Das Oberhaus in Passau

Sehr schönes Ambiente und ansehnliche Portionen. Aber kein einziges biologisches Getränk und auch keine entsprechenden Zutaten. Vegan gab es nur mehr ein etwas zu fetthaltiges Gericht mit Pilzen. Vegane Milch als Option zum Kaffee kostet einen Euro extra. Kuhmilch selbstredend gratis.

Ein toller Platz mit sehr schönem Blick über die Stadt Passau. Das Lokal sieht einladend aus. Wir bekamen sofort einen Tisch, ohne Reservierung. Der bestellte Kuchen kam schnell und hat uns geschmeckt. Leider wurde unser Kaffee aufgrund einer technischen Störung "vergessen" und kam erst auf Nachfrage. Der Kaiserschmarrn für einen saftigen Preis von 12,90 € ist meines Erachtens eine Frechheit. Die Stücke kann man an zwei Händen abzählen, und selbstgemacht ist er sicher nicht. Das geht definitiv besser!

Being half German and having a German Oma that used to live up the road, we visited to relive old memories. The views over Passau are breathtaking and there is a lovely walk up from the bottom. The only thing that annoyed me slightly was in the restaurant when it came to paying she told me the amount and said that was the price without a tip. We consider ourselves decent tippers anyway but having it so blatantly pushed in our face like that just annoyed me, a tip is always up to the customer.

River boat stopped in Passau and we visited this lovely restaurant, the views were outstanding, looking out at where the Danube and inns rivers come together. Service was very good, and a great choice on the menu, couldn't fault our visit.

We wanted to try here for the view which didn't disappoint. There's no doubt, the food isn't cheap. The desserts were delicious even if over priced. I got a hot glass of water to keep my coffee warm at no extra cost. And yes, it's €1.50 for a glass of cold water.

hier gibt's weder Löwenbräu Passau noch Hacklberg vom Fass : so bleibt der Dom in der Mitte der Stadt. zum Glück gibt's Augustiner, auch wenn mir persönlich das Passauer Löwenbräu (Ur)Hell auch sehr schmeckt. man pilgert der Aussicht wegen hier hoch : die Tische nah an der Brüstung sind das Heileit. Es geht unaufgeregt zu, wer ißt, dem wird es zu Tische gebracht. Gehört zum Passaubesuch dazu.

Das Essen ist absolut lecker und der Ausblick atemberaubend. Das Bier ist ein Genuss. Klare Empfehlung - egal ob für Passauer oder Touristen.

Wir sind nach der Besichtigung der Veste in den Biergarten im Oberhaus gegangen und haben uns einen schönen schattigen Platz gesucht. Man kann online am Tisch bestellen und es wird dann das Essen an den Tisch gebracht. Wir hatten alkoholfreies Augustiner sowie fränkische Bratwürste und eine Currywurst. Uns hat es richtig gut gefallen da Top Aussicht und das Essen hat auch geschmeckt. Zudem freundlicher Service.

Extremely attentive, unobtrusive service. The ambience in the Oberhaus is very appealing, and there is also the great view of Passsau, which is topped off with outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The food on offer leaves nothing to be desired; there are also options for vegetarians and vegans. Our dog was even remembered and provided with a bowl of fresh water.

After waiting 26 minutes for service. A member of the staff made a sign mentioning from that time was self-service.

The worst service around. The woman at the bar is incredibly rude. Very disappointing considering there were 12 of us wanting food and drinks. Maybe the owner is getting a bit complacent.

Beautiful view. Reasonable prices for the location. The inflexibility here continues to amaze me. (N.B. They have ice cream and they have decaf coffee, but not decaf iced coffee).

A very nice view over Passau from the beer garden. Since it's self-service, we can't say much about the staff. The lady behind the counter was nice. You can also order from the table using your mobile phone. However, almost €35 for 1 x currywurst with fries, 1 x currywurst with pretzel and 2 drinks is completely excessive for self-service. Especially since the currywurst, as expected, was once again a perfectly normal bockwurst. And I would describe the size as small.

We didn't eat anything but we each had a beer. Ordered via the table app and it came damn quickly, only there was actually only foam. Waiting forever until we could see/taste the liquid gold and only half full at the end. Maybe take a little more time here and the guest can then not only enjoy the view but also a cool blonde.

We sat outside in great weather with a direct view of Passau. Unbelievably pretty. We had a place where you can order directly from the bar. Alternatively, you can use your cell phone, which didn't work for us, but the food was then served. There is also an area with full service. The four of us ate and drank at lunchtime. Everything tasted very good. We were more than surprised. All the staff were very friendly, quick and helpful. Nobody seemed annoyed. First class! If we are in Passau again, we will definitely stop there. A truly indescribably beautiful moment right on the edge with a view of Passau and extremely good dishes and drinks. It was just great!!!

We were recently invited to this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, every bite was a delight. We were particularly impressed by the generous portions - the plates were full and plentiful, so no one went hungry. The taste of the food was excellent and demonstrated high quality and fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We can only warmly recommend this restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The food is delicious, you can't say anything about it, but it's just too expensive for not filling you up (there were 4 of us there and we all felt the same way). The ambience and the view over Passau is really very good and definitely worth a visit.

Top place in Passau. Free choice of seating in the very large beer garden... the early bird sits best 😜. Enjoy delicious food and drinks above the roofs of Passau with a view of the Danube, Inn and Cathedral. Very nice staff. Just let your mind wander. Great...we'll be back

We were there to visit and treated ourselves to a wheat beer and a shandy for €9.20. The view over Passau was wonderful. You can order and pay directly via your smartphone. Simply scan the QR CODE at the table and the virtual order card opens. The concept is great. We can't write anything about the food because we didn't order any.

Very rude staff! Before we arrived we had a phone call with the staff who told us that a reservation wasn't necessary as it wasn't too busy. When we arrived we were greeted by a very rude employee. He said we should find a place ourselves. 20 minute drive for free! Definitely won't come here again. Very arrogant staff!!!!!

We were in the beer garden, not indoors. The view is magnificent. Main meals are very tasty. The side salad has potential - it could use more dressing.

There were 15 people there at the weekend, reservations worked, it was really busy, everything was busy, there was a wedding in the next room and yet we were served quickly and in a friendly manner. Food was ok, portions could be a little larger, the price could be a little lower, unfortunately the water is already charged extra here! We felt very comfortable!

Always a popular location. The view is simply unique, even people from Passau like to come here. There are always things going wrong with the service, but they are very attentive and hospitable.

The waiters are simply not interested in serving customers quickly and efficiently. They are much more interested in standing and talking to each other about their affairs.

We were there on April 30, 2024, 28°, with 3 people and 3 dogs and wanted to order something to drink at lunchtime and sat down in the lounge group because the lower part was fully occupied. The seat we chose was also better for the dogs because it was the only place where there was shade. All other seats did not have sun protection. My husband then went into the restaurant and wanted to order. There the young man said that he wouldn't serve us at the lounge group because otherwise other people would want to sit there too and they wouldn't be able to serve everyone! He asked my husband to sit downstairs and they would serve us. It was full, where were we supposed to sit with 3 dogs and then in the full sun? After my husband told me, I went to the restaurant with the 3 dogs and asked again, also asking if I could sit there because there was shade and enough space for the dogs. No chance!!! We then left disappointed! Therefore I cannot recommend it there and it is not hospitable there!

I was very disappointed! We were there with my family today (April 30, 2024), around 6:40 p.m., with great joy. At the entrance to the restaurant I was greeted by a very nice lady who politely asked what we wanted. We told her we wanted to have dinner on the terrace! She told us to go outside and that there were bigger tables as I was with my wife and three daughters. We went out and a terribly phlegmatic waitress with glasses told us to find a table at the front! Of course we understood and sat down at table 31, a table for five people. After we took our seats she came to us and told us in a terrible manner that we could have sat at another table because she had already cleaned it. But in a very condescending and unpleasant accent! And she just threw the menu in the middle of the table! My wife and I felt so uncomfortable that we immediately left the restaurant annoyed without ordering! Unfortunately we didn't even get to try the food, but we've never had service like this!

Mega view from the terrace of the beautiful old town of Passau. The food tasted very good but the price was high. Great ambience, good quick service and nice restaurant. There is also a playground outside for the children. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the rolled roast was really hard as a rock and didn't taste good either. The roast pork was far too thick and largely pink. The view and the nice waitress were positive. Unfortunately no recommendation.

The upper house lies above the city of Passau. From there you have a beautiful view of the 3 rivers and the city. You can choose whether you want to treat yourself to the self-service beer garden or whether you would prefer to go to the restaurant with a terrace. In both cases the panorama is guaranteed. We decided on the restaurant in picture perfect weather on April 12th, 2024. Because my mother requires gluten-free food, I called before making my reservation. It was explained to me that the sauces are made with cornmeal and that the glutein is not a problem. A week later, the surprise came in the restaurant: the ingredients in the menu were broken down and gluten was differentiated between rye and wheat and even spelled. Unfortunately, almost every dish contained a reference to gluten. That would have meant that only 1 or 2 dishes could have been ordered for the mother. We then asked the friendly and courteous waitress what the glutein situation was like, referring to the telephone conversation we had had. It was explained to us that, with the exception of dishes with breading, all dishes can be served gluten-free. The only thing that needs to be changed is the sauce. We decided on the beer roast. The friendly waitress said she would check with the chef for a moment. Less than 5 minutes later I received confirmation that my mother was welcome to order the beer roast. The chef also created a wine sauce. I then tried the sauce and found it almost better than the original sauce. For dessert, me and my wife had Kaiserschmarrn. The food was tasty, nicely prepared and sufficient. If 16 euros for a beer roast is too much for you, you should know that the chef here still earns his name and puts his heart and soul into his craft. Not least because of the very good and patient advice from the service staff, the visit was a successful end to a sightseeing tour. A little suggestion from me: you can get beer from Augustiner. I would also like to see a local beer on the menu. In summary: I would like to visit the Oberhaus again on my next visit to Passau. A clear recommendation.

The landscape is very beautiful. When it comes to Wiener Schnitzel, I wonder how old the beef was when it was made into schnitzel. It was hard and full of tendons!!!! We went to this restaurant several times a few months ago and the food was always very good, but now we don't go there anymore. If I want to enjoy the view, I pack a picnic basket and sit on the grass...you won't see me and my family in this restaurant anymore.

We ate in this restaurant for the first time yesterday. We made a reservation and sat in the restaurant. It took a while because all the service staff were working outside until someone came to us, but then everyone was very friendly and accommodating and served us very well and then asked every now and then if everything was tasty anyway.. . Food was very good. View was a dream, very nice view of Passau and my husband and daughter then ordered a schnapps, it was also very good to drink and the price was appropriate, although a bit expensive but you also pay for the view, so we will come back when we are in Passau.. .

I visited Das Oberhaus, multiple times now, it's one of my favourite restaurants in Germany. I love everything about the place, the food, the service, also the view of the city is simply remarkable at the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. ❤️

The Feste Oberhaus restaurant was once a very good address in terms of food and service, but it was always a bit more expensive than elsewhere, which was okay. But what the guest is served today is simply an outrage. A currywurst with potato pieces in a very manageable amount and a side salad for a whopping 20 euros is simply a disgrace. To do this, you have to queue at the counter to order and bring the drinks to the table yourself. In any case, I and my companions will no longer be guests in this restaurant. It's a shame but that's it!

Came to this restaurant through the Augustiner. Ambiance, great view. Very well attended. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm the good reviews about the service today. There was more of a feeling that you should be grateful to be a guest here. Plate of surbraten and roast pork carelessly prepared, but the taste was okay. Fried chicken portion and plate good.

The food was very disappointing compared to before or a year ago. Not recommended except for the view.

Ich ware mit Freunden am Ostersonntag dort, eigentlich wollten wir auch Abendessen aber das ist uns schnell vergangen.Auf der Terasse ist Selbstbedienung sprich mann muss sich die Getränke selber holen und zum Tisch bringen. Das Essen ist das einzige was dann Serviert wird zu gigantischen Preisen eines 5 Sterne Hauses. Stop 5 Sterne Haus kann hier nicht die Rede sein kaum sitzen wir am Tisch kommen schon Fremde seitlich am Tisch die den Ausblick sehen wollen auf Passau und Photos machen die nicht mal Gast im Retaurant sind. Ich finde das für eine Frechheit da man hier nicht ungestört Dinnieren kann. Das schlimmste waren die Toiletten überall dreck und viel Wasser am Boden. Das Qutfit des Personals errinnert einen eher an einer Rock Bar wie in einer Gaststätte.
