Had a wonderful experience at this Indian restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and perfectly spiced. The mutton rogan gosh and laccha parotha were amazing, and the aroma of the dishes made the whole meal even better. The staff was friendly and the service was impressive. Highly recommended if you love Indian cuisine!

I had chole bhature at Namaste India in Lübeck and it was honestly the best I’ve had in the entire Hamburg–Lübeck region. The chole was perfectly spiced, rich and flavorful, and the bhature were soft and freshly made. It tasted just like authentic North Indian street food. If you’re craving proper Indian comfort food while in Lübeck, this place is definitely worth visiting!

Delicious food, very friendly waiters. The menu offers something for everyone, and the four of us enjoyed everything, with different appetizers and main courses. We also liked the interior design. Our wait time was perfectly acceptable, and the price was very reasonable. Our only criticism: the restaurant was packed, and the restrooms definitely need to be cleaned more thoroughly; the toilet paper was empty.

I eat at Namaste regularly and am always thrilled. The food is truly top-notch: super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply authentic in flavor. You can tell that they cook with quality and love. The service is always friendly, attentive, and quick; you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is also very pleasant, cozy, and clean. The price-performance ratio is also excellent, especially considering the quality you receive. Whether you eat in or takeaway, it always tastes fantastic. For me, it's clearly one of the best restaurants in Lübeck. I will definitely continue to be a regular! 🙌🍛

We were here for dinner with a group of six. Making a reservation online was very easy. Everyone was very happy with the food and drinks. I couldn't decide what to order, so I went for the non-vegetarian thali. It was an excellent choice. A nice little bit of everything, and they even catered to our individual requests and preferences. The portion size was perfect. Therefore, I highly recommend trying the Gajar Ka Halwa for dessert. It sounds unusual, but it's absolutely delicious!

Visited this restaurant today and had a fantastic experience. We tried a starter platter with samosas, onion pakoras, and potato pakoras, all crispy and flavorful. The paneer starter and tandoori starter were delicious and well cooked. For the main course, we had a variety of naans, palak paneer, butter masala, lamb curry, and chilli paneer — every dish was rich in taste and beautifully prepared. We also enjoyed Indian beers and local beers, which went perfectly with the food. Everything was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. Truly enjoyed the meal — highly recommended and will definitely visit again!

We wanted to eat at this Indian restaurant, but we were told that all the tables were reserved, even though several tables were clearly free. This didn't make sense to us. Unfortunately, it made us feel unwelcome. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding, but the experience was disappointing. It's a shame, because we were really looking forward to the meal.

Good quality food served quickly and elegantly. I was surprised to find such a delicious spicy serving of my favorite bhindi masala in Lübeck. Needless to say, I wiped up my lunch plate using the delicious paratha to scoop up the bhindi and the nagar paneer servings. For dessert we had the gajar halwa which was every bit as authentic as you’d find in New Delhi. Topped it up with masala chai Indian style. My only gripe is that I can’t visit this spot every week!

Two hours waiting for a delivery that never turned on

This review refers to a home delivery order I placed with Wolt. I had eaten there a few years ago and it was very tasty, so 4-5 stars. However, the order didn't arrive for about 1.5 hours, which was about half an hour late, and it was incomplete. Half of the food was missing, and the rest was lukewarm, oversalted, and practically inedible, so we had to throw half of it away as well. Therefore, I definitely cannot recommend ordering from them. The handling of the matter with Wolt was very good, and we received a refund for the missing food. ————- Update 12/14/26: After the above review, the restaurant contacted me and wanted to make amends. We just received three complimentary dishes that were of the same high quality as when we dined there. I think this is a very professional way of dealing with criticism, and I am now a very satisfied customer again 😀. However, I'll continue to steer clear of Wolt.

We spontaneously decided to visit the restaurant the day before yesterday, and they managed to get us a table for two even though all the tables were reserved. We agreed to stay for a maximum of one hour and were then able to enjoy a delicious meal. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with a wonderful array of spices – typical of good Indian cuisine. We recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side. The service was very polite and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We highly recommend this restaurant and will gladly return as soon as we're in Lübeck again.

He got the spice level for the lamb vindaloo exactly right for me, offering to adjust it if necessary. Suggested a lovely indian rum to wrap up the meal. Excellent Indian food. Would go back.

Namaste is our favorite Indian restaurant on the old town island, and we eat and order from there regularly. Very friendly and attentive service and excellent/authentic Indian cuisine. (Note: If "spicy" is on the menu, it is spicy. ;-) )

Sometimes, though sadly not very often, you walk into a restaurant and everything just clicks from the very first moment. This is our second time coming from Kassel to Lübeck to eat here, drawn by the warm welcome, wonderful service, and fantastic food. Despite the Christmas market and the resulting hustle and bustle, we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening with friends and felt like we were visiting them. Everything here is just right. The food is authentic and incredibly varied. It tastes like real comfort food! Wonderful. The service, especially the head waiter, is extremely friendly and professional. Every request was met or even exceeded. (Our son was given a complimentary lassi by the bartender upon arrival, and the adults received a shot at the end.) We spent a very cozy and enjoyable evening, with plenty of variety and genuine warmth. We wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone. We arrived with six people without a reservation, and although they were fully booked, they still managed to seat us. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly, and the staff is very courteous and attentive. The menu is fantastic, offering a wide selection of flavorful and aromatic dishes. There are also many vegetarian options. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left feeling lighthearted, full, and happy. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic restaurant! The whole team is very attentive. We were there on a Friday, and it's best to make a reservation if you want to be sure of getting a table. The food was a 10/10! We've been there before and chose Namaste again. You don't have to wait long for your drinks or food. If you can't decide which delicious dish to order, the staff will help with great recommendations. The Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Lamb Masala are our top three. And the naan bread is incredibly delicious. When we took some of our sauce with us, they even gave us extra rice. We'll definitely be back! (It's wiser to reserve in advance, especially since it gets very busy on weekends.)

The food at Namaste is absolutely incredible. I first visited the restaurant in the summer of 2024. I actually live in Sweden, but because the food was so unbelievably good, we decided to travel back to Lübeck — and we ended up eating there on both evenings of our trip. We had the Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Korma, and it is truly the best Indian food I have ever had. The staff are also absolutely wonderful. They treated us to dessert on both nights, and they were incredibly kind to my son who was with me. The prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended!
