This restaurant is only suitable for tapas lovers. The main courses are absolutely not recommended. However, I had to order a few extra appetizers to feel full. The waitress didn't write anything down, even though there were 12 of us. And she did a perfect job, not a single mistake. Thank you! Great atmosphere, and we even had a dancer in the restaurant, and everyone joined in. It was a fantastic experience. Is it a restaurant for a cozy dinner? No. But highly recommended for groups!

We were there two weeks ago for our bachelorette party and thoroughly enjoyed the venue. Our waitress, Roni, was very dedicated and reliable, and she kept a great eye on our table. The service was excellent! And a huge thank you for allowing us to make a reservation at such short notice. Another place at the harbor had only given us an hour, which we felt was outrageously short. But Palito accommodated us and gave us a fantastic evening! The dancer and the live musicians were incredible! The space is a bit cramped, unfortunately; the tables are so close to each other that you can't move around all that much. However, that's a minor issue when you've had such a wonderful evening (plus, the atmosphere was amazing)! Many thanks to the whole team and the kitchen staff; the food was outstanding! We'd love to come back again!

Please do not come this restaurant if you have other Peruvian choices! My worst ever dining experience in Düsseldorf during the trade show! The restaurant sitting spaces are super crowded and so closed with other tables. The food delivery time is quite long the food was not that authentic as others. Plus, watch out their waiters and waitresses when they deliver food or clean up the tables! They smashed a plate of leftover on my coat with oily and smelly sauce. Oh, they dropped sangria on another table clothes too! They tried to clean my coat, but you know it’s already everywhere and super annoyed they did not clean well at all! They did not offer any dry cleaning until I had delivered my complaint to them after we paid, but you know a visitor would not let they offer dry cleaning, then I cannot survive when I walk out to the door with just 4 degree C! Food portions were small, pretty much one dish for one person only cannot be shared! Oh, please make sure to check the bill CAREFULLY as well because they over charged 100 euro on my table with our next table’s food and drinks! And we spent another 20 mins there to count one by one with 3 different people! I would not come again anymore and please reconsider this restaurant if you really need to come here! Good luck

Palito in Düsseldorf's Old Town is a very pleasant restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, ideal for a relaxed dinner. The food is generally delicious – the lamb chops are particularly excellent. The burger is also good, and the desserts are perfectly acceptable. Overall, the restaurant deserves a solid 4 out of 5. Definitely recommended.

We were there on Saturday evening, a group of five. You absolutely have to make a reservation beforehand... there were already a few people waiting outside. The atmosphere is truly amazing. The restaurant's design is fantastic, with fitting music and later samba dancing and live music. The food was very good. The shrimp skewer was really impressive to look at. Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the service. They were very slow, and we were often ignored in our corner. We would have definitely ordered a few more drinks, what a shame 🤷‍♀️ At least another waiter noticed later and gave us a very tasty pistachio liqueur on the house.

The main course (a stir-fry with vegetables and a few prawns, plus three wraps for €28) was palatable, but also nothing special. I expected significantly more for the price. The rosé wine I ordered for €35 was also disappointing – not a high-quality wine, not recommended. Moreover, it had a screw cap instead of a cork, which seems inappropriate at this price. Conclusion: The service was pleasant, but the food and drinks in no way justify the high prices. The value for money is simply not there.

We were at Palito today. A middle-aged lady serving wasn't particularly friendly. We wanted a seat inside, as it was getting a bit chilly towards the evening. She argued with us that it was actually quite warm outside due to the heaters. Well, okay... we sat outside. Unfortunately, it wasn't really warm. A middle-aged gentleman serving was really super friendly and accommodating. We ordered appetizers (bread and empanadas). We expected more for the price. The flavor was good. For our main course, we had the fajitas with chicken and vegetables. When the servers brought the dishes, there was a bit of a rush. According to the menu, the fajitas were supposed to come with bread, guacamole, salsa dip, and sour cream. Unfortunately, this wasn't brought to us. The price is completely overpriced. €23.95 for some vegetables with wraps is quite a statement. The chicken was well seasoned, but without the individual dips, it was very dry. After paying, we wanted to put on our jackets. The very first server was already "dragging" new guests to our table. When we asked her if we could please put on our jackets in peace, she acted as if she didn't understand us. After we repeatedly pointed out to her that she was simply too fast and didn't show any appreciation for the guests, she just shrugged her shoulders. The visit was simply disappointing, even though the male server was really great! What a shame! Conclusion - I'd rather eat Asian food again!

I really don’t understand how this place has such good reviews on Google. First of all, the waiting time was a disaster — around 20 minutes just to get someone to take our order, and another 30 minutes before the food arrived. Considering it’s fair time in Düsseldorf, I expected the place to be better organized and staffed. The food itself was very average. The meat was not cooked as requested, the burger patty was dry and tasteless, and the dessert was nothing special — just standard. They clearly have too many tables packed in, trying to serve as many guests as possible without thinking about how to actually serve them properly. This directly affects both quality and service. In short, I’m disappointed. I travel a lot and have eaten in many restaurants, but this experience was far below expectations. I hope this review helps, and that management realizes that it’s not all about quantity — quality matters too.

I've only ever had fajitas at the SIZZLING PAN. Unfortunately, the pan was only served lukewarm there. Otherwise, everything was OK, but the prices are higher in the old town.

A very original and beautifully decorated Latin American restaurant. The food was, unfortunately, only average. The ceviche, which I originally came for, contained almost no fish and was also a bit too acidic. The tapas were okay. The atmosphere was quite touristy, and the service was rather tame, typical of Düsseldorf's old town, but nothing to complain about.

We went on a trip to Germany and this restaurant was recommended to us. Three of us went and loved every dish we ordered. We started with garlic bread and mini empanadas, then we ordered a burger that was very juicy and generous in quantity, and the burritos were also incredible. You can tell the quality of the products they use, and the fact that it's homemade speaks volumes. We'll definitely be back. The waiters were very attentive to everything.

I've been to Palito several times and had generally positive memories of it. But our visit yesterday for a friend's birthday party was a complete disappointment. Just 15 minutes before the party, the restaurant contacted us with a warning: If the booked person didn't show up, we'd have to pay a €30 cancellation fee. Things got even worse once we got there: The waiter checked his phone and said the reservation "hadn't gone through properly." Nevertheless, he told us we all had to order at least €40 per person for food, otherwise we'd have to vacate the table because there were supposedly ten other guests waiting outside. After some back and forth, he came back and finally said we could order whatever we wanted. But this kind of pressure alone was extremely unpleasant. When some of us didn't want anything to eat, the waitress immediately snatched plates and cutlery from the table in front of us – while we were all sitting at the table – with an aggressive attitude. Loud, unfriendly, and completely disrespectful. I've never experienced such behavior in a restaurant! The atmosphere was also a disaster: far too crowded, hot, the hallways full of tables, barely any space, and live music so loud that you couldn't have a normal conversation. It used to be atmospheric, but this time it was simply chaotic and annoying. Particularly unpleasant: The waiter and waitress engaged the birthday girl in an inappropriate conversation in front of all the guests, instead of acting professionally and respectfully. Especially on a day like this, one would have expected appreciation – instead, they felt like annoying intruders. And as if all that weren't enough, the next shock came at the end when paying: Some people had already paid for the birthday girl's drinks. But these drinks hadn't been removed from the system on the final bill, meaning she would have had to pay double or even triple. The waitress's response: a laconic "Oh yeah, I forgot" – as if it were completely normal. This is simply outrageous and absolutely unacceptable! I am truly deeply disappointed. Palito used to be a place where you could eat in peace and enjoy the music. Today, all that remains is the impression of stress, rip-offs, overcrowding, and disrespect. For us, this was an absolute low point and, unfortunately, the last time I was here with my friends...

Absolute rip-off – never again! We had reserved a table for 10 people for 10:30 pm. A time when you'd expect to enjoy drinks and cocktails, not to order €39 worth of food and drinks – per person!! Mind you, this was a requirement, not a "enjoy your time and order what you like" situation. This threat was made very clear to us at the table by the waiter, creating a very unpleasant situation for our hostess, who wanted to celebrate her birthday with us at this restaurant. After lengthy and repeated discussions, we were finally able to order drinks, and some of us even got something to eat. The place was packed; it's impossible that the restaurant would feel the need to kick our group out to let other guests in. This was made abundantly clear to us by the staff. Completely unprofessional, outrageous, and unfriendly – ​​I've never experienced anything like it! We have often been to Palito with large groups, but thanks to this evening we will gladly do without it in the future, because there are other restaurants in Düsseldorf where you are welcomed as a guest and not as an uninvited nuisance.

I celebrated my birthday here, and unfortunately, it was an extremely disappointing experience. Even before we arrived, I received a call from the reservationist, only eight minutes late – not in a friendly manner, but with unnecessary pressure. When we arrived, it turned out that the reservation hadn't been entered correctly, even though I had been called specifically. Right from the start, I was informed, in front of all my guests, that everyone was required to consume food and drinks for €39 per person. This requirement hadn't been communicated transparently to us beforehand, and it was a very unpleasant start. The waiter also told me that otherwise we would be asked to leave the restaurant to make room for "paying guests." Unbelievable! The service was unfortunately equally disappointing: The waitress seemed extremely unfriendly, demonstratively cleared the dishes from our table, slammed everything onto another table, and consistently conveyed a bad mood. I was also repeatedly told by a waiter that "that wasn't acceptable" and that we were the exception – which massively spoiled the entire atmosphere of my party. The worst part, however, was the payment: We were actually charged twice. Drinks and food that my guests had already paid for reappeared on the final bill – and I ended up having to pay for them again, even though we were sure they had already been charged. Overall, it was a very unpleasant evening, one I had imagined would be completely different for my birthday. Definitely not a place we would recommend or visit again.

We had to wait for over one hour before food was served and it was not very busy. Waiter apologised and offered two free drinks for the waiting. Food is not very good either; not refined and the fajitas were over cooked and too fatty. Salmon was dark brown, and the salad was a lot of green but hardly no toppings. I have to say, the waiter did his best to apologise for the long delay and offered us each a nice liquor. No, we won’t come here again, mostly because of the quality of the food. Better look for other place.

The steak and salmon were delicious, but the empanadas are stuffed with spinach. The tostones are soaked, and the main course of octopus comes with a 15-centimeter fried tentacle. Latin food doesn't seem Latin. But the place is impressive, the decor and atmosphere are spectacular. There was a girl dancing salsa, and there was a live show.

And YES, we got up and left without a word (that was wrong, we should have told the waiter directly, BUT I was so angry). And why all that? Because someone was sitting at the table you might have seen on TV. Shouldn't all guests be treated equally? There were a few guests sitting outside who still wanted to pay, etc., irrelevant to the server. P.S. I always tip very well when everything is fine, but I'm glad I didn't have to in this restaurant ;)
