Brasserie zu Gutenberg in Potsdam

5 Sterne sind zu wenig. Preis/Leistung sehr angemessen. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Essen Note 1+. Die sanitären Einrichtungen sauber und gepflegt. Sehr gut geschultes Personal. Ich werde dort bestimmt wieder essen.

Ich war nur zum Mittagessen hier und kann daher nur über das Restaurant sprechen, aber das Essen war hervorragend. Es war gut zubereitet, wurde schnell serviert und das Ambiente ist gemütlich und authentisch, ganz anders als bei Touristen. Es handelt sich um eine französisch-deutsche Brasserie, daher reicht die Speisekarte von Coq au Vin und Flammkuchen bis hin zu Schnitzel und Steaks vom Lavasteingrill. Nach nur einem Essen würde ich jederzeit wiederkommen. Wer das Restaurant auf Google Maps sucht, sollte wissen, dass es sich eigentlich um eine kleine Pension mit einer Brasserie im Erdgeschoss handelt. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich nur wenige Gästezimmer. Daher wird sie unter Hotels angezeigt, obwohl die meisten Gäste zum Essen kommen. Die Lage ist ideal: mitten im Zentrum, nahe dem Holländischen Viertel und nur wenige Gehminuten von Sanssouci entfernt. Ein perfekter Ort für eine Mittagspause während einer Sightseeing-Tour.

Wirklich lecker, freundliches Personal und tolle Atmosphäre.

Leider war der Service nicht sehr gut wir haben 15 minten gewartet um zu bestellen leider ist die Bedienung mehrmals an uns vorbeigegangen ohne ein Wort mit uns zu wechseln. Sind nach längere Zeit dann zum Glück gegangen.

Der Service ist so naja... wenn man 5x an den Menschen vorbei läuft ohne zu fragen was sie möchten.

Sehr charmantes Ambiente. Angenehmer leicht frankophiler Einrichtungsstil. Großartige Bedienung, sehr freundlich und kompetent. Ein besonderes Lob gilt der Musikauswahl. Wie haben Spargel mit Schnitzel gegessen, die war hervorragend. Sehr guter Spargel. Zum Nachtisch Babelsberger Eis. Rundum zufrieden. Ordentliche, gute Küche ohne viel ChChi. Wir kommen wieder!

Wir waren mit der Familie zum Osteressen da. Es wurde Coq au vin, Schnitzel, Pasta mit Blattspinat und Garnelen, Rinderschmor mit Semmelknödeln und eine Grillplatte bestellt. Unser Serveur war sehr freundlich, das vorab. Der Grillteller wurde expliziet ohne Schweinefleisch bestellt (wir betonten das wirklich extra, da wir damit schonmal Probleme hatten, was wir auch mitgeteilt hatten, woraufhin der Gaston sagte 'dafür bin ich ja jetzt da' also sas es richtig gemacht wird), was ankam-ein Grillteller mit Schweinefleisch. Der Teller wurde zurückgenommen und als er wiederkam erkannte man, dass nur das Schweinefleisch heruntergenommen wurde und durch Geflügel ersetzt wurde. Der Teller ging wiederholt zurück, mit dem Kommentar, dass das so nicht essbar sei. Es kam dann ein letzter Teller, dessen Essen verzehrbar war. Das Geschmorte mit den Knödeln war ok. Das Fleisch war zart, die Knödel waren normal. Allerdings hat man bei geschmortem Fleisch eine andere Vorstellung-eine heiße Ofenschale in dem das Fleisch in einer genießbaren Soße liegt. Es lag in einer nicht warmen Keramikschale, mit einer wässrigen Brühe. Die Knödel hatten keine Soße, lagen traurig nebendran. Die Garnelen in der Spinat Pasta-semi. Waren eben aufgetaute TK Garnelen und der Blattspinat (Babyspinat) wurde oben drauf gelegt. Das Schnitzel war reichlich. Also alles in allem war es Preis-Leistungsgemäß und vom Ambiente nichts, wo ich nochmal essen oder was ich weiter empfehlen würde. Wer eine schöne Location, mit etwas Ausblick und einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre sucht, sollte weitersuchen. Ich habe dieses Mal leider keine Fotos.

Essen und Ambiente waren okay. Für den Preis bekommt man woanders aber deutlich mehr geboten. Beispielsweise ist es andernorts auch üblich, ab einem bestimmten Mindestumsatz eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit wie ein Getränk aufs Haus zu erhalten. Das war dort trotz hoher Rechnung leider nicht der Fall. Insgesamt etwas enttäuschend.

Bin kurzentschlossen in Potsdam geblieben und habe ein Zimmer für eine Nacht gesucht. Preis-Leistung sehr gut. Alles tipptopp sauber, sieht neu und gut gepflegt aus. Ruhige und zentrale Lage - und leckeres Bier!! Ausspreche Anerkennung!

Sind zum Mädelswochenende in Potsdam mal wieder und dort heute spontan gegen 17 Uhr eingekehrt, bei fast 20 Grad Ende Februar haben wir draußen sehr gemütlich gesessen. Der Service war super nett, das Essen wunderbar lecker und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gern wieder.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal hier. Kurz gesagt Perfekt !!!!

Wir sind immer im Dezember in Potsdam und immer ist ein Besuch muss. Der Service der netten Kellner ist perfekt,aufmerksam,freundlich und einfach perfekt. Das Essen schmeckt einfach super. Da merkt man eben das gehobene.

Ein rundum wunderbares Mittagserlebnis in der Brasserie zu Guttenberg im Holländischen Viertel in Potsdam. Sowohl der Coq au Vin (der Burner) als auch der Flammkuchen waren eine echte Gaumenfreude – hervorragend zubereitet und voller Geschmack. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, gemütlich und zugleich elegant, und das Personal ausgesprochen zuvorkommend, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Wir waren am 30.12.2025 zur Mittagszeit dort und kommen ganz sicher wieder. Eine klare Herzensempfehlung! ❤️

Absolutely delicious, super friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the tasty food. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but the dishes are hearty and generous. Meat lovers will be in heaven here, but there are also vegan options, albeit limited. Since I couldn't finish my portion, I had them pack it up for me – no problem at all. Highly recommended! :)

What can I say? It's always good. A great selection of food, friendly service, and short wait times. The food is very well-made. It's always a regular stop for me when visiting Potsdam.

Super nice waitress, the food took forever, the cordon bleu tasted like it came from a deep fryer, and the sauce from a packet wasn't worthy of a brasserie. Conclusion: Once and never again.

The service was good and courteous. Unfortunately, we couldn't change the fact that we waited over an hour for our food despite having a reservation. The food was overwhelmingly unseasoned, and the rosemary potatoes were missing not only salt but also rosemary... What a shame! The meat was of good quality and very well cooked.

We went there for dinner with a group of eight people. We all ordered different dishes. The food arrived at the same time, and to be honest, it was extremely delicious. The selected wines were also very good. Because the brasserie was currently under scaffolding, there was also a 20% discount on the food. The service was very nice and friendly. A truly wonderful evening.

We dined here by chance this evening and were not disappointed. The ambiance, the service, and the food were all simply fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, making us feel very comfortable. The food was freshly prepared, and the many homemade dishes were also truly delicious. All in all, a great visit and a big compliment to all the staff. We will be back.

Disappointing - it's just another place doing standard German food, but they charge 50% extra for no apparent reason. Highlight was the waiter trying to aggressively hustle me into leaving a tip for his robotic service. Avoid, there are loads of better places in Potsdam.

Absolutely excellent food and drink

Two of us went out to eat with our dog. It was very pleasant, with super friendly servers and exceptionally good food. The price was reasonable. We'd be happy to go again!

We went there on a Saturday afternoon because we couldn't find any other restaurant in downtown Potsdam. Prices are high. We paid €21.50 for five spears of asparagus, far too little hollandaise sauce, and a few potatoes. We were completely hungry after our museum visit and drove home. The atmosphere was like being at a train station. Very disappointing. And we waited a very long time for the food.

Best Schnitzel I have had, very good price/quality ratio and also very friendly service which is uncommon for germany! A must go!

We were two couples eating there together. The service was polite, but it took almost an hour from ordering to receiving our food. Two had Wienerschnitzel and one had coq au vin, both dishes were tasty and well-prepared. The last of us had white fish with fresh asparagus, hollandaise sauce and white potatoes. Unfortunately, the fresh white asparagus turned out to be a huge disappointment. It had been cooked for far too long and had become soft and chewy. Too bad, because the fish was actually fine. We pointed this out and the waiter immediately admitted the mistake, and a little later he brought us an apology from the kitchen. It must also be said in fairness that the restaurant rectified the mistake by reducing the bill quite a bit.

Excellent French restaurant! The food is simply superb, especially the coque au vin. The waiters are always very attentive. The restaurant is located almost in the center of the pedestrian street. They also have tables outside, it’s even very nice to sit there, not many people walk by.

Very tasty entrecote with bacon beans and rosemary potatoes with pepper cream sauce. Simply a poem. Plus in the promotion 2 for the price of one!!! You can't get this quality anywhere else. The service was again very friendly and quick. Danny always has a cool saying on his lips. The location is highly recommended.

The Brasserie zu Gutenberg in Potsdam's city center has been our favorite culinary address for special evenings for years. As soon as you enter, you will notice the **stylish furnishings** with red leather armchairs, warm wooden tables and subtle lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere between French charm and modern comfort. The **outstanding staff** makes every visit an experience - from the friendly welcome to the competent wine recommendation. The service staff are always attentive without seeming intrusive and patiently explain specialties such as the *“Pré et mer”* (beef fillet with king prawns) or the Alsatian tarte flambée. The **Steaks** are one of our highlights: The tender *Entrecôte* (300g) with Mediterranean chili sauce and rosemary potatoes impresses with its perfect cooking level, while the *Beef fillet* (200g) with veal jus regularly causes enthusiasm. But other dishes are also impressive - the *French onion soup* with a cheese crust is a strong start, and the *vegetarian tagliatelle* with goat cheese surprises with its creaminess. We particularly appreciate the **variety of the menu**, which ranges between classic brasserie dishes (like *Coq au vin*) and creative interpretations. Finally, the *Crème Brûlée* with its perfectly caramelized surface should not be missed. Our conclusion after numerous visits: An address that always impresses with its **consistent quality**, loving details (such as homemade sauces) and casual elegance. We are already planning our next evening – perhaps combined with a stay in the in-house guesthouse.

We dined there again. Yes, FOOD, because FOOD doesn't apply. Our entrecote was wonderfully balanced and seasoned and the recommended wine went perfectly with it. CHAPEAU!

In a large group of 10 people, we enjoyed a very, very tasty meal in a cozy atmosphere, with excellent advice from our very friendly and competent waiter! All dishes arrived quickly and were cooked to perfection and hot at the table. Thank you for a very nice evening!!

My wife and I had reservations for dinner. We were warmly greeted as soon as we arrived without having to wait and were able to choose between two tables. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. The food came in a reasonable amount of time and was very tasty. We liked it and would like to come back.

I first got to know the “Brasserie zu Gutenberg” through an invitation. And I can say that the visit was really worth it! A fine, not too extensive map, in my opinion everyone will find something there. And there is also a menu with Christmas dishes. Attentive and humorous service, very tasty food and a very pleasant atmosphere! I'd love to come back.

Dopo aver visitato Potsdam, abbiamo deciso di mangiare in questo ristorante. Personale gentile, ci hanno fatto accomodare velocemente, in uno dei tavoli esterni. Piatti tipici tedeschi, molto buona la schnitzel.

Great staff, friendly, polite and always ready to have fun. Plenty of food. However, the cook was probably in love, the fries and mushrooms were very salty. All in all, highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant on the first evening of our stay in Potsdam. We hadn't made a reservation, but that wasn't a problem as there was plenty of space both on the terrace and inside. We were greeted by a very nice waiter who assigned us a spot inside. The order was taken by another (bald) less friendly waiter. The aperitif order went wrong. My wife ordered an Apérol Spritz and I ordered a pastis. My wife received an oversized Spezi instead of the ordered drink. When we kindly pointed out the misunderstanding to the waiter, he replied mockingly and rather arrogantly that my wife had indeed ordered a Spezi and made no effort to take the Spezi back and replace it with an Apérol Spritz. My wife was somewhat upset by this unfriendly behavior. It was unfortunate that the other (friendly) waiter was no longer to be seen. The food was okay but not top-notch, and we eventually paid 75.70 euros for a Spezi (!), a pastis, 2 main courses, and a bottle of mineral water. There are better restaurants in Potsdam where the service is indeed customer-friendly.

Aufgewärmter "Frass" aus der Mikrowelle, schon 5 min nach Bestellung serviert. Wo ist da bitte die gehobene französische Küche? Einfach nur schrecklich. Komme nie wieder! Coq au vin aus der Mikro war natürlich hart, Fleisch zäh, zerkocht, ohne Geschmack. Hat alles nach Fertiggericht geschmeckt. Atmosphäre draußen auf der Gehwegs-Terrasse wie am Bahnhof. Drinnen stinkts wie alter Muff, da kann man keinesfalls sitzen.

Food was good though the sauces were a tad bit salty to our liking. Service was great. We ordered corden bleu, coq au vin, meat platter and a couple more dishes that we didn’t managed to take pictures cause we were too hungry but they were amazing. Will definitely visit again if we go back!

My husband and I went with my daughter, her partner and our one-year-old grandson. The waiter was personable and welcoming, a high chair was produced for the young one, and the food was plentiful and delicious. We all enjoyed our different meals - pork schnitzel, steak, coq au vin and a pasta dish. We had eaten there before two years ago on a previous visit to Potsdam and would gladly go again.

I had a meal here with my friend. Food was pleasant enough with a nice view down the street if seated outside. Service was decent enough from one of our waiters, the other kind of mocked my friend when she requested no onions due to intolerances. Later when we got the bill, the same rude waiter came with the receipts and emphasised loudly to us that tip is not included. When we said ok we don't want to pay a tip, he kept acting ignorant saying "There isn't a tip included in this, you have to tell me how much" and kept pushing it. We ended up rounding up each of our amounts (split bill), with him scoffing and shaking his head the whole time, clearly pissed off. When he walked away a lovely German lady who overheard everything backed us up and told us that you do not have to pay a tip in Germany, don't listen to people like the waiter who do that. Felt so validated after that, and even more pissed at the waiter's attitude. Would not recommend

Great ambience, good beer and excellent food. Of course, corresponding prices, but also very good staff. All in all a successful evening.

We ate here and it was very good. A really nice atmosphere, very friendly and attentive service - we left the Vrasserie very satisfied and full. Again any time!
