Sometimes it tastes good, sometimes it tastes mediocre. Unfortunately, there is no consistent quality with ever higher prices.

Was a fantastic experience. Nice place to dine out. Very charming service personnel. And the most important is: great food!

My absolute favorite was papaya salad and octopus salad. The seafood soup tasted very good but could have used a bit more broth; you would like a double portion. Also priced ok for the size. I found Pad Thai to be not seasoned enough. I found the addition of the yellow vegetarian curry to be too small. The price/performance ratio is not right here.

The food is very tasty. I can particularly recommend the Ped Ban Thai and the Pad Krapao with crispy duck! The sticky mango rice dessert was also very tasty. A Thai iced tea with lemon goes perfectly with this for a refreshing note or a Thai iced tea with milk for those who like it sweet. The stylish interior design invites you to linger and I also found the dishes very nice. The service – super friendly and attentive. I can only recommend it! 🥰

Very authentic food. Very nice Thai interior decoration and the waitresses in typical Thai clothing. The short dance performances round off the evening nicely.

We have known Ban Thai for several years and have eaten there often. The food was never bad but this time it was. We ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses. We couldn't even recognize the beef salad as such. poorly over-fried strips of beef that were already done; no comparison to the beef salad we had eaten in the same restaurant a few months ago. the shrimp and chicken wontons were like bubble gum. The main course was ok, but just ok. Ban Thai used to be different, much, much better and I hope they change that back to the good old days soon, otherwise it would be a shame for the nice staff and the guests who also want to spend something on the restaurant. And the small side room that is the passage needs urgent renovation, the view of the walls and the door, the sockets, etc. leaves a lot of room for improvement. Dear owners, please take note urgently.

Went there for dinner 3 days ago on a recommendation. Nice ambience inside and courteous staff, when the online orders aren't taking over.... Food from the starter to the main course tastes simply great!!! We'll be back in the summer to try the courtyard and the fish!

I was still chewing my last bite when the waiter rushed to take my plate. What is that, the restaurant was half empty, to say that other clients were waiting for us to go! Lately also the portions are smaller but the prices increased. Before this place was definitely better.

So beautiful and delicious! The restaurant opened at 6 p.m. and we were there at 5:45 p.m. We were still allowed in :) Inside is totally authentic and sweetly decorated, service really attentive and friendly. The food was really great and very nicely prepared! The mango sticky rice was unusually good, the mango was totally tender! So I'm really happy to come back.

Food was burnt and inedible. The breaded chicken was small dried-out chicken nuggets that were mostly breading. Why do you even deliver something like that?! You can immediately smell that it's burned. After a call to the restaurant I was told the manager would call me back and offer a voucher or refund. Of course I wasn't called back.

I was last there 3 years ago and am now very positively surprised by everything. Clean atmosphere, new, nice menu and a large selection of food. Super fresh and friendly Thai service. Food is plentiful. It's great that it turned out so well now (again)

Great lunch option around Bockenheim The place is quite authentic and cozy although it might look a bit weird at first glance. The staff is quite fast to get the order and serve food. The variety of dishes is really big. The portion sizes are generous.

On January 2nd, 2025 at 12:03 p.m., I was at your place with my friend and her son to have lunch. I reserved a table by phone at Ban Thai on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 12:10 p.m. When I arrived and was greeted by the staff, I experienced unexpected behavior from one of the employees. 1. My name was not found in your book. 2. The employee who wore a bit of make-up and had a bun hairdresser spoke to me and asked my name. When she couldn't find my name, she assumed that my reservation was in the name “Khon Suay คนสวย” (translated=beautiful woman) for 3 people. But I made my reservation with my name. 3. Suddenly this employee said loudly to her colleagues in Thai that I almost wouldn't get a table because I'm not that beautiful. When this employee knew that I could speak Thai, she didn't apologize and acted as if nothing had happened. In this situation, I would like to complain about this bullying from this employee. No one deserves to be treated so disrespectfully, either directly or behind their back. Just because a foreigner visits your store doesn't mean that person can't read or understand Thai.

I have known Ban Thai for many, many years. The food was always good. Not sensational, but good. Went there again yesterday on New Year's Eve after a while. The starter (beef salad) was subpar. The thin slices of meat were obviously pre-fried, set aside and thrown into the wok after ordering. Were as dry as chips. I've been eating Asian food regularly for 30 years and I'm passionate about cooking Asian food. I've never had anything like it on my plate before. The appetizer was complained about and taken away by the very friendly waitress. We informed the waiter that we would not replace the starter. The main course and subsequent cocktail were OK, but nothing more. But the fact that the starter was included in its entirety (although barely touched) on the bill is, to say the least, outrageous. We paid the bill because I have no desire to start a big palaver on a New Year's Eve. But: you definitely lost a customer. It's a shame actually.

Nice food, the food were flavourful and well balanced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cozy ambience for meal or gathering.

Both dishes were very tasty and the portions were generous. All the staff in the restaurant were very nice and accommodating. We'd love to come back! Thank you!!

Doesn't have much to do with Thai cuisine. The food arrives within 2 minutes. Ready-made sauce warmed up with vegetables and rice. Very disappointing.

The food is very delicious. The flavor is delicious and truly Thai. Friendly staff, good service. I'm very impressed.

Good quality but very expensive

I had the worst Mai Tai of my life here. Almond syrup was totally dominant. Tasted like watered down Amaretto. The seafood salad (see photo) was delicious but completely overpriced at €17.90. 2 mussels, 2 small shrimp tails and maybe 5 pieces of squid about 3 cm long. The rest was green stuff, and not exactly the most expensive. Far too many onions, the cheapest flavorless tomatoes, chopped into thick pieces, and cucumbers were missing even though they were on the menu. Aubergines in green curry weren't Thai but rather southern European. Only cost a fraction...The curry only tasted sweet. Without the typical Thai flavors. Just curry paste and coconut milk and possibly palm sugar. The chicken in it was warmed up and not fresh. It tasted like a cheap Asian all you can eat buffet where you can indulge in gluttony at lunchtime for 15 euros. And now the highlight, some extra coriander, costs 2 euros. Elsewhere you get this "extra request" that isn't really a request because coriander belongs on every curry, sprinkled over the food without any "extra charge" (the lady came out of the kitchen again and told me that I would have to pay extra costs) without comment. I paid almost 50 euros for everything. I'm definitely not coming back. Ban Thai was THE Thai restaurant in Frankfurt many, many years ago. Back then, seafood salad was served in a mussel shell and consisted of seafood and not 75% green ingredients. Conclusion: way too expensive and not authentic enough for the price.

Ordered takeaway food. It was bad. Was used to different things there. No criticism accepted. Although it definitely smelled bad. Big thumbs down.

Very tasty, very authentic, unfortunately also very cramped rooms

Service friendly. Selection of dishes very extensive & filling. Also a lot of vegetarian dishes. Atmosphere authentic + cozy. Overall feel-good atmosphere. Suitable for dates, cozy evenings, birthdays or business lunches.

Fried noodles were very salty, so I didn't finish half the portion. My friend asked if the “Chu Chi” dish could be made with salmon instead of beef or chicken. The nice waitress went to ask her colleague, who then came to our table and shouted at us as a group with the statement: “You are in a Thai restaurant! Not Japan, not China, not Korea - Thailand!!!" When we all looked at each other confused and the nice waitress finally came to explain to her colleague that it was actually the dish "Chu Chi" (not SUSHI), He walked away without a word and didn't even apologize.

The food is very authentic! The Pad Thai tastes like ln Thailand. The service is very friendly! I'm thrilled! When you walk in you are immediately in a holiday feeling. Come again.

I went to Ban Thai for the first time on Friday and I was really impressed. Would recommend reserving in advance. The restaurant was very busy and the food was very tasty.

Incredibly good Pad Thai, nice atmosphere

In my opinion, authentic and delicious food, cozy outdoor area.

As a Thai person, I can confidently say this is one of the best authentic Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. For the price, it’s incredibly affordable! You couldn’t make this quality of food at home for the same cost. The flavors are amazing, and the service reflects the politeness and warmth of Thai culture. On top of that, the atmosphere is beautifully decorated!

People are nice, food tastes okay, but the price-performance ratio doesn't match at all. For two with a starter and dessert 75 euros is too much for a nice Thai. And from my point of view, it's pure audacity to charge 2.40 euros more than on the menu because the dessert was requested to-go ("labeled outside the house"). You don't do that!

Fried noodles with chicken, noodles were very soft and tasteless, chicken fried extremely dry, for the money you can do better! Really sad for Thai! I've eaten better at a fast food joint.

Wir sind bisher immer gerne ins Ban Thai gegangen, aber das war wohl unser letzter Besuch. 16,90 Euro für ein vegetarische Gericht, 8,90 Euro für die Flasche Wasser - das ist total überteuert. Früher waren die Portionen viel größer. Kleinere Portionen zu höheren Preisen ist unverschämt. Schade, es war eigentlich ein nettes Restaurant.

Unfortunately we had to wait 90 minutes for our food. And this wait was not rewarded: the dishes were all not very tasty, hardly seasoned, had little flavor... all in all very disappointing and not recommended..

Food was good but we expected more

Despite the current staff shortage everywhere, the service is ok. Eating itself is easy at the Thais in Frankfurt. The ambience is also as it should be. But no wonder, we've been going there regularly for at least 35 years, and if it were bad, it wouldn't have survived that long. Something like this is simply rare and must be visited.

Hardly recognizable as a restaurant from the outside, dark but cozy inside. You can sit inside and in the back in a small courtyard. The restaurant and toilets are clean. The staff are quick and friendly, the food is good, but nothing that excites me.

Highly overpriced for the quality. Had the “big” vegetarian pad Thai. Quantity was normal and not in any way “big”. Taste was decent although not really authentic in my opinion. The biggest issue I have is the price. They essentially charge you 17 euros for a bowl of noodles without any meat. This is outrageous in my opinion. You can better quality in westend/bockenheim for 12 euros. All in all Not recommended

This price this taste? Big NO. Pineapple fried rice can’t taste even a hint of pineapple. Can’t even barely found pineapple in it. The whole things just taste like turmeric fried rice. Thai milk tea also can’t taste the milk. The Thai tea also tasted like powder tea instead of brewed tea. The worst Thai milk tea I’ve had in my entire life. The only food that taste authentic and nice is Mango sticky rice. But the portion is so small, 11,90€ for this small portion, ridiculous. Will not recommended this shop. It’s really disappointing!

Taste like the original Mookatha from Thailand. Best food and service, worth the price. I would recommend it and will come back again for sure.

Very good restaurant. A bit hidden, but a very nice atmosphere and a very large, diverse menu. Friendly service and everything at the table very quickly.

I ordered a vegetarian curry and even asked the waiter in advance whether it came without fish or oyster sauce (I'm allergic). I was assured of this. Then the food came, and the first bite definitely tasted like fish sauce. I was somewhat horrified and complained. The waiter's reaction: 'Oh? Would you rather have a purely vegetarian vegetable?' Yes man. I said that too. Vegetarians and vegans should be careful, it doesn't necessarily have veggie in it, even if it says veggie on it.

I did enjoy my stay. 7 minutes waiting for close to perfect Krapao, which should be the hottest dish in the house. It probably was. Beer no tap. Krombacher 0,4L, chilled nothing out of the ordinary but still gOod. Prevailing atmosphere like in a weathered but maintained Road House, bamboo and lanterns, Bar and waitresses speaking service fluently. Restaurant for the ages.

Fish & Chicken dishes were great

The restaurant is known to take down negative reviews, which is not an appropriate way to treat guests/customers!!! This place seemed promising, but for my Asian girlfriend and me, it sadly delivered the worst Thai food we've ever had, lacking any authenticity. The pad thai was disappointingly sweet, and the beef was both tough and sugary. It was the first time I encountered pad thai served with such a thin, sweet sauce. Our appetizers appeared stale and were so hard and dry that they hardly had any flavor left. I never thought a main dish could give me a sugar rush until now. On a brighter note, the mango lassi was delicious and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, the long wait and the high prices didn't match the quality of the food. However, the ambiance was quite inviting.

Unfortunately, constructive criticism is not accepted here either, but attempts are made to have bad reviews deleted using obscene tricks. With so much customer unfriendliness, I'm taking down one star - that's also constructive and justified! This is not how you treat guests. And P.S.: I was there, there are three witnesses to that! Nice secluded seating in the courtyard, but mediocre Asian food with lots of preservatives and flavor enhancers

I was there based on a recommendation and ordered this Ped Pad Thai with extra morels and bean sprouts, I paid around €20. I come home, I'm looking forward to it and the duck, the main component, is missing. I called and they said you can pick it up tomorrow 😂😂. Honestly it's so annoying and very disappointing.

I've been here many times and have NEVER been disappointed! For me the best Thai in Frankfurt. Everything here is always fresh, delicious and the atmosphere is great! Authentic food - anyone who KNOWS Thailand can judge that! Keep it up! I'm a fan - and I'll be back next week!!!

Food was okay... but after the meal a mouse ran comfortably through the dining room and the employees reacted as if it were normal, just disgusting! Don't eat here, hygiene = 0, unnecessarily expensive for a very small portion

Rodents in the restaurant: Have previously been a fan of the restaurant as the food tastes very well, but on our last visit we clearly saw mice running through the restaurant (inside), unbothered between the tables and other guests. Rodents do not belong in a restaurant.

Food was tasty, but nothing special. Service was rather unfriendly.

The food may cost a little more but it was absolutely delicious and there was a lot to choose from. I would eat there again at any time.

You can always trust the Thai cuisine called "Ban Thai"😂.. I found another one named this in Reykjavik, and it's good as well.. Every time I come back to Frankfurt, I come to this restaurant and it has been for several years.Inside is a bit crowded and the seats are too small. Because their business is too popular, please remember to reserve the seat in advance, otherwise it is almost impossible for you to walk in. Their food is so delicious. As a level 10 Thai food lover and amateur gourmet, I have eaten Thai food in every city in Europe. I can honestly say that the Thai food here is the best I have ever tasted in Europe. The most authentic one.

Very tasty food and also cozy at lunch because it was empty. The waitress just didn't respond at all when you wanted something because she was chatting with people at the bar.

I was recently in Thailand and ate authentic Thai food away from the tourist restaurants. The food at Ban-Thai is really authentic, especially when it comes to the Thai curries. By far the best Thai restaurant in Frankfurt!

8 of us colleagues went during a busy Sunday evening. The staff were non-stop but the food took ages to come out, both starter & main. Once it arrived it was worth the wait. The 2-person platter (shared 2 lots between us) was tasty with skewers & Thai snacks and dipping sauce, whilst my Yellow Curry Beef for main was really nice. Not bad price also.

The decor is great, it really feels like you’re in Thailand. The quality of the dishes is not great but it's still average The service isn't great either especially for a Thai restaurant, normally it's supposed to be the land of smiles but I think the climate in Germany has made them sour. And as for the times, we came to eat at 9:30 p.m., we wanted to have dessert at 10:15 p.m. We were told that the kitchen was closed and it was not possible to have dessert or coffee 🤔.

NIE WIEDER. Eine Frechheit: kommen am Samstag mit 4 Personen um 14 Uhr. Erste Frage von der Bedienung: Sie wissen schon , dass wir um 15 Uhr schliessen? Hallo, es ist noch eine Stunde. Kurz gefasst, so ging es weiter, Papaysalat ohne Papay, Huhn trocken, Sosse geschmacklos. Von der Terasse wehte Müll- und Fäkaliengeruch herein. Eher eine Thema fürs Gesundheitsamt. Und dann wird - ungefragt - die Rechnung um 14.40 Uhr auf den Tisch geknallt. Geht´s noch. Hasta la vista

Das Ban Thai gibt es schon Jahrzehnte und immer wieder gut. Leckeres Essen, die tom kha pak klasse, currys etc. Tolles Ambiente, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Immer gut besucht, bei mehreren Personen sollte man reservieren

Das Restaurant ist authentisch ei gerichtet und gemütlich. Das Personal war etwas überfordert, aber trotzdem sehr nett. Leider waren die bestellten curry's beide wirklich kalt und das Hühnchen nicht mal richtig durch. Auf den Umstand angesprochen, gab es nur ein "ich gebe es der Küche weiter" und ob ich das essen noch mitnehmen möchte. Magenprobleme gab es am Abend noch aufs Haus!

Mein absoluter Lieblings-Thai seit sehr vielen Jahren. Gereift wie alter Wein. Das Essen wird immer noch besser.

Service sehr nett. Ambiente auch schön aber die Currys sehr flüssig, sehr wenig Gemüse Anteil. Eher so naja, ist OK gibt aber bessere Thais.
