The food is delicious, but unfortunately, it gets cold during the evening when you're chatting because the hot plates are no longer used, which is a deterioration compared to the past. Service was very friendly and attentive. We were also able to reserve a table easily.

By far the tastiest Thai restaurant in Frankfurt!

Bangkok restaurant offered a nice dining experience with generous portions and tasty food. The atmosphere was pleasant, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was okay, but overall, we had a very enjoyable evening. Definitely a spot to revisit for good food and a nice ambiance.

I went out to eat with a very good friend today, we were absolutely thrilled, everything tasted authentic. I have been to Thailand several times, and of course no other restaurant can match the cuisine offered locally in BGK. But if there is one restaurant that comes close, it is this one. My Suvadee in the Steinweg Passage used to be my favorite, but I have to say this one has now replaced it, and of course we have been to Suvadee too often for a change to be necessary 😂😂. The boss also refuses to put anything you would like in any of the dishes. I was surprised; I wanted the Thai mushrooms, peppers and onions with my No. 19, but she said we don't have them here, they don't taste good together. In many other German restaurants I would have stood up and left if I wanted onions with my Jägerschnitzel and they would say we don't do that, it doesn't taste good 😂😂. The boss somehow conveyed it so well and also said they could have the mushrooms separately, but we don't put them in there. It's simply brilliant. If I have just one small criticism, it would be for a small 0.2 liter bottle of Coke, Fanta, etc. I think €3.50 is extremely expensive, so 1 liter costs €17.50. I drank five small bottles, which isn't the rule but the exception, but Coke Zero is the same price. All in all, very tasty. We'll be back, and thank you so much, Claire 😘👍🏻

The best place for Thai food, with very friendly staff, a great atmosphere, a wide selection, and delicious cocktails. The number of Asian guests demonstrates how authentic the dishes are and how true to the local cuisine. It's always a little culinary journey through Thailand, highly recommended, and clean.

Today we visited the Bangkok restaurant for the first time, after it was recommended to us during an online search for authentic Thai cuisine in Frankfurt. We were not disappointed; we were thrilled with the food, the Indian service, and the ambiance. From the papaya salad to the vegetarian curry to the coconut rice dessert, everything was perfect. We would gladly return and highly recommend the restaurant.

We were regular customers here for over 15 years. Unfortunately, the place is a joke. Every time we give it a chance, we're disappointed. The food seems to be getting more expensive every week, and the taste and quantity are now at the level of a takeaway. The dishes are prepared with total carelessness, and something is always forgotten. Today, for example, we had cashew chicken, 10 euros, but be careful, no cashews. Not a single cashew kernel. We won't be back.

Wir waren das erste Mal im Bangkok und hatten zum Glück reserviert, denn es war sehr voll. Sehr gemütliches Ambiente mit Interieur aus schöner Holzvertäfelung und thailändischen Bildern und Figuren. Essen war super lecker, die beste Ente mit rotem Curry seit langem. Auswahl an Aperitifs enthielt leider nichts alkoholfreies. Service erschien hektisch und etwas unorganisiert. Kommen gerne wieder.

We ordered from Bangkokexpress for the first time today. Both the Thai duck and the sushi were very tasty and absolutely more than fair in terms of price. We also had our own supplier, who was also punctual and friendly. Then called the boss again. Quality and service are spot on here!! Gladly again.

The service was nice and kind. But the food was mediocre.

Even one star is way too much for this establishment. Unfriendly staff coupled with mass processing regarding the reservation time. Leftover food is put into bags. This does not exactly speak for an excellent and prepared service. In summary, I would rate the restaurant as more than unsatisfactory.

Unfortunately, it is impossible that the reservation is limited in time and that when it expires the bill is placed on a plate that is still full because the “other guests are already waiting for the table”. After my complaint, I was rudely informed that it was written that way on the homepage. I actually found a tiny reference to this procedure on the booking page while scrolling. Of course, this needs to be made much clearer, because it's a rude awakening and actually not worth a star.

Food is mediocre. Not well seasoned and lukewarm. Little meat and lots of onions. Price performance is not right here. Unfortunately, very friendly service doesn't make up for it. There are two meal times, 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. There are much better Thai restaurants in Frankfurt. Too bad.

We spontaneously reserved a table and then had to wait a long time with other guests until we were allowed to sit, even though the tables we were seated at were free the entire time. The service was very nice but slow. But the food was very, very tasty, we also really enjoyed the starters!

The ambience of the place and the cleanliness is very good! In my opinion the food is average as it is no different from shops that charge 6 euros less per dish. Noticeable on the duck. Be careful when paying by card, the tip selection options at the payment terminal have been adjusted so that you are forced to give more tips than you want.

Overrated! 1: Only looking for sales. Eat quickly, pay quickly. As soon as the fork is on the plate they want to clear it away. The glass still had 1/7 content, so I asked straight away if I wanted to order something else to drink. Attentive, yes, but also intrusive. 2: Eating large portions but bland seasoning. When ordering meat like Koi Wan Gai, more soup (coconut milk) than eggplant and chicken. Pad Thai too oily. 3: Payment: The US version of tipping for card payments has also been introduced here (10%,15%,20%). You can DO it, but the tipping system in this country is rounding up, depending on your taste or 10%. We are not like the USA. The employees here should be registered for social security contributions, a tip is a tip and not a hidden price increase. The market will sort it out. 4: Price performance ambience therefore very mixed.

We were there for the first time yesterday because of the positive reviews, but we were disappointed. For the fact that the restaurant praises itself so positively on its homepage. The service was very friendly and attentive, the restaurant is also cozy and inviting. In contrast to other reviews, I also think it's ok that you only have the table for a certain period of time. The restaurant is not that big and the people who work there also have to be paid. However, we were disappointed with the food. I had fried egg noodles with chicken. I would give this 2.5 stars. It was very poorly seasoned, had few sprouts and the meat was unfortunately a bit dry. I've had much better food in other restaurants. They could have added a lot more green to it, roasted peanuts on top, etc. I found it totally boring and bland. My husband had minced beef with chili and rice. The taste was good, but it was relatively cold when we arrived and the portion of rice was very small considering it was a main course. We were told they didn't have plate warmers, but it was questionable why the food wasn't warm enough, we were one of the first guests there, either not cleaned up enough or not fresh or newly prepared. My husband would give his food 3 stars in terms of taste. The appetizer of chicken skewers with peanut sauce was good. It was ok to try out the restaurant, but unfortunately the price/performance ratio wasn't right. For us it was very simple food and far from traditional Thai food.

Not recommended, waited a long time for food, service not very friendly, somehow overwhelmed. My wife's food came 10 minutes later, like mine, then forgot the rice, loud as in a train station, We were quickly pushed through so that the table was free again, not a nice thing, my phad thai was with 4 shrimps and a bit of chicken, very manageable, taste-wise, not the best phad thai I've ever had When we asked for the bill, the waitress said if everything was ok, but that she didn't have to leave a tip, we didn't feel welcome, and we weren't picked up by this restaurant

Das Restaurant Bangkok wird als eines der ältesten thailändischen Restaurants in Frankfurt beworben (1974) und bietet eine authentische, nostalgische Atmosphäre. Die Einrichtung, geprägt von viel Holz und traditionellen Elementen, erinnert an frühere Vorstellungen von thailändischer Inneneinrichtung, wie sie in den 80er und 90er Jahren populär waren. Zum Mittagessen haben wir eine Vorspeise und einen Hauptgang genossen. Die Wantan-Suppe als Vorspeise war geschmacklich stimmig, auch wenn mir der Teig der Wantans persönlich eher wie italienischer Nudelteig vorkam. Der Hauptgang war ebenfalls gut und hinterließ einen positiven Eindruck. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, die Preise angemessen, und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis erschien uns sehr ausgewogen. Auch die angenehme Atmosphäre und das entspannte Publikum trugen zu einem rundum gelungenen Erlebnis bei. Ein schönes Restaurant, das wir bei Gelegenheit gerne wieder besuchen würden.

Havent had authentic thai food in a very long time. As good as I had in thailand

Schade, dass man vor der Tür warten muss, bis man hereingelassen wird. Obwohl vor der Tür die Leute Schlange stehen, wird keine Sekunde früher geöffnet. Der Service ist aufmerksam und nach der Bestellung geht's schnell. Vom Essen her sind die Portionen eher übersichtlich und preislich nicht gerade günstig (insbesondere die vegetarischen Gerichte).

The food was excellent but the atmosphere was way too loud which made it hard to enjoy the experience. Additionally, the waiter was very pushy and pressured us into giving us a tip, which seemed rude. It is important to note that tipping is not mandatory in Germany and such pressure is unnecessary and unprofessional.

Sehr lecker und gemütlich. Leider wird man sehr gehetzt, da die Tische sehr eng getacktet wieder vergeben werden.

Das Essen war gut wie immer, das bekannte Ambiente immer noch etwas Besonderes. Die Abfertigung in Zeitslots von 115 Min., sowie die damit verbundene Hetze bei der Bestellung und beim Servieren ist absolut nicht nach unserem Geschmack und wird uns von weiteren Besuchen in diesem Restaurant mit Sicherheit abhalten, ebenso wie die schon fast an Nötigung grenzende Aufforderung zur Zahlung von Trinkgeldern (die wir im Übrigen gern geben - aber freiwillig!). Völlig aus dem Rahmen fällt auch der Preis von € 8 für 0,15 l markenlosen Hauswein.

One of the oldest Thai restaurants in Frankfurt. Authentic and not a European variant. Delicious and always a pleasure!

Was there again yesterday... Service depends on the person, like everywhere else. It's a little too unpersonal and a little inflexible for me. -Young man ostensibly made an effort, but plates were placed incorrectly on the table, cutlery was forgotten, my table mate's curry and my 3m meal were brought to me... when I had questions, there was a perplexed silence... - Meals are very tasty, priced in the medium to higher range, but ok. It was not possible to get rice noodles instead of rice. Only with an additional charge of 2.50... - Rice bowl for 2 people was very tight! - shocking: all wines per glass 8! EURO. And that for 0.15 instead of 0.2 glasses. I find it an impudence and an extortion. Also completely inappropriate for a Thai restaurant. Bottle of wine from 35! Euro... up to 55 Euro and more for a Pinot Gris or Riesling, i.e. regional "house wine" and not imported from Thailand,-) Conclusion: food good, service ok, wines an absurdity... I wouldn't pay for it in any restaurant in ffm with a similarly priced menu. I won't recommend it just like that, or with appropriate advice... Follow-up visit very uncertain! I was really upset.

However, as other guests here have already commented, I also had the impression that guests should not be encouraged to linger for too long. I also thought the food didn't taste particularly good. The spices were neither balanced nor authentic, but rather adapted to the European palate. There was a lot of sauce and meat, but few vegetables.

Because a lot of things in Frankfurt were closed on Mondays, discovered by chance by our daughter on Tiktok. Good discovery. Apparently there for many years. Coherent design. Yesterday we were in Bangkok for the first time. As soon as we walked in we were told that the table was only available for 1.5 hours, that wasn't inviting! There's nothing wrong with the food, everything was very tasty, but the plates that were brought beforehand were full of fingerprints, not very appetizing! When I was paying, when the waiter told me the amount, he asked if that was exactly it? Pointing out to me whether you want to give a tip is a bit rude!

We can't say anything about the food because it didn't get that far at all. We've never been to this place before and wanted to try it because we found the menu appealing. We were there at lunchtime and saw that they opened at 12pm. One of the service staff was working outside and another was inside who just opened the door when we were standing in front of it. Because it was 5 minutes to 12, we asked the woman inside if we could come in. She said “feel free to come in”. Just as we were about to cross the threshold, the other woman outside freaked out. She YELLED at us that they weren't open yet, so we could think of going in. She was completely beside herself with rage and was drooling like a mad dog. We then left, never to see each other again. You don't have to be treated like that as a guest. Now you can see what kind of people they are writing “fake reviews”. What I am writing happened to us on Saturday August 31st at 11:55 am. Believe it or don't believe it. I know what's true! PS: I am a Local Guide on Google with almost 41,000 views of my reviews and you will hardly find a bad review for me. So why should I lie?

Bangkok has been in Frankfurt for 50 years now, and I finally went there. The service was very friendly and we were able to sit at the outside tables when the weather was nice. The portions were really great, and especially the red curry with beef and the Bangkok duck were very tasty. The duck was sensationally crispy!!! The beef salad also looked sensational! Overall, a really nice restaurant, which can certainly be described as a Frankfurt legend.

The waiter demands a tip forcefully and blames his boss.

Seit fast 50 Jahren in Familien Besitz. Kenne es seit ca 40 Jahren. Hatte für 13:30 reserviert. Ca 1 Stunde vorher bekam ich einen Anruf, ob wir nicht etwas früher kommen wollten, dann hätten wir mehr Zeit bis zum schließen. Ich fand das sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr gut. Keine lange Wartezeit. Bedienung war freundlich. Jederzeit wieder. Waren zu meinem Geburtstag extra aus Fulda angereist. 😋😍
