If you sit at the "wrong" table you will be chased away, even though there are enough free tables...

Wonderful day in Passau then had drinks at the Ratskeller. The meals looked huge and great value

Extremely small portion for an expensive price. Staff unfriendly. I definitely can't recommend it.

Very tasty food and nice atmosphere.

My (now) wife and I had our champagne reception next door right after our civil wedding. The staff is extremely friendly and the drinks were delicious. I went here for dinner a few years ago and it tasted very good then too. Gladly again!

The service was very friendly, the atmosphere was very nice and cozy. There is also a selection for younger guests. The food was also very tasty, but unfortunately some of the sauces were super salty. Maybe it was just that day. Otherwise top store.

Nice beer garden right on the Danube. Lots of places, very friendly staff and fast service, typical dishes, large portions.

Good Bavarian cuisine with nice staff...

To our delight, we didn't choose a restaurant for tourists. The people in service were super nice, our place with a view was super nice and a waiter on the ball provided us with a creamy and delicious asparagus cream soup, the almost perfect councilman's plate with brilliant sauerkraut and a super well-seasoned Jägerschnitzel. The food was all really good, the beer was tasty, the location was perfect, the price was absolutely OK and we had a lovely evening there. Thanks!

The food in most Ratskellers is quite good. This is also the case here in the Ratskeller in Passau. The Jägerschnitzel is a very generous portion. The roast pork from the next table was also gigantic. What you have to point out is the following... the Ratskeller team is a young team. Accordingly, you will be served quickly. In addition, everyone was very polite and friendly. The food was ready quickly and served hot in the beer garden despite a cool day. Unfortunately, the Ratskeller is not barrier-free. By the way, vegans will also find something on the menu here 😉

Food was OK, but there are better restaurants. Drinks and atmosphere are very good though.

I was really surprised at how delicious a snack can taste. Plus a sausage salad and cool, freshly tapped beer. Perfect.

Wonderful atmosphere and Bavarian food. Had the asparagus with hollandaise sauce and ham since it was in season. It was delicious! The service was polite and prompt. Would absolutely recommend you eat here!

We can only recommend!!! Food, service, ambience, everything was great! Roast pork as it should be - juicy, very tender. The pepper schnitzel was a poem! The sauce as it should be - peppery, slightly spicy! The vegetables are al dente, just the way I like them And all dishes also for small appetites. Really quaint atmosphere! We would be happy to come back at any time...

Fast friendly service. Eating happens so quickly... that it has to be a system of gastronomic cuisine. Don't think there's a real chef working here... the portions are normal, the quality is okay and the price is reasonable given the location. Despite booking a table by telephone q Unfortunately no table had been prepared for us. It was then quickly put together. OK..

Nice place. Good food and drinks at good prices. Staff friendly. Good place to spend an hour or so in the sun. Not a tourist trap

That was a very nice evening on the outdoor terrace of the Ratskeller in Passau before our river cruise. In April there was still sunshine in the evening, the delicious food and the very friendly and attentive service team.

Excellent restaurant and beer. Staff was really good too.

We only had a quick coffee/beer in the restaurant to make time for the next appointment. So can't say anything about the food. Everything else was as it should be :)

Very very tasty food! Typically Bavarian delicious. Everything from white sausage to roast with dumplings or spaetzle to Viennese schnitzel is available. Best card in Passau. Beautiful ambience and very, very nice and nice service. We were completely satisfied. Very, very great! I had asparagus with veal schnitzel and hollandaise from the seasonal menu. Great

At the Town Hall banquet - a little weak

As a group (40 people) we had our tables outside. Great view of the Danube and Veste Oberhaus. Friendly, fast staff. The choice of food is varied, the preparation was quick and everyone enjoyed it. Highly Recommended. We'd love to come back.

Modernly furnished restaurant in the town hall building. Top service, no long waiting times for drinks or dishes. Very good Löwenbauerei Helles from the barrel and Zwickl. The asparagus with ham and the braised ox cheeks on carrot and celery puree with port wine sauce and spaetzle are extremely tasty.

Good home cooking. Would describe it as a tourist spot. But in my opinion very good food and tasty.

It is recommended to reserve the table in advance. The atmosphere is very nice, the staff is friendly and quick. The food comes quickly, is very good and plentiful.

Good Bavarian food with a beautiful view of the Oberhaus and the Danube

"Only" 4 stars, unfortunately it is not possible to give 4.5 stars. Overall I was satisfied, but it's not quite enough for 5 stars. Because of a few little things that aren't quite perfect, I would still give it 5 stars. Overall, the service was very good, nice waitresses and waiting times for food and drinks would actually be worth 5 stars. Only one thing bothered me and I almost didn't go because of that. It was an exceptionally warm, almost hot April day. The fact that a large part of it is in the blazing sun is no reproach, it's just the way it is, and was "rewarded" with a great view. I was lucky enough to get a shady spot. The only thing I don't understand is that there were enough parasols available, but only a small number were put up. Maybe it's a bit harsh to deduct a star because of this, but I'm a heat-sensitive person and warm beer tastes terrible 😏 Speaking of beer, very tasty, I recommend Zwickl. 😋 The impossible 4.5 stars are again appropriate for the food.

We really liked it in the Ratskeller. The food we ordered was plentiful and not too expensive. Delicious. The service was very friendly and relaxed. What I really appreciated about the waitresses in Bavarian taverns. You don't feel any stress and you always have time for small talk.

Very nice Atmosphere inside and outside on the Rathausplatz, especially in warm sunny weather! The service was quick and friendly and showed patience when we couldn’t decide for a while. We were easily able to exchange the dumplings for fries. The menu is both in english and german in a very good and understandable translation so also tourists can easily find something they like. The menu has a wide variety of local / traditional food. The meals were good, just the potato dumplings we ordered were most likely bread dumplings (?) - but the turkey breast was juicy, the pork roast had a nice crackling, and the portion sizes were big and filling. The alcohol free version tastes not quite as good as the flavour of the „real“ beer.

The service is really good. The waitresses are extremely friendly, attentive and quick. Regardless of whether it was food or drinks – everything was quick and the various dishes were at the table at the same time. So if you're looking for a good restaurant with Bavarian cuisine, you've definitely come to the right place.

After 20 minutes we left the restaurant thirsty because of 4! No one on staff was able to take a drink order. Only 4 guests were present including us.

Decent food and nice atmosphere.

Ein tolles brauhaus im Herzens Passau, süffiges leckeres Bier, da trinkt man gerne eins mehr ;) Geschmacklich ist das essen klasse, deftige Portionen und die Größe ist auch genau richtig . Der Service ist auf Zack und Mega zuvorkommend, so wie es sein soll. Auch das Ambiente passt absolut, kleiner „Haken“ die Beleuchtung ist für ein brauhaus mir etwas zu hell. Ich kann das brauhaus nur weiterempfehlen und freue mich demnächst auf den nächsten Besuch.

Naja,...Service top, Essen wurde allerdings eher kalt serviert. Auf Nachfrage nachgebessert und dann lauwarm. Sollte so eigentlich nicht sein. Speisen selbst waren gut.

Der Service war gut, jedoch war der bevorstehende Feierabend deutlich zu spüren. Es war Sonntag 20:00 Uhr. Zum Essen: Die Leberknödelsuppe war mittelmäßig. Der Leberknödel war viel zu fest und nicht richtig warm. Beim Schwabenteller war das Schweinefilet sehr gut zubereitet, jedoch waren die Käsespätzle nicht richtig warm, sehr breiig und die Röstzwiebel verweicht. Das Pfefferschnitzel war gut, die Soße versalzen.

This was a busy place the evening we stopped by without reservations on our only evening in Passau. We got the last table outside and after getting the biers the rain started. Luckily they helped us squeeze the table under the big umbrellas and we were able to enjoy our cozy meal watching the rain. The menu has many German favorites and everything tasted great. Service was busy but timely and efficient. Having just gotten off a cruise ship my appetite was for sausage and it was satisfied!
