The mango curry was decent, but the rice noodles were very salty and not hot enough. Koreans, beware! All of our personal and corporate credit cards failed to process. Travel wallets also didn't work. Luckily, I had cash, so I paid. Later, I read some reviews saying that card payments didn't go through.

The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely and cozy. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. Our waiter, Hai, was extremely friendly, courteous, and attentive. We will definitely be eating there again.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, we have to give it one star less due to the poor service. The staff were busy chatting with each other and were inattentive. We had to wait a long time for another drink order. We didn't order it, but paid and left. I don't think we'll want to come back again.

Insanely good. Was completely blown away by their dessert “stickyreis monkey”— be sure to try it if you have a sweet tooth. Everything was full of flavor. The people working were also lovely and had no trouble speaking english for me (danke!!). Just great place all around!! :)

Amazing true Vietnamese food. Cost benefits is awesome. You can have a grate dinner for around 20euros per person. They have an other only vegan restaurant but you can find some vegetarian options on the menu. The Vietnamese traditional coffe is a plus.

Absolutely not recommended. We sat down around 7:30 p.m., and from then on, everything went downhill. The appetizer didn't arrive for 25 minutes, used plates were simply left standing, and the main courses weren't served for another 25 minutes – while a table that arrived after us was served much faster and even finished before we even got our food. The restaurant wasn't even full; the staff were just standing at the bar chatting. The waitress (glasses, white T-shirt) was simply unprofessional and disrespectful. She made my companion carry the cutlery and menus to the table herself, while other tables were being properly set. When we said we weren't ready to order, she simply turned around and walked away without a word. Later, when we asked for the bill, she aggressively slammed her tablet down on the table. When we confronted her about her behavior, she simply responded with the rude, "Why do you think that?" – no insight, no respect. The difference in the way the guests were treated was particularly striking: We were the only Asian table, and it was obvious that European guests were served much more attentively, friendly, and with a smile – including regular inquiries as to whether everything was okay. Our table, on the other hand, was ignored and treated rudely. The food was mediocre at best, the service atrocious, and the atmosphere downright disrespectful. Anyone who values ​​a pleasant evening, decent service, or simply good food should definitely avoid this restaurant.

Delicious, but nothing special. Packed on a Wednesday, so be sure to make a reservation. Service was friendly, but overbooked. Drinks were okay, but there were some outages with the Yasmin-something-spritzer (it might have been called something else, though). The food looked very fresh, the vegetables super crisp and beautifully colored. I had salmon that was a bit too dry. Overall, everything was excellent, but the taste was far from refined, exotic, or unexpected. Rather lame. The ambiance was okay, very crowded and the seating was close together. Not too loud, but not very homely either. Overall, okay, with no highlights. Severe downgrade for the service: The main course arrived while we were still having our starters, and then they arrived with a significant delay, so we almost didn't eat together. I'd accept that in a snack bar, but it's not okay in a restaurant, even if they serve street food. Too bad. We had dessert somewhere else.

I've been there several times with friends and I'm absolutely thrilled. The ambiance is beautiful and tastefully decorated – including the outdoor area – very nice and cozy in warm weather. Very friendly and extremely customer-oriented service, and the food is simply delicious. Even when the restaurant is full, you get your food quickly. We've eaten our way through the menu, and there hasn't been anything yet that doesn't deserve 5 stars. A very good selection of starters, which I personally really like! The price-performance ratio is absolutely right for me. I was just in Vietnam for four weeks – the food at To1980 is very authentic. I will definitely come back again and again. The only downside is that I can't eat there every day, unfortunately, due to time constraints. ;))!

We ate here today. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were also excellent. The food arrived quickly. The service, however, was the absolute highlight. The manager was one of the sweetest and friendliest servers I've ever met. He was simply amazing. Even when we were annoying and couldn't decide, he gave us excellent advice. He definitely deserves a raise.

Delicious traditional Vietnamese cuisine. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about allergens. Those who need to eat gluten-free for their health can eat here with peace of mind. The fried spring rolls with rice paper are truly worth coming back for.

This was, without a doubt, the most delicious thing we've ever eaten in our lives. Even months later, we dream every day of traveling back to Düsseldorf just for this restaurant. Plus, the incredibly reasonable prices and incredibly fast preparation (can they do magic?). Five stars are far too low.

Delicious Vietnamese soup, nice staff

An unexpectedly pleasant and relaxed place. What might at first glance appear to be a snack bar from the outside and surroundings turns out to be a very nice restaurant. We were there early on a Thursday evening, and although a main road runs right outside, it didn't spoil the ambiance. The food was excellent, and the waitress was quick but not intrusive.

Indifferent service at its best. Waitress insisted that we order drinks before anything else like it's mandatory and kept walking away from us during the order to do other things. Pho was nice and gentle, Gyoza was obviously bought in frozen, oddly hard at the edges and with barely any flavor. Overall bland and forgettable.

The service and food were extremely fast. The restaurant seemed popular; we were able to get a table for two without a reservation, but even at 5:45 p.m., the restaurant was almost full. The dishes were very tasty and plentiful!

My favorite Thai restaurant. It's a shame I can only come once or twice a year! Whenever I come to Düsseldorf, I have to come because the dishes are delicious, the drinks are great, and they're plentiful! And the place is really cool.

SIMPLY DELICIOUS. At first I thought, "Mmm, I'm sure I won't be full," but I'm bursting. My highlight, however, is the pickled garlic. I would come back and order numbers 7, 8, 16, and 43 again. Yummy

To1980 is a cozy Vietnamese restaurant offering traditional dishes with rich flavors. I tried the PHỞ SỐT VANG and PHỞ NAM ĐỊNH—both with ribbon noodles, but the first one stood out with bold spices and tender beef. The cold summer tea made with lychees was super refreshing. Staff were friendly, service was quick, and menus are in both German and English. Definitely worth a visit for authentic taste!

Business lunch on May 16, 2025 We visited the restaurant late Friday evening; a reservation wasn't necessary that evening, as there were plenty of seats. The ambiance is very authentic and, with its Vietnamese style, invites you to relax. The service was very friendly, but the wait was nevertheless extraordinarily long, and unfortunately, even in the meantime, they didn't ask if there were any special requests. The menu was compact but still offered a wide selection. I particularly liked the large selection of fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes; there's something for all tastes. The drinks selection is very good, and there are also many non-alcoholic alternatives and cocktails. The food was of good quality; both the starter and dessert were very lightly spiced and a bit bland for my personal taste; the red curry in particular didn't really meet my expectations. The language on the plates was unspectacular. Overall, in my experience, it doesn't quite compare to authentic Asian street food and is very much geared towards the "German" guest. Nevertheless, we had a lovely and delicious evening at To1980. Thank you very much for that.

Service was friendly but unfortunately not very attentive. We had to constantly call the two young ladies to our table when we wanted to reorder, and they only cleared the table and asked when we wanted to pay. Unfortunately, the Bun Bo Hue didn't taste anything like it. It was more like Bun Rieu. Unfortunately, the Chanh Da was also very bland. Everything else was fine, but there are definitely better Vietnamese restaurants in Düsseldorf.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekday. There were hardly any other customers at that time, so I benefited from particularly fast service. We have eaten here twice. Both times the food was good. Only was the last time we found some dirt in the Banh Mi because the coriander’s root was still on and have some dirt stuck on it. I bit into the dirt unfortunately and felt a little gross… However, every one makes mistake sometimes and we don’t want to make a fuss out of it! The staff also offered us a free drink or dessert to compensate and apologize to us so it is all good.

We were here with a group, and everyone was very happy with the food. The lemonade could have been more intense. The reason for the 4 stars is that we felt like they were trying to get rid of us quickly after the meal, which was a shame.

I ordered the peanut curry, summer rolls, and sticky rice to take home. The whole thing cost around €40 (!), and the portion sizes are absolutely outrageous! Small, smaller, To1980!! A normal man would never have been able to fill it up. A whopping four tablespoons of brown rice, two lettuce leaves, and a ridiculously small amount of vegetables in the peanut sauce. I ordered it with "crispy" tofu, which is only fried on the top and bottom, otherwise mushy, when you can make so many great things with tofu, I can't believe it. Everything tastes delicious, but the summer rolls are smaller than in a restaurant, and the sticky rice comes with a piece of orange instead of a piece of mango??? You don't have to understand. They cut corners on the food as much as possible, but the price is decent. Never again, and I feel really dumbed down. That's how you lose customers. 👎

Unfortunately, disappointing. The restaurant disappointed us on several levels. Only when our food was served were we informed that the restaurant would close at 10 p.m., and the kitchen and bar would be closed in 10 minutes, meaning we'd have to order now if we needed anything else. Having to decide while eating whether you might get thirsty later is simply unprofessional. Also during our meal, we were asked to pay because "the bill is being collected now." After we pointed out that this was rude and disruptive during a meal, the waiter (who, incidentally, was very helpful and friendly) promised to come back after the meal. After that, however, everything was handled rather hastily. The lights outside had already been turned off, even though guests were still seated, and drinks couldn't be finished in peace. The food itself was also unconvincing: bland in taste, overcooked noodles, fried chicken that resembled frozen chicken nuggets, and the spring rolls served with a sweet chili sauce that looked like something you'd find in a supermarket. Unfortunately, it wasn't authentic Vietnamese. It was significantly overpriced for the quality of the food and the overall ambiance.

Miss Vietnamese food, so To1980 is one of restaurant near our hotel I wanna try. This restaurant is very crowded, mostly Western people here, feel happy because Vietnam food is also popular in here. I tried Phở, I don’t know the taste in Düsseldorf but with Vietnamese, this taste is not familiar with Vietnamese both in the South and the North. The taste is light, can’t smell the characteristic of Phở, taste follow a bit from the North flavor. But is it fine with me after a tired day, I need a hot soup. Phở is promptly served when order. The bowl of Pho is bigger than VN but I can afford this. I wanna try more food but no space after finish a bowl of Pho

We got a table after a few minutes of waiting. We had to wait a little longer for the food, but that's understandable given the busy restaurant. My point of criticism is definitely the size of the portion. Declaring the bao burgers with sweet potatoes as the main prize surprised me a bit after receiving the portion. A counted portion of fries with a small Bao Burger. The food tasted good. When I asked, I was told that this was the normal portion size. I would have liked at least the note on the menu to say “small portion of fries” or a fairer price/performance ratio. In my opinion that didn't fit. The price-performance ratio for the gyozas was also not good at all. In addition, the staff seemed cold and distant, especially when we were brought the wrong food. Because we didn't immediately know the name of our dish, the mistake seemed to be ours. The waitress turned around without a word and only brought the right dish after a few minutes - also without comment.
