1.2 kilos of beef ass? How awesome is that!!!

We ate at Redo XXL in Potsdam on Saturday starting at 3 p.m. The food was good, but the service was exceptionally poor. We received completely inconsistent service within our group – some of us didn't even receive our drinks, even though we all ordered at the same time. Around 4:30 p.m., we were told to vacate our table "as soon as possible" because it would be reassigned at 5 p.m. Our friends, however, didn't receive this information. At 4:50 p.m., our entire table was cleared, and we were told to leave. We weren't even allowed to finish our drinks. When we asked if we could at least get cups to take our drinks with us, there was no response. In addition, the restrooms were very dirty. Some of the toilets didn't even flush, which further worsened the overall impression. All in all, a very disappointing experience. It's a shame because the food was really good – but due to this service and the lack of cleanliness, we unfortunately won't be returning.

Everything is at a very high level, especially the service. The kitchen works very well. The dishes are very delicious. The atmosphere is pleasantly good. Bravo.

Overall, a nice restaurant… as they say, there's no accounting for taste… I gave it 4 out of 5. However, there's no discussion about the portion sizes… that's the main focus here… the amounts some people devour are quite remarkable, but not my cup of tea 😎 In summary: a clear recommendation.

The wait times were a disaster. We arrived at 7 pm, our first drink arrived at 7:45 pm, and we finally got to eat at 8:30 pm. Unfortunately, some of the food was cold and bland. We ordered three different dishes, all under-seasoned. The only positive thing was that the waiters remained friendly despite being under constant stress. In the end, we received a 10% discount because of the wait, but that didn't salvage the experience.

We had the XXL ribs, and they were absolutely awful – mushy and soggy. The taste was disgusting… almost inedible. The price-performance ratio was terrible, even though the prices seem cheap at first glance. The fries were decent, but what can you really do wrong with them? 😉 The "Gastronomy is great" motto definitely didn't apply here. I would seriously rethink my business model and not offer such low-quality food. A definite no-go. 👎

We were a group of three (two adults and one child) at Redo XXL Potsdam on Wednesday evening (November 26, 2025). Food: Everyone enjoyed their meal very much. The menu included classic schnitzel (200g) with potato wedges and two sauces (Hollandaise and a creamy mushroom sauce with wild mushrooms), as well as pasta with tomato sauce and Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel). The schnitzels were very well done – not too thick, not too thin, nice and juicy inside, and crispy and flavorful on the outside. The fries were undercooked and therefore unpleasantly soft. I would have liked a touch of freshness from the classic hollandaise sauce, perhaps with a bit of lemon juice. The mushroom cream sauce was unusual but still very pleasant in taste, although a little thick. With a bit more cream, it would have been excellent. The pasta with tomato sauce and Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel) was very tasty for the child. Service: The server was very friendly and gave us good advice, but he seemed a little overwhelmed trying to serve us and the few other guests that evening. We had to wait quite a while before he noticed that two people hadn't had a full glass to drink for some time. What was very confusing was the menus: two identical editions with different contents, and then, please, only one uniform menu. Ambiance: The ambiance was very nice and even more pleasant with more indirect lighting. I was very pleasantly surprised by the option of having a table where you can pour your own drinks, which can be a real highlight of an evening spent with friends.

We were very impressed, the food was superb, and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

The ribs are not recommended. They taste mediocre at first bite and get progressively worse. Poor texture (mushy, greasy). The fries were a 7 out of 10. Conclusion: Not recommended

Anyone familiar with the other Redos locations, like Tempelhof or Ketzin, will unfortunately be somewhat disappointed here. The side salad was very sad, practically wilted. Although the place was quite empty around 1:30 pm on a Saturday, the server took forever to come despite pressing the call button. Do better than that, guys. Next time, I'll go to the one in the harbor.

This is what's left over from 2kg for 6 people… bring your Tupperware. It's incredibly delicious.

You have to appreciate the rustic. We loved it.

The food was great, arrived quickly, and tasted fantastic! Excellent value for money! Unfortunately, it felt very cold in the seating area, even with a sweater, so maybe they should turn up the heating a bit. Something definitely needs to be done about the smell in the entrance hall! You walk in and are greeted by an unpleasant odor… Otherwise, as I said, everything was great.

We arrived shortly after noon and it was freezing cold inside. We were told the heating had been broken for two days and the manager had gone to the hardware store to buy a heater. (Of course, the hardware store isn't open on Sundays.) The salad bowl was dirty underneath, and the toilets hadn't even been cleaned from the day before. There weren't even any napkins, just a sheet from a paper towel roll. We can't recommend this place.

The food is amazing!!! A fantastic place to go when you're really hungry! We've been there four times now, and each time it's been a great experience. The portions are gigantic, and the price is absolutely justified. Everything is top-notch! From personal experience, I can recommend the giant Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel), the Kaiserschnitzel (Emperor's schnitzel), the roast duck, and the chicken schnitzel. A sparkling mineral water with lemon is perfect to go with it, making it go down smoothly. Of course, they also have huge drinks for when you're really thirsty. A delicious 3-liter Cuba Libre is always a good option. It's simply worth the trip every single time, awesome!

We ordered the Kaiserplatte (3kg), but when it arrived, the sauces and the meat were cold, as if it had only been briefly reheated. A 1-liter Coke for €8 is pretty bad. A case is on sale for €8.99 at Metro, where he shops. The restrooms were, well, let's just say they weren't great. My wife didn't even have toilet paper. The nice waiter was very busy but still very friendly. As expected, we had to get our food packed up. The kitchen just threw everything in one big pile. The sauces weren't included, which we unfortunately only noticed later at home. This is now the second Redo restaurant we've visited. Sadly, it started off badly again. The ambiance was really good, the service was inconsistent, and the food was very poor. Those were the worst ribs I've ever had. They looked appealing on the menu, but what arrived was almost disgusting. So much gristle and bone fragments; the meat was gray and tasteless. The fries were good! The chicken burger was undercooked, and my complaint was ignored. A shame, but never again!

Great service! The 1kg currywurst with fries was absolutely delicious. Parking in Potsdam isn't great, but that's not the restaurant's fault.

We will be there on November 30th. A spot is reserved. The test will take place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Simply the best restaurant ever! I ate at Redo XXL in Potsdam – and what can I say: I've never seen such a fantastic, enormous schnitzel in my life! The taste was absolutely top-notch, super juicy, perfectly seasoned, and crispy. I really tried to conquer the monster schnitzel… but it was just too big for one evening 😅. Luckily, I was allowed to take the rest home – and what can I say: I finally finished it by the end of the week! 😂 A super friendly team, fast service, and a great atmosphere. For me, it's clear: Redo XXL – a must-visit for anyone with an appetite!

The visit was unfortunately disappointing. Ordering by mobile phone already felt impersonal – the direct contact with the service staff and the possibility of individual arrangements were lost. Furthermore, you are asked to specify the tip as soon as you place your order, even though no personal contact has taken place and no food or drinks are on the table at that point. The most negative aspect, however, was that an employee entered the restaurant with a lit cigarette, went directly into the kitchen, and came out a few minutes later with another lit cigarette. He then lingered briefly at the bar. This behavior not only appears unprofessional but also raises serious questions about hygiene and customer service.

During our meal, a male member of staff walked through the dining room to the kitchen with a lit cigarette. He later returned with another lit cigarette. He then stood at the bar, right next to our table while we were eating, and only left when I asked him to. Seriously, that's unacceptable! Otherwise: The service was clearly very busy. However, they were all very friendly. The food was okay. For me, it wasn't good value for money.

If you come alone you are probably not a promising enough customer and you don't get a seat, I was in other Redo branches and was always satisfied, this is a real dump

The food was delicious, and we chose a manageable portion size. We deducted a star because the rooms were cold, there was no way to heat them up, and we found the music annoying. We also found it a shame that some of the bottles (mayo, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce) were empty (we were there shortly after opening), and we only received new ones upon request.

The food is truly impeccable. Very, very tasty. The service staff are also very pleasant and friendly. The prices are, in my opinion, even reasonable for the amount. The four of us had an XXXL family schnitzel with three sauces... Breaking it down, we paid €20 per person, including a drink!

It takes some getting used to, as there are two entrances. The staff were nice and friendly, but the cutlery and salt weren't replenished. If you like large portions, this is the place for you.

This was our second visit to Redo XXL in Potsdam (city center). The staff last Saturday were so incredibly friendly and happy in the shop; their good mood was truly contagious! Absolutely fantastic service! They even helped us with a little surprise for two of "our guests" and decorated our Kaiserschmarrn with an extra candle. :) Really great service - thank you for still having such a staff! We'll be back just because of you! 5 stars, actually, just for you!!! The food was, of course, also great. We had the Kaiserplatte and the Kaiserschmarrn. On the Kaiserplatte, we would have preferred a little less "regular pork/fillet" and a bit more schnitzel. #personalopinion ;) We wanted a bit of everything and opted for the Kaiserplatte, and of course, the schnitzel was the first thing on our platter to run out. :D The currywurst was also great (we had heard about it from Instagram posts) and we were not disappointed. The fries would also be super delicious and nice and crispy. About the Kaiserschmarrn: No words needed! Fantastic!!!! I'm not a fan of vanilla ice cream myself, for example, but your creation was sooo incredibly delicious (Is that Redo Gelato ice cream?). Add to that applesauce and the vanilla sauce – the whole thing was a dream!!! The Kaiserschmarrn tasted like Grandma's! Delicious, delicious, delicious! The drinks (including the homemade lemonades) were super fruity, fresh, and incredibly delicious. The 2L column for the boys was also great – you could definitely taste the alcohol and tell they're not cheating here! The place was pleasant, with standard seating areas, and everything was clean. Nothing to complain about. :)

Super cool location with a very friendly team. We ate at Redo XXL twice within three days. It was delicious and, above all, plentiful. The Redo XXL team is very friendly and helpful, even up for a joke. It's a shame Redo XXL isn't in Leipzig—but maybe they can change that 😉? I keep seeing Mr. Redo on Instagram and YouTube, so I wanted to give XXL a try. My expectations were low; I was expecting run-of-the-mill food like you'd find in a larger restaurant chain. But I was completely wrong! The Kaiserschnitzel was divine, the ambiance was lovely and positively "different," the staff very friendly and attentive, and the prices absolutely fair. I'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, a total flop. 1. The restaurant was incredibly cold, as the doors were open everywhere. 2. Despite a reservation, our table for 6 people wasn't even set or prepared. 3. Despite detailed ordering, the food arrived at the wrong table and had to be returned several times. This led to longer wait times. What I found very disappointing was that XXL REDO Potsdam didn't have any croquettes or spare ribs (according to the server, they were making them for the Kaiserplatte). That's why we like going to XXL REDO. Well, let's get to 4. The food was okay, except for the beef ribs. The food arrived only lukewarm, and that for a hefty price of €45.45, and a wait of over an hour. It's worth it. Let me put it this way: I've always eaten at XXL REDO in Ketzin, and I've never been as disappointed as I was in Potsdam. XXL REDO Potsdam was at least accommodating by waiving our drinks. All in all, I can say: eat at XXL REDO Potsdam once, and never again. I'd rather stick with XXL REDO in Ketzin.

50/50 is probably a good summary of the evening. The staff was nice and friendly and brought us to our reserved table. However, it took 20 minutes to get our drinks... Ordering went smoothly again, although we were only able to reorder drinks when asked, which was a matter of attentiveness on the part of the staff. My wife had ordered solyanka and wanted it with salad as a main course, but it was served as an appetizer...now, six hungry kids were staring at the food and were starting to get hangry. By the way, the appetizer arrived after 2 hours, followed by the main course 30 minutes later. The kids had fun with their currywurst and hunter's schnitzel, but unfortunately, my steak came in two pieces and was so full of tendons that it became a chore...it was simply far below my expectations. You can read my other reviews to see how things can be different... ...the fries as a side dish were also rather soggy... ...paying went smoothly. I had the feeling that the kitchen was either overwhelmed or there was a lack of staff, at least there seemed to be several people assessing the service staff...I'm not sure if the ROI is right here

Highly recommended. Absolutely delicious, everything freshly prepared, the most delicious schnitzel ever! I found it on Facebook. In the summer, you can also sit outside. Definitely a must-visit when I'm back in Potsdam. 🥰

The service is very mediocre. At first, the waiters came every five minutes, but after dessert, no one came. After being ignored for almost half an hour, the bill only came when we asked. But before that, no waiter was to be found... However, the waiters' long smoking breaks were clearly visible through the window.

We passed by this restaurant. Because there were so many customers, we spontaneously decided to eat there. We were totally surprised by the XXL offerings. We immediately ordered our drinks and food on our smartphones using a QR code. We then realized that the waiter had to approve the order first. So, I don't think this additional hurdle is worth it. The food arrived relatively quickly. It was very tasty. My extra sauce was served later, so it's not visible in the attached picture. Unfortunately, the second drink order took a while to arrive. We were also told the reason, so we understood. There were too many customers arriving at the same time. I would go again.

We were a bit skeptical at first—it was just a lot of XXL, but not the best quality—but it was simply delicious. My son had asked for schnitzel for his birthday, and we had the family version for 4-6 people. The size was exactly right, and the meat was really tasty, fresh, and tender. The spare ribs were also excellent. Even the fries were exceptionally delicious and crispy. And to top it all off, each of the three waiters was super friendly, nice, and accommodating. I've been to Redo XXL in Berlin countless times and have always been very satisfied – great service and everything was perfect. But here in Potsdam, it was an absolute disaster: We waited 55 minutes for our order, only to find out that it wasn't in the system and hadn't been processed at all. When we wanted to leave, they wanted to charge us €15 just for three Cokes. A complete disappointment for me – never again!

The food was very tasty, typical of Redo. Unfortunately, the service today was really bad. After we asked several times to order drinks, the waiter who seemed to be in charge finally came. It then took, without exaggeration, 20 minutes before we got three drinks. We then wanted to order food, but the waiter who brought the drinks said it wasn't possible. His colleague would do it. Another 15 minutes passed before the colleague in question finally arrived. So we sat for almost 45 minutes before we could even order food. The food finally arrived after about 25 minutes. Finally it was time to pay, which unfortunately ended with me going to the bar and paying there straight away, as no waiter noticed us. All in all, despite the good food, it wasn't a great visit today.

You can do it. It's event catering, after all. Portions are large and delicious.

Nearly empty terrace, yet service was non-existent. Drinks took more than 45 minutes, and after another 45 minutes nobody had taken our food order. We reminded the waiters several times, but they ignored us. We left.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. It took them one full hour just to bring us our drinks, and after one hour and a half we still hadn’t even been asked for our food order. Meanwhile, we noticed that the staff kept serving people who had arrived well after us. In the end, we had no choice but to leave without eating. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place based on our experience.

The food was good again. But instead of the 2-kilo schnitzel we ordered, I think we were only served the smaller 1.3-kilo portion. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until we'd already eaten some...

Visit: 09/13/25 4:45 PM - Unfortunately, one star has to be awarded, but it really doesn't deserve one! In our opinion, the entire room is far too dark. The waitresses were unsuccessful, so we and another couple simply found a table ourselves. After another 15 minutes, the couple next door informed the waitress that some guests would like to order. The waitresses overall seemed unenthusiastic. It was unpleasant that a former colleague was being audibly insulted at the counter/cash register. He apparently resigned because he was dissatisfied with the hygiene standards there. The Vietnamese-looking waitress had difficulty speaking to us and tried to list everything that was no longer available in XXL size in this XXL restaurant today (already at 5:00 PM). Therefore, the roulades and burgers (XXL) were also out of stock... The 30-minute wait for fries and schnitzel was also far too long; the place wasn't busy for a good reason. The Polish female server didn't shy away from making the atmosphere even more uncomfortable by asking questions quite loudly inside the dining room, or from looking out the window at the same table as other diners... At €42.40 (one XXL schnitzel and a Coke), it's far too expensive. In a better setting and with good, attentive staff, you could almost get two different dishes. This place needs to be cleaned up considerably, and the availability of dishes needs to be optimized.

Very nice restaurant. Service was very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The food tasted very good, but these XXL portions are a bit excessive. Who knows how much food gets thrown away because the portions are so huge.

Top service, friendly staff, very accommodating. We managed to get a Kaiserplatte for four. Absolutely delicious. We were very satisfied! We'd be happy to return.

The schnitzel was really good, but the fries and fried potatoes could have been a bit crispier for our taste. The decor was really good. Unfortunately, the table we sat at was a bit sticky, the music was a bit too loud for us, and there was no soap in the restroom. Without these shortcomings, I would definitely have given it 5 stars, as the service was really friendly and very fast.

Service was very slow. The beer column alone took half an hour! Edit: I was just hungry, so it wasn't so bad after all.

We spontaneously decided to go to this restaurant with a group of 10 people. Two waiters told us straight away, and very snippily, that it was absolutely impossible without a reservation (quote). Only a third person suggested it could take about an hour and a half. We then left the restaurant and—following a recommendation—went to the neighboring restaurant. Of course, this was perfectly understandable for us, given the size of our group. What surprised us, however, was that during the entire hour and a half we spent in the neighboring restaurant, the Redo XXL outdoor area remained at a maximum of 20% full.

We had the XXL crispy currywurst, which was unfortunately truly disappointing. The portion size wasn't great, but the taste wasn't particularly impressive. The cocktails weren't particularly tasty either. The service wasn't great either; no one asked how things tasted or offered to reorder drinks. The fries were completely unsalted.

The three of us arrived at the restaurant with great anticipation. Unfortunately, the experience was rather disappointing. For three people wanting to eat at Redo, the waiter assigned us a small bistro table. And that was it for now. After 7 minutes, the menu finally arrived, and after about another 15 minutes, we were allowed to order drinks. (The outdoor area was definitely not full.) We ordered an XXL schnitzel, a salad, and the XL rump steak. After 28 minutes, the salad arrived from a waiter who had no idea what exactly he was having, let alone which table it was for. Another 5 minutes later, the schnitzel arrived on a chipped tray, and then nothing for a while. After another 12 minutes, the rump steak arrived, which had probably been sitting at the counter for that long, because it was at least still lukewarm. Now, one could rightly say, why didn't you say anything about it? I was hungry, had only eaten a little something for lunch as "preparation," and had already waited 62 minutes for something to eat. After dinner, we continued sitting at the now-full bistro table and wanted to chat. Well, about 30 minutes after eating, after we approached a waiter and told them we would pay, since no one else was coming, they finally started bringing ONE plate. We weren't even asked about more drinks the entire time. We'll just go somewhere else after that; the location guarantees that. For me, this is a unique experience and one of the worst kind. The ambiance there would be very nice if they paid attention to small details. A chair cushion would be a start, perhaps clearing the surrounding tables and wiping the tables would also be great. In our case, it was ketchup and probably herb butter on the table. Potsdam will never be back. I'll probably give one of the other restaurants another chance, because I like the concept and I'm just hoping it just doesn't fit in the Potsdam store.

The Disappointment That Left Us ​Our visit to Redo XXL in Potsdam was unfortunately anything but satisfactory. Upon arrival, we were forced to wait despite having a reservation. The biggest inconvenience, however, was that we were only moved after waiting 40 minutes for our drinks. This was just the beginning of a chain of service that turned out to be a disaster. ​From then on, the service was complete chaos. During the evening, our server changed three times, making any personal contact impossible. The wait time for our food skyrocketed – we waited a full 1.5 hours, only to discover that our appetizer had been completely forgotten. The service was simply disastrous. ​Aside from the poor service, we also found the ambiance very disturbing. The noise level was far too high, making the atmosphere very unpleasant. ​A culinary bright spot in the dark service ​The only bright spot this evening was the kitchen: The food was, as always, magnificent. But even that couldn't make up for the catastrophic service deficiencies and the inconvenience. ​Conclusion ​Due to these negative experiences, we will visit the Ketzin branch again next time, where we have always felt comfortable and the service was excellent.

We were at REDO XXL Potsdam today. The service was excellent, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The quality of what we ordered was impeccable 👍 but unfortunately, we couldn't manage it 😂 despite ordering "normal" portions. Our visit was certainly not our last 👍👍GIG

Very good place, the portions were huge. The price/performance ratio was absolutely reasonable, and it was tasty, too. The staff were friendly and competent.

They promise big things and then don't deliver. From the service to the food, nothing caught my attention. Even after I expressed my dissatisfaction, nothing happened. Worst schnitzel ever. Simply the last thing I saw here. I'll never go back. I paid for the rubbish and left the place of horror.

We were at your place for lunch on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The food was really good (nothing to complain about), but the waiter (he said he was new) was completely overwhelmed (probably because they were understaffed). I ordered a diesel and got a shandy. He was completely overwhelmed when it came to taking my order, and I had to show him what I wanted (he could speak German, but didn't understand everything), but he was very nice and accommodating. That's my only criticism. If you're going to employ people who don't speak the language very well, you shouldn't leave them to their own devices.

I was looking forward to the visit for a long time and was then unfortunately disappointed. 1. Communication problems with the waiter. He showed me the order man so I could tap my own finger to indicate what I wanted for a simple change to the side dish (wedges instead of fries). The €5.50 surcharge was completely excessive. 2. 1kg of ribs could have been left in the oven at full speed for at least another 15 minutes. As it was, they were simply marinated and heated up and coated with BBQ from the bottle. The roasted aromas were missing, making them a disappointing taste. However, they were very tender and served quickly. My companion's 200g chicken schnitzel unfortunately didn't look very special (forgot to take a photo), but she really enjoyed the coleslaw. I come from a restaurant background and have prepared tons of ribs. Schnitzel is also one of my favorite dishes. So I can say I know a thing or two about it 👨‍🍳

We were back for dinner! Simply delicious. The staff were super friendly and cheerful. They catered for everything, whether you were really hungry or a little hungry, or thirsty. The food arrived relatively promptly. It wasn't the first or last time we were there. Just a big thank you for everything! Great!

Some of the food was made from simple ingredients. The sauce was mixed from packets. The 3-liter drink (for €50) was a complete disaster. It was either cheap booze or there was hardly any alcohol in it. When asked, they confirmed that there was minimal alcohol in it. The service was super nice and friendly. The rest is a rip-off.

We ordered a family-sized 2kg pork chop with fries. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The chop was very well-done, with plenty of fries, and a bit too much coleslaw, but there were also some greens. Six of us easily filled up. The restaurant's interior is atmospheric and very pretty. There are plenty of tables outside. Free restrooms are available.
