portions. Everything is very fatty, salty, not PP at all😆 Pleasant friendly service.

We were there for the first time on April 12th, 2025 with 6 people and a small child in connection with a pre-order. The weather was great so we were able to sit outside around 5:30 p.m. after the necessary seating areas had been created by the hard-working staff. Our drink orders were taken after a long wait, so that we were able to submit our choice of food to the service at the table around 6:30 p.m. As we later found out, the electronic recording of our order was far away from our orders, so it had to be improved, which didn't go well, and the chicken we ordered was honored with pork schnitzel. Our first visit to XXL was interesting but you could say that was it. The staff tried hard but from our point of view they were left alone and overwhelmed. Perhaps the XXL concept should be put to the test. Thank you Jörg Pok

First of all: I don't care much about XXL food. But I can say that there are also “normal-sized” portions here that are really tasty. The price is reasonable, the "East German" Jägerschnitzel is freshly breaded and fried. Waiter very nice. Recommendation! The only drawback: No regional draft beer, but the usual TV beer.

The spare ribs are absolutely delicious and the butter is always soft and I recently tried the t-bone steak with baked potatoes. It's good for the price and definitely filling thanks to the potato. So for large families, birthdays, large groups also very inexpensive if you want to share

What was supposed to be a pleasant team evening ended in a bad mood. We had reserved a table in advance and arrived around 6:30 p.m. The waiter was always attentive, but when you have to wait about 2.5 hours for your food (the last person served it at 9:10 p.m.), even the best waiter can't salvage the mood. After dinner, everyone just wanted to get home quickly... Unfortunately, you can't award more stars like that.

We were positively amazed by the quality of the food, the great ambience and, above all, the great service. Gigi makes the difference. Such a warm person who has full control over the service and has a non-feignedly warm way of dealing with people. That was really good for us. And the food was delicious. I had a small beef schnitzel and my partner had the liver with onion and mashed potatoes. All in all, we were 100% satisfied. Thanks to Gigi.

Where do I even begin...? Beautifully lit from the outside, located right next to the Nauen Gate, the location and the exterior are impressive. The friendliness and courtesy of the service are second to none. We felt absolutely welcome. Junior ordered the "regular" sized Jägerschnitzel with noodles. Conclusion: It tasted like my grandma used to make. It was amazing! I had the 600g currywurst, my wife had something else she ordered, but no matter, as it was still a dream chicken schnitzel, and the older one had an XXS burger, although don't be fooled. He was stuffed afterward. Rene Dost has pulled off something here that I can only take my hat off to. Today wasn't just a family dinner, but an experience!

Despite not having a table reservation (3 people), we got a table on a Saturday evening in an uncomplicated and friendly manner.

We placed our order through the QR code placed on our table and directly paid via app. After around 40 mins of waiting, we tried to get support from the waiter (the only one for the entire restaurant) who claimed that the order wasn't received, it was not visible in the system and that the place was overloaded to process our order. When we asked how to address the fact that we had already paid 70 euros, we were told that he couldn't do anything about it and we were told to reach out to the number on their business card. Until now, they still haven't answered any of our call to get our money back.

Horrible. Avoid this restaurant! Here you order using a QR code and pay immediately. However, after an hour and a half of waiting for food and drinks, we were told that our order had never entered the system. Even when we showed our payment confirmation and receipt, the waiter couldn't find the order. He was the only server on this busy holiday and did his best, but the restaurant was woefully understaffed and the ordering system wasn't working properly. Instead of a solution, we only received a business card asking us to call ourselves to request the €70 back. But to this day no one answers the phone. I have now contacted the restaurant via email and am still waiting for a response. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!

We had reserved a table for two people today. When we arrived we stood in a dirty and unfortunately musty “hallway” and waited for the staff. The lamp in this hallway was hung at half past seven, fries were lying everywhere on the floor and it immediately made a very lumpy impression... well, after ten minutes a waiter came who was extremely stressed and extremely hectic, and I told him (as he would otherwise have walked past us) that we had made a reservation and showed him our reservation confirmation on my cell phone. Apparently it doesn't matter whether you make a reservation or not, because we noticed that everyone behind us was told that the meal would take at least 2 hours and there was no table for anyone who had reserved. Of course there wasn't a table available for us either and he said he had to see what he was doing now 😂!? Then he was gone again for ages and then served a group of 7 people who were after us! came and had also made a reservation and brought them to an “emergency table”, which is actually only for 4 people. The people also said they had reserved online, the waiter then said "yes, reserving online is always stupid" ... then they don't offer it after all 😂 since we were simply ignored without a word for ages, the atmosphere in the store didn't fit at all and everything seemed extremely stressed and unprofessional, we left haha, that's definitely not for us, we just wanted to do it for fun but no, then we prefer quality and professional service with a nice one Ambience 🙃

Absolute scam!! Don't come here! You order through an automatic system via QR code, you pay immediately, after not receiving the food nor drinks for hours they tell you they never accepted the order! Upon showing our payment and the receipt of the order, the waiter still couldn't find our order in the system. He was the only waiter on a sunny and busy holiday, trying to do his best but the place was severely understaffed and the system faulty. We were given a business card to try calling and get the refund by ourself (70€) but they didn't reply to our calls because today is a holiday. I repeat, don't go to this place!!

The XXL is always worth a visit, whether in Potsdam, Ketzin or Frankfurt there is something for every taste, you can also choose the portions from L - XXL. The quality of food and service are too good. We will be happy to come back. Salewski family

Food is good, prices are right too. Service is a bit haywire or understaffed when there is a lot going on. Unfortunately, things are often forgotten when it comes to food (sauces, extra cheese, extra bacon, etc.). But overall it works!

Unfortunately, our experience at RedoXXL today wasn't particularly good. There were four of us here (2 adults + 2 children) and the service was friendly. Since it was a family day, the children could eat for free. Both chose rice pudding but unfortunately this was no longer available. So the kids had to have fish fingers with fries. As a dad, I chose a 1.3kg cabbage roll, which is why I came to RedoXXL specifically. It was time to go to the kitchen. Shortly afterwards the waiter was back and said, unfortunately it wasn't available. Out of necessity and actually not feeling like it anymore, I took the 600g currywurst. I find it a bit irritating that the most important things are no longer in stock at 5 p.m. on a Sunday. The next time I visit I'll be curious to see whether it will get better or continue to be the same. It's a shame René, Potsdam is not as good as Tempelhof.
