Raahi - Fine Indian Food in Lübeck

A visit to Raahi is now a must for us on every trip from Bremen to the Baltic Sea or on the way back! Everything we've ordered so far has been absolutely delicious. Authentic Indian cuisine meets modern tastes and refined sophistication without overdoing the fine dining theme. The drinks (we ordered two homemade lemonades – mango and cardamom, and Indian-style lime soda) also underscore the restaurant's special flavors. We especially recommend the vegetarian, super crispy yet soft-on-the-inside vegetable kofta in tomato and cashew sauce. We're already looking forward to our next stop!

Since Indian cuisine is relatively new in Lübeck, We tried the lunch menu everywhere first. This is by far the most elegant Indian restaurant. Even the sanitary area is lovingly equipped. As we were able to compare with the other Indian restaurants, the food here was the most expensive, but not the best. It was actually just tomato sauce with very little meat. I had clay oven chicken with cashews and fenugreek. No trace of the nuts. Yes, it was lunch, but so were the other restaurants. Even the mango lassie was little and more expensive. Furnishings and decorative details also cost money, but price and performance must be compatible.

Perfect! In addition to the friendly service, the dishes were a taste explosion. Highly recommended!

Curious about modern Indian food, I ate here on Friday evening. Many other restaurants that we also wanted were full, Raahi still had a lot of room. Nicely decorated restaurant, looks professional. Still, I found the staff a bit awkward walking around. We ordered two starters and a main course. The first starter looked very exciting. However, the waiter could have explained how they changed a traditional fried snack. The flavors were sometimes mild but also surprisingly strong. The two chicken dishes were very tasty. Finally had sorbet ice cream and that was also good. In short, we left satisfied. All in all it was a bit on the pricey side and the service could have been better otherwise I would have definitely given 5*!

We had dinner at Raahi last month and initially we thought this would be one of those expensive indian places where the food may not be so authentic, but boy were we wrong. The food was super authentic and everything from the chaat to the main course tasted so good and believe it or not spicy enough. Would happily eat here again if we visit Lubeck in the future.

Nieuwsgierig geworden naar modern Indiaas eten hier op vrijdagavond gegeten. Veel ander restaurants die we ook wilden zaten vol, Raahi had nog heel veel plaats. Mooi ingericht restaurant, ziet er professioneel uit. Toch vond ik het personeel wat onwennig rondlopen. We bestelden twee voorgerechten en een hoofdgerecht. Het eerste voorgerecht zag er heel spannend uit. De smaken waren inderdaad mild maar ook verrassend. De twee kipgerechten waren heel lekker. Tot slot sorbetijs genomen en dat was ook goed. Kortom we gingen tevreden weg. Al met al was het wel wat aan de prijzige kant en de bediening kon beter anders had ik zeker 5* gegeven!

Nice restaurant, I didn't think the naan was that great, but the main courses (prawns & duck) were! The Pinot Gris is also excellent and the service is also great. The restaurant somehow didn't seem fully furnished. Maybe there was also a table that we got.

Me and my company had four different dishes, two chicken and two lamb dishes, all were delicious.

Nice restaurant in terms of ambience. However, when it comes to the food and drinks, the price-performance ratio is sometimes difficult. I was impressed by the quality of the food, especially against the background of cf. not convinced by the relatively high prices. The following would be better: - The main courses are over-seasoned for my taste. Not in accordance with From too spicy, more like too much of a hodgepodge of huge amounts of spices, so that no finely nuanced taste is created. For me, our dishes tasted quite similar... It would also be desirable if the curries didn't just consist of meat and sauce, which is rather hearty and heavy, but also had a generous amount of vegetables. These were completely missing from the non-vegetarian versions. - In my opinion, side dishes, especially yoghurts and bread, are very overpriced for what is on offer (roughly the amount of a roll). Some drinks are similar, for example lemonades and desserts. The service was not objectionable.

I was here with my parents and I must say that we were speechless for the dishes, the elegance of the restaurant and the friendliness of the owner. we wanted to try different dishes to share ad for this reason we asked the owner to recommend different things for us. spot on choice of dishes!!! Wow everything very balanced, tasty and unique! I had never tried these dishes in an Indian restaurant. I hope they open a new location in Hamburg where I live and in Italy💚💚

Excellent restaurant! We took advice from the owner and he delighted us with some of their strong dishes and I must say that we were amazed and very satisfied. It was all really great and I highly recommend it! First of all for the quality of the very balanced and tasty food and then for the friendliness of the staff. I hope to find such a high quality restaurant in Italy too

We were really excited for this place especially looking at the reviews! Which made the disappointment sting even more. We had the lamb curry and a paneer dish, and they were both flavorless. It felt like the ingredients would be higher quality but without spice, seasoning, or flavor. Especially for a fine dining restaurant, we expected more. Digging further, we saw some comments mentioning that this was Indian food for the German palate. Maybe that’s it? But whatever the reason, very disappointing. Staff was nice and accommodating though and the space was cute!

The three of us had a really great meal! Starters great, main courses delicious! 3 drinks plus a large bottle of water 100 euros, absolutely fair. Very good value for money. 100% recommendation!

Four of us ate here yesterday. The food tasted good (starters and main courses; dessert was okay), but the prices were very high. The significantly higher price compared to other Indian restaurants was not noticeable in the food for me. Neither in terms of taste nor in quantity (rather small portions). As a young man, I would have quickly had to shell out 40 to 50 just for food to get enough of it. When you're over 50, you don't eat that much anymore. My main course (vegetable balls) cost €18.50 and consisted of 3 balls the size of table tennis balls. These were in a deep dish with sauce. Then there was rice, which also didn't offer any taste a-ha experiences. The naan bread with 4 sauces cost a total of €12 and was rather dry. I know it differently too. As I said, we couldn't understand why everything here is 20-30% more expensive than in other restaurants with identical cuisine. I wouldn't come here again.

Unfortunately left disappointed and won’t return. Tasty food but very small portions at a high price point. Ordered a starter and a main but still left somewhat hungry. Service is lacking, not attentive enough for the price. Sorry but wouldn’t recommend.

Went to Raahi this afternoon. A really very pretty and stylish restaurant. Food and service very good. However, it's not acceptable for me that all of my clothes smell completely like food/kitchen after visiting a restaurant. This needs to be improved.

We had a very tasty curry. A nice atmosphere with attentive service and very tasty food.

It was our first time here but definitely not our last. This afternoon we had the restaurant all to ourselves, which was nice. We really liked the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had exactly the right choice of food for us, but we will definitely try it out. We were thrilled from the starter to the dessert and will definitely continue to explore the menu.

The smell is enchanting when you enter the Redtaurant. Beautiful, modern atmosphere with very tasty dishes. Finally a good papadum with chutney and avocado mint dip as a starter and vegetarian dishes and curries with meat as main courses. Many naan bread variations. Everything is very appetizingly prepared. Really fine dining.

The food was tasty, but quite small and extremely expensive. The service was simply bad: the menu said “Ask us about vegan alternatives”, but the lady at the service didn’t know anything about it. When we were asked as we were clearing up whether we were satisfied and said that we still had room in our stomachs, we were told that we should have ordered more starters. Despite the empty glasses, we weren't asked if we wanted something more to drink and overall we just felt forgotten. A high price is okay, but then please pay for some service. I wouldn't recommend it, there are much better Indian restaurants in Lübeck.

A really great, modern Indian restaurant! The curry was absolutely delicious – every spoonful was a treat. The spices and variety in my dish were perfectly balanced. The other dishes that I was able to try through my friends were all individual and really special. The atmosphere was very nice, everything was centrally located, and the employees were super friendly and accommodating. The homemade drinks look great, but are a bit small for the price. Nevertheless, a successful evening and I would love to come back!

This place is awesome for Indian food. Ambience is brilliant and food is superb along with the presentation. And trust me Pritamji will make your evening perfect with food. Must try if you are in Luebeck…..

Price performance is not right here. We didn't particularly like it for the money we paid.

We were here for the first time, but definitely not the last time. EVERYTHING is just right in this restaurant! The ambience is beautiful, the food is excellent, the service is friendly and competent and the price-performance ratio is right.

We had reserved a table in the hope that we would get a nice seat. Reservation successfully confirmed two days in advance. Instead we were put in the small adjoining room with a large group; it was loud and far too narrow! Absolutely incomprehensible how you can squeeze two people into the room and seriously consider it a suitable place! Certainly the perfect solution for the company to be able to celebrate something separately, but other guests absolutely didn't fit in! No compromise could be agreed, so never again.

We were there for lunch with two adults and two children, for four people 120 EUR - that's pretty sporty. The restaurant has a very high quality design, the food is well presented, a nice change from other Indian restaurants. The service is not attentive enough for the price level.

We were put in the back room, the sauces for the main courses were watery and only the quality of the meat corresponded to the prices quoted. Wouldn't go there again. Ghandi in Lübeck is a much better (and cheaper) address.

It was pure enjoyment for the palate, in a stylish ambience, with friendly service.

Wir sind spontan zu acht bei Raahi vorbeigeschneit - eine Großfamilie auf Kurzurlaub, kurz entschlossen, hungrig, viel Lust auf Indisch. Platz gefunden (mit ein bisschen Glück und Hilfe durch den Chef). Links und rechts Lübecker, die das Essen richtig genossen. Und wir? Waren beeindruckt! Keine Speisekarte mit Gericht Nr. 11 bis Nr. 67. Sondern ca. 12 Hauptgerichte, von denen wir acht probierten und sie sehr genossen haben. Es folgten Nachspeisen, auch hier nichts von Allerwelt, sondern etwas Besonderes. Wenn wir wieder in Lübeck sind, schauen wir wieder vorbei!

Ein für uns wunderschön eingerichtetes, extrem entspanntes indisches Restaurant in Lübeck mit super freundlichem Personal! Es besticht nicht mit einer typischen Einrichtung, im Gegenteil, sehr modern mit einer fantastischen, dezenten Beleuchtung. Wir waren von der ersten Minute an total entspannt. Sehr angenehm! Auf der Speisenkarte findet man Speisen aus verschiedenen Regionen Indiens. Nicht zuviele, aber dafür besondere Speisen. Auch nicht aller Welt Speisen die man sonst in einem indischen Restaurant erwarten würde. Das hat für uns den Reiz ausgemacht. Sehr lecker! Aber da Geschmäcker verschieden sind, solltet ihr euch selbst einen Eindruck machen, ob es auch was für euch wäre! Preis / Leistung ist gerechtfertigt, wenn man sich von typischen Restaurants dieser Küche absondern möchte und etwas besonderes daraus machen möchte. Versucht es! Wir fanden es hat sich gelohnt!

I've never had such good Indian food. Simply great. Only recommended

- We like to try out new restaurants - on Friday evening - off to India! We really liked the ambience - we got a nice table in the back - we really liked it. At first we only ordered appetizers and drinks! And the waiting time was used to choose the main course! Drinks came promptly - you actually let people try the wine beforehand - Starter: slightly spicy and delicious Shrimp with octopus - unfortunately almost only shrimp - 2 rings of hidden octopus that we didn't see The experience spanned the entire evening and most of the dishes. We were satisfied with the taste and appearance. But - €16.50 for three vegetable balls in sauce with rice? What else were we missing? The service was nice, tried hard but not present or professional: -Wine and drinks were mixed up! -Glasses were brought stacked -Guests are not allowed to pour or refill wine for tasting purposes -Main course was not included until we pointed it out- - Table was not cleared - No further requests were asked - no service employee to be seen - We had to order coffee ourselves again - a calculator was used to halve the bill of €208.40 :-( Conclusion: Delicious & cool ambience - but unfortunately the price-performance ratio isn't right for us yet. We wish you much success and hope that our rating can help you become successful.

A successful, tasty and beautiful visit! We were there for the first time and have never eaten such a good curry in Germany. It was full-bodied, exciting and, above all, the chef wasn't afraid to season authentically. The ambience gives the whole thing a wonderful setting. In terms of price, we found it to be absolutely justified. We are happy to pay 80 euros with a tip for a starter, two main courses, bread and drinks for such a lovely evening. I actually wanted to take photos because the dishes were very attractively prepared, but I forgot because of my appetite. We'll probably have to come back! 😉

I went with my partner who lives in Lübeck. Both her food and mine were delicious! So much more flavour and creative dishes than I've experienced before and I lived in London for a number of years (which we like to think has good cuisine - ha)

You can do it, I've been to better Indians. In terms of price, it's more in the middle range.

Honestly we were a bit disappointed. The menu describes the starter options in a way, that if you want to share and taste as much different flavors - than this is what you should go for. So we ended up ordering 4 Starters to share instead of a big plate each. It ended up being very small portions, and not very flavorful. It feels like tailor made for the german palate. Where were all the nice Indian spices? Together with 2 wines we ended up paying 85€ which was too much for what it was. The restaurant itself looks great and has a nice vibe. But the food couldn’t deliver for us!

Excellent food and service, but does not taste very authentic. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it feels like Indian cuisine tailored to German taste. The spice was not nearly spicy enough, the different creamy dishes did not taste distinct from each other, and the portions were not large enough despite the somewhat high prices. A proper meal for one person would cost upwards of 20 to 30 euros. The mango lassi was wonderful, though.

We were 3 women and had a really wonderful meal. Totally delicious, everything looks great. Very friendly staff. Very cozy in the restaurant. We would like to come again.

The owner was very friendly and the food was quite authentic. It is harder to find authentic Indian food in Germany. It is a bit pricy, but I feel like, it is worth it. And great ambience, and not decorated to an absurd level to make it look like Indian restaurant. As a recommendation, opting for Indian spicy gives the best taste. Yes, it can be spicy but it balances the other flavours well.

The ambience is very nice, the service pleasantly attentive. I expected more from the food in terms of taste. Our dishes were good and wholesome, but there was something special missing. It was a bit spicy, but the consistency of the sauces (very thin), as well as the lack of spices, caused a bit of disappointment. You expect an experience, but there is nothing that you will remember in terms of taste. Neither starter, main course nor dessert stood out. Even the beautiful presentation doesn't change that much. My companion, who had been to India many times, was also missing something special. A pity. It is not authentic Indian cuisine.

I had dinner at Raahi Restaurant with my parents on May 1st and we all loved it! The dishes (butter chicken, matar paneer and vegetable balls) were attractively presented and all tasted very fresh, delicate and aromatic - a clear difference to the sauces and curries drowned in cream that you often find in Indian restaurants. As we later found out, the sauces here are refined with cashews. The Indian lemonade “Lime Soda” and the dessert, a sorbet variation, were also extremely tasty. The nice conversation with the owner, the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly service made the visit perfect. We will be back definitely!

We came in and were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and were briefly asked if we had reserved, of course we had. I would also recommend it. A very nice atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. The food was really good, we had the Butter Chicken and the Smoked Murgh, it was a bit spicy but completely ok, you could still taste the other spices. For dessert we had the sorbet, it was very good. We'll definitely be back.

For me personally the best Indian in Lübeck! Perfect, pleasant atmosphere, very friendly and competent service from the boss himself! Thanks to his 18 years of global experience, he brings creative and extremely tasty Indian cuisine to the menu that surprises you very positively. In terms of price, this restaurant was also super fair for what you get👍🏼 All in all, eating out here was a great experience and we love coming here again and again!
