Ban Thai Restaurant Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main

The service and the atmosphere were great. I ordered an red curry with crispy chicken (18.9€) and I got pieces of crispy chicken which is ok. I didn't like the fact that the chicken was very little (maybe half of chicken breast). I basically eat crispy wheat (chicken) and the rice with veggies. I was here for dinner but I had to do another dinner to fulfill my hunger. I have seen that other 3 guys were fine with their dishes so this is a person opinion. If you really eat a good quantity of food/proteins then this may not be the right place. If you eat not that much then is perfect. I spent around 25€ including a drink.

I've been to Thailand several times and can therefore say: The food at Ban Thai Restaurant tastes truly authentic – almost like being on vacation! The dishes are fresh, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. I also really like the ambiance; you immediately feel at home. The service was friendly and attentive, so everything was just right. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the authentic Thai feeling in Frankfurt. The price/performance ratio is also excellent.

A great restaurant with a cute courtyard, very traditional decor, and the food is top-notch. You can always take the menu's recommendations, and the mini table grill for appetizers is fun. The service is extremely good and attentive. A good address in Bockenheim.

A piece of Thailand in the heart of Frankfurt! 🌴🇹🇭 The service was top-notch, super friendly, attentive, and warm, just as you'd hope. The restaurant itself feels like a short vacation back home: the decor, the pictures on the walls, the tables and chairs, everything gives you the feeling of being right in Thailand. The food? A dream! 🍲🌶️ Fresh, aromatic, and full of flavor. A run-of-the-mill rating for me, because tastes vary, but anyone who loves authentic Thai food will definitely get their money's worth here. One minor criticism: the toilet unfortunately didn't lock, and the paper towel dispenser didn't work. But these are minor issues that don't spoil the overall impression. Summary: An authentic experience with delicious food, a great atmosphere, and fantastic service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a true Thai experience in the heart of Frankfurt ❤️

Nice restaurant – much more spacious inside than it looks from the street, with a shady, quiet courtyard. The food from the lunch menu was delicious, fresh, and arrived super quickly. The prices were absolutely reasonable.

I celebrated my birthday here and had the pleasure of eating here for the first time, and we were absolutely thrilled. The place looks rather unassuming from the outside, but the ambiance inside is absolutely captivating. All 10 guests were served very quickly, and the food was served at relatively short notice, which was a challenge that was mastered brilliantly. The entire service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was simply outstanding. It really felt like we were on a short trip to Thailand. I would like to thank the entire team again for the wonderful day. A shout-out to the chef too, because the food was simply delicious. ❤️ 🙏🏽

I went there. At the entrance menu all main courses are shown to be available in a small and a larger portion. When one sits down at the table inside and gets the menu plan handed out there is only the large portion available. When one asks the waiter about he smaller portions they tell you that these are only available for „Mittagsmenü“ (lunch). Nowhere at the entrance can this be seen. In the worst case the customer has already ordered drinks and only then finds out that the information outside are misleading.

A truly fantastic experience at Ban Thai on Leipziger Straße! The food was incredibly delicious – we especially loved the curries. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, making you feel right at home. What was particularly nice was that the manager had a very warm conversation with us and, upon request, even gave us glasses with the Singha logo – a wonderful gesture that we were truly pleased with. We'll definitely be back! 🥰

I was there yesterday. My duck with red curry sauce was terrible. It had been fried black at least the day before. Even though I didn't eat it and complained, no one cared. Too bad... you can get better at any Thai takeaway.

The atmosphere and service is great, food is immaculate. We thought we weren‘t hungry but cleared the hefty portions. The crispy duck and shrimp soup were both very nice experiences. Definitely recommend

We had a lovely evening. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, and we felt welcome. The food and drinks were equally impressive, both the appetizer platter and the Thai BBQ, which we had never had before in a Thai restaurant. From the explanations of a waitress, we learned that this BBQ is usually ordered by Thais. A portion costs €37 and, along with an appetizer, is enough for two people. The iced tea was very tasty, as were the cocktails to round off the evening.

We’ve been to Ban Thai several times already and it never disappoints. This restaurant offers amazing and authentic Thai cuisine with a consistent great quality. We can recommend the spring rolls and wantan as starters and the noodle dishes with chicken and duck are always part of our order. The staff is wonderful and super helpful- we even got some extra dips to try different levels of spiciness! If you’re missing dishes such as Pad Thai or Mango Sticky Rice from your vacation in Thailand, Ban Thai is definitely the place you want to check out!

I had a trip to Frankfurt and I was craved Thai noodles so I came to Ban Thai, I ordered Yen Ta Fo it was so delicious and felt like home.

The food was good enough but the bathroom was filthy. I am afraid to look at the kitchen because if you don’t take pride in showing cleanliness in the places I can see I am concerned about the cleanliness of the places I can’t see. I love Thai food but I was very disappointed about this. DO better!

Zum ersten mal dort gewesen und angenehm überrascht über die Größe und stilvolle Einrichtung. Vom Eingang her wirkt es eher unscheinbar aber der Innenraum und auch der Außenbereich sehr schön angelegt. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich und die Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam.

I celebrated my birthday yesterday in their garten and it was amazing. The food was so good (really tasty and big portion) and the service was the best I've ever been to any restaurant, I would give them 100 stars. I booked it and told them that we will have a lots of people coming for the birthday party, they got me at the first impression since I walked in with smile and welcoming vibes and they decorated the garten where our seat are with birthday decorations, it's really touch my heart, it is a great team here 👍🏻 I was so happy yesterday and all of my friends said the same and they will come by later ! The Jim Jum is okay, the taste is good, the sauce is a bit sweet. The only downside is that they give very few vegetables. The papaya salad looks very good, but the taste is just so-so. It's a bit of a shame. Overall, it's okay.

A sensationally authentic restaurant. It's quite inconspicuous because the entrance is narrow, but once you're inside, it's a spacious, open-plan restaurant with a lovely ambiance. The restaurant left a great impression on me from the very beginning. Although the doors officially open at 6:00 PM, we were kindly let in a little earlier — we arrived at 5:45 PM. This gesture already set a warm tone for the entire evening. The interior was a pleasant surprise: atmospheric, with authentic decor that immediately transports you to another culture. The service was top-notch: the staff was polite, friendly and attentive to detail. As for the food, everything was cooked perfectly. I especially remember the sticky rice with mango: the mango was incredibly tender, and the dish itself simply melted in your mouth. I would be happy to come back here again — the place is really worth it!

If you want authentic Thai food, you've come to the wrong place. I ordered Pad Kra Pao and got beef with beans, rice, and sauce. This simply has nothing to do with Pad Kra Pao. For comparison, here's a photo of what it should actually look like.

Nice, beautifully decorated restaurant with delicious food in a central location. The Pad Thai with shrimp is top and highly recommended. The only small drawback is that the interior is a bit cramped.

The food was ok, but the prices are too high. 16.90 or 18,90 euros for a normal curry dish. And that also applies to the prices of drinks. I think 8.90 euros for a 0.75l bottle of standard water is completely overpriced!

The food is very tasty. I can particularly recommend the Ped Ban Thai and the Pad Krapao with crispy duck! The sticky mango rice dessert was also very tasty. A Thai iced tea with lemon goes perfectly with this for a refreshing note or a Thai iced tea with milk for those who like it sweet. We have known Ban Thai for several years and have eaten there often. The food was never bad but this time it was. We ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses. We couldn't even recognize the beef salad as such. poorly over-fried strips of beef that were already done; no comparison to the beef salad we had eaten in the same restaurant a few months ago. the shrimp and chicken wontons were like bubble gum. The main course was ok, but just ok. Ban Thai used to be different, much, much better and I hope they change that back to the good old days soon, otherwise it would be a shame for the nice staff and the guests who also want to spend something on the restaurant. And the small side room that is the passage needs urgent renovation, the view of the walls and the door, the sockets, etc. leaves a lot of room for improvement. Dear owners, please take note urgently.

Went there for dinner 3 days ago on a recommendation. Nice ambience inside and courteous staff, when the online orders aren't taking over.... Food from the starter to the main course tastes simply great!!! We'll be back in the summer to try the courtyard and the fish!

I was still chewing my last bite when the waiter rushed to take my plate. What is that, the restaurant was half empty, to say that other clients were waiting for us to go! Lately also the portions are smaller but the prices increased. Before this place was definitely better.

The restaurant opened at 6 p.m. and we were there at 5:45 p.m. We were still allowed in :) Inside is totally authentic and sweetly decorated, service really attentive and friendly. The food was really great and very nicely prepared! The mango sticky rice was unusually good, the mango was totally tender! So I'm really happy to come back.

Food was burnt and inedible. The breaded chicken was small dried-out chicken nuggets that were mostly breading. Why do you even deliver something like that?! You can immediately smell that it's burned. After a call to the restaurant I was told the manager would call me back and offer a voucher or refund. Of course I wasn't called back.

On January 2nd, 2025 at 12:03 p.m., I was at your place with my friend and her son to have lunch. I reserved a table by phone at Ban Thai on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 12:10 p.m. When I arrived and was greeted by the staff, I experienced unexpected behavior from one of the employees. 1. My name was not found in your book. 2. The employee who wore a bit of make-up and had a bun hairdresser spoke to me and asked my name. When she couldn't find my name, she assumed that my reservation was in the name “Khon Suay คนสวย” (translated=beautiful woman) for 3 people. But I made my reservation with my name. 3. Suddenly this employee said loudly to her colleagues in Thai that I almost wouldn't get a table because I'm not that beautiful. When this employee knew that I could speak Thai, she didn't apologize and acted as if nothing had happened. In this situation, I would like to complain about this bullying from this employee. No one deserves to be treated so disrespectfully, either directly or behind their back. Just because a foreigner visits your store doesn't mean that person can't read or understand Thai.

Great lunch option around Bockenheim The place is quite authentic and cozy although it might look a bit weird at first glance. The staff is quite fast to get the order and serve food. The variety of dishes is really big. The portion sizes are generous.

I have known Ban Thai for many, many years. The food was always good. Not sensational, but good. Went there again yesterday on New Year's Eve after a while. The starter (beef salad) was subpar. The thin slices of meat were obviously pre-fried, set aside and thrown into the wok after ordering. Were as dry as chips. I've been eating Asian food regularly for 30 years and I'm passionate about cooking Asian food. I've never had anything like it on my plate before. The appetizer was complained about and taken away by the very friendly waitress. We informed the waiter that we would not replace the starter. The main course and subsequent cocktail were OK, but nothing more. But the fact that the starter was included in its entirety (although barely touched) on the bill is, to say the least, outrageous. We paid the bill because I have no desire to start a big palaver on a New Year's Eve. But: you definitely lost a customer. It's a shame actually.
