The food was very good and delicious. Unfortunately, the duck was a bit too dry and lacked the delicious sauce. The decor was cozy and authentic, as was the waitstaff's attire. The ambiance gave a high-quality impression. The service was very friendly and checked in several times, but they did forget one or two orders. The price was high for what we got. However, we were able to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing evening.

Everyone there was so friendly, and all the main courses were delicious. The starters were just okay, but the restaurant had a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

We've been there three times now. It's always been great. We'll gladly come again.

Overall, the food was good, except for mine. The duck was so dry that I would have needed five times the amount of the delicious gravy that was served. Requested a table online yesterday. Request still "pending" 16 hours later. They don't answer the phone even when calling during opening times when I then have to chase them. Finally got through on the 6th attempt only to be told "we are full". They have no response then when asked why they set availability in Quandoo to accept my request, nor why they had not "declined" it promptly. I now only have 4 hours to find an alternative. Don't rush to try and book this restaurant as they don't appear to care...

We were at Rama V today, and it was once again a flavor explosion. We come here often, or even drive to Frankfurt specifically to eat here. Everything is perfect, from the service to the food. The tempura shrimp appetizer is worth every cent; it's fantastic. The ambiance is very pleasant, perfect for a lovely evening in Frankfurt. 10/10

Rama 5 is a new favorite of mine. The standard of the food is always the same and of top quality, and all the courses I have tried so far have been excellent. The portions are quite large relative to most other restaurants and the presentation is immaculate. The employees are so far very polite and welcoming and treat you like family the second you enter. The service is quick. The menu is also vegetarian friendly with quite a few options. The restaurant itself is a little more relaxed and friendly, not too loud, not too quiet. Rama V is just as good, as just dinner with friends or going out. Everything is consistent, the food, the service, and that's why I return again and again. Rama 5 is the kind of restaurant you can always count on for a great meal.

If there were a title for this restaurant, it would be "No Trip to Thailand"! We absolutely cannot understand why Rama V is ranked number 2 in "Frankfurt Goes Out." Location: Easily accessible, parking is available in the surrounding parking garages. A stone's throw from the Zeil shopping street. The interior is completely brown, making it feel quite dark and oppressive. Classic Thai decorative elements, pictures, a golden Buddha, etc. There are many tables in the dining room itself, which, when it was full, like last night, led to an unpleasant background noise. I find it unpleasant when you can't have a normal conversation. Food: For starters, we had vegetarian spring rolls, vegetables in tempura batter, and quail eggs coated with minced chicken (fried with panko). For €9, we got four bland spring rolls containing only glass noodles. The vegetables were a tiny portion and had no flavor. They consisted mainly of onions, green beans, and mushrooms. The sauce served with it tasted exclusively salty. The eggs, paired with a classic tamarind sauce, were quite tasty. The Thai drink selection was also rather limited. Only Singha beer or iced tea with lemon or milk. For our main course, we had duck Rama V, fried tofu with bean sprouts, mushrooms, and vegetables, as well as market-fresh fish in a red curry. Bowls of rice were distributed on the table as a side dish. All main courses cost between €19 and €26. The main courses didn't appeal to us either. The vegetarian dish was bland and lacked zest. The duck was a bit dry. There was little sauce and vegetables on the side. The fish curry was quite tasty, but we weren't told what kind of fish it was. I doubt it was market-fresh. Dessert was out of the question for us, especially since all the desserts cost around €15-€19. Classic Mango Sticky Rice for €19 Anyone who has come to appreciate and love Thai cuisine, whether through travel or through friends and family, will not get their money's worth here. Establishing Thai cuisine as a fine dining concept has failed here. For me, Thai cuisine is street food. You wouldn't get your food like this in Thailand. Take the time to travel to Oberursel Oberstedten and enjoy the dishes at Bangkok Street Food. You'll get your money's worth here. For me, it's the absolute number one.

For 25 years, Rama V was my absolute favorite for fine Thai food in Frankfurt. These days, however, the cuisine is merely average—no longer the sophisticated blend of spices and herbs that once characterized it. The price is quite high: a small beef salad - €18. The service and ambiance were very pleasant, but unfortunately a bit noisy. Overall, too expensive for the value.

The best Thai restaurant outside of Thailand. The food was super authentic and incredibly delicious. The wine list is extensive, with great wines for every occasion. We started with Mai Tai cocktails, certainly the best in Frankfurt. The service was very attentive, courteous, and the young Thai lady was very helpful. A definite recommendation for anyone looking for great Thai food in a beautiful setting. We'll be back...

Was yearning for Asian food so this Thai restaurant was near our hotel. Looks authentic and nicely decorated and was full of customers mainly Germans. Food was ok but service and atmosphere compensated for it.

A lovely ambiance, cozy and classically decorated, not a bistro-like experience. The food, however, is nothing special; it tastes good, but is comparable to average Thai restaurants in Frankfurt. Not entirely authentic for our taste, and the spices were too mild. The service was friendly, but not what you'd expect from a supposedly more upscale restaurant. The prices for the dishes are definitely not reasonable for the experience.

We came here with friends who were staying at the Avani hotel around the corner. They had discovered this restaurant during their stay and had dinner here two days in a row because it was so good (and they are foodies). They recommended it highly and didn't mind going there for the third day in a row :) And they were right. The food was absolutely delicious - fresh, tasty and all the right spices. The dessert with fresh mango was simply yum. What makes the experience even more special is the friendliness of the staff. We will definitely be back when we are in the vicinity again.

Authentic Thai taste with care for guests! The restaurant captivated with its authentic cuisine - dishes can be ordered both spicy and mild (Mae Pad is an ideal choice for those who do not like spicy). The chef personally controls the quality of each dish, and the staff creates a truly warm atmosphere. The interior is thought out to the smallest detail - it is pleasant to linger here longer. Advice: book a table in advance - the popularity of the place is fully justified! I am already planning my next visit to try more dishes from the menu.

Not good. The waitress managed to do 3 mistakes. 1. I ordered a dish with eggplants and bamboo, she brought a fried rice. 2. We ordered water, she brought a 25cl water at 4.50 euros. 3. Despite all her mistakes, she insisted to get a tips 5 or 10%. I already only give when I want (quite often) but with a so bad service, she managed to express loudly it was unbelievable. Stay away, furthermore products are of low quality (quantity is there).

The food was okay, but the service was not. The drinks were very expensive: 0.2 liters of Coke cost €4.50, an Aperol Spritz €13, etc. We weren't even thanked for our tips. Overall, it's very loud, and you get the feeling you're being rushed at your table. Relaxed dining is a different story.

Mientras cenábamos, vi 2 ratones corriendo en el restaurante, alrededor de las mesas cerca de la gran estatua de Buda. Me sorprendió e inmediatamente llamamos a la camarera que no parecía sorpresa en absoluto. Justificó diciendo que los ratones están llegando al restaurante desde la calle, ya que la zona realmente necesita atención de la administración local. Obviamente, pedimos la factura y nos fuimos. Great dining room, food below average at best, loveless and tasteless. Volume, air and service underground. We never felt comfortable or even pampered for a moment. Normal conversations were impossible because of the noise. Had nothing to do with going to a restaurant. Luckily it was served quickly. It was a test and unfortunately the last visit.

I've been a guest there for 13 years and the food is still outstanding! The prices are fair and the portions are large! Meanwhile, prices are excessive everywhere and portions have become smaller. It's best to order several things in the middle and share them. This way you can try out a lot more of the great menu! The wine list is also very good and also at reasonable prices! You can park your car at the restaurant in the parking garage and it is also very well served by the public! For me the best restaurant!

One of the worst Thai restaurants. The ambience is the only nice thing. All 3 dishes were completely tasteless and had to be seasoned. This was also communicated to the waitress afterwards, but again unfortunately without any concessions and all for a hefty price. A Thai snack bar around the corner is a lot better and cheaper.

Unfortunately, the food was pretty average, the duck wasn't really crispy and despite the label saying "spicy" there was hardly any spiciness noticeable. Maybe that's where the good reviews come from: it tastes nice, but not very Thai. Very overpriced. Service also mediocre.

Das Essen ist seit dem Verkauf von Dr Rackwitz die letzten Jahre kontinuierlich schlechter geworden. War früher RamaV der Inbegriff für Top Thai Food in Deutschland ist es leider jetzt nur noch deutsches Thai wie an jeder Ecke. Empfehle dem neuen Inhaber mal die Küchencrew für 2 Monate nach Hause zu senden, damit sie wieder authentisch Thai kochen lernen. Das wäre eine super sinnvolle Investition. Dr. Rachwitz und seine Frau, smarte Thailänderin, haben das jedes Jahr gemacht!!! Finde es schade. War früher wirklich einer meiner Top Lieblinge in D nicht nur Frankfurt.

“Disappointing across the board” I tried the Pad Thai at Rama 5 Restaurant and it was simply inedible. The noodles had nothing to do with authentic Thai cuisine - they tasted like simple spaghetti. The sauce was equally disappointing: bland, boring and completely lacking in the typical variety of flavors you expect from a Thai dish. I've been to Thailand many times and know the quality and taste you get there - this wasn't even close. It was a huge disappointment and completely overpriced. I don't expect something like that in a "Thai" restaurant. One thing is clear to me: I will never go here again. Poor quality, way too expensive, and not authentic at all. Absolutely not recommended!!!🤢🤮

I’m extremely disappointed in the service at Rama V tonight. My group came an hour before closing time—all the way from the airport—but we were still turned away. You'd think they'd be happy to take our business, but apparently not. The staff is rude, inflexible and lack of customer care really left a bad taste in our mouths. If you're planning to go to Rama V, make sure to get there super early, or you might find yourself shut out like we were. i would certainly not come back here and I wouldn't recommend this tourist trap.

Really appreciate being squeezed in on a busy night. The manager (owner?) took special care to ensure our son (sever allergies) had a safe meal to enjoy - gluten and nut free

Probably one of the best Thai restaurants in Frankfurt am Main.

Service was friendly, although visibly stressed and a bit chaotic (starters were brought to the table twice, no one ever asked for more drinks,...). Unfortunately, the two ordered drinks (2 cocktails) only came to the table about 10 minutes after the starters. Total waiting time for the two drinks was about 20 minutes. Everything wouldn't be a problem if you just let us know and at least got a glass of water. The drinks are also served quite carelessly, at prices of 15 and 16 euros per glass. This will no longer work in 2024. The starters were very tasty. Likewise the grapefruit salad. The order Nuea Pad Bai Grapraow, on the other hand, was not convincing. The meat is of good quality, but the taste is very bland. One of the worst things I've eaten in Frankfurt so far. Even the Phuket Thai snack bar across the street can do this better. Too bad. Conclusion for me: You can try the food again - I would definitely only order the well-known soft drinks from the bottles.

After a very long time we were once again at Rama V, one of the leading Thais in Frankfurt for what felt like ages. The food is still good, but what was once “special” is gone; many people are now at that level. The seating is still tight and dense, but the service always has the hustle and bustle under control. The food prices are high, but still okay, but the drink prices are actually almost outrageous.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews but I had to. We got one of the duck dishes, the meat arrived extremely dry, It's embarrassing to serve such a dish to a customer, truly not eatable, they weren’t at all prepared in the sitting arrangement and had to move us after we had already sat and ordered bc they didn’t plan the sitting correctly. But the worst was when I saw a literal mouse running around the restaurant, it ran next to my feet and I was shocked, I didn’t believe my eyes, I was trying to be nice and called the lady and told her that there is a mouse running around, I’m not sure If she didn’t understand or whatever but she just said nothing, I would expect of you to say something to a visibly concerned costumer who just seen a mouse at a place they’re supposed to eat at in a few moments. A true disgrace do not recommend.

The price is a bit more expensive, which is okay considering the quality. The service was very friendly. Drawback: There was no more tofu, which isn't ideal given the variety of dishes that are served with it.

We were immediately impressed by the stylish ambience - a little piece of Thailand in the middle of Frankfurt, perfect for relaxing and enjoying. The food was simply fantastic! Each dish was beautifully presented and full of authentic flavors. The menu offers a great variety, so there is really something for every taste, including vegetarians. We were particularly impressed by the fresh preparation, which made every dish seem like a little culinary adventure. Big compliments to the team too! The service was friendly and attentive, so we felt we were in good hands. You don't often find such warm hospitality and it rounded off our evening perfectly. Unfortunately we didn't manage to try dessert - but we'll definitely do that next time! We can highly recommend Rama V and will definitely come back. Unfortunately, it is now extremely overpriced and the quality has deteriorated. We have been to Rama V several times in recent years. The food was always very tasty, the prices were ambitious, but still reasonable due to the convenient location in Frankfurt. However, since our last visit a few months ago, prices have increased significantly again. While you can still find the menu with the old prices online, in the restaurant you now pay €17 instead of €13.50 for a tiny beef salad (not fillet) as a starter. The portion was so tiny that my companion didn't want to try it because there was hardly anything left. The main course we ordered was also increased from 17 to 20, but the crowning achievement was two 0.75l bottles of Taunusquelle water, which cost 17 euros!! were taken into account. Since the drinks can only be found on a separate menu, we unfortunately didn't notice this before ordering. The quality of the food was ok, but not outstanding and paying €54 for a starter, a main course and 2 bottles of regional water is extremely overpriced. It's a shame Rama V, but we certainly won't be back that quickly!

Great atmosphere in the restaurant. Beautifully decorated and inviting. Unfortunately, the food wasn't the highlight considering the prices. The coconut shrimp starter had no trace of coconut at all and the Pad Thai for the main course was one of the most boring I've ever tasted. The service was also just ok and not special. I wouldn't come here again for Thai food.
