We had hot pot, sour fish curry with a big fish, and lemon tea. We ate until we were stuffed! The Thai people there were very friendly. The restaurant atmosphere was great. The oysters were amazing! You probably need to book those in advance.

The atmosphere is just like in Thailand. The food is delicious, especially the dipping sauces for the hot pot and the sour curry with water spinach. The mango sticky rice is also delicious. I recommend ordering the seasoned oysters in advance.

At first glance, an unassuming door, but inside a very inviting atmosphere with authentic food! Fast, friendly, delicious, Awesome!

Very authentic food and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The mango sticky rice tastes just like in Thailand. I'd gladly come again.

Unfortunately, the portion was quite small, containing only four pieces of meat. The chicken also had a very strange taste. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't good either; it simply wasn't tasty, and the breaded chicken was very, very soggy.

Needed a solo dinner while the Mrs. was taking a day trip to Paris. Went here based on a recommendation for a German man married to a Thai woman I’d met at a bar the night before, and I’m so glad I listened. I was quickly greeted with a warm smile to help with the cold outside, and brought to my table. It was a slow night, the only company being what I presumed to be a new couple with a delectable looking spread, and a solo friendly looking face in the corner. The environment was so inviting with colorful napkins and authentic decorations. I asked the waitress for a recommendation, I wasn’t feeling up for spicy that night but still wanted to be blanketed by warmth and comfort from the food. She suggested the chicken skewers and roasted duck. What I was not expecting was a personal bonfire to add as much char to the skewers as I pleased. The flavors were delicious. The Thai peanut sauce accompaniment would be a welcome addition to my own kitchen for easy access. I kept a little to dip my roasted duck in, not sure how traditional but I found the combo amazing. The crispy duck skin was a wonderful textural addition, and the bed of veggies were steeped with a sauce I cannot name but think about when I see broccoli now. As I was wrapping up the meal, washing everything down with a cold Pils, another dinner came in with balloons and a gift to join the solo eater. It appears it was their birthday and this was the place for such an occasion. Staff came out from the kitchen with drinks and well wishes, and though I could not understand the language I still knew they had been long friends and were happy to be the place of celebration. I wrapped up the duck to enjoy later that night, and left into the cold night with a full belly and a smile on my face. I cannot wait to return to Frankfurt just for this restaurant.

I've eaten here several times and have always been very satisfied (especially the Gaeng Kari Curry, which I personally find unbeatable 😋). The service is very friendly but not too pushy 👍. The atmosphere is also very pleasantly Thai with elegant interior design, and you can have a relaxed conversation 😌. The restroom is always very clean, and there are plenty of tables, so reservations aren't really necessary. I would say this restaurant is suitable for almost any occasion, from a slightly more upscale dinner with friends to a romantic dinner. They even celebrate birthdays with cake and songs 🎉🥳. Keep in mind that the prices are a bit higher, but they're well worth it considering the taste and the ambiance ☺️🥘

Food was terrific. Beers 🍻 were great. I loved my crispy duck, papaya salad was tasty and fresh, a bit spicy 🌶️ so watch out. I didn’t care for the shrimp skewers.

Excellent food at a very fair price. If in doubt, go for the pineapple rice – absolutely top-notch. The only downside was the slightly slow arrival, but it's always better a little too slow than too fast.

I loved the location and the food here back in the 90s. During the day, it's a bit dark inside (but the lighting creates a cozy atmosphere), while the summer garden is pleasantly cool under the old trees. The service is very attentive and quick. They'll bring your preferred level of spiciness upon request. The cocktails are also delicious. Reservations are highly recommended for the lunch and dinner rush.

I was here for lunch as part of an invitation from our office. At lunchtime, they offer a smaller menu, but still plenty to choose from. Everyone got something they wanted! Since I have several food allergies, I immediately asked if they could accommodate my request or if I was simply out of luck. My question was answered without any problems, and I received the dish I wanted with slightly modified ingredients. I got it without sauce and other vegetables. It tasted fantastic! This shows that while the sauces are prepared in advance, everything else is cooked fresh. A definite recommendation, and I will certainly eat here again. The interior is also very stylish, and the restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside. In the summer, there's also a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The spaces between the tables are a bit cramped, and a little more individual space would have been more comfortable at our table. But that's just a minor point. It's great that you can reserve a table online!

We've been happily going to Ban Thai for years. They have a very wide selection of dishes. The food is incredibly delicious and subtly seasoned. We also enjoy having a cocktail for dessert. The prices are fair and the staff is extremely friendly.

Amazing place, service was perfect they explain everything patiently and food is unbelievable delicious just be careful about spices some foods were so hot. I suggest to try shrimps, those are big and vein has removed. I can’t suggest desert because it wasn’t my flavour rest were perfekt.

I had a lovely dining experience at Ban Thai, where every dish felt authentic and full of flavor 🫶🥰🎉 The waitresses are super friendly 👏 The Tom Kha Gung (340) had a rich, aromatic coconut base with fresh prawns and lemongrass. It was flavorful, though a bit saltier than my personal taste. . 🍲 The Pad Thai with chicken and prawn (183) was spot on: well-seasoned, nicely textured, and balanced between sweet, sour, and savory. 🫶 I also enjoyed the Yam Wunsen (201), a refreshing glass noodle salad with a light spicy kick and bright citrus notes.👍 For drinks, the Thai iced tea with milk was smooth, not too sweer, and cooling. a great match for the spicier dishes. 🧋 The Ban Thai Special Cocktail added a fun, tropical twist to the meal with its fruity and well-blended flavor 🍹

Nice Thai food restaurant, worth of trying!

One of the few (authentic) Thai restaurants in Frankfurt. Extremely delicious fried wontons and deep-fried sea bream with mint, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. A deliciously spicy and sour wild Thai curry (unfortunately, they forgot the fresh pepper for us—but that can happen—it's all human and no one is picky). Authentic Thai restaurant. Highly recommended.

The food is vey tasty. Quantity is sufficient for one person. Good vegetarian options. Easy to book table online, would recommend booking online. The place is very popular and hence can be full.

My family and I visited the restaurant that used to be our favorite. Unfortunately, they're cutting corners these days, even where it's absolutely impossible. The homemade iced tea with lemon didn't taste the same as before. You could see that the lemon slice was only a few millimeters thick. Last time I visited, there was no lemon in my glass at all and I had to ask for it. There were also cobwebs hanging from the ceiling almost onto the plate – it really wouldn't have been much of a hassle to simply remove them. The climax came when I was in the women's restroom: There was a cockroach about three centimeters long running around. When I told the staff, all I got was a simple, "Oh, that big?" response – I found that completely inappropriate. For me, this is an absolute no-go, and we won't be visiting this restaurant in Frankfurt again.

10/10 service, everything was very fast, the food was exquisite, and the waitresses were very friendly. One girl recommended a Thai dessert to me and I loved her recommendation. I highly recommend this place.

The service and the atmosphere were great. I ordered an red curry with crispy chicken (18.9€) and I got pieces of crispy chicken which is ok. I didn't like the fact that the chicken was very little (maybe half of chicken breast). I basically eat crispy wheat (chicken) and the rice with veggies. I was here for dinner but I had to do another dinner to fulfill my hunger. I have seen that other 3 guys were fine with their dishes so this is a person opinion. If you really eat a good quantity of food/proteins then this may not be the right place. If you eat not that much then is perfect. I spent around 25€ including a drink.

I've been to Thailand several times and can therefore say: The food at Ban Thai Restaurant tastes truly authentic – almost like being on vacation! The dishes are fresh, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. I also really like the ambiance; you immediately feel at home. The service was friendly and attentive, so everything was just right. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the authentic Thai feeling in Frankfurt. The price/performance ratio is also excellent.

The restaurant itself feels like a short vacation back home: the decor, the pictures on the walls, the tables and chairs, everything gives you the feeling of being right in Thailand. The food? A dream! 🍲🌶️ Fresh, aromatic, and full of flavor. A run-of-the-mill rating for me, because tastes vary, but anyone who loves authentic Thai food will definitely get their money's worth here. One minor criticism: the toilet unfortunately didn't lock, and the paper towel dispenser didn't work. But these are minor issues that don't spoil the overall impression. Summary: An authentic experience with delicious food, a great atmosphere, and fantastic service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a true Thai experience in the heart of Frankfurt ❤️

I celebrated my birthday here and had the pleasure of eating here for the first time, and we were absolutely thrilled. The place looks rather unassuming from the outside, but the ambiance inside is absolutely captivating. All 10 guests were served very quickly, and the food was served at relatively short notice, which was a challenge that was mastered brilliantly. The entire service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was simply outstanding. It really felt like we were on a short trip to Thailand. I would like to thank the entire team again for the wonderful day. A shout-out to the chef too, because the food was simply delicious. ❤️ 🙏🏽

I went there. At the entrance menu all main courses are shown to be available in a small and a larger portion. When one sits down at the table inside and gets the menu plan handed out there is only the large portion available. When one asks the waiter about he smaller portions they tell you that these are only available for „Mittagsmenü“ (lunch). Nowhere at the entrance can this be seen. In the worst case the customer has already ordered drinks and only then finds out that the information outside are misleading.

A truly fantastic experience at Ban Thai on Leipziger Straße! The food was incredibly delicious – we especially loved the curries. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, making you feel right at home. What was particularly nice was that the manager had a very warm conversation with us and, upon request, even gave us glasses with the Singha logo – a wonderful gesture that we were truly pleased with. We'll definitely be back! 🥰

I was there yesterday. My duck with red curry sauce was terrible. It had been fried black at least the day before. Even though I didn't eat it and complained, no one cared. Too bad... you can get better at any Thai takeaway.

The atmosphere and service is great, food is immaculate. We thought we weren‘t hungry but cleared the hefty portions. The crispy duck and shrimp soup were both very nice experiences. Definitely recommend

We had a lovely evening. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, and we felt welcome. The food and drinks were equally impressive, both the appetizer platter and the Thai BBQ, which we had never had before in a Thai restaurant. From the explanations of a waitress, we learned that this BBQ is usually ordered by Thais. A portion costs €37 and, along with an appetizer, is enough for two people. The iced tea was very tasty, as were the cocktails to round off the evening.

We’ve been to Ban Thai several times already and it never disappoints. This restaurant offers amazing and authentic Thai cuisine with a consistent great quality. We can recommend the spring rolls and wantan as starters and the noodle dishes with chicken and duck are always part of our order. The staff is wonderful and super helpful- we even got some extra dips to try different levels of spiciness! If you’re missing dishes such as Pad Thai or Mango Sticky Rice from your vacation in Thailand, Ban Thai is definitely the place you want to check out!

I had a trip to Frankfurt and I was craved Thai noodles so I came to Ban Thai, I ordered Yen Ta Fo it was so delicious and felt like home.

The food was good enough but the bathroom was filthy. I am afraid to look at the kitchen because if you don’t take pride in showing cleanliness in the places I can see I am concerned about the cleanliness of the places I can’t see. I love Thai food but I was very disappointed about this. DO better!

I celebrated my birthday yesterday in their garten and it was amazing. The food was so good (really tasty and big portion) and the service was the best I've ever been to any restaurant, I would give them 100 stars. I booked it and told them that we will have a lots of people coming for the birthday party, they got me at the first impression since I walked in with smile and welcoming vibes and they decorated the garten where our seat are with birthday decorations, it's really touch my heart, it is a great team here 👍🏻 I was so happy yesterday and all of my friends said the same and they will come by later ! A sensationally authentic restaurant. It's quite inconspicuous because the entrance is narrow, but once you're inside, it's a spacious, open-plan restaurant with a lovely ambiance. The staff is also very attentive and friendly. The food was very authentic! It felt like you were on vacation. We will definitely be coming back again.

The Jim Jum is okay, the taste is good, the sauce is a bit sweet. The only downside is that they give very few vegetables. The papaya salad looks very good, but the taste is just so-so. It's a bit of a shame. Overall, it's okay.

The restaurant left a great impression on me from the very beginning. Although the doors officially open at 6:00 PM, we were kindly let in a little earlier — we arrived at 5:45 PM. This gesture already set a warm tone for the entire evening. The interior was a pleasant surprise: atmospheric, with authentic decor that immediately transports you to another culture. The service was top-notch: the staff was polite, friendly and attentive to detail. As for the food, everything was cooked perfectly. I especially remember the sticky rice with mango: the mango was incredibly tender, and the dish itself simply melted in your mouth. I would be happy to come back here again — the place is really worth it!

If you want authentic Thai food, you've come to the wrong place. I ordered Pad Kra Pao and got beef with beans, rice, and sauce. This simply has nothing to do with Pad Kra Pao. For comparison, here's a photo of what it should actually look like.
