GARAGE du PONT in Potsdam

We ate there with seven people. The food was very tasty. Thursdays are currywurst day. Very good service, everyone very friendly. Is close to many Potsdam/Berlin attractions: Glienicke Bridge, Glienicke Castle and Hunting Lodge, Jungfernsee, Glienicke Park etc.

The place is very picturesque. We tried the Thursday special...it was good. The chocolate mouse is very delicious. The attention very good.

Full marks from me. 😀 We reminisced about our vacation in France and, as a car and vintage car lover, I really enjoyed the automotive surroundings.

Local 200 meters from the Bridge of Spies, location of some films, and real place of exchange of secret agents between East and West during the Cold War. Very nice, apparently a former service station, the interior is nice and soft, the food is excellent, the waiters are discreet and kind.

The four of us had dinner in the garage today and we were all satisfied. The entrecote was ok and, along with the salad and some vegetables and fries, it was also sufficiently sized. The venison goulash with dumplings and red cabbage was just as delicious as the quiche. The service was unobtrusively polite and the evening was so enjoyable all around - thank you very much!

We had the PLEASURE of visiting this very special place in Potsdam mid September 2024 - enjoyed a lunch in the sun on a warm day sitting outside with a view to 2 older MB SL's This restaurant is located very close to the famous/historical Glienecker Brücke and to the lake - we will soon be back

We celebrated our wedding with 33 guests in the magical wine lounge, which is located on the upper floor. Here we also had a large terrace all to ourselves. A week before the event, the restaurant manager called Sammy again and went through all the details with me because she didn't want to leave anything to chance. The team lovingly prepared the room for us and set the table festively. Our spontaneous wish to decorate a little ourselves was also received with a lot of goodwill and made possible. Even on the day of the wedding, our every wish was met and made possible. We were spontaneously able to welcome two more guests - no problem for the garage team. We and our guests also messed up the schedule that had been set in advance because we were very hungry - no problem here either, as the food was served earlier. Everyone agreed: the food was great! Also definitely worth mentioning are the creative and extremely tasty cocktails from Chriss, the Garage bartender. He surprised us throughout the evening with cocktails like the Pralinchen, Martini Pornstar, Daiquiris and others! Our thanks for this super relaxed celebration go to the garage team, especially Jette, Max, Sammy and Chriss!

We came for the currywurst and were surprised by the “lavender praline”. Unexpected but great with many facets, we found one of the best drinks in the city in the Berlin suburb. Recommendation and thumbs up - as well as for the currywurst.

Mega delicious food and nice service! The food came quite quickly and the dessert was amazing 🤩. Only the parking situation is really difficult. There are far too few parking spaces and there is hardly any parking in the area. Otherwise we would love to come back! 😊

It was a lovely pit stop after a long and beautiful day. The staff was very welcoming despite a busy terrace. The food choices are very interesting, and I say that in the best possible way. The whole concept of the place is well curated and maintained.

We were spontaneously in the garage recently and had the pleasure of being seated close to the counter. This meant we had the pleasure of ordering our drinks directly from the bartender. He gave us very good advice and the drinks were totally refreshing. We ordered the schnitzel with chanterelles, which was also very tasty. We'd love to come back. Many thanks to the entire team.

The garage is highly recommended. Be it for eating or just drinking. The dishes on offer are outstanding, for example the tarte flambée. But you can also get delicious cocktails at the bar. The bartender obviously enjoys fulfilling it, even if you express a special cocktail request. The location is divided into two, events such as after-work parties take place at the back and the restaurant is at the front. Very rustic and comfortably furnished.

On Sunday I stopped by this restaurant with my partner to have something to eat and a few drinks. We ordered a great schnitzel and very good drinks. We were also served extremely politely and courteously. The bartender in the house recommended great drinks to our taste, which were convincing. After the evening we left the restaurant feeling full and feeling good and will definitely come back.

An absolute highlight in Potsdam! The Garage du Pont impresses with a unique atmosphere that immediately invites you to stay longer. The dishes are not only excellently presented, but also tasteful at the highest level. The team is incredibly friendly and attentive, you immediately feel welcome. After always hearing very nice things about the Garage du Pont, I recently went in: Great cocktails! Really recommended. The ambience is also very pleasant. Overall: I'll come back with friends and then we'll test the interesting menu.

Very good food, but not cheap. Since it's right on a busy street, it's relatively noisy. But that's no surprise since it's an old, converted gas station. This gives it a special flair.

After the tour and the visit to the Glienicke Bridge, I went to the Garage du Pont. An old gas station at the entrance to Potsdam that has been lovingly renovated and converted into a restaurant. Coffee and cake rounded off the trip.

The food was good. The dishes we ordered came quickly. We had to wait a little longer for the first drink. Petsonal is nice and hard-working, but you get the feeling that they don't have a plan or overview. The niceness of the waiters and delicious food neutralized any small shortcomings. We will be back definitely.

Ordered an aperitif that didn't come and when the food came, we got our aperitif.. 🤔 Young staff who didn't have much control over things and overall it seemed more like a cafeteria than a restaurant.

An original idea to set up a restaurant in the old gas station, which actually used to be one. With the nice weather, we had seats outside next to a (not real) gas pump. Both the asparagus dishes and my "COQ AU VIN" were very good. The comment when ordering the wine was a bit irritating. But we got a suitable wine. After a visit to Glienicke Castle or the New Garden, you can have a good meal here at the end of the day.

One of my favorite French restaurants, the staff are adorable and funny! Always delicious food and exceptional cocktails.

We spontaneously came here for drinks and were impressed by the special cocktails. We asked for an "off-menu" cocktail and were very happy with the creation!

Super great atmosphere... Nice staff who were there quickly and friendly despite a larger celebration. We were there at coffee time and enjoyed home-baked cakes and delicious latte macchiato or apple spritzer.

Makes a better impression from the outside than it actually is. We found it incredibly loud. In our opinion, the food was nothing special and was not a taste highlight. The service was just bad. No questions asked if we would like anything else. Waitress was busy eating the leftover bread from our bread basket and then ran to the next table with her mouth full.

We stopped by spontaneously yesterday when we were nearby. We were very positively impressed. Food tasty and quickly prepared (coq au von and tarte flambée). We then stayed longer after the meal and had a few drinks based on the recommendations of the very friendly and competent bartender. Nice ambience and relaxed atmosphere. Very fine.

Above all, the location is super cute. The food is quite basic but tastes good and the wine is from Günther Jauch's winery and is delicious.

The food was excellent. A service person was very friendly, clear and understanding. The music was a little too loud. When we asked to turn it down a little, another service worker gave us a critical answer: "What's even quieter?" . Music was still turned down. Parking is available, but narrow and only limited space. All in all a very nice restaurant, with very tasty food and a pleasant atmosphere. Toilets also very clean and nicely decorated.

The visit was great. Great end to the end of the day. What I particularly liked was the cocktail advice. Had an awesome whiskey sour with smoke. I've never drunk like that before. I can definitely recommend it and will come back.

Before our child was born, my partner and I wanted to go out for a nice meal. We chose Garage du Pont and loved it! There were delicious (vegan) dishes and the bartender knew how to serve me a fantastic non-alcoholic cocktail while I was pregnant, which not only suited my taste but was also damn tasty without being just a wild mixture of juices like it was This is usually the case with non-alcoholic cocktails. It was an overall lovely restaurant experience!

The stay in the Garage du Pont was not only spontaneous for the first time, but also of omnipotent proportions. We just wanted to go for a coffee and maybe have an alcoholic drink. However, thanks to great advice from Chris (the local bar god), we got an excellent gin and tonic tasting. To provide sufficient basis, we ate the Alsatian style tarte flambée and I (as a chef) have to say that it was one of the best tarte flambée I have eaten so far. Ambience, staff, cuisine: everything excellent. Only recommended.

I was very impressed by Chris, the bartender. The first drink was great, but what stood out was that Chris took the intiative, asked questions, and made recommendations of cocktails that were amazing. He knows taste palettes. And I haven't had so much fun drinking in years!

Ein wirklich chilliges Restaurant mit leichter französischer Küche, wo man es gut aushalten kann. Besonders zu empfehlen ist die extrem leckere Fischsuppe. Besonders positiv aufgefallen ist der Service. Angefangen vom Barkeeper, der individuell berät und Cocktails vorschlägt, die nicht auf der Karte stehen und sehr lecker sind. Bis hin zur ausgezeichneten Bedienung, besonders der blonde junge Mann, der ausgezeichnet bei der Weinauswahl berät und freundlich das gastronomische Erlebnis nochmal steigert.

Dort ist man absolut willkommen.

Hier ist ein ganz besonderer Ort. Das Essen war phänomenal. Einfach große Klasse. Wir haben es sehr genossen und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir sind seit einigen Jahren SEHR gerne Gäste der Garage du Pont und kommen auch immer wieder mit Freunden; drinnen wir draussen ist es immer schön. Spezielles Ambiente, spezielle Stimmung, ein Ort für alle Generationen. Es ist preislich gehoben, aber die Qualität der Speisen stimmt ! Auch der Service war bisher immer Spitze, extrem aufmerksam und zugewandt, ebenso die - immer wechselnden- Cocktailangebote der Wochenkarte. Gestern, Sonntag, wurden wir zum ersten Mal enttäuscht. Wir hatten eine Tisch für drei Personen für das Abendessen reserviert. Als wir eintrafen, tobten drei Kinder im Alter von 3- 6 Jahren (?) um die Tische herum, warfen sich auf den Boden, robbten unter die Tische, es wurde gerannt, geschrieen , ein Automat laut klackernd " traktiert". Die Eltern waren mit einem Neugeborenen beschäftigt bzw kommunizierten mit einem anderen Ehepaar quer durch den Gastraum. Wir bestellten unsere Cocktails und als Starter die Currywurst vom Havelschwein mit Pommes Frites. Zum ersten Mal seit wir die Garage du Pont kennen, wurde uns mitgeteilt, Currywurst gäbe es nur am Donnerstag (wir haben sie definiv auch oft an anderen Tagen gegessen !). Mittlerweile hatte sich der "Kinderzirkus" so verselbstständigt, dass es wirklich ungemütlich wurde. Die Eltern waren jedoch wenig gestört, noch weniger aber die Bedienung, von der wir - im Sinne der anderen Gäste - erwartet hätten, dass sie sich einmal mit der Bitte um etwas Ruhe an die Eltern der Kinder gewendet hätte. So stellen wir uns McD vor . . . "Service" deshalb hier und heute nur 1 Stern ! Wir haben unsere Cocktails geleert, ebenso die Schale mit den exquisten Pommes Frites (die gibt es- nach wie vor - jeden Tag, dann eben ohne Currywurst), haben unseren Gast umdisponiert und den Hauptgang des Abendessens in ein Restaurant verlegt, in dem Preis und Anspruch übereinstimmen. Um allen Missverständnissen vorzubeugen: Auch wir haben Kinder, und auch wir finden es richtig, sie mit ins Restaurant zu nehmen. Allerdings achten wir dann - ungefragt- darauf, dass sie die anderen Gäste nicht stören. Falls sich Eltern nicht selber kümmern können /wollen, wäre es gut, wenn die MA des Restaurants unaufgefordert für eine für ALLE angenehme Atmosphäre sorgen würden. Sonst bleibt, wie gestern , nur die Flucht . . . Hallo Garagen -Team, danke für Ihre Antwort und cool, dass Sie die Kommentare lesen. Es sieht jedoch so aus, als wenn Sie unseren Punkt nicht verstanden hätten: Unsere Kritik bezog sich nicht so sehr auf den Zeitpunkt, an welchem man die Wurst (nicht) essen kann, diese hätten wir ja soiweso auch nur als Vorspeise gewünscht.Wir kennen und schätzen die Garage auch für die vielen anderen lecken Gerichte auf der Speisekarte. Der Grund, warum wir gegangen sind, waren die tobenden Kinder, die mit ihrem Lärm , dem Herumrennen und dem Robben auf dem Boden extrem störten und um die sich weder die Eltern noch die "Gastgeber" kümmerten: Wir können und wollen uns doch als Fremde nicht selber an die Kinder anderer Leute wenden. Das "Ambiente" auf einem Niveau zu halten, wo sich alle wohlfühlen, kann nur das Restaurant-Team, nicht aber der Gast übernehmen. Das Team war aber überhaupt nicht alert. Wir haben uns dieses Mal überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt und finden es auch schade, dass das so abgetan wird.

Weihnachtsfeier war einfach nur stilvoll, schöne Räumlichkeiten, bester Weihnachtsbraten und dazu Top Kabeljau. Leckere Getränke mit Liebe zubereitet. Vielen Dank an das Personal, gerne wieder

Das Restaurant bietet bodenständige französische Küche wie Coq au vin, Fischsuppe oder Ente zu fairen Preisen. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll, schöne Originalfotos von Rennwagen aus den 60er und 70er- Jahren. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und kompetent. Knappe, aber gute Weinkarte. Ein ideales Restaurant, um mit Freunden oder Familie ein paar angenehme Stunden zu verbringen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Essen war sehr enttäuschend. Rote Bete Risotto übersichtlich und vom Geschmack langweilig. Der Wolfsbarsch trocken und auch mit 3 Happen verspeist. Es fehlte etwas Grünes und Frisches. Der Cappuccino war allerdings köstlich.
